Barcelona and Sevilla KICKED OUT of Copa de la Reina after breaking rules with Osasuna going through despite 9-0 defeat
BARCELONA and Sevilla’s women teams have been kicked out of the Copa de la Reina for fielding ineligible players. The Royal Spanish Football Federation [RFEF] confirmed their ruling today, meaning Osasuna head into the last 16 despite their crushing 9-0 defeat at the hands of Barcelona.

Barcelona Femeni, nine-time winners of the cup, fielded Brazilian striker Geyse against Osasuna.
However she was sent off in the quarter-finals of last year’s competition while playing for Madrid CFF and was meant to be serving a suspension.
Barca said the ban had not shown up on the RFEF’s website or internal system that is used by clubs.
The Catalan club have now been fined £1,000 but have ten days to appeal the disqualification.

Sevilla have also been thrown out of the cup for also using a player who should not have been on the pitch.
Nagore Calderon was sent off against UD Granadilla Tenerife in last season’s quarter-final.
But Sevilla brought her off the bench in a 1-0 win over Villarreal, landing them in hot water.
Villarreal will now take their place in the quarter-final.
