There is zero evidence that today is Sunday. We are all kind of relying on the fact somebody has kept an accurate count since the first one ever— Robert Earnshaw (@RobertEarnshaw) May 17, 2020

Reckon I’ll get away with that excuse tomorrow if I don’t turn in to work Rob?— Jay Edwards (@JamesEdwardsLFC) May 17, 2020

Several footballers have grabbed attention for their odd opinions and tweets, such as Louis Saha being grateful for the “good banter” he had with his son over dinner instead of watching TV.
None compare to Earnshaw however, who has become the master of pondering the more obscure aspects of life, almost like a Welsh Karl Pilkington.
Perhaps his most brilliant ‘eureka’ moment came during the first lockdown last year, when he stated: “There is zero evidence that today is Sunday. We are all kind of relying on the fact somebody has kept an accurate count since the first one ever.”
Strange but true, Robert, strange but true.
He is equally as eccentric in his views on Monday’s, aliens and life itself.
And Earnshaw famously suggested that if Mark Lawrenson was a day of the week he would be Monday.

We cannot wait to see what fascinating comparisons he makes between the stars of Euro 2020 and whatever bizarre subject his mind comes up with.
Perhaps Gareth Bale could be a bowl of Coco Pops – cereal, after all, is another of Earnshaw’s favoured topics.
The former striker’s antics have grabbed attention and a significant following online.

If in doubt,Cereal is always great anytime of the day.— Robert Earnshaw (@RobertEarnshaw) June 13, 2013

The Second Tier podcast singled out four tweets representing some of his best work alongside a caption that read: “Gentle reminder that Rob Earnshaw is the single greatest mind to ever exist.”
Others pointed out that lockdown was getting to Earnshaw a little last year, particularly his opinion of bats and the outbreak of Covid-19.
Fans should be on the edge of their seats for match analysis when Earnshaw is in the studio as he is bound to provide non-stop entertainment.

ITV in talks to buy BT Sport in bid to make Premier League and Champions League FREE for viewers

ITV are reportedly preparing a bid to bring top flight English football back to free-to-air TV as they contemplate buying a stake in BT Sport. It was revealed earlier this week that BT Sport was being put up for sale.

The Champions League could also find itself back on free-to-air TV in the UKCredit: Reuters
And streaming platforms Amazon, Disney and DAZN were all touted as potential buyers for the TV network in a deal that would be worth billions.
But according to The Telegraph, ITV have now emerged as another possible buyer.
Both ITV and BT Sport have attempted to diversify in recent times, with ITV a partner in YouView and BT considering investing in ITV’s streaming service BritBox.
BT Sport is believed to be worth around £2billion.
According to insiders, ITV acquiring BT Sport would mean some Premier League and Champions League will be shown on free-to-air.
The network has held the Champions League rights since 2015 when they paid the best part of £900m for the competition.
Before then the rights were shared between ITV and Sky Sports.
It is thought that while ITV lacks the financial power of other buyers, it could still be able to afford BT Sport in a post-pandemic climate.

Eddie Hearn claims Kell Brook and Dominic Ingle dropped him over money as Matchroom boss hits back

EDDIE HEARN has accused Kell Brook of axing him and trainer Dominic Ingle for financial reasons.
The Sheffield welterweight, 32, cut his long-time promoter and coach out of a £2million deal to fight WBO champion Terence Crawford on November 14.

Brook blamed Hearn for Sky Sports turning their back on him and accused the Matchroom boss of being too busy promoting his new book to work on his fight.
Hearn tried to bite his tongue but Brook’s fans piled in on social media — and now the Essex matchmaker has hit back.
He said: “I’ve done a lot with Kell and I thought I was going to rise above it.
“But then I started getting people on Twitter saying, ‘It’s bang out of order what you’ve done to Kell Brook’.

“I have so many problems on my plate right now getting fights for people who are with me and I thought, you know what, I’m going to let you know the truth.
“It wasn’t like they came to me and said, ‘Let’s work a deal’.
“They were whoring themselves to everyone else first. They tried BT, ITV, Channel 5, DAZN . . . I think they tried everybody and got turned down.
“And then they came to me asking for money!”

Kell Brook (right) was one of Eddie Hearn’s earliest signings and has consistently boxed on Sky in the pastCredit: PA:Press Association
Brook, along with Darren Barker and Carl Froch, was one of Hearn’s earliest signings.
The promoter always defended his former charge over the ill- discipline that regularly left him struggling to make the 10st 7lb welterweight limit.

People are accusing me of hanging him out to dry — but he’s making £2m to fight Crawford and just didn’t want to pay me
    Eddie Hearn

He said: “What was so  disheartening for me was when he questioned my loyalty. I went way above and beyond trying to help Kell.
“I flew to Fuerteventura when he was in hospital after getting stabbed (right), sorting out all his  medical insurance, lots of things.
“We’ve had some good times and it’s sad really.
“I feel really sorry for Dominic Ingle also because he has done everything for him from day one and they have got a big cash fight and got rid of him for it.

Eddie Hearn says he is ‘gutted’ his relationship with Kell Brook has deteriorated Credit: LAWRENCE LUSTIG
“I don’t think he wasted too much time chasing the Amir Khan fight, I think he wasted too much time away from the gym.
“Lots of times I had to drive up to Sheffield to help keep him on track.
“But now people are accusing me of hanging him out to dry — but he’s making £2m to fight Crawford and just didn’t want to pay me. That’s all.”
Hearn seems genuinely gutted his relationship with Brook has gone down the pan.
But he wished him the best against Crawford, despite worries about lack of a proper game-plan.

Hearn added: “What I will say is, he is on weight. He’s trained hard and he’s fit, but you can’t just be fit to fight Crawford.
“You have to have a game-plan.
“Kell saying, ‘I’ve got one, I’ve been watching Tyson Fury beat Deontay Wilder’ isn’t going to cut it”.
