Five opponents Mike Tyson could fight next after Roy Jones Jr fight including Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua

MIKE TYSON steps back inside the ring for the first time in 15 years this weekend when he faces Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition bout.
The 54-year-old pits his wits against his American compatriot at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Mike Tyson has stated he would be willing to fight Tyson Fury for charity

And Tyson’s trainer Rafael Cordeiro has already stated that the Baddest Man on the Planet will continue to showcase his talents in 2021.
He said: “He is very happy to do three more fights next year and suddenly fight for great things.”
Tyson himself recently confirmed he is willing to face Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua for charity.
Iron Mike told BT Sport: “I think they’re brilliant. They’re brilliant fighters. They could do so much for society.

“They could have exhibitions and take the money from the exhibitions, because they’re such big crowd pleasers and they could help so many people.
“There’s so many people out there that we can do so much for, and it wouldn’t even be a 10th of their charitable heart to do something like that.
“In fact, fight exhibitions with me, and most of our charity would go to people who desperately need it.”
With that in mind, SunSport looks at five possible opponents for Tyson after his clash with Jones Jr.

Mike Tyson’s incredible bodyweight workout routine
    TYSON FURY
The Gypsy King revealed he received an offer from ESPN to fight his namesake in an exhibition encounter.
And the WBC heavyweight champion stated that it would be an ‘honour’ to share the ring with Kid Dynamite.
Asked by Behind the Gloves about whether he would consider a bout against Tyson, Fury said: “Yeah of course.
“I’m named after the guy, I think it’ll be ironic, I think it’ll be legendary, Tyson vs Tyson, the old vs the new and it’ll be absolutely amazing.
“We can’t change time, we can’t turn the clock back, but we can deal with what we have today, I would love to share the ring with Mike Tyson, it’ll be an absolute honour in an exhibition fight, have a move around. It’ll be amazing.”

    DEONTAY WILDER
The Bronze Bomber revealed earlier this year that he would knock out prime Tyson due to his ‘killer instinct’.
To which Tyson said: “I just heard Deontay Wilder said he would destroy a young Mike Tyson.
“My thoughts are that it’s easy to talk until you actually get in the ring.
“I like Wilder, but he’s never been in there with someone that ferocious [and] who truly wants to break his ribs with every punch. I don’t see it!”
And Tyson recently called the 2008 bronze medallist out for making excuses as to why he lost against Fury in February.

    ANTHONY JOSHUA
Speaking in September, Tyson spoke of his desire to face the WBA, WBO and IBF champ despite their 24-year age gap.
He told TMZ Sports: “Listen, I’m very interested. If doing that means we can have a bigger charity exponent, well so be it, I’m down to do that, too.
“I would love to [fight Joshua]. That would be mind-blowing.”
However the chances of that fight is slim, as AJ told SunSport: “With all due respect I wouldn’t.
“Even if I fought Iron Mike and beat him, I think I’d be the only one cheering.
“People would boo. He is a legend. He is the greatest boxer of the modern era.
“There are only two recognised champions the world knows of, Ali and Mike Tyson — the most recognised faces in the world when it comes to boxing.”

    EVANDER HOLYFIELD
Holyfield twice beat Tyson in the 1990s, but he has teased a trilogy bout against his rival in the future.
Taking to Instagram earlier this month, he posted a picture of him punching Tyson.
Captioning the image, he asked his followers: “Who would like to see Holyfield vs Tyson 3?
“Or who else would you like to see me get in the ring with in an exhibition?”

    OLIVER McCALL
The 55-year-old former WBC champ last fought in May 2019, so it can be presumed he is still in good shape.
And in an interview with iFL TV in May, he called out Tyson.
He said: “I don’t think Tyson wants to get in there with me, I can tell you that now!
“Mike Tyson, now you talking about wanting to come back, but I don’t think you want Oliver McCall.”

What is Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr host Mario Lopez’s net worth, and when is Saved By The Bell returning?

WHILE most eyes will be on Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr’s mega-fight this weekend, host of the event Mario Lopez will also have his fair share of fans tuning in to watch.
Tyson and Jones Jr agreed to an eight-round exhibition contest earlier this year that was originally scheduled to take place in September.

The fight was put back to November 28, with broadcasters of the event Triller announcing that Lopez will be host for the star-studded night.
The 47-year-old has been working in Hollywood for his whole career and now has another high-profile job to add to his CV.
    Who is Mario Lopez?
Mario Lopez began his career as a child actor in the 1980s but his big break came when he picked up a job with popular TV show Saved By The Bell in 1989.
Lopez played A.C. Slater for five years and instantly became a hit with fans.

Since then, Lopez has starred in various films and TV shows, while he even partook on Dancing with the Stars in the U.S.

He was also host of the X Factor USA with Khloe Kardashian in 2012 and has done plenty of work as an entertainment host for Extra.
Lopez’s boxing knowledge is pretty strong too as he co-hosts a podcast called The 3-Knockdown Rule with boxing journalist Steve Kim.
What is Mario Lopez’s net worth?
Mario Lopez has amassed a total net worth of £18.8million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

They also state that Lopez’s salary for working with Extra is £4.5m.
It’s unknown just how much Lopez will be paid by Triller to host the event, but it should be handsomely.

Triller reportedly paid £37.5m for the streaming rights for Tyson vs Jones Jr, so they clearly aren’t short of cash.
When is Saved By The Bell returning?
Saved By The Bell was renewed for another season in 2019, a direct sequel to the series which Lopez finished starring in at the end of 1993.
The 10-episode season premiered on U.S. streaming service Peacock on November 25.

Lopez has reprised his role as A.C. Slater, who plays a P.E. teacher at Bayside High School.
The new series has yet to be renewed for a second season but is popular with old-school fans. More

Five opponents Mike Tyson can fight NEXT after Roy Jones Jr in Legends Only League

MIKE TYSON may decide to continue fighting following his clash with Roy Jones Jr this weekend.
Tyson shocked fans in the summer by announcing that he was coming back to have an exhibition bout with fellow legend Roy Jones Jr.

‘Iron’ Mike looks to have taken things incredibly seriously as he’s in tip-top shape ahead of the bout.
So assuming Tyson feels like he can continue to compete after his fight with Jones Jr, who can the former world heavyweight champion take on?
SunSport have picked five potential opponents who can face Tyson in his Legends Only League.
    Shannon Briggs
Former heavyweight world champion Shannon Briggs hasn’t fought since 2016 but has consistently teased at a potential comeback.

At 48 years old, he’s not too much younger than the 54-year-old Tyson and they both look in fantastic shape.

Briggs announced earlier this year that he’s going into bare knuckle boxingCredit: Getty Images – Getty
Briggs has even said he’s entertaining a foray into MMA and earlier this year signed a deal that will see him compete in Bare Knuckle Boxing.
It was even reported earlier this year in May that Tyson and Briggs were in talks to fight each other and now that both are back competing – it could be a clash that makes sense for both.
    Evander Holyfield
Old Tyson foe Evander Holyfield announced earlier this year that he was making a comeback himself, having retired from the sport in 2011 after beating Brian Nielsen.

There’s already some needle there between Tyson and Holyfield as they fought twice during their illustrious careers.

Tyson bit Holyfield’s ear in their world title rematch Credit: AFP – Getty
The first fight went the way of Holyfield, who knocked Tyson out in the 11th round of the bout, before chaos ensured during their second fight together.
Tyson was disqualified in the third round of their rematch for biting off a piece of Holyfield’s ear – one of the most controversial moments in boxing history.
    Lennox Lewis
Now this one seems a reach – and that’s because it is. But Tyson would gladly take the Lennox Lewis rematch if it was offered to him.
Lewis, however, has stated on multiple occasions that he has no plans to get himself off the sofa and back into a ring.

The British ring legend hasn’t fought since a stoppage win over Vitali Klitschko in 2003, a fight which showed Lewis was coming to the end of his storied career.
He beat Tyson via eighth-round stoppage before the Klitschko fight, thus ending their bitter rivalry. Or was it the end?
    Danny Williams
Brit Danny Williams is another fighter who knocked out Tyson as the 54-year-old was coming toward the end of his career in the early 2000s.
Williams stopped Tyson in the fourth round of their fight in Louisville, Kentucky 16 years ago.

Since then, Williams has been fighting all over the world, taking on all challengers in a bid to keep competing way beyond his best years for as much money as possible.
Williams was knocked out by Sergei Kharitonov in September and retired thereafter, but it would be hard to rule out a comeback if Tyson approached the 47-year-old with a lucrative offer for a rematch.
    Logan Paul
Money-wise, this could and would make the most sense for Tyson, who would have no problem dispatching Logan Paul in YouTube boxing crossover match-up.
Paul competed at cruiserweight for his last fight with fellow YouTuber KSI, just one weight below boxing’s blue-riband division.

Logan Paul hasn’t fought since his loss to KSI last NovemberCredit: Getty – Contributor
He’s also been linked with fighting Floyd Mayweather in a boxing exhibition. So maybe Paul could pick on someone closer to his own size and call out Tyson?
That bout would no doubt be a box-office success, and Paul’s brother Jake is fighting on the undercard of Tyson’s clash with Jones Jr on Saturday, meaning a relationship is already there to capitalise on. More

Daniel Dubois vs Joe Joyce tale of the tape: How do Brits stack up against each other ahead of huge domestic dust-up?

HEAVYWEIGHT boxing doesn’t get much more exciting as Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce prepare to collide.
The pair were scheduled to fight in April before the coronavirus pandemic put a halt to those plans, and the same happened in July.

Daniel Dubois vs Joe Joyce is one of the most hotly-anticipated fights of the year

But now Dubois, the British heavyweight champion, and Commonwealth champ Joyce, will clash for their two titles as well as the vacant European belt.
Whoever wins will catapult themselves into the upper echelons of boxing’s glamourous heavyweight division, with big fights against Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury possibly in the offing.
SunSport have taken a look below at how both men stack up with each other.
    Age and experience
One of the most talked about factors heading into this fight is just how experienced Joyce is and why Dubois might be lacking some.

Joyce, despite having just 11 professional fights, is 35, and is one of Britain’s most successful amateur boxers.

Daniel Dubois is 15-0 as a professional and holds the British titleCredit: News Group Newspapers Ltd
He won silver, but arguably should’ve been gold, at the 2016 Olympics in Rio and has picked up medals at the Commonwealth, European and World Championships too.
He’s also beaten former world champion Bermane Stiverne and title challenger Bryant Jennings as a pro.
Dubois, however, is just 23, though he’s had more pro fights at 15-0 than Joyce has.

The less said about Dubois’ opposition in that time, other than Nathan Gorman, the better.
    Physicality
Both Dubois and Joyce are big, big men.
Dubois has some of the hardest punching power in the division and stands at 6ft 5in, just an inch shorter than his opponent Joyce.
Joyce at 6ft 6in, also has a two-inch reach advantage at 80 inches.

A lot has also been said about Joyce’s engine, with Carl Frampton noting earlier this week that he’s never seen a fitter boxer.
Dubois is no slouch himself, but has only been to a decision once in his career, which is why he’s favoured to have success in the early rounds.
    Future fights
A win for Dubois, who is already highly-ranked with the WBO, could potentially see him in a tussle with Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua in 2021.
Joyce is ranked highly with the WBA, a belt which Joshua also holds.

On the night, Dubois and Joyce will be fighting for the British, Commonwealth and European titles.
All of the belts are expected to become vacant immediately after the fight so the winner can go on to challenge for world honours. More

How Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce compare ahead of HUGE heavyweight clash and who are experts predicting to win fight?

HEAVYWEIGHT duo Daniel Dubois and Joy Joyce square off on Saturday night with the unbeaten pair boasting 24 knockouts between them.
A stat made even more impressive considering they have fought just 26 times combined.

Both fighters go into their bout this weekend having won all of their fights

And you can expect fireworks when the heavy-handed pair compete for the British, Commonwealth and European titles this weekend.
Despite being 12 years younger at the age of 23, Dubois goes into their contest more experienced in the paid ranks.
The London star has fought four more times than Joyce – who only turned turned professional in late 2017 after winning silver at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
He has stopped four more of opponents than his domestic rival, though both men have knocked out all but one of their opponents.

Joyce goes into the contest as the bigger man as he is one inch taller than DDD, while he also weighed in over three stone heavier than Dubois in his last outing.
Though Joyce has showed off his shredded new physique ahead of the eagerly-awaited dust-up, where he is looking much leaner.
And it should come as no surprise that it is Joyce who has the reach advantage over Dubois.
But how do past and present boxers see the fight going down?

Joe Joyce is looking in incredible shape from his last outing in July
    TYSON FURY
The Gypsy King said: “Joe’s a big strong unit, Juggernaut, get in the way he’ll run you over. Daniel’s big and strong and youthful, fresh.
“They’re both good fighters and it’ll come down to who wants it more on the night.
“They’re both capable of winning, they’re both capable of pulling victories out and they’re both capable of knocking the other person out.”
    CARL FRAMPTON
The Jackal said: “This ones really interesting. Both guys are punchers. Dubois is technically better than Joe but Joe, even though he looks really unorthodox, he’s got an engine like I’ve never seen before in my life.
“The later the fight goes on the more chance that Joe has but I’m going to stay with Dubois on this one.
“I think Dubois will get to him at some point, probably a stoppage in the middle rounds.”

Daniel Dubois is the current British and Commonwealth champion
    DAVID HAYE
The Hayemaker said: “I can see it going both ways. I can see Dubois being able to stop Joyce if it’s an early shootout.
“But, if it’s not an early shootout and it becomes a boxing match, I believe that works in Joe Joyce’s favour.
“So I’m going to go with the man I know, the man I’ve seen take some beatings and soak it up, I’m going to go with Joe Joyce by points decision or late stoppage.”
    RICKY HATTON
The Hitman said: “I think most people will lean to Dubois slightly because he’s a man in form. He’s a little bit fresher.
“Joe’s had a very distinguished amateur career, maybe he has a few more miles on the clock than Daniel. He’s quite versatile Joe. He can do pretty much everything.
“His style is a little bit in-your-face, though, which might suit Daniel Dubois. I think it’s a 50-50 fight, but Daniel might be a little bit fresher. I think that might just make the difference.”

Dubois goes into the dust-up as the favourite to have their hand raised as the winner
    PAULIE MALIGNAGGI
The Magic Man: “My prediction is an explosive fight. Could go either ways.
“They’re both big punching guys looking for the big one. I edge towards Dubois at this moment.”
    LIAM SMITH
Beefy said: “I think it’s a top fight between two very good Heavyweights who are both on the up.
“It’s a good clash of styles. If Dubois has it in the tank, I think he wins, he’s better all round.
“If he doesn’t, and doesn’t do Joyce in the first few rounds, then Joyce could come on for a late stoppage. But, my pick is Dubois win, 4-6 rounds.”

    NATHAN GORMAN
Dubois’ former foe Gorman said: “It’s a real 50-50 fight in my opinion.
“I think lot of people are writing Joe off, but it’s a lot closer than that. Joyce has got a good amateur pedigree.
“Daniel on the other hand is a big power puncher, massive backhand. Under six I’ll favour Daniel, over six it’ll be interesting to see what happens.”

Anthony Joshua looks shredded in training ahead of Pulev fight but Lennox Lewis claims Tyson Fury ‘is more dangerous’

ANTHONY JOSHUA has shown fans his incredible physique in training ahead of his heavyweight showdown with Kubrat Pulev.
Yet despite AJ’s countless efforts in the gym, Lennox Lewis has claimed his fellow Londoner will still be at a disadvantage when he faces Tyson Fury.

Joshua has already verbally agreed to a double header to face the Gypsy King for next year.
But the London 2012 gold medallist is first putting his WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles on the line against Bulgarian Pulev on December 12.
And AJ has once again wowed fans with his latest promo pictures ahead of the fight that showed the boxer flaunt his incredible bulging biceps.
He captioned the snaps on Instagram: “Each fight holds a story.”

You’ve got Fury, he is a switch hitter and he is going into the fight with a lot more dangerous things to watch out for
Lennox Lewis on Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua

Although countless fans swarmed to flood the comment section by hailing Joshua, Lennox Lewis issued a word of caution to the Watford star.
Lion shared his belief that Fury will emerge victorious over his fellow Brit when they finally meet in the ring in 2021.
As quoted by the Daily Mail, he said: “The Fury and Joshua fight, you have got two big guys and they can punch and they can box.
“You’ve got Fury, he is a switch hitter and he is going into the fight with a lot more dangerous things to watch out for – the fact that he can punch with left hand, with his right.

“He is a slugger as well, the way he went after Deontay (Wilder), nobody expected that. He said what he is going to do and he did it. I like guys who box with confidence like that.”

Lewis later revealed that Fury’s height compared to Joshua – the Gypsy King has three-inches on his rival – will give him a lot of advantages.
He added: “I have always said that it is always difficult boxing taller guys.
“He is 6ft 9, you are not going to get any sparring partners who are 6ft 9 to go in there.
“AJ has to figure that out as well. It is going to take him a few rounds.”

Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr: Predictions from former rivals and pundits who make fight picks as legends return

ROY JONES JR goes into his fight against Mike Tyson as an underdog – according to those in the boxing business.
The American – who started his career as a light-middleweight – is also the bookies outsider.

He faces fellow legend Tyson in an eight-round exhibition on Saturday, and has been left with it all to do inside the ring.
But Jones, 51, only retired in 2018, meaning what he lacks in size and power he could make up in with activity and form.
Here SunSport runs down the predictions from fighters, promoters and trainers.
    Mike Tyson
Iron Mike did not have too much to say on the fight – only warning it will be all-action.

The 54-year-old told TMZ Sports: “Pain, baby, pain. A lot of pain.”
    Prediction: Violence

Mike Tyson fights for the first time since retiring in 2005
    Evander Holyfield
Holyfield twice beat Tyson and wants to face him for a third time after announcing he is also coming out of retirement.
He is backing his old rival to beat Jones if he lands one of his trademark shots – but fears if he fails it will be a snooze fest.

Holyfield, 58, told Teddy Atlas: “I think if Tyson catch him, he gonna hurt him. But if Tyson can’t catch him, it’s gonna be a lousy fight.”
Prediction: Tyson… if he can land.

    Danny Williams
Williams scored one of the great British upsets in a boxing ring after he knocked out an out-of-sorts Iron Mike in 2004.
But he still tips Tyson’s size and power to be too much for Jones.
Williams, 47, said: “I think Roy is going to get seriously hurt. He is a natural middleweight.”
    Prediction: Tyson

    James ‘Buster’ Douglas
Buster Douglas became the first man to beat Tyson, with his 1990 upset still considered one of the greatest shocks in boxing history.
He came into the fight a 42/1 underdog – and he gives Jones even LESS chance of repeating his victory.
Douglas, 60, told DJ Vlad: “I think he has a chance but it’s a slim chance. Slimmer than Buster Douglas.”
    Prediction: Tyson

    Amir Khan
Khan revealed both were an inspiration to him in his career, but questioned why they are coming out of retirement.
Still the former champion – who jumped from welterweight to middleweight in 2016 before being KO’d by Canelo – is backing the smaller man.
Khan, 33, told Fight Hub: “I don’t know what’s made Mike and Roy fight each other. I mean, they might be friends, I don’t know.
“But who’s going to win this fight? Roy Jones, in my opinion.”
    Prediction: Jones

Amir Khan has predicted Tyson will lose against Jones
    Freddie Roach
Legendary trainer Roach cornered Tyson towards the end of the heavyweight’s career.
They still keep in touch now, and Roach has no doubt his friend will win by knockout.
He told told Press Box: “I think Mike knocks Roy Jones out.
“But I did warn Mike that he has to be careful of Roy’s left to the body. That’s the punch Roy used to knock out Virgil Hill.”

    Tyron Woodley
Former UFC welterweight champion Woodley is another who has looked up to Tyson and Jones.
As a result, he feels Iron Mike’s power over the eight rounds will prove too troubling.
Woodley, 38, told Mike Swick: “I’ve studied them so much. I’ve watched so many films, so many fights with both of them.
“I think if Mike Tyson touches anybody, they’re going down no matter how old he is. I just don’t see him not touching Roy at some point in the fight.”
    Prediction: Tyson

Ex-UFC welterweight champion on Tyson’s podcast
    Jeff Mayweather
Floyd Mayweather’s uncle – a trainer – runs his own boxing channel, often asking for predictions ahead of big fights.
But in his own verdict, he tips Tyson to just edge out Jones.
Mayweather said: “Overall, if I would have to bet my money, I would pick Tyson because I know he has the power.
“And as big as he is, he has some tremendous hand speed.”
    Prediction: Tyson

    Oscar De La Hoya
De La Hoya works with Jones’ great rival Bernard Hopkins as they run Golden Boy Promotions.
And the American – who wants to make a comeback of his own – is tipping Tyson to come out on top.
De La Hoya, 47, said on Instagram: “I’m going to have to go with Tyson.
“But it wouldn’t surprise me if Jones Jr pulls something off – like he always has in his career.”
    Prediction: Tyson

    Jake Paul
The YouTuber faces ex-NBA star Nate Robinson on the undercard of Tyson’s comeback.
And he predicts Iron Mike will win the night’s main-event.
Paul, 23, told the Mayweather Boxing Channel: “I think uncle Mike’s going to take it home. But Roy Jones is looking dangerous too.
“I think [Tyson] is gonna stop him. Those punches look to vicious, I think round, fourth round he’s going to connect with one of those Mike Tyson’s uppercuts or hooks.”
