      Iker Casillas claims he was hacked after Real Madrid and Spain legend tweeted ‘I’m gay’ to millions of fans

      The World Cup-winning former goalkeeper appeared to come out, tweeting: “I hope you respect me: I’m gay.”
      He told fans via his Twitter account but did not put the same message on his Instagram or Facebook pages.
      He did not further address the comment and then deleted it – not before it had over 250,000 likes.
      He then tweeted: “Hacked account. Luckily everything in order. Apologies to all my followers. And of course, more apologies to the LGBT community.”

      Reports in Spain suggested it may have been posted in response to rife magazine rumours about his post-divorce dating life.
      It comes a little over a year after he split from his wife.
      The retired goalie and presenter and model Sara Carbonero admitted their love had “taken separate paths” back in March 2021 but said they would remain close to continue the “marvellous job” of raising their two children.
      Following the tweet, Casillas was sent thousands of messages of support while former Spain team-mate Carles Puyol replied: “It’s time to tell our story, Iker.” along with a heart and kiss emoji.

      The post comes just days after he furiously shut down rumours linking him romantically with Shakira – who herself recently split from footballer partner Gerard Pique.
      Casillas and his former wife famously kissed on air during a post-match interview after Spain won the World Cup and have helped each other through serious health scares during their five-year marriage.
      Former Spanish international Casillas, who had to quit football after a heart attack, said in an emotional Instagram post at the time: “Both Sara and I feel enormously proud of the family we are and of having shared a love that has filled us with happiness during all our years together.
      “Today our love as a couple takes different but not distant paths since we’ll continue together in the marvellous task of continuing to be devoted parents as we have been up until now.
      “This is a well-considered decision which we have taken through mutual agreement.”
      The 41-year-old, father to Martin, nine, and Lucas, six, with Sara, added: “The respect, affection and friendship will remain for ever.
      “Our priority is, through affection and compromise, to share the wellbeing and education of our children and protect them so they grow in a stable and healthy environment.

      The identically-worded statements were posted alongside a photo of the couple in happier times, showing Sara with her arm round Iker’s neck as he touched her hand.
      Casillas came through the academy at Real Madrid and spent 25 years with the club, making 725 first-team appearances.
      He won five LaLiga crowns and three Champions League, captaining the side before leaving in 2015 to join Porto – where he spent the final four seasons of his career.

      The 167-cap Spain international also enjoyed huge success for his country as the undisputed No1 during their golden generation that won Euro 2008, the 2010 World Cup and then Euro 2012 as captain.

      Schmidt starred for Germany in the European Athletic Championships in the summer.
      However, she only managed a semi-final appearance in her individual event and could only manage a fifth place finish with her compatriots in the 4X400metre relay event.
      And following the gruelling campaign she opted to take some time out to relax, visiting Thailand and then rubbing shoulders with some big names at Milan Fashion Week.
      Ahead of the new campaign, she revealed details of her training regime.

      The heavyweight legend made a stunning return in November 2020, more than 15 years after he announced his retirement from boxing.
      Tyson drew in an eight-round exhibition with fellow American great Roy Jones Jr, 53, on a Triller pay-per-view which sold a reported 1.6million packages.
      It then emerged in late 2021 that Tyson was in advanced negotiations for a mega money fight with YouTuber Logan Paul.
      However, those negotiations broke down and nothing has been reported since now regarding the icon stepping back in the ring.

      But he has teased his fanbase about another comeback several times by sharing images and footage of him in training.
      Now the superstar has done it again by posting more footage of him back in the ring on his Instagram page.

      ‘Iranian Messi’ Sardar Azmoun faces World Cup squad axe after supporting protests against repression of women

      IRAN star Sardar Azmoun has insisted he is prepared to be axed from their World Cup squad after standing up for the repression of women in his home country.The 27-year-old Bayer Leverkusen forward went against instructions from the Iranian FA which forbode members of the squad from speaking out over the death of Mahsa Amini – who died in police custody.

      Protests have taken place across the country, with two men ejected from a friendly against Uruguay last month after they held up an image of Amini.
      Then last Tuesday, protestors made their voices known with a megaphone outside the stadium during a behind-closed-doors match against Senegal.
      One arrest was made after a car was struck – with the perpetrator injuring themselves in the process.
      And Azmoun felt he could not ignore the situation, even if it cost him his place at the World Cup.

      Speaking on Instagram he said: “Because of the national team rules we couldn’t say anything until the [World Cup training] camp was over. But I couldn’t bear it anymore.
      “At worst I’ll be dismissed from the national team. No problem. I’d sacrifice that for one hair on the heads of Iranian women.”
      He continued: “This story will not be deleted. They can do whatever they want.
      “Shame on you for killing so easily; long live Iranian women.”

      Varzesh Media, an Iranian-based sports news agency, praised Azmoun for his stance.
      They said: “These past few days, like all of Iran, we were too heartbroken to write about sports.
      “Football? What’s all the fuss about when these people pay such a high price for their most basic rights?

      “He reminds us that there are those still worthy of wearing the title ‘national’. We will never forget your goal, Mr. Azmoun.”
      Two of Azmoun’s Iran team-mates, Alireza Biranvand and Majid Hosseini, also posted pictures and messages in support of the protests.
      Iran will kick off their World Cup campaign against England on November 21.
      Carlos Queiroz’s men have also been drawn in a group alongside Wales and the USA.

      The video of the vile incident appeared online for the first time during last weekend’s Thai Grand Prix.
      After it went viral, the Shropshire-born Booth-Amos soon took to Instagram to confirm that he had “kept quiet” for three years as it was his “dream to stay in the paddock”.
      The 26-year-old only lasted that year with the third-tier CIP Moto KTM team.
      He added: “There was a lot of issues with the team that year that was never spoken about.”

      That led to Espargaro, who is currently third in the MotoGP title race, telling The Race after watching the footage: “I saw the video, and I’ve never been that angry in all my career.
      “I’ve never seen something like this in a paddock, and I called [MotoGP sporting director] Carlos Ezpeleta and I talked with him.
      “I’m nobody to decide, but I feel like I’m one of the old men of this paddock after almost 20 years in it.
      “We have no riders’ union, but I think that it’s right that the moral riders speak up when something like this happens.”

      Espargaro, 33, added: “For me this guy has to be out of the paddock, and Dorna has to go to the courts with him.
