Jude Bellingham tipped for huge position change for England with £115million Real Madrid ace taking LaLiga by storm

GARY LINEKER believes Jude Bellingham could end up as a striker for England after his outstanding goalscoring start for Real Madrid. The Brummie midfielder has netted 11 times in 12 matches for the 14-time champs of Europe, operating largely as a ‘false nine’.

Lineker, who scored 48 goals for England and won the Golden Boot at the 1986 World Cup, said: “The way he has started at Real gives Gareth Southgate a great option.
“If something happens to Harry Kane — or after he is finished because Harry is now 30  — Jude could play at centre-forward, as a false nine if you like.
“He is now scoring poacher’s goals. He’s even doing the ‘easy’ bits that I used to do!
“He has been playing as a No 10 for England in his last few games.

“He can play in a deeper role as a No 8, he is probably the most complete English footballer I’ve ever seen and he’s only 20.”
Bellingham, who also scored for England against Scotland last month, makes his El Clasico debut for Real in Barcelona tomorrow — a fixture in which Lineker once scored a hat-trick for Barca.
And Lineker added: “No one knows what Jude’s best position is because he is so good in several roles but I could see him playing up front for England.”
Bellingham meanwhile has declared himself fit for Saturday’s El Clasico.

The midfielder was taken off at the end against Braga in the Champions League on Tuesday with a knock.
Bur boss Carlo Ancelotti said it was not serious and nothing more than tiredness.
And Bellingham, sent a clear message when he said: “I will be ready and available for El Clasico.”
Barcelona chief Xavi had to call up EIGHT academy players for their Champions League tie against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday as the Catalans grapple with key injuries  — including striker Robert Lewandowski.
He will likely be joined on the sidelines by midfielders Frenkie de Jong, Pedri and Sergi Roberto as well as defender Jules Kounde.
The club are hopeful winger Raphinha will be ready while forward Joao Felix said he is “fine” after limping off in  Wednesday’s game. More

Gary Lineker tips Jude Bellingham to be greatest English player EVER as Real Madrid star lines up for first El Clasico

THERE have been eight goals scored by Englishmen in world football’s greatest club fixture. And Gary Lineker netted five of them, for Barcelona against Real Madrid, including a hat-trick in the Nou Camp.

So before Jude Bellingham makes his debut in El Clasico at Barcelona’s Olympic Stadium tomorrow, Lineker’s glowing tribute to England’s outstanding young talent is worth listening to.
He said: “As a Barcelona man, I find it difficult to say it about a Real Madrid player but Bellingham is the complete footballer.
“On our podcast the other day we were discussing the late Sir Bobby Charlton and whether he was England’s greatest-ever player, and I think it’s fair to say that he was — but Bellingham can become our greatest of all time.
“We haven’t had a genuine global football superstar since Sir Bobby.

“You could say David Beckham had that level of celebrity but, respectfully, that was for other reasons as well as his football.
“Jude looks like he is going to be that global superstar — and with the way he has started at Real Madrid, perhaps he already is.”
Bellingham netted his 11th goal in 12 games for Real in Tuesday’s Champions League win at Braga, an extraordinary return for a player who had operated chiefly in a deeper midfield role at Borussia Dortmund before this summer’s £88.5million transfer to the Spanish capital.
And Lineker says the importance of hitting the ground running when playing for one of Spain’s footballing giants cannot be underestimated.

Bellingham has been relentlessly scoring since arriving at Real MadridCredit: EPA
The Match of the Day host scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Racing Santander on his Barca debut in 1986 — having arrived at the Nou Camp from Everton as the World Cup Golden Boot winner.
And he said: “We think Premier League footballers operate under a lot of pressure, and they do, but it’s nothing compared to playing for Barcelona and Real Madrid.
“When I was at Barcelona, it was a middle-class crowd. Most working-class people couldn’t afford to go.
“The Socios, who owned shares in the club, formed a lot of the crowd and for them it was like going to the opera or ballet. They sat back and expected to be entertained.
“In a bog-standard Spanish league game it could be very quiet and if you started badly, after 15 minutes they could get on your back and start whistling at you.
“It was similar at Real and while things have changed a little, it’s still largely true.
“So it was really important Jude made such an excellent start at Real.
“It was never quiet when Barca played Real Madrid, though.
“Not that it was referred to as ‘El Clasico’ in my day. It was called ‘El Derby’, which the Spanish use to mean any big match, not just a local rivalry.
“It was not just a game when we played Real. As soon as you arrived at Barcelona, you understood the political significance of the fixture.
“Under General Franco’s dictatorship, the Nou Camp was the only place where the Catalans felt safe speaking their own language.
“And Real were very much regarded as Franco’s club.”
Lineker’s hat-trick in a 3-2 victory over Real in January 1987 was one of the most memorable matches of his illustrious career.
Lineker scored 52 goals in 138 games for BarcelonaCredit: 2014 Getty Images
He said: “There were 120,000 people in there and I have never known a noise like it. It gave me goosebumps.
“I scored twice in the first five minutes, typical Lineker tap-ins!
“The hat-trick goal was early in the second half. It was a long ball from our keeper, Andoni Zubizarreta, their defender misjudged it and back-headed it into my path and I chipped the keeper.”
During his three seasons at the Nou Camp, Lineker was a rare success as a British footballing export.
He learnt Spanish, immersed himself in Barcelona’s culture and scored 52 times, winning the Copa del Rey and the European Cup- Winners’ Cup.
Against Real, he also scored two winners at the Nou Camp to bring his tally to five.
His compatriots Michael Owen, Steve McManaman and Laurie Cunningham all scored once in the fixture for Real, with Welshman Gareth Bale netting twice for Los Blancos and Scotsman Steve Archibald scoring two for Barca.
But Lineker expects Bellingham to enjoy a long, successful stay at Real.
Bellingham has already become England’s golden boyCredit: Getty
Lineker said: “I was 25 when I went to Barca but Jude had only just turned 17 when he went to Borussia Dortmund and 20 when he joined Real. It’s like going to university abroad — but with a lot more pressure.
“Going abroad at such a young age has given Jude a tremendous maturity.
“I remember at the World Cup last year when Harry Kane missed a good chance (against Senegal), and it was Jude who went over and told him to keep his chin up. I found that remarkable and so impressive because he was only 19 at the time.
“But you see it in the way he plays and the way he conducts himself . . . that supreme self-belief that the true greats all have.
“People mistake it for arrogance but it’s not that. Bellingham just knows exactly how good he is.
“A lot can go wrong in football — injuries, obviously, and also the idea that a young player can go off the rails.
“But I can’t see that happening with Jude because he is so mature and so intelligent and has such a stable family background.
“Jude has never played in the Premier League and perhaps he never will. Because the greats don’t leave Real Madrid.”
So how about the pressure of El Clasico, and the wall of hostile noise Bellingham will face in Barcelona tomorrow?
Lineker said: “I loved it and I am sure Jude will, too.
“It might help that the match will be played in Montjuic at the Olympic Stadium (while the Nou Camp is undergoing an 18-month rebuild).
“That might affect the atmosphere. Neither Real nor Barca are quite as good as they were a few years ago and it will probably be a tight game.
“Real are a point clear of Barca at the top and level on points with Girona, who have surprised people with a great start.
“Barca have been keeping a lot of clean sheets, and getting a lot of 1-0 wins under Xavi — which is a bit strange given the sort of player he was and the wonderful attacking Barca team he was part of.
They have had severe financial problems and, not for the first time, they are being bailed out by the quality of their academy, La Masia.
“They have five very good youngsters . . . the midfielders Pedri and Gavi, left-back Alejandro Balde, then there’s the teenage forward Lamine Yamal and another teenager, Marc Guiu, who scored the winner on his debut against Athletic Bilbao last weekend.”
But the most impressive youngster on show at this Clasico will be Real’s — and England’s.
So does Lineker have any advice for Bellingham before he faces Barca?
    Read More on The Sun
“No, I’m not going to give him advice for two reasons,” said Lineker.“Firstly, because I’m a Barcelona man. And secondly, because he clearly doesn’t need any!”

Cash-strapped Barcelona selling DIAMONDS made from the Nou Camp grass amid financial woes

BARCELONA have come up with a Nou concept to generate some extra cash to help ease their financial troubles. And it is by turning grass from the hallowed turf of their old iconic home into DIAMONDS and flogging them.

Barcelona announced in July 2022 that they were pressing ahead with plans to modernise their Nou Camp stadium.
The project will cost a cool £1.25billion and is aiming to be finished in time for the start of the 2025/26 season.
The huge redevelopment will see the capacity expanded from 99,354 seats to 105,000, increasing its gap as the largest football ground in Europe – with second place Wembley having a 90,000 capacity.
It is also set to see a roof added alongside a stadium rename in line with the club’s £237m sponsorship deal with Spotify.

That has resulted in them playing their 2023/24 home matches at the Olympic Stadium.
However, we reported how the LaLiga giants have reportedly put the entire squad up for sale with the club in desperate need of funds.
Superstars such as like Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele have all had to depart the club to balance the books over recent years – with the club understood to have been debt for as much as £1billion in 2021.
Barca announced a pre-tax profit of £263million for the past year last month, but that came largely from selling hefty percentages of future TV rights money.

And they still need to rake in more money as they are operating above the LaLiga spending limit of £234m.
Now it has emerged that the club have devised some other ways to raise some extra cash from the leftovers of their stadium refurb.
They are giving fans the chance to buy pieces of memorabilia from the Nou Camp by selling old seats from the ground.
The most-expensive available on their website to buy is £260, which comes in a wooden frame.
The cheapest, which are stuck on a black base, are priced at £86.
Barcelona were already selling pieces of turf that were ripped up when the construction work began.
But, in a unique move, they are available in more than just the traditional way.
Barcelona are selling a collection of ethical and sustainable diamonds that were created from the carbon of the grass from their final home match of last season.
The diamonds are made from the carbon of the grass and were then prepared for crystallisation using high technology together with renewable energy, allowing totally sustainable pieces with zero environmental impact.
Specialists have shaped each of the rough diamonds to “obtain unique pieces” and they all “come accompanied by a certificate of authenticity detailing the origin of the carbon, the characteristics of the diamond and the series certification”, according to Mundo Deportivo.
There are one-carat, 0.50 carats, 0.10 carat badges, necklaces and bracelets with the diamond extracts available to buy.

However, they do not come cheaply with the prices starting at £434.
The sale will run from Tuesday 14 November until Monday 27 November. More

Why is Barcelona vs Real Madrid NOT on TV this weekend? All you need to know ahead of Jude Bellingham’s El Clasico debut

REAL MADRID travel to Barcelona this weekend for a massive El Clasico clash in La Liga. The game marks Jude Bellingham’s first as a Real Madrid player, and he’ll be keen to impress on his debut in the fixture.

Bellingham has been Los Blancos’ best player this season, scoring 11 goals in 12 games so far.
Barcelona are currently third in La Liga, 1 point behind Real Madrid, who sit top of the league.
A win over their big rivals would put them at the summit of the table, unless second place Girona win at the weekend.
It should be a cracking fixture, but fans in the UK won’t be able to watch it.

Why is Barcelona vs Real Madrid not on TV?
Barcelona vs Real Madrid will take place at 3.15pm BST on Saturday, October 28.
But because of the UK’s 3pm TV blackout rule, fans over here won’t be able to catch the game.
The rule states that no football can be broadcast live between 2.45pm and 5.15pm on Saturdays.
Not many knew that the rule extended to games being played in foreign leagues, but the rule is there to encourage fans to attend stadiums on a Saturday instead.
    Most read in Football
Keegan Pierce, managing director of LALIGA UK & Ireland, said: “We’re disappointed that British fans cannot watch ElClásico this weekend, due to the UK’s self-imposed Saturday 3pm blackout rule.
“While we fully support measures to promote attendance up and down the pyramid, we believe the blackout should be limited to televising of domestic football, not overseas competitions, who have no voice nor vote in the matter.
“This is a topic we look forward to discussing with football stakeholders in the UK during the coming months.” More

Barcelona forced to apologise after spokesperson says Vinicius Jr ‘deserves a SLAP’ and denies he suffered racist abuse

THE deputy spokesperson for Barcelona’s board of directors has astonishingly denied that Vinicius Jr has been the subject of racist abuse. He has also claimed that the Real Madrid star “deserves a slap” for merely performing skill on the pitch.

The Barcelona staff member – named Mikel Camps – launched the stinging attack on Vinicius Jr in a now-deleted tweet.
He wrote: “It’s not racism, he deserves a slap for being a clown.
“What do these unnecessary and meaningless stepovers represent in the centre of the field?”
Following the tweet, Barcelona director Rafa Yuste admitted that Camps’ social media post was out of line.

He said: “If Vinicius is listening to me, I tell him that this will not happen again.
“Even if it was a slip of the tongue it shouldn’t have happened. It was an unfortunate tweet.”
Vinicius Jr has repeatedly been the subject of racist abuse from opposition fans during his time at Real Madrid.
He was abused by home supporters during a match at Valencia in May, with the LaLiga club subsequently fined £23,500 and handed a three-game partial stadium closure.

The winger was racially abused again during last weekend’s match at Sevilla.
After the fan was removed, a club statement read: “Sevilla FC condemns all racist and xenophobic behaviour and will work closely with the authorities to ensure that action is taken accordingly. This behaviour does not belong at Sevilla FC.
“The individual will also be subject to the club’s vigorous internal disciplinary protocols and have their membership revoked.”
Vinicius Jr later praised the Andalusian club for taking quick action.
He wrote on social media: “Congratulations to Sevilla for their quick positioning and punishment in yet another sad episode for Spanish football.
“Unfortunately, I had access to a video of another racist act in this Saturday’s match, this time carried out by a child.
“I am very sorry that there is no one to educate you. I invest, and I invest a lot, in education in Brazil to form citizens with attitudes different from these.
“The face of today’s racist is plastered on websites as on many other occasions.
“I hope the Spanish authorities do their part and change the legislation once and for all. These people must be criminally punished too.
“It would be a great first step in preparing for the 2030 World Cup. I’m available to help.
“Sorry to seem repetitive, but this is isolated episode number 19. And counting…”

Robert Lewandowski slumps over seat in despair after watching Barcelona team-mate’s awful free-kick in win over Shakhtar

IT’S tough to say what was more shocking.A horrific free-kick from Ronald Araujo or the reaction in the stands from his legendary Barcelona pals Robert Lewandowski and Frenkie De Jong.
Robert Lewandowski was stunned by Ronald Araujo’s poor effort and Barcelona team-mates were clearly also far from impressed

Araujo frustrated watching Barca players with his free-kick woeCredit: Alamy
Araujo spiralled a dead-ball so far over the top of the bar that it was more worthy of the rugby World Cup.
Even the Uruguayan defender smiled bashfully – helped by Barca edging towards a 2-1 Champions League win over Shakhtar Donetsk.
But Araujo’s rueful response was nothing compared to the expressions from sidelined Nou camp heroes.
Injured striker Lewandowski, 35, slumped forward in disbelief with his head over the seat in front and his hands spread wide.

And one observer noted how Barcelona have been spoilt over the years with dead-ball demons like seven-time ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi.
