      Man Utd ‘keen to sign Marco Asensio in coming days’ with Real Madrid star available for free transfer in summer

      MANCHESTER UNITED are hoping to sign Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio in the next few DAYS, according to reports.The 26-year-old Spaniard has just six months left on his current contract with the LaLiga giants.

      It means that from January 1 he will be allowed to speak to non-Spanish clubs.
      According to Sport, Man Utd are keen to tie down the Real Madrid man before he becomes a free agent in the summer.
      The Red Devils – who face Wolves this weekend – missed out on Cody Gakpo after Liverpool swooped in to agree a deal for the Dutchman.
      And now Asensio is being looked at by those inside Old Trafford once more.

      The Spanish international’s agent, Jorge Mendes, was willing to sell his client to United last summer.
      However, the player reportedly wanted to see if his wage demands could be met by Real.
      Now it appears the 14-time European champions will not adhere to his request and he will move on.
      And Man Utd are one of the few clubs who could afford Asensio’s wages – currently thought to be around £120,000 per week.

      Asensio joined Real Madrid from Mallorca for around £3.5million in 2014.
      He has contributed 52 goals and 27 assists in 250 appearances for the club.

      SCORING a goal in football is one of the best feelings – and for Alvaro Morata it even seems to miraculously cure injuries. Morata, a transfer target of Manchester United, scored a wonderful if not slightly bizarre goal for Atletico Madrid which saw him undergo a “miracle” recovery.

      The Chelsea flop skinned two defenders before firing a shot towards goal in an effort to double the lead against Elche on his side’s La Liga return.
      A third defender came across and deflected the shot into a high arcing loop, while the second defender left a bit on Morata as he tried to recover from being beaten earlier.
      The Spain World Cup star then fell to the floor writhing in pain – as his shot looped into the net to make it 2-0.
      But mere seconds later, he was back up on his feet celebrating with team-mates as if he was never injured.

      And fans were quick to comment on his recovery.
      One user simply described it as a “miracle.”
      A second user declared: “This is why football is the most beautiful game, such a great sport with a powerful spirit, even God intervenes and heal the wounded when needed!”
      Some fans chose to also highlight team-mate Antoine Griezmann’s striking new hairdo, with the Frenchman showing off an all-pink head of hair.

      Man United are in the market for a new striker after losing Cristiano Ronaldo and missing out on Cody Gakpo, who has signed for Liverpool instead.

      BARCELONA star Sergi Roberto revealed he took a youth team wage to remain at the club in the summer.The defender signed a one-year deal at the end of last season to stay at the Nou Camp.

      But he took a significant wage cut due to the financial problems at the LaLiga giants.
      Roberto has just over six months remaining on his contract but he is hopeful of signing a long-term deal on a much-improved salary.
      However, he admitted in an interview with RAC1 that the club are yet to open talks over a new contract.
      He said: “Right now I’m getting paid as if I had moved up from Barca B, but I do it with pride because I want to be here. For me the economic issue is not important.

      “We haven’t started talking [about a new contract] yet, but my idea is to stay. From what the coaching staff have told me, they are very happy with me and want me to stay.
      “I would be very excited to be able to continue, to be able to enjoy myself on the pitch with the Barca shirt.”
      Barcelona could open negotiations with Roberto over the next few weeks, while Frenkie de Jong is also now said to be indispensable.
      It is also claimed any attempts to reduce the Dutchman’s wages have been shelved.

      According to this morning’s edition of Marca, the LaLiga champions are set to move quickly to sign the former Birmingham City prodigy.
      They ran with the front page headline: “Acceleration for Bellingham”.

      A previous report from the Madrid-based paper claimed that Real asked the 19-year-old not to extend his Dortmund contract in a bid to make a move easier.
      Bellingham’s current deal with the Bundesliga club runs until 2025.
      And it reportedly contains a previously unknown £60million release clause – which could be particularly bad news for Chelsea.
      The Blues are willing to splash whatever it takes to sign Bellingham, even if the fee is north of £100m.

      Journalist Edu Cornago confirmed his return to the Madrid academy on Tuesday.
      It comes just days after his dad, Cristiano, was training with Real’s first team.
      He has been linked with a shock return to the Bernabeu – where he spent nine sensational years from 2009 to 2018.

      The Portuguese superstar, 37, scored a remarkable 450 goals in 438 games for the Spanish giants.
