Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal transfer boost as Sevilla defender Jules Kounde says he might have to move this summer

SEVILLA’s French prospect Jules Kounde admits he might have to ‘change clubs’ to realise his potential in a major boost for Prem clubs. The 22-year-old defender has been trailed by the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Jules Kounde’s form has earned him a France call-upCredit: AFP
He helped Sevilla win the Europa League after moving from Bordeaux in 2019 and his LaLiga form hasn’t gone unnoticed among the Premier League giants.
Kounde received his first France call-up for this summer’s Euros, and he was grilled by reporters at the team’s Clairefontaine training camp about his future.
He said: “Regarding my future, it’s certain that I will perhaps have to change clubs this summer.
“But nothing has been finalised yet. I have not decided anything.
“My goal is to play for a big club, to try to always progress and to win trophies.
“It’s true that I might have to move but that’s not relevant today.”
Kounde added: “I would say that perhaps when I arrived at Sevilla and started playing more and more and also with the arrival of the Champions League.
“It has always been something in my head. I have always believed in it, I have always worked for it. To have it.

“That objective in the sights meant that I was able to have the performances I did at Sevilla.
“Also thanks to this club that helped me a lot and my team-mates who always pushed me.”
Sevilla are unlikely to want to sell the defender – who has a £69million release clause.
SunSport exclusively revealed that Manchester United were eyeing up a move for Kounde to pair him alongside Harry Maguire.
But Spanish media have claimed that Chelsea are in pole position to secure the Frenchman’s services.
They declared that the Blues are unwilling to activate his release clause, and will instead try to drive the price down by offering one of five players as well as cash.
Hakim Ziyech was among the names mentioned, while other players who could reportedly be used in any swap deal are Tammy Abraham, Cesar Azpilicueta, Michy Batshuayi and Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Alaba, 28, was determined to experience a new challenge, with a preference for playing in midfield.
And after months of speculation, Madrid have finally officially announced the deal.
The left-sided star has committed for five seasons, and will earn around £200,000-a-week.
Alaba will be officially presented to Real Madrid supporters following the conclusion of Euro 2020, at which he is representing his country.
He arrives at Santiago Bernabeu with incredible cup-winning pedigree.
Madrid’s new star won 27 trophies with Bayern Munich, since joining from Austria Wien as a teenager in 2009.
Of these, ten were Bundesliga titles – including the last nine in a row.
He has also won the Champions League twice, while being named in Uefa’s Team of the Year three times.

After news emerged last year that he would not be signing a new contract, Alaba was courted by a number of clubs across Europe.
These included Premier League sides Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City – as well as Catalan giants Barcelona.
But, after being moved to tears as he said farewell to Bayern following 431 appearances, Alaba opted to join Real Madrid.

The Frenchman hasn’t been a standout performer for the Catalan giants since joining from league rivals Atletico for just over £100million back in July 2019.
Griezmann managed to find the back of the net 20 times this season across all competitions.
But Barca’s overall failure of getting knockout of the Champions League, as well as failing to win the LaLiga title overshadows what has been his best goalscoring return in a Barca shirt.
Atletico president Enrique Cerezo told Spanish radio station El Larguero: “I’d love to sign Antoine [Griezmann] but I think Barça are not planning to sell him”.
But according to Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barca’s position is different, and are willing to sell the Frenchman should a sizeable bid come through.

Felix hasn’t had it easy in Madrid either since joining from Benfica back in 2019 for £113million.
Despite Atletico winning LaLiga this season, on an individual level, Felix only managed to score 10 times across all competitions.

And he only managed to complete 90 minutes eight times this season.
But the 21-year-old has this summer’s Euros to impress in a star-studded Portugal side alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Ruben Dias.
Barca are looking to rebuild, and signing Felix fits within the frameworks of their transfer policy.
But the Portugal international could struggle at Barca similarly to Griezmann due to his favourite position – second striker – being occupied by Lionel Messi.

Southampton interested in transfer of Barcelona full-back Junior Firpo as they search for Ryan Bertrand replacement

Ralph Hasenhuttl will therefore look to the market having recently shifted central defender Mohammed Salisu over to the flank in Bertrand’s absence.
ESPN report on Barcelona’s Firpo, 24, entering the Saints’ radar.
The Spaniard has played second fiddle to Jordi Alba since his £17million move from Real Betis two seasons ago.
And he is named among a number of fringe players who Barcelona want to sell as part of a summer overhaul.
Ousmane Dembele, Antoine Griezmann and Philippe Coutinho are also up for the chop.
Southampton are said to have already made first contact to gauge a move.

But fierce competition is likely to come from Serie A, where a number of clubs are described as keen.
AC Milan attempted to sign Firpo on loan in January and the Rossoneri could offer Champions League if they come back in for his signature.
A busy summer could be in store for Southampton with a replacement potentially also needed for Danny Ings.
The striker has been linked with a surprise move to Manchester United or neighbours City, as an alternative to Harry Kane.

Man Utd’s top four transfer targets this summer revealed as Solskjaer plots moves starting with Villarreal’s Pau Torres

MANCHESTER UNITED will reportedly hunt down four star players for a potentially huge summer of transfer activity.Jadon Sancho, Harry Kane, Declan Rice and Pau Torres are all said to be on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s radar – which was formulated before the Red Devils’ Europa League final defeat.

Villarreal defender Torres was one of the Spanish side’s unlikely penalty shootout heroes and is being eyed for a place alongside Harry Maguire in the United defence.
According to The Guardian, the 24-year-old would be the cheapest of the quartet of targets.
Solskjaer is described as being aware that the prospect of signing all four players is unlikely, particularly given the fees involved.
But Torres could come as cheap as £26million, less than half the fee required for Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane.
Villarreal club president Fernando Roig recently opened the door to a deal and told El Transistor that a deal can be done: “If they arrive with the money and the player wants to move.”
He added: “But there must be an agreement between all three parties.”

Sancho, 21, is described as the most likely of the quartet to arrive with Borussia Dortmund cutting the winger’s price tag with just two years left to run on his contract.
Tempting Tottenham or West Ham into a deal for Kane or Rice will prove much harder.
Daniel Levy is expected to want as much as £200m for the striker, 27, after Kane outlined plans to discuss his future with the club.

While West Ham will also likely demand a nine-figure fee for midfielder Rice ahead of their Europa League campaign.
Solskjaer is said to want new signings in all four positions this summer to build a Premier League title bid.
Should any of his top targets be unavailable, his focus will reportedly move on to alternative targets.

Instead, with his contract expiring ths summer, he will leave for Barcelona on a free transfer.
Lyon chief Juninho confirmed the club made attempts to keep Depay, but took a swipe at the attacker for being too self-centered.
And he insisted the 27-year-old is not at the level of Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, therefore cannot expect preferential treatment.
Juninho told OLTV: “Memphis, he has done his time. The president made a lot of efforts for him to extend. Memphis, he wanted a team for him.
“That is not a criticism. I had a good relationship with him. However, it was as if the whole team had to work around him and that was very hard.
“Because everyone needs to feel like they are working equally.
“There are only 4 players in the world who you should do everything for him: Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Mbappe.
“If you have one of them, things should work around them. Sorry, I think Memphis is good, but not at the level of those four. And I think he needs to work more off of the ball.”

The Dutchman, who scored 22 goals in 40 appearances this season, is set to be joined at Barca by Sergio Aguero, 32, who will leave Manchester City after the Champions League final.
Depay confirmed Lyon’s last game of the season would be his final for the club as he said farewell after four years in France.
He said to L’Equipe: “It will be strange to think that I will play my final game for the club on Sunday against Nice.
“I am a bit sad that I won’t be able to do that in front of the fans, in an empty stadium without my friends, the fans and my family.
“I’ve had some great times here. I have played in the Champions League, I have captained the team and I am a much better player now.
“I want to go to one of the two or three best clubs in the top five leagues. I don’t know where I will end up yet, but that’s my plan.
“If people don’t consider me a player of that level then they have a problem with me. If I am not on the list of great players then it’s their problem.”

Barcelona’s transfer ‘bid’ for David Beckham from Man Utd was FAKE, says former presidential candidate

BARCELONA’S transfer bid for David Beckham in 2003 was a bluff, according to former presidential candidate Lluis Bassat. The Spanish giants were heavily linked with a move for the England icon while he was playing for Manchester United.

Reports claimed that Barcelona had agreed terms to bring Beckham to Spain.
But the move fell through and he ended up joining their LaLiga rivals Real Madrid in 2003 instead.
Bassat, 79, claimed that Barcelona’s interest in Becks was not legit.
He suggested that it was a bluff used to help Joan Laporta to win the 2003 presidential elections.
Speaking on Catalunya Radio in comments revealed by Mundo Deportivo last year, he said: “Something happened because a few days before the elections I had 42 per cent in voting intention while Laporta had just nine per cent.
“Then I called the head of the advertising agency that manages the Manchester United account, the Ogilvy group.
“This person had a few days ago offered, in my office, to find sponsors for Barcelona like he was already doing with United.
“I called this man and said ‘Laporta says he has signed Beckham.’

“He told me ‘no, no, he is already signed by Madrid’.”
At the time, Laporta claimed he was ‘very confident’ of completing a deal for the English star.
The presidential candidate said: “They think my campaign team is strong and we are very, very confident about our negotiations.”

Samir Nasri says Drip Doctor scandal ‘destroyed’ him and he had ‘nightclub’ agreement with Sevilla manager Sampaoli

SAMIR NASRI opened up on the doping scandal that rocked the former Arsenal and Man City star’s career. The Frenchman, 33, was banned for 12 months by Uefa after visiting the Drip Doctors medical centre while on holiday in Los Angeles in December 2016.
The picture of Samir Nasri and Jamila Sozahdah went viral
The scandal broke while Nasri was on loan at LaLiga side Sevilla and he has now spoken of how he lost any desire to play football once the investigation began.
He told an Instagram Live discussion last year: “What happened in Los Angeles ruined my season.
“It was an injection of vitamins that was legal and I had a prescription.
“I was destroyed because I thought I was going to be banned for two years.
“I didn’t want to play anymore after that.  I even told [Sevilla boss, Jorge] Sampaoli to leave me out, but he always wanted me to play.
“I was lost, I was anxious and angry with everything. I didn’t show it on the pitch but football was over for me.”DRIP FED
Drip Doctors and its co-founder Jamila Sozahdah were also suddenly in the spotlight after a picture of the medic with Nasri emerged online.
Having been given an initial six-month sentence, his punishment for receiving an intravenous drip of 500 millilitres of water containing nutrients was doubled and backdated – effectively ruling him out of action for the entirety of 2018.
The sorry episode marked the attacking midfielder’s downturn as he endured underwhelming spells with Antalyaspor and West Ham, in between which he served his doping ban.
Nasri then signed for Anderlecht, managed by former Manchester City team-mate Vincent Kompany, in 2019.

Drip Doctors and Jamila Sozahdah (left) were also under the microscope after the Nasri saga
But he can count on two Premier League titles and a League Cup at Etihad Stadium, which made him a star capture for Sevilla in 2016 and urged Jorge Sampaoli to award the player immense freedom.
Nasri recalled: “Sampaoli liked me so much that he said to me, ‘Come to our team, you can drink, go to nightclubs, do what you want and I’ll cover your back. All I ask is that you play well on the pitch on the weekend’.
“In fact, one weekend I wasn’t able to play and I wanted to go home and see my family and he offered to watch my house and look after my dog.”
