Cristiano Ronaldo trolled with new James Bond nickname after Man Utd star’s disastrous start to season

MANCHESTER UNITED striker Cristiano Ronaldo has been trolled with a new James Bond nickname following his slow start to the season. The 37-year-old – who also goes by CR7 – has featured in all seven of the club’s matches so far, though he has been restricted to just two starts under new boss Erik Ten Hag.

He has failed to score or assist at all, leading rival football fans to label him as “CR007”.
It was a nickname that Sky Germany created for his Red Devils team-mate Jadon Sancho last campaign after his underwhelming start.
Ronaldo was included in the starting XI for the Europa League clash against Real Sociedad on Thursday – the first time he’s been named in the line-up since the 4-0 loss away at Brentford on August 13.
But he failed to inspire his side to victory as United suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Spanish side.

And football fans have taken to social media to troll the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
One Twitter user said: “CR007, the new James Bond.”
Another remarked: “0 Goals 0 Assists 7 games They call me CR007.”
A third added: “Ronaldo is officially 007 now.”

This supporter tweeted: “CR007. No goals, no assist, just cheerleading and vibes.”
And this person commented: “Formerly CR7, but now CR007.”
Meanwhile another simply stated: “Meet the next James Bond.”
United fans were in agreement after their defeat to Sociedad on Thursday that Ronaldo has “CURSED” the club.
After losing against the Bees, Ronaldo was dropped for the next four games in which he started from the bench with United winning every game.
And then after being recalled to the team, United yet again failed to claim a single point with him leading the line.
Liverpool legend Steve Nicol believes that the player is showing signs of his age after declaring he “looked every one of his 37 years” against the LaLiga outfit. More

And the result of it all is that Hawkins has been able to resume her spot in the W Series.
Speaking to The Mirror, the speedster said: “I stopped racing a good few years before W Series purely because I’d run out of budget to continue on my motorsport journey.
A friend then tagged me on a Facebook post which said they were looking for a female driver with good car control.
“At the time, it didn’t say what it was for, but I just thought ‘I’ll send them my CV and see what happens’.

Her impressive showing in that led her to a chance meeting with the stunt co-ordinator on No Time To Die.
And it was full throttle ahead for Hawkins as she appears in the iconic film.
She added: “Bond was actually my first movie. There was quite a lot of pressure, but I was confident in my ability and I had an incredible team around me.

Aston Martin F1 team sign up James Bond stunt driver Jessica Hawkins who says cars were wrecked filming No Time To Die

ASTON MARTIN F1 team have signed up James Bond stunt driver, Jessica Hawkins, as driver ambassador.Hawkins, who had a successful karting career as a junior and raced against Red Bull’s Alex Albon, currently competes in the all-women W Series championship that will be on the schedule of seven F1 races in 2021.
Jessica Hawkins joins the team as a driver ambassadorCredit: Aston Martin
And the 26-year-old is also a stunt driver, working on a number of movies and the Fast and the Furious live shows.
She said: “I enjoy sending cars sideways as much as I enjoy racing, so as soon as I get the opportunity, I will be doing that in an Aston Martin.
“I am heavily anticipating the new James Bond movie and cannot wait to see it. I cannot say too much about the film, but I can say that not all the cars made it out alive!
“We filmed a jump which was about 30 metres long. It felt like I was as high as it was long.
“As soon as I hit the jump, all I could see was the grey sky and all I could think was ‘this is going to hurt!’ but luckily it didn’t, which was good because we did it eight times.
“In a Bond movie, everyone expects the stunts to be incredible, and that is what I was trying to deliver each time and I hope that everybody enjoys them.”

The racer from Poole will work alongside the team’s driver pairing of Lance Stroll and Sebastian Vettel and reserve driver, Nico Hulkenberg.
It is expected she will work with the team’s development and simulator roles in a similar move to fellow W Series racer, Jamie Chadwick, who is at the Williams F1 team.
Hawkins added: “Jamie has been at Williams for a few years and I am taking my first steps with Aston Martin.
“If others follow suit then great. I am big on women in motorsport and believe women deserve as many breaks as men do.
“If I can be a woman that helps to change motorsport, that would be amazing.
“In black and white, W Series has given me an opportunity and without them I would not have been racing in 2019. It really has been a second chance for me.”
Hawkins has been a junior karting champion, has raced in Formula Ford, Formula 4, the British Touring Car Championship, the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy, and the Mini Challenge UK Pro Class.

“We are sure that Jessica will work very well with everyone in our team, across a variety of disciplines, both at Grands Prix and in between them, and also with our many partners.”

He added: “If I had a month, I would tackle the UK. I have not seen that much yet.
“Obviously, with Silverstone I am an expert but other than that and the Midlands, I would like to explore the north of England and then Scotland.”
Ex-F1 driver and Sky Sports pundit, Johnny Herbert, says seeing the British car brand back in F1 is great news.

“It’s great we have that lovely British brand back racing. If it all works out, we have the Aston Martin brand winning races and maybe a world championship, it would be great for the British car industry.
“I also hope we see the best of Vettel again. I don’t think the enjoyment factor and the motivation was there, especially at the end at Ferrari.
“I remember seeing him last year in Russia, and he was looking forward to going back to a British team.
“That goes back to his happy days at Red Bull, so that’s very important. If Aston Martin can give him the tools, I think we will see a resurgence of Vettel.”
