Courtois ‘was given icy reception from Navas after leaving Chelsea for Real Madrid and pair had NO relationship’

THIBAUT COURTOIS was reportedly given the cold shoulder by Keylor Navas following his 2019 summer arrival at Real Madrid. And reports in France claim the duo rarely spoke beyond greetings at training sessions before the Costa Rican keeper’s exit for Paris-Saint Germain.

Courtois, 29, joined Madrid from Chelsea on a six-year deal thought to be worth up to £38million in August 2018.
His headline-grabbing move came just over a year before Navas left for Ligue One juggernauts Paris-Saint Germain.
And the pair could be set for a reunion with their teams facing off in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Courtois is thought to have had a tricky start to life at the Bernabeu with him rivalling Navas, 35, for a starting spot between the sticks.
In the 2018-19 season, the duo went head-to-head for a place in former Madrid boss’ Zinedine Zidane’s first 11 prior to the Costa Rican’s move to France’s top-flight.
However French Sports L’Equipe claim Navas never wished to leave the LaLiga outfit.
And the newspaper reports the player, who has 103 senior international caps, feels he was pushed out by club chiefs.

Courtois’s relationship with his former colleague is thought to have been in stark contrast to the warm partnership he had with Petr Cech at Chelsea.
The Belgian spent seven years at with the Blues where he kept 58 clean sheets in 154 appearances between July 2011 and August 2018.
And in an October 2020 interview with French newspaper Le Derniere Heure, Courtois’s father Thierry said: “Petr received him very well (at Chelsea).
“He was the first one to come to receive him in his first training, he always gave him advice and helped him to integrate.
“He was a great team-mate who he could always count on. The same cannot be said for Keylor.
“His integration was not easy because Keylor was always there, there was a difficult internal competitiveness.
“Also external, with the journalists, who were in favour of Keylor. Once he went to PSG, everything was easier.”
The chances of an uneasy reunion on the pitch when Real face PSG look slim though, with Gianluigi Donnarumma having played for the French side in the first leg, which they won 1-0.

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski and Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix could swap clubs in sensational transfer

ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI could be on his way to Atletico Madrid if Bayern Munich decide to make a move for Joao Felix, according to reports. The Bundesliga giants have reignited their interest in Felix, who is certainly making in impression in LaLiga.

They considered making a move for the 22-year-old when he was still at Benfica, but they were pipped to the post by Atletico Madrid in 2019.
However, according to Roberto Gomez and Marca, the striker could sign for Bayern Munich in a deal that would see Lewandowski go the other way.
Gomez said: “Bayern Munich is very interested in knowing what Joao Félix’s contract situation is with Atlético de Madrid.
“Joao Félix’s departure from the Munich team would open the door to the Polish Lewandowski, a player that the red and white team was able to hire years ago and who, following in the footsteps of David Villa and Luis Suárez, could contribute goals and experience to contribute titles.”
Felix still has four years until his current contract expires, so it might be difficult for the German side to strike a deal without offering an adequate replacement.
Meanwhile, Lewandowski has less that 18 months left on his contract, so Bayern may want to sell him this year whilst he still has a high valuation.

The 33-year-old has not yet made a decision on his future, but he has been linked to other clubs across Europe.
Arsenal have recently developed an interest in him as a potential replacement for Eddie Nketiah or Alexandre Lacazette, who are both expected to leave North London in the summer.
When speaking to Sky Sports Germany, Lewandowski said: “I am open to everything. I’m quiet.
“It is important for me to be able to focus on my game, always on what can happen in the last match.
“Everything that remains to be done regarding the contracts is a secondary issue and remains in the background.” More

Real Madrid see Eden Hazard transfer as a ‘FIASCO’ and would ‘gladly’ sell former Chelsea star in summer

EDEN HAZARD could be forced to make a move away from Madrid this summer, according to reportsAccording to the Spanish outlet AS, the former Chelsea star may have to leave Real Madrid in the upcoming transfer window if he wants to stand a chance of making Belgium’s squad for the 2022 World Cup.

Hazard joined the Spanish giants in July 2019 but has since failed to reach the high expectations of fans.
He has only registered one goal and two assists this season and has barely made an impact to the squad.
The 31-year-old has struggled to make the starting line-up ever since Vinicius Jr’s breakthrough and is out-of-favour with Carlo Ancelotti.
With the expected arrival of Kylian Mbappe in the summer, Hazard is expected to fall further down the pecking order if he does not act soon.
Real Madrid are reportedly happy to let him go in the summer, even though they will receive nowhere near the £130million they paid for him three years ago.
He has been linked to a number of clubs across England including Newcastle, Everton and West Ham.

The Hammers made a shock £21million bid for the winger in December, but it was immediately rejected by the Whites as they deemed it to be ‘offensive’.
Hazard has also been tipped to make a return to Chelsea.
However, if he does choose to leave Madrid he will have to take a big pay-cut.
He reportedly earns around £400,000 per week at the moment, but that figure will be considered far too high for most clubs that are interested. More

Reports suggest that they have already convinced Azpilicueta, 32, to make the switch when his contract expires in June.
He will be offered a two-year deal with the option to extend for a further season.
Xavi is said to be a big fan of the Chelsea captain and is eager to get the deal over the line.
Azpilicueta is one of the most decorated players in Blues’ history and recently became the first person to win every competition possible with the club.
Barcelona are also planning to make a move for Christensen, whose contract also expires in the summer.
He has attracted interest from other clubs across Europe, including Bayern Munich.

Xavi is a huge admirer of Christensen’s style of play and believes that he could be an ideal addition to the squad, especially with Barcelona’s possession-based tactics.

England: Premier League and EFL transfer window
In 2021, the Premier League and EFL’s summer transfer window opened on June 9 and it ran for 12 weeks closing on August 31 matching the rest of Europe.
And it is expected to be the same time frame in 2022.
    Italy: Serie A transfer window
Italy are expected to open their summer transfer period on July, 1 and stop negotiations from going through on August, 31 – before the start of the new season.
    Spain: La Liga transfer window
In unison with Italy, Spain are also expected to open their summer transfer window on July 1 and close on August 31.
However, clubs still have the ability to sign a free agent and loan/sell players to leagues where the market is still active.
    Germany: Bundesliga transfer window
The Germans are also looking to operate with the same transfer dates as Italy and Spain; opening on July 1 and closing on August 31.
But their window closure time is expected to be at 4pm UK time – 5pm local time as opposed to 10:59pm UK time – 11:59pm local time.
    France: Ligue 1 transfer window
France will follow suit with the English leagues by opening its window on June, 9 and letting it run on until August 31.
    United States: MLS transfer window
The Major League Soccer’s transfer period is significantly different to the other leagues.
Instead of having a January winter window, the governing bodies have chosen to have two windows within the time frame of March and August.
Usually, the MLS primary window opens from February, 10 and closes on May, 4.
However, in 2021, their preseason and opening day of April, 17 was delayed which meant that the primary transfer window opened from March 10 and closed on June 1.
Thankfully, their plans for the secondary transfer window remained the same opening on July 7 and closing on August 5.
And this years primary one has gone to plan because it is currently open now and will close on May 4.

REAL MADRID superstar Luka Modric has pleaded with Russia to end its invasion of Ukraine as he has first-hand experience of the devastation of war.As a child, Modric and his family were caught up in the 1991-1995 Croatian War of Independence.
I grew up during war and I don’t wish it on anyone. We must stop this nonsense where innocent people die. We want to live in peace. #StopWar— Luka Modrić (@lukamodric10) February 27, 2022

When he was six-years-old, his grandfather Luka Modric Snr was shot and killed by Serbian militia in a small village called Modrici in 1991.
It was devastating for the boy, who was raised by Modric Snr while his parents Stipe and Radojka worked long hours in a knitwear factory to support the family.
This week’s harrowing scenes of Russian troops entering suburbs and cities in Ukraine moved the 146-cap Croatia star to plead for an end to the violence immediately.
He tweeted: “I grew up during war and I don’t wish it on anyone.
“We must stop this nonsense where innocent people die.
“We want to live in peace. #StopWar”

Modric emerged from his traumatic childhood to become officially the best footballer in the world in 2018 with his Ballon d’Or win.
He is still regarded as one of the best playmakers in the game after a career which has seen him have starring roles at Dinamo Zagreb, Tottenham and now Real.
Premier League fans regularly saw him dominate games for Spurs but it is during his current decade-long spell in Madrid where he has collected a raft of top honours, including four Champions League wins.
Modric also led Croatia to the final of the 2018 World Cup in Russia as their captain and – despite defeat to France in the final – he was awarded the Golden Ball as the best player in the tournament. More

The teenager capped his latest memorable match by firing home a right foot shot early in the second half for his fourth goal of the afternoon.

The two-cap Spain prospect is also the first to put four goals past Espanyol keeper and skipper Diego Lopez, 40.
The Canary Islands-born starlet was given his professional debut for Villarreal in October 2020 by boss Unai Emery.
He scored his first senior goal in the same month in a 3-1 Europa League win over Qarabag.
He became the youngest Spaniard to start and win a major European cup final when Villarreal went on to win that competition on penalties against Manchester United.

After Sunday’s win, former Arsenal gaffer Emery said of Pino: “Yeremy is a 19-year-old boy who has a lot of maturity for certain things.
“He is competitive, brave and always wants more. He’s not always brilliant, he’s very young and has a lot to learn.
“Lately, he has played less and today he put in a very complete performance.”
The Gunners are among the clubs reported to be keeping tabs on Pino, who has a deal at Villarreal until 2024. More
