‘I came to Spain to support him’ – Shakira reveals how she put career ‘in second gear’ so Gerard Pique could win titles

Shakira, 45, is fighting to have full custody of their children and has moved to the US as she attempts to overcome the “darkest” moment of her life.
In an interview with Elle, the singer described how she put her career ambitions to one side to be with Pique in Barcelona, as that is where he wanted to play.
She said: “One of the two had to make that effort and that sacrifice. And I did it.
“I put my career in second gear and I came to Spain, to support him so he could play football and win titles. And it was a sacrifice of love.”

The singer has been rocked by Gerard’s new relationship with PR girl Clara Chia Marti, 23, who is believed to have met him while working on events at his sports investment firm Kosmos.
It has been alleged that Pique had an affair with Clara and that is what caused the break up.
The pair were pictured at the Summerfest Cerdanya festival in Catalonia.
And Shakira’s family has said she is “very angry” at seeing images of the father of her two children in public with his new girlfriend.

Pique and Clara have since gone public with their relationship and those close to the couple say they have been seeing each other for some time.
Shakira has not publicly revealed the reasons behind the split but she spoke of being resilient as she tries to cope with the pain of the split. More
