      Anthony Martial’s Sevilla future ‘very complicated’ and the forward likely to make Man United return

      MANCHESTER United forward Anthony Martial admits he is expecting to return to Old Trafford after struggling during his loan spell with Sevilla.The Frenchan took a pay-cut from his reported £130,000 a week deal to secure a move away from the club in January, but has scored just once since.

      Martial, 26, expressed his desire to leave Old Trafford after talks with interim Manchester United manager Ralf Ragnick early in the January transfer window.
      A deal with Sevilla looked to have fallen through after the Spanish club refused to pay a loan fee and cover half of his wages.
      A compromise was found which enabled Martial to move until the end of the season, but no purchase clause was included in the deal.
      He told ABC Sevilla: “I see it very complicated to be able to continue at Sevilla.”

      The French international scored his first Sevilla goal in his Europa League debut for the Spanish side, but suffered a hamstring injury in the following league game just days later.
      He missed three matches, but since returning has now gone seven games without a goal or assist.
      He added: “I know I can be at a higher level, and I work for it, but first the injury, then the adaptation to a new club and a new city, is being difficult for me because of the language barrier.
      “I came knowing that it would be six months and then I would surely have to return to Manchester United.
      “I’m very happy with the experience of playing in a new club, as big as Sevilla and having minutes again. If we manage to be a top four team, we will have achieved the goal and I will be happy for the fans, who have been very good to me since I arrived.”

      Martial became the world’s most expensive teenage footballer when he moved from Monaco to Manchester United for an initial £36m in 2015.
      He scored 18 times during an impressive debut season.
      Despite struggling to replicate that form he showed enough promise to earn a new five-year deal in January 2019.

      Man Utd boost in Antonio Rudiger transfer chase as Barcelona ‘hesitate’ over free move for Chelsea defender

      MANCHESTER United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of defensive reinforcements after Barcelona’s bid for Anthonio Rüdiger stalled.The Chelsea defender is likely to leave Stamford Bridge this summer with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

      Barcelona have emerged as the favourites to secure the German defender in recent weeks, although he has also been linked with rivals Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.
      Rudiger reportedly ‘snubbed a £200,000 a week’ contract renewal with Chelsea in February, with the 29-year-old apparently seeking a more lucrative deal.
      However, after Roman Abramovich’s assets were frozen the sanctions placed on the club include a ban on negotiating new contracts.
      Those restrictions would be lifted once a new owner is confirmed, but that could be too late, with Rudiger currently able to negotiate terms with foreign clubs.

      News Barcelona’s bid has stalled after “hesitating” over the move could open the door for Man Utd to enhance their defensive options.
      While the Old Trafford club are not short in terms of numbers in the central defensive positions, performances this season suggest they are low on quality.

      FORMER Real Madrid midfielder and Colombia international Freddy Rincon has died in hospital following his car crash on Monday morning.The 55-year-old underwent a three-hour op after suffering severe head injuries and had been “critical” in intensive care following a violent collision with a bus in the Colombian city of Cali.

      Laureano Quintero, head medic at the private clinic where he had been admitted, announced the retired footballer had died just before midnight last night local time.
      The Imbanaco Clinic said in a statement: “Despite all the efforts of our medical team, the patient Freddy Eusebio Rincon Valencia has died today April 13.
      “We deeply regret this outcome, and at the same time offer our most sincere condolences to relatives, friends, acquaintances and fans.
      “There will never be a way to express what this really means to us and we invite the whole country to remember him with joy for everything he gave us in life with his sporting achievements.”

      Rincon was left fighting for his life after a crash just before 5am between the Ford Escape he was in and a bus whose driver suffered a broken leg in the collision.
      He was the most seriously hurt of the four people in the car, which officials said after the accident had gone through a red light.
      The retired footballer was initially said to have been driving the vehicle, although subsequent reports pointed to him being a passenger.
      Colombian football has begun to pay tribute to their fine former midfielder.

      Brazilian club Corinthians, which Rincon also played for and helped win titles including the first FIFA Club World Cup in 2000, said in a tweet: “It’s with great sadness that we say goodbye to a great idol.

      CASEMIRO has defended Real Madrid teammate Gareth Bale from fan heckling, saying that those who boo him are booing “the history of the club.”The Welshman met a rough reaction from home fans after coming on in the second half against Getafe on Saturday.
