    Sergi Roberto reveals he is paid like a YOUTH TEAM player at Barcelona after taking huge salary cut amid financial woes

    BARCELONA star Sergi Roberto revealed he took a youth team wage to remain at the club in the summer.The defender signed a one-year deal at the end of last season to stay at the Nou Camp.

    But he took a significant wage cut due to the financial problems at the LaLiga giants.
    Roberto has just over six months remaining on his contract but he is hopeful of signing a long-term deal on a much-improved salary.
    However, he admitted in an interview with RAC1 that the club are yet to open talks over a new contract.
    He said: “Right now I’m getting paid as if I had moved up from Barca B, but I do it with pride because I want to be here. For me the economic issue is not important.

    “We haven’t started talking [about a new contract] yet, but my idea is to stay. From what the coaching staff have told me, they are very happy with me and want me to stay.
    “I would be very excited to be able to continue, to be able to enjoy myself on the pitch with the Barca shirt.”
    Barcelona could open negotiations with Roberto over the next few weeks, while Frenkie de Jong is also now said to be indispensable.
    It is also claimed any attempts to reduce the Dutchman’s wages have been shelved.

    REAL MADRID are set to accelerate their move for Jude Bellingham, according to reports in Spain.The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is wanted by elite clubs all over Europe, having impressed for England at the World Cup.

    Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are all jostling for the teenage sensation.
    But Madrid want to muscle their way to the front of the queue.
    According to this morning’s edition of Marca, the LaLiga champions are set to move quickly to sign the former Birmingham City prodigy.
    They ran with the front page headline: “Acceleration for Bellingham”.

    A previous report from the Madrid-based paper claimed that Real asked the 19-year-old not to extend his Dortmund contract in a bid to make a move easier.
    Bellingham’s current deal with the Bundesliga club runs until 2025.
    And it reportedly contains a previously unknown £60million release clause – which could be particularly bad news for Chelsea.
    The Blues are willing to splash whatever it takes to sign Bellingham, even if the fee is north of £100m.

    But a £60m fee brings other suitors with less deep pockets back into the race.
    Bellingham is claimed in some quarters to favour a move to Liverpool – having already built up strong relationships with England team-mates Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson.
    The midfielder is the Reds’ No1 target, after they sealed a £37m deal to sign Cody Gakpo from PSV earlier this week.
    Since England’s elimination from the World Cup, Bellingham has been enjoying some downtime back in Blighty.
    He made an emotional return to St Andrew’s to watch his beloved Birmingham City and say a proper goodbye to their fans.
    While he also visited Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park.
    Bellingham, 19, was most recently spotted at Turf Moor watching his brother Jobe in action for Birmingham against Burnley last night.

    And he is now back in their youth set-up as he looks to continue to make a name for himself.
    Journalist Edu Cornago confirmed his return to the Madrid academy on Tuesday.
    It comes just days after his dad, Cristiano, was training with Real’s first team.
    He has been linked with a shock return to the Bernabeu – where he spent nine sensational years from 2009 to 2018.

    The Portuguese superstar, 37, scored a remarkable 450 goals in 438 games for the Spanish giants.
    He then departed for Juventus where he claimed two Serie A titles.
    A return to Man Utd then came about in the summer of 2021, with Ronaldo bagging 24 goals in his first season back at Old Trafford.
    However, his second campaign was a far more frustrating one as he was largely benched by manager Erik ten Hag.

    Eventually, after just three goals in 16 matches, his contract was ripped up following an explosive interview with Piers Morgan.
    He went to the World Cup as a free agent and returned after a quarter-final exit with Portugal.

    But a second stint in the Spanish capital seems unlikely.

    There is reported to be interest from both Chelsea and Liverpool.
    The Blues are even claimed to have submitted a contract proposal to Moukoko.
    However, the 18-year-old is ready to join Barcelona, according to Sport.

    Moukoko is out of contract at the end of the season and free to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in January.
    He is alleged to have rejected Dortmund’s offer of a new deal and is prioritising a switch to the Nou Camp.
    But Barca have made it clear to him that they will only sign him for free in the summer.
    They are unable to bid for him in January, and also won’t be able to match the personal terms offered by Premier League clubs in the summer.

    If Dortmund are resigned to losing Moukoko, they would rather part ways with him in January in order to receive a transfer fee.

    Barcelona are claimed to be in advanced negotiations with the teenager, but reportedly need the teenager to compromise on wage demands.
    Moukoko’s representatives are allegedly demanding £6.1million-a-year for the striker, which works out at £117,000-a-week.

    As a result, a winter exit looks on the cards and the Telegraph claim that Chelsea are plotting a loan offer.

    Felix might have fallen out of favour for Atletico, but he still started four of Portugal’s five games at the World Cup.

    According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, a deal has not been reached between the two parties yet but an agreement appears imminent.
    Romano tweeted: “Atlético Madrid are close to complete the signing of Caglar Soyuncu for 2023.
    “Deal not done or signed yet but negotiations are advanced, waiting to get it sealed as soon as possible.
    “Aston Villa and AS Roma had also contacts for Soyuncu but Atléti are close.”

    Soyuncu is out of contract at the end of the season, leaving Leicester vulnerable to a transfer swoop.
    This will obviously require a fee but the Foxes would likely have to sell the centre-back for less money than his worth due to his contract situation.
    The Turkey international has been a regular starter for the Foxes over the past few seasons and has often been a rock at the heart of the defence.
    That is why Soyuncu has also caught the eye of Villa, who are looking to strengthen ahead of the second half of the season.

    But the report suggests that it is a tactic in order to raise his price ahead of a potential sale of the player.
    This season, the midfielder has made 17 appearances for Barcelona, scoring twice and assisting one goal.
    De Jong is believed to have told Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag that he was happy to move to Old Trafford.

    But a move failed to materialise in the summer as the 25-year-old refused to leave the club due to his deferred wages.
