Martin Scorsese to direct new Mike Tyson biopic with Jamie Foxx in movie legend’s first boxing film since Raging Bull

MARTIN SCORSESE will direct the new Mike Tyson biopic film.
The Hollywood icon will take on his first boxing film since Raging Bull and will lead the star-studded cast including legendary actor Jamie Foxx.

Martin Scorsese will direct the new Mike Tyson biopic

    4

The film documenting Tyson’s life and career will be Scorsese’s first boxing film since Raging Bull

    4

Hollywood star Jamie Foxx will play Tyson in the blockbuster
The actor, 52, has bulked up dramatically to play the heavyweight legend on the silver screen.
However, with filming postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak, Foxx has used the time to give a series of interviews about the film.
Speaking on Showtime’s All the Smoke, Foxx said: “Martin Scorsese who hasn’t done a boxing film since Raging Bull has agreed to take the helm.
“We want to show everybody evolves. Everybody comes from a good or bad place.

“I think when we lay the layers on Mike Tyson in this story, I think everybody from young and old will be able to understand this man’s journey and the way we’ll place it.”
Scorsese has directed some of the best films of all time including Goodfellas and Wolf of Wall Street.

But the Tyson movie will be the first boxing film he has directed since the 1980 smash Raging Bull which documents the story of Italian-American middleweight Jake LaMotta.
Tyson recently told Foxx he was happy when he was skint because “vultures” could not take his money from him.

Foxx will have to go into a “dark hole” for the eagerly awaited film, according to his close pal.
And the actor has already embarked on an incredible body transformation as he bulks up to accurately depict the legendary heavyweight.
The Django Unchained star posted a series of topless selfies to his Instagram followers.
And he wrote alongside the photos: “The transformation begins… “FINDING MIKE”.

Tyson Fury sparring partner Jared Anderson – dubbed ‘new Deontay Wilder’ – slams ‘ridiculous’ glove conspiracy claims

TYSON FURY’S sparring partner – dubbed the ‘next Deontay Wilder’ – has slammed the glove conspiracy claims aimed at the Gypsy King.
Jared Anderson said it was “blasphemy” to suggest the WBC heavyweight champ had been guilty of any wrongdoing in his win over the Bronze Bomber.

Fury, 31, drew against Wilder, 34, in 2018 but in February avenged the result with a seventh-round win in Las Vegas.
Wilder was totally outclassed but his brother Marsellos claimed Fury hid blunt objects in his gloves.
While others accused Fury of tampering with his gloves and/or wraps.
The WBC have since cleared Fury of any wrongdoing – and Fury himself labelled the claims “bulls***”.

Anderson – who was hailed as the “hero” behind Fury’s win – said he knows what the Brit is capable of having gone head-to-head with him in the gym.
And he added that the demolition job on Wilder was merely a culmination of all the work in training.
Speaking about the glove-tampering claims, Anderson told told Pro Boxing Fans: “I thought it was blasphemy.
“I thought it was just ridiculous.

“Because me being a sparring partner and me seeing and me watching him and the way he punches, he did everything he did in the gym.
“He did everything he did in the gym in that fight.

“So the way his gloves open, the way he opens his hands, he open-hand punches because he has strong hands.
“He hasn’t broken his hand yet doing it.
“There’s no different glove or anything in his glove or anything like that. He’s just good.”
Anderson was credited with helping Fury win the heavyweight crown after improving his accuracy in sparring.
BT Sport released footage of Fury having his hands wrapped before winning the heavyweight title.
And despite Wilder’s head coach Jay Deas being present in Fury’s dressing room to oversee his hand wrapping, Marsellos claimed Wilder suffered injuries “no glove or fist was able to cause”.
But WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman backed Fury – who now is lining up two fights against Anthony Joshua.
He said: “It’s ridiculous. It’s difficult to understand.
“I was present in both fights, I was in the dressing room, in both fights. Both Wilder and Fury dressing room.

Hatton hails ‘inspiration’ Tyson Fury for shedding ten stone and ‘turning life around’ after spiralling into depression

RICKY HATTON has called Tyson Fury an “inspiration” for shedding ten stone and “turning his life around” after spiralling into depression.
The Gypsy King, 31, saw his life unravel after beating Wladimir Klitschko to be crowned world heavyweight champion in 2015.

Fury’s weight ballooned to 28 stone and he missed two years of action as he battled mental health issues, alcoholism and recreational drug use.
During his darkest hours, Fury admitted he contemplated committing suicide.
And Hatton, 41, could not be more proud of what Fury has achieved in the past few years.
Fury has come back to beat Deontay Wilder and be crowned world heavyweight champion – while helping the nation stay fit during the coronavirus lockdown.

Speaking on The Gary Newbon Show, Hatton said: “We’re not on speed dial as they say but I’ve known him years.
“You know I’ve seen him when he was going through his bad times, when he was ten stone overweight. He even beat ‘Ricky Fatton’.
“He was going through a really bad traumatic time and he used to say to me about making a comeback…
“I used to think, personally, I’m not bothered about you coming back, Tyson – I’m more concerned about your health.

“But never mind his health, he’s come back tenfold.
“To do what he’s done in the ring with the Wilder fights and after all his problems with all that.
“He’s doing his own little thing for mental health and stuff like that.”
    ‘THE REAL TYSON FURY’
Hatton continued by saying Fury has not only turned his life around, he’s changed the public’s perception of him, too.
Hitman – who was in Fury’s corner for his two fights with Wilder – added: “Years ago his reputation wasn’t the best.
“He couldn’t open his mouth without upsetting someone.
“I think now he’s on the straight and narrow and he’s doing what he’s doing, people are seeing the real Tyson Fury now.
“It’s the Tyson Fury I knew always existed but nobody respected a few years ago. Now they’re seeing the real man.
“From where he’s come from to what he’s done, he’s an inspiration.

Boxing fans warned ‘it’ll be expensive’ to buy a ticket for Fury vs Wilder III due to socially distanced seating

FANS hoping to attend Tyson Fury’s trilogy bout against Deontay Wilder have been warned they may have to dig deep into their pockets.
The duo are set to face each other on December 19 in Las Vegas at the 65,000-seater Allegiant Stadium – but there will be fewer tickets available for purchase.

According to ESPN via Boxing News 24, there will be socially distanced seating measures in place as a result of the coronavirus crisis.
In a bid to stop fight fans from potentially contracting the deadly bug, Top Rank will have barriers put in place between spectators.
Due to the high demand to watch the fight live as well as the low supply of tickets, it is claimed that Fury vs Wilder III will be the most expensive heavyweight fight in history.
ESPN’s Max Kellerman said: “Socially distanced seating means you’re selling, one would think, mostly premium tickets, right?

“You would imagine supply and demand for a ticket to a live sporting event, that supply is very low. The demand must be quite high, in fact, despite travel restrictions, I imagine. Have you heard anything about that?”
Mark Kriegel added: “I mean, look, think of it as an open-air luxury box. Okay, they have to be expensive.
“This is the heavyweight championship of the world. It’ll be expensive.
“It’s a high ticket item, but I think that’s the best way to look at it. You’re going to have to space this stuff out.

“It’s going to be interesting to see what happens if they can pull that off in any way.”

Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce to have warm-up fights before October showdown as part of bumper summer of boxing

HEAVYWEIGHT duo Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce will both have warm-up fights in the coming weeks ahead of their eagerly-anticipated bout.
The coronavirus crisis has twice pushed back a scheduled meeting between the pair, with a new date of October 24 at the 02 Arena now pencilled in.

It’s a boost for fight fans as their domestic dust-up will not be held behind-closed-doors.
But as they prepare for their encounter, the duo will each be involved in separate contests held at the BT Sport studios in Stratford in the coming weeks.
Frank Warren’s Queensbury Promotions have announced a number of bills across the summer starting off with the super-bantamweight bout between Brad Foster and James Beech Jr this Friday.
Commonwealth champion Joyce, 34, will then be in action the following week, where he will face Germany’s Michael Wallisch.

Wallisch – who boasts 20 wins from 23 fights – hasn’t fought since September where he was stopped by Joyce’s former foe at the 2016 Olympics Tony Yoka.
    BRITISH BEEF
British title holder Dubois meanwhile challenges undefeated two-time Olympian Erik Pfeifer on August 29 to conclude BT’s summer schedule.
Commenting on the news, Warren said: “I’m delighted to be able to give fans more clarity as to what they can expect from the huge Summer of boxing on BT Sport.
“Everyone at Queensberry and BT have worked hard to get these shows up and running and I believe this schedule is second-to-none in the boxing world right now.

“Daniel and Joe returning is obviously huge, headline news and scheduling these fights reflect our growing confidence that Daniel and Joe will be able to finally square off on October 24th.
“I spoke to both teams and they both said that as it looks like we’re going to finally do this in October, they’d like tune-up fights first. Thankfully, BT liked the idea and here we are.
