His team-mates appeared to be fuming with the incident, with many backing Vinicius up.
The match was temporarily halted as the referee attempted to assess the situation – speaking to Vinicius as well as manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Tensions had already been boiling between players on the pitch, with Valencia defender Eray Comert having kicked a stray ball at Vinicius as the winger had attempted to run in behind with the actual ball.
The incident sparked a melee between players from both teams.

Eventually the game was set to continue with an indirect free-kick, only for Vinicius to take issue with the crowd.
At this point the 22-yeart-old alerted the referee, going right up to the stands to point out the alleged offenders.
Valencia’s Jose Gaya attempted to pull Vinicius away from the crowd, but the Real Madrid star was backed up by Karim Benzema, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eder Militao and Lucas Vazquez.
As the officials assessed the situation, Ancelotti spoke to Vinicius.

The game eventually resumed around nine minutes after the initial stoppage.
After the match entered additional time, players from both teams were involved in another furious confrontation.
Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili was booked for squaring up to Vinicius.
The referee was then advised to view the incident again by VAR.
TV footage showed Vinicius to have struck out at Hugo Duro, after being grabbed around the neck from behind by the Spanish youth international.
After viewing several replays, the referee opted to send Vinicius off, but NOT Duro.
Rudiger then held Vinicius back, with the winger sarcastically applauding the officials and flashing a peace sign to the crowd as he left the field.
You can’t play football like thisCarlo Ancelotti
After the match, Ancelotti had strong words to say about the various incidents.
He blasted: “You can’t play football like this.
“This is too serious, they throw a ball on the field, they insult Vinicius all the time, and they take the red card from him.
“What are we talking about? We are in 2023, there can be no racism We have to go home.”
Vinicius himself then tweeted: “It wasn’t the first time, nor the second, nor the third. Racism is normal in La Liga.
“The competition thinks it’s normal, the Federation does too and the opponents encourage it. I’m so sorry. The championship that once belonged to Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Cristiano and Messi today belongs to racists.
Spain is known as a country of racistsVinicius Jr
“A beautiful nation, which welcomed me and which I love, but which agreed to export the image of a racist country to the world.
“I’m sorry for the Spaniards who don’t agree, but today, in Brazil, Spain is known as a country of racists. And unfortunately, for everything that happens each week, I have no defense.
“I agree. But I am strong and I will go to the end against racists. Even if far from here.”
Vinicius has repeatedly been the victim of vile racist abuse in recent seasons.

He was racially abused by Atletico Madrid fans earlier in this campaign.
While he also danced in front of the crowd after allegedly receiving similar abuse from Mallorca supporters last term.

But he is now understood to be closing in on a deal that would see him grace the Nou Camp turf.
According to Sport, Neves’ agent Jorge Mendes has struck an agreement with Barcelona.
It will involve Wolves paying £26million and Neves in a part-exchange deal for Ansu Fati.
However, Fati, 20, is yet to give the go-ahead for the switch to be completed.

The Barca forward has contributed 26 goals and 10 assists in 106 matches, but has started just 11 LaLiga games this season.
There is pressure from all parties to complete the transfer before June 30.
Neves joined Wolves when they were in the Championship back in 2017 for £15.8m from Porto.

But it appears his time in the Black Country is coming to an end – with his contract up at the end of next season.
Neves brought his wife and kids onto the Molineux pitch following their final home game of the campaign.
Julen Lopetegui’s side conceded a last-gasp equaliser to draw 1-1 with Everton.

Barcelona want Kimmich from Bayern Munich in stunning summer transfer – and German is open to move

BARCELONA are tipped to launch a shock move for unhappy Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich. The German national team captain, 28, was said to be upset at Bayern sacking Julian Nagelsmann in March.

Bayern currently sit atop the Bundesliga table with two games to go, leading long-time rivals Borussia Dortmund by a point, but face third-placed RB Leipzig in their penultimate game.
Following Nagelsmann’s departure, Kimmich experienced a tense situation and divided atmosphere inside the dressing room, with many players in the dark on the sudden dismissal.
And he is reportedly excited by the Barcelona project after their success this season under former star Xavi.
Kimmich could fit perfectly into the role vacated by Sergio Busquets, who has announced he is leaving the club, and is a cheaper option than Martin Zubimendi.

The Real Sociedad star, 24, has four years left on his deal with a £51.5m release clause.
He is also likely to attract a bidding war in the transfer market, with Arsenal and Manchester United reportedly among his admirers.
Xavi believes Kimmich “would be perfect for Barca” with the German calling Xavi his role model.
The 2010 World Cup winner was introduced to Kimmich by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, who said: “I have a player who can literally play in any position.”

Kimmich has spent eight seasons with Bayern after joining from RB Leipzig in 2015, winning seven Bundesliga titles, three German cups and a Champions League, including the historic sextuple in 2020.

He has featured 45 times in all competitions this season, scoring seven and assisting 11.
Should he move to the Camp Nou he would rejoin his former teammate Robert Lewandowski, who made the switch last summer, and fellow countryman Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
The Polish striker has netted 21 goals in La Liga this season taking Barcelona to the title as the top scorer in the league with the German shot-stopper holding the most clean sheets.
Barcelona are also linked with signing Athletic Club centre back Inigo Martinez at the request of Xavi and could also pull off an emotional return for club legend Lionel Messi from PSG. More

Real Madrid reported over ‘illegal rule breach’ by Getafe and could have 1-0 win OVERTURNED

REAL MADRID have been reported by Getafe for an alleged “illegal rule breach” that could see their 1-0 win last Saturday overturned. The LaLiga giants beat their local rivals courtesy of Marco Asensio’s 70th minute effort.

Getafe feel they have grounds to overturn the result, however, as they feel Madrid botched a late substitution.
Boss Carlo Ancelotti brought Alvaro Odriozola on for injured ace Eduardo Camavinga on 84 minutes.
Odriozola had initially been due to replace Asensio, before it was determined that Camavinga would have to be taken off.
Getafe believe that the substitution shouldn’t have been allowed, however, as TV images appeared to show that Odriozola had entered the field when replacing Asensio.
    Read More in Football
Rules dictate a substitution to have been completed “when the substitute enters the field of play”.
Getafe have submitted an official complaint to the Royal Spanish Football Federation.
Real Madrid will have three days to respond to allegations.
And should they be found guilty, opponents Getafe could be awarded a 3-0 win.

Rules also state that “Once substituted, a player cannot re-join the match”.
Getafe feel that Asensio had been substituted, and therefore should not have been able to re-enter the game.
Should they be stripped of their three points, Madrid would fall a point behind rivals Atletico and down to third place with four games remaining.
Although it would have no bearing on the title race, with Barcelona having already won the league at a canter.

Man Utd wanted Cristiano Ronaldo to go to Barcelona instead of Real Madrid in 2009, where he could’ve played with Messi

CRISTIANO RONALDO and Lionel Messi’s rivalry almost never happened as the Portuguese star almost joined Barcelona. The former Manchester United ace broke the football transfer record when he left the club in in 2009 for Real Madrid in an £80million deal.

Los Blancos had already splashed out on Karim Benzema, Xabi Alonso and Ballon d’Or winner Kaka in response to Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering debut season as Nou Camp chief the year before.
But they were almost denied the jewel in returning president’s Florentino Perez’s masterplan if Sir Alex Ferguson had got his way.
The legendary Scot was desperate to avoid losing Ronaldo to Real once he’d accepted that the former Sporting Lisbon winger was set to leave.
Fergie had even said back in 2008 that he wouldn’t sell Madrid a ‘virus’ let alone his best player.
And according to Spanish newspaper AS, the United boss realised at the time that Barcelona were the only other club who could afford Ronaldo, who now plays his football in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr.
Fergie apparently contacted the Catalans to encourage a bid but the Portugal captain had already set his mind on a move to the Bernabeu.

Guardiola’s most notable signing that summer involved an infamous swap deal with Inter Milan involving Samuel Eto’o and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
But the acquisition of Ronaldo would have not only ushered in an era of pure dominance for Barcelona, but also have cancelled out his famed rivalry with Messi.
Whether Manchester City chief Pep could have managed to get the two to play together is up for debate, as he boasted an embarrassment of attacking riches while in charge of Barca.
While Arsenal legend Thierry Henry flourished for Barca on the left wing, Ronaldo could have occupied the opposite flank to leave Messi in the hole behind Ibra.
Yaya Toure and Sergio Busquets may have had to share a spot on the substitutes bench, with Spanish duo Xavi and Iniesta holding down the two spots in the middle.
Messi was asked by Mundo Deportivo last year whether he would pass to Ronaldo if the two were on the same team.
The Argentine joked: “I guess so, in the end, yes.”

Chelsea flop Aubameyang becomes league winner for the first time in career after playing just EIGHT MINUTES this season

CHELSEA striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has become a league winner – after playing EIGHT MINUTES for Barcelona. The Catalan club were crowned LaLiga champions on Sunday night after a 4-2 away win at rivals Espanyol.
Before his move to Chelsea in September 2022, Aubameyang sneaked in a single appearance in Barcelona’s team this seasonCredit: EPA
And Blues flop Aubameyang, 33, will recognised as part of the winning squad despite his very limited involvement in Barcelona’s successful campaign.
Before his ill-fated move to Chelsea last summer, Aubameyang came off the bench for Jordi Alba in the final few minutes of Barca’s opening league game against Rayo Vallecano.
That small cameo in the 0-0 draw may alone be enough to earn the striker credit for the league victory, the first of the former Arsenal star’s career.
In the Premier League a minimum of five league appearances are needed to allow a player to be considered part of the winning squad.
    READ MORE IN CHELSEA
But this rule is not the same elsewhere in Europe and means Aubameyang could be included as a league winner in La Liga’s records.
It would prove to be a silver lining for the star after a dreadful campaign at Chelsea.
The 33-year-old has made just 21 appearances for the Blues and contributed only three goals.
He was recruited by his former manager at Dortmund Thomas Tuchel to try and fix Chelsea’s long-standing scoring issues.

But within weeks of his arrival, Tuchel would be dismissed and Aubameyang would watch Graham Potter, Bruno and Frank Lampard stand in the dugout over the following months.
But he still failed to become a permanent fixture for any of those managers and likely won’t be at Stamford Bridge for the arrival of the incoming boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Few would have predicted such a calamitous spell after the forward’s electric form for Barcelona last season.
After arriving mid-season from Arsenal, the former Gabon international hit 11 goals in 17 La Liga games.
The Spanish side have been linked with a move for their ex-striker, who joined in with his former teammates’ celebrations after March’s El Clasico win over Real Madrid. More

Barcelona chief says he will ‘do everything we can to bring Lionel Messi back’ ahead of summer transfer pursuit

BARCELONA’s president has promised to “do everything” to bring Lionel Messi back to the club. The Argentine legend infuriated Paris Saint-Germain when he missed training for an unsanctioned visit the Middle East with his family recently.

He was then slapped with a suspension by PSG for the unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia – although they later backed down.
In his first game back after the incident, the 35-year-old was jeered and whistled by some of the team’s supporters in their 5-0 win over Ajaccio.
Messi now looks set to depart, along with world-record signing Neymar, who SunSport understands is another target for United, with a big-money move to Saudi Arabia.
And there is also a host of interest from the MLS in bringing him to the States.

However, fresh from clinching the LaLiga title last night with a 4-2 win at Espanyol, Barcelona president Joan Laporta has vowed to try and re-sign the icon.
He told Jijantes: “We will do everything we can to bring Leo Messi back to Barcelona.”
Vice-president Rafa Yuste also added to Carrusel: “Messi? He’s a very good friend of many guys who are celebrating La Liga today… I’m sure he is so happy! I would love Messi to come back.”
And Laporta has also now revealed that to RAC1 he has already been in contact with the superstar.

He said: “I spoke with Messi recently, we have a relationship with him.

“We exchanged some messages recently. Barca is Messi’s home and Barca can compete with Saudi Arabia and everyone.”
Messi departed the Nou Camp in 2021 due to the club’s financial difficulties making a new contract impossible.
He penned a two-year deal with PSG but the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner will become a free agent in June. More
