Deontay Wilder’s manager confirms he WILL fight Tyson Fury this year despite Eddie Hearn doubting US star wants trilogy

TYSON FURY’S trilogy bout against Deontay Wilder is still expected to go ahead in 2020 after the Bronze Bomber’s manager vowed the two are set to get it on again.
The duo are set to meet in Las Vegas on December 19 with the Gypsy King to defend the WBC heavyweight title he ripped away from the American in February.

    1

Deontay Wilder lost the WBC title in February after he was stopped by Tyson Fury
Wilder immediately invoked a rematch clause in the aftermath of his first professional defeat, and Fury is already training for his third bout with the 2008 Olympic bronze medallist.
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn revealed last week that he has doubts whether a trilogy fight will materialise later this year and wants WBC mandatory Dillian Whyte to face Fury instead.
He told IFL: “I’ll do Whyte-Fury. I’ll stick the dough up. It’s a huge fight.
“We haven’t heard from Deontay Wilder. He hasn’t been vocal about the third fight.

“But we understand the position. Tyson Fury has got to fight Deontay Wilder. Good luck, crack on. It’s difficult for everyone.”

But Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel has poured cold water on claims Wilder isn’t willing to fight for his old belt.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he simply stated: “Deontay will fight Fury this year.”

Fans are also desperate to see Fury and British rival Anthony Joshua clash in 2021 with a two-fight deal already agreed for next year.
And the pair even bumped into each other in Marbella just a few days ago, with the duo engaging in a chat.
Commenting on what they spoke about, Joshua’s promoter Hearn said: “It was amazing, people think it was a set up.

Daniel Dubois has dreams about finally nailing Joe Joyce on Brit heavyweight pair’s third date

DANIEL DUBOIS is dreaming about finally nailing his Joe Joyce grudge… on their third date.
The heavyweight pair – who were separated by a  protective screen at yesterday’s face-off – have seen their clashed canned in April and July due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

    3

And Brit champ Dubois has revealed the socially-distanced relationship has made Joyce a permanent fixture in his bedtime thoughts.
Ahead of their scheduled October 24 clash at a fan-filled O2, 22-year-old Dubois said: “He’s been on my mind since the very first fight was made and he has never gone away, even after the postponements.
“He has been nagging at me all the time, I have dreams about this fight. And yes I win everytime.
“It’s not personal for me. But this is an aggravating business and fighters just have to fight to better themselves and take no prisoners.”

The London pair will put their unbeaten records on the line at the Greenwich venue as long as they come through a keep-warm fight each.
Joyce faces German hardman Michael Wallisch on Saturday, before Dubois meets respected amateur Erik Pfeifer on August 29, both at the BT Sport studios in Stratford.

Despite turning 35 in September and having a silver medal from the 2016 Olympics, Joyce is miles off a world title shot because of the rematches and mandatories Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are juggling.
So he wants all promoters, managers and broadcasters to have him on speed dial if they need a last-minute replacement, like Andy Ruiz did a year ago.

Joyce said: “Beating Daniel Dubois spectacularly will help my case for a world title shot but I don’t really have a plan to get me there.
“I wanted the AJ fight that Ruiz got on late notice and won but they wanted an America-based opponent.
“If anything like that happens again, I want to be the first person on the list if another world title sub is needed.”

Dubois and Joyce face-off behind screen at Greenwich Maritime Museum as rivals close in on Battle of Britain

DANIEL DUBOIS wants to floor the bookies who have made him a red-hot favourite to batter Joe Joyce.
The 22-year-old British and Commomwealth heavyweight champ puts his belts on the line against his fellow Londoner on October 24.

Before that O2 battle – planned for a sell-out crowd – both undefeated sluggers must come through tricky warm-up fights behind closed doors at the BT Sport Studios in Stratford.
Dubois, the massive 1-3 favourite, expects to wallop Michael Erik Pfeifer on August 29.
And Joyce, 33, is currently the 4-1 underdog if he comes through Michael Wallisch on Saturday.
Dynamite Dubois said: “I prefer to let my fists do the talking.

“I don’t care about odds or numbers. I just want to fight. I am ready to rumble.
“Of course I will watch Joe’s show on Saturday, I wouldn’t miss any show during lockdown.

“Then it’s 100 per cent focus on him and me getting on and settling things.”
Joyce, who will be 35 in September, lost around £60,000 when his Las Vegas training camp for the original April clash was axed for lockdown.

But he could earn a large chunk of that back if he backs himself to upset the Dubois steam train.
Joyce said: “I would say I am the favourite but the bookies don’t see it that way.
“I am the underdog so I have nothing to worry about. I have no pressure and Daniel has it all.
“I was surprised that Daniel took this warm-up fight because Erik Pfeifer is no joke, he’s done two Olympics and I have sparred him so he is in a big fight, definitely.”
Promoter Frank Warren fancies his chances of getting around 18,000 fans into the Greenwich venue once lockdown is lifted.
So the need for both men to defend their undefeated records faultlessly has never been higher.

Watch as Joe Joyce and Michael Wallisch face off through a SCREEN and perform their best mime impressions ahead of fight

JOE JOYCE and Michael Wallisch made the most of having a face off through a screen as the heavyweight duo took it in turns to show off their mime impressions.
The pair are scheduled to trade hell for leather on Saturday night in a behind closed doors event at the BT Sport Studio in Stratford.

Joyce, 34, knows he must avoid defeat if he wishes to fight domestic rival Daniel Dubois for the British, Commonwealth and European titles later this year.
But even though there is pressure on him to deliver, the 2016 Olympic silver medallist was in a jovial mood at Tuesday’s press conference.
Joyce – who goes into the weekend’s bout having won all ten of his professional fights – performed his best mime routine in front of the screen, with Wallisch mimicking everything he did.
Commenting on the screen separating the duo, one fan tweeted: “Isn’t that a bit pointless seeing as the gonna be hugging and sweating all over each other on Saturday?”

Another said: “Jesus. What’s the point. They’re gonna (be) smashing each other’s face in soon. Stupid.”
Meanwhile one poked fun at Joyce’s mime work, as he quipped: “That’s the fastest I’ve ever seen his hands move.”
A fourth simply stated: “Top quality banter.”

Wallisch goes into the dust-up having lost three out of his last four fights – with all of his defeats coming by way of KO.

The 34-year-old is a huge underdog, with many not expecting him to live with Joyce’s power.

Mike Tyson, 54, turns down £16m offer for bare-knuckle boxing match with legend’s comeback pencilled in for August

MIKE TYSON turned down £16milion to make his bare-knuckle boxing debut – as he looks to focus on a comeback next month.
After the heavyweight legend, 54, announced plans to fight for the first time in 15 years he was inundated with wildcard proposals.

Mike Tyson turned down £16m to make his bare-knuckle boxing debut
Bare-knuckle Boxing Fighting Championship promoter David Feldman twice tried to convince Iron Mike to fight with exposed fists.
But he has officially given up with Tyson instead focusing on his return to boxing, which is supposedly taking place next month.
Feldman told Ring Magazine: “We offered Tyson $20million (£16m) and some additional benefits, but he turned it down.
“Who knows what’s going to happen with Mike Tyson.

“(His management team) said he was going to fight in July already, but then they said he was going to fight in August, so who knows what’s going to happen with him.”
Tyson has been training since March with MMA mastermind Rafael Cordeiro.

Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev could take place in front of 2,000 fans at London’s 02 Arena in November, says Hearn

ANTHONY JOSHUA could face Kubrat Pulev in front of 2,000 people at the O2 Arena in November.
The heavyweights were supposed to meet in an IBF mandatory defence in June, until the coronavirus pandemic KO’d live sport.

With British boxing making a return this month, and promoter Eddie Hearn set to stage four behind closed doors events next month, Joshua’s next fight is back on track.
And following the government’s announcement of reduced crowds targeted for an October return, AJ could find himself fighting at the O2 Arena for the first time since 2016.
Dereck Chisora’s heavyweight headliner against Oleksandr Usyk is also planned to have an audience in attendance.
Hearn told The Telegraph: “We are making plans to stage the rest of the year behind closed doors with the exception of those two events, which will be pay per view.

“We are trialling the world snooker championships with 350 fans at the Crucible in Sheffield and we are working towards crowds in October and the end of November for Dereck and then AJ.
“It may be a case of convincing people to attend, and going through the right procedures to get people into the O2 Arena.
“It won’t be easy, but it’s our ambition to do it.”

    2

Hearn named the O2 as the most likely venue for Joshua’s unified title defence.

Should AJ beat Pulev, he has verbally agreed to a two-fight deal in 2021 with WBC champion Tyson Fury.
The pair exchanged a conversation in Marbella, where Hearn revealed they urged each other to avoid slip ups in their next bouts.

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury discussed fight plans and vowed to meet ‘next year’ in Marbella encounter, says Hearn

ANTHONY JOSHUA and Tyson Fury discussed their proposed mega-fight next year after meeting face-to-face roadside in Marbella.
The heavyweight rulers were pictured having a chat in Spain last week, as they both holiday before their next title defences.

    2

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua shared a roadside encounter in Marbella
They verbally agreed to a two-fight deal for 2021, with Joshua, 30, first facing Kubrat Pulev, 39, and Fury, 31, rematching Deontay Wilder, 34.
And with the lure of an undisputed title decider to follow, the heavyweight rivals urged one another to avoid any unwanted slip ups.
Promoter Eddie Hearn revealed: “It was amazing, people think it was a set up.
“AJ said he was walking down the road and Fury drove up and opened the window and was like, ‘Alright?’

“I think he said to AJ, ‘Make sure you beat Kubrat Pulev.’ And AJ said, ‘Make sure you beat Deontay Wilder.’
“And they both said, ‘I will, and I’ll see you next year.’”

Joshua and Fury have agreed to a 50/50 split next year, with the winner in the immediate rematch taking the lion’s share 60 per cent.
But further mandatory defences are already threatening to scupper the historic Battle of Britain.

WBC mandatory Dillian Whyte, 32, has been promised a shot at Fury’s belt by February next year and the WBO have confirmed Oleksandr Usyk, 33, is next for AJ’s title.
Hearn admitted there is even a chance Joshua and Fury drop a belt to ensure they finally share the ring together.

Mike Tyson releases brutal footage of sparring session as Baddest Man on the Planet ramps up ring comeback bid

IT might not be sage to fight at his age, but Mike Tyson still looks the baddest and not the saddest.
The former unified world heavyweight champion, 54, edged closer to a comeback fight against possibly Evander Holyfield or Shannon Briggs with an even faster exhibition of his ferocious style.

Head down and coming forward, Mike Tyson suggested his style will not change, even if the era has
Legend Tyson appears well above spar in the latest video clip he has released after 15 years out of the ring.
This time Iron Mike focuses on his famous, swaying, head-down movement as he pummels both a punchbag and a sparring partner.
Tyson has been planning a series of charity fights as he aims to show the modern generation why he should still be labelled the “Baddest Man on the Planet”.
    DRIPPING WITH SWEAT
And although critics have questioned whether he could maintain his charging-bull energy of old, as highlighted in his new videos, he certainly looks increasingly sharp.

Drenched in sweat, Tyson appeared meaner and leaner, perhaps indicating he is serious about his return.
