But just one minute after he returned to the bench, Rodrygo changed the game by firing Los Blancos into the lead with an fantastic strike.
Real Madrid went on to win the game 1-0, but the main talking point among fans was Hazard’s underwhelming display.
One person tweeted: “If Eden Hazard has some self dignity, he should start looking for a club.”
Another added: “THE WORST SIGNING IN THE HISTORY OF REAL MADRID!”

A third said: “Eden Hazard had less touches than Lunin in the first half. This guy has to leave, he’s beyond finished. Enough is enough.”
While another criticised his attitude, adding: “Eden Hazard’s game was terrible. To have that attitude, it is better for a youth player with more hunger and enthusiasm to start playing.”
Having fallen out of favour at Real Madrid, Hazard has been limited to just seven appearances for the club so far this season.
He struggled to find the same prolific form that made him so popular at Chelsea when he moved to Madrid in 2019 and his club career has suffered as a consequence.

Since switching Stamford Bridge for the Santiago Bernabeu he has scored seven goals in 73 appearances.
Despite his poor form in Spain, Hazard was called-up to the 26-man Belgium squad ahead of the Qatar World Cup.
However, his tournament was short-lived as the Red Devils failed to make it out of the group stages.
After Belgium’s shock exit, the winger announced his retirement from international football with a heartfelt statement on social media.

It read: “A page turns today… Thank you for your love.
“Thank you for your unparalleled support. Thank you for all this happiness shared since 2008.
“I have decided to put an end to my international career. The succession is ready.

Ex-Arsenal ace Bellerin reveals shockingly low Barcelona wage and says ‘dehumanised’ footballers ‘should pay most taxes’

HEROIC Hector Bellerin revealed his shockingly low Barcelona wages as he called on “dehumanised” footballers to pay the most tax.The former Arsenal right-back, 27, left the Emirates for the Nou Camp last summer.

He completed a free transfer after having his Gunners contract ripped up.
But the defender – who regularly uses his voice for activism and social justice – did not demand mega wages as has become the norm among Europe’s biggest clubs.
Instead, Bellerin’s one-year deal is worth £440,000 – or less than £8,500 per week.
By comparison, his team-mate Robert Lewandowksi earns a reported £300,000 a week while some outlets suggest Frenkie de Jong is on as much as £600,000.

Bellerin, who is a co-owner at eco-friendly Forest Green Rovers, told Catalan newspaper Ara: “I signed with Barca for 500,000 euros.
“Nowadays what worries me is playing football at the highest level.
“I am lucky that I have been doing this for many years and I am in a financially comfortable situation that allows me to enjoy the that I want.
“In the end, we don’t need as much as we think and I live a very normal life. My priorities are not based on a financial issue.”

Generous Bellerin continued: “Footballers are the people who should pay the most taxes.
“I come from a family where there were months when we had to do the impossible to be able to eat. I continue to live with people like that, with friends, friends of the family.
“Everyone wants to earn money to be more comfortable, but with what I earn I think you have to think not only about your environment, but also about society, where there are very precarious situations.
“We footballers are in a very privileged position.

“We have worked hard and made many sacrifices, but we must be aware of what we have, where we come from and we should be the first to want to help the stability of our society.
“However, I understand that there are colleagues who think differently.
“We footballers are dehumanised, [living] in a bubble.” More

Barcelona legend Gerard Pique ‘wants to come out of retirement to play for team he owns FC Andorra’

GERARD PIQUE wants to come out of retirement to play for FC Andorra, according to shock reports. The Spaniard penned his retirement after leaving Barcelona last year and declared on November 3 “there wouldn’t be another team” after leaving the Camp Nou.

Despite that, a sensational report from Relevo has now claimed the 35-year-old wants to go back on this and play with FC Andorra – the team he owns.
However, the financial restrictions and strict rules regarding this make such a situation difficult.
There are two main components to this. The first of which are wages.
Pique could sign himself up to his team, but the valuation of his wages would need to be determined by a La Liga financial committee.
    READ MORE TRANSFER NEWS
His retirement at Barcelona saved the club a whopping £44million in the second half of the season.
And the committee will have to decide how much they value, for the purposes of the squad salary cap, how much it will “cost” Andorra to have a player like that.
Usually the committee will instruct a team to pay half the salary the player had been receiving, but with the club’s salary cap at £5.7m a year this would be difficult to justify.
There are workarounds to this, such as a capital increase funded by Pique himself.

However, once again La Liga’s financial rules would pose an issue in this regard.
The rules indicate a club is only allowed to raise their capital by 25 per cent of the existing business.
New capital injections from other sources would also need to go through checks. once again making life difficult for Pique’s hopes of playing for Andorra.
The club, who currently sit 10th in Spain’s second tier, was brought by Pique’s Kosmos Holdings in 2019.
Then they were just fifth-tier minnows.
But now four years on they one promotion away from being able to duke it out with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid in Spain’s top tier. More

They are all in regards to the 2021-22 season, according to Catalan newspaper ARA.
ARA say Barca have appealed all three of the alleged breaches before the RFEF UEFA license second instance committee.
Alves returned to Barcelona in November 2021 before leaving the following June, while Christensen arrived on a free transfer from Chelsea in July 2022.
However, despite Christensen not being registered until the new campaign, it’s said his case refers to 2021-22 as the deal had been agreed before the start of the new season.

Araujo meanwhile signed a contract extension last April with a €1billion (£882million) release clause.
Barca also spent over £130m in the summer on the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Jules Kounde.
The cash-strapped Catalans were forced to sell off domestic TV rights and their in-house media studio in order to fund transfers and register new players.
But it’s claimed they broke FFP rules by exceeding salary limits in the instances of Alves, Christensen and Araujo, and as a result have allegedly been fined over £700,000.

It was also claimed Barcelona were open to selling Frenkie de Jong in the summer to alleviate their economic strain.

After failing to land De Jong, United ended up signing Casemiro to bolster their midfield.
But the Red Devils have retained their interest in the Dutchman.
However, a January move appears to have been ruled out by Barca boss Xavi after he revealed he believed it would be a “quiet” window at the Nou Camp.
Xavi told reporters in Spain: “I don’t want Memphis (Depay) or any other player to leave in January.

“I think it’s going be a quiet window for us.”
It comes after a sensational report claimed De Jong was now keen on a Camp Nou exit.
The Blaugrana’s situation has led them to use a number of financial “levers” to take out loans against the club’s future revenue in order to balance the books.
However, a fresh report from Catalunya Radio has indicated the club cannot repeat the same trick they used last summer to bring in the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Jules Kounde.

The Spanish giants are also said to be around £176million over their wage budget, an issue not helped by the club’s Champions League group stage elimination.
Regardless, Erik ten Hag and Co are having issues of their own at Old Trafford.
Cristiano Ronaldo – who has now been unveiled by Al Nassr – departed the club after his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan, and Anthony Martial continues to be plagued by fitness issues.
Ten Hag has reiterated the need for the club to find a striker which matches their sporting and financial needs, but said they will not “burn money.”
He said: “I think we have a good team when all the players are available.
“But with many games coming up, I think there is a need (to sign a striker).
“But you need one who can have an impact, otherwise you are just burning money and you don’t strengthen the squad and it doesn’t help you.”
After missing out on Cody Gakpo, the likes of Joao Felix, Marcus Thuram, and Olivier Giroud are being considered by United. More

First introduced in 2019, the diagonal-striped top was only intended to be worn by Barcelona players for a single season.
But it quickly became a smash hit amongst supporters, who snapped it up in droves.
The shirt’s success, despite being Barca’s fourth choice, was then kept on in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
It was last worn in May when Barca thumped rivals Real Madrid 4-0 at the Bernabeu.

But Footy Headlines claims a new fourth kit is on its way to the Nou Camp.
With Rakuten no longer Barcelona’s shirt sponsors, Spotify will get their very own version of the ’Senyera’ shirt.
Keeping the same red-and-yellow design, it gets rid of the diagonal slashes for a neater horizontal look across the chest.
Barcelona’s iconic club badge will also move from the left to the centre of the top.
