Promoters have 30 days to secure a host and time frame, and even then if either superstar does not like the package they can walk away.
But still, it has not stopped Joshua, 31, from getting down to work as he took to social media to show off his workout.
AJ was pictured training at his former Finchley amateur club but will be expected to move down to his regular team GB base in Sheffield closer to the fight.
Fury, 32, on the other hand has been more coy about his preparations, claiming to have stopped training until there was an official announcement.
The unbeaten Brit even said he was drinking up to 12 pints a day, but fans were quick to predict the Gypsy King was up to his usual mind games.
Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn was one to quickly to play down Fury’s remarks.

Hearn told iFL TV: “I don’t know whether he was in a bad mood or pulling everyone’s plonker.
“What I do know is everyone has put a lot of work into this deal and he is on board.”
Fury later attended an MTK fight night to support his friend Isaac Lowe, and reiterated his belief he could beat AJ even after a heavy drinking session.
He said: “I could drink 14 pints and still give AJ a hiding.
“I’m not training anymore. I only need six/seven weeks anyway for these bums.
“I don’t need no big, great sparring partners for a bodybuilding type of guy, I just need the local binmen.”

Anthony Joshua brands himself ‘the landlord’ after signing whopping £500m two-fight deal to face rival Tyson Fury

ANTHONY JOSHUA has dubbed himself ‘the landlord’ ahead of his undisputed heavyweight title fight with Tyson Fury. The unified heavyweight champion of the world penned a whopping £500million deal to face The Gypsy King earlier this week.

And AJ seemingly declared himself the king of the heavyweights 24 hours later by posting a picture with the accompanying caption: “The landlord.”
Joshua, 31, first labelled himself the ‘the landlord’ during a heated press conference with Jarrell Miller in February 2019.
And he continued to use the moniker after the American failed a trio of drug tests and was pulled from their Madison Square Garden showdown.
He said: “Good luck to the kid Jarrell Miller whatever he does with his life.
“As I said, I’m not gonna knock him when he’s down.
“But he doesn’t even deserve to be in the ring with me or any other heavyweight right now.

“June 1, MSG, still going ahead. The landlord will still come and collect his rent.
“And by the way, to Miller’s mum: ‘I still love you and if there’s anything I can do for you, just let me know’.”
Despite Joshua and Fury signing contracts to face one another, their long-awaited showdown is far from a done deal.
A venue for the multi-million-pound bout has yet to be finalised, despite a slew of offers from abroad.

And Matchroom Boxing chief Eddie Hearn has claimed there’s a chance the biggest fight in the history of British boxing could yet collapse.
When asked if all the hard work could end up being for nothing, Hearn told iFL TV: “Yeah, if people don’t like the deal.
“Ultimately everyone is going to go now and look for the biggest site fee as a team and then present it to the fighters.
“There’s no fight financially that will come close to this for both guys.

“Already the offers we have are considerable so I don’t see an issue with that.
“I just think some people are more optimistic than others.
“Our track record speaks for itself.
“We are the only ones to deliver a major fight in the Middle East with a major site deal and the people who we did that deal are desperate to stage this fight.”

George Foreman casts doubt over Anthony Joshua beating Tyson Fury in massive heavyweight clash

LEGENDARY heavyweight boxer George Foreman ‘cannot see’ how Anthony Joshua will beat Tyson Fury. The two British superstars are on a collision course to face one another in the coming months after signing contracts for the fight earlier this week.

And while many see it as a difficult fight to call, 72-year-old Foreman feels Fury is the firm favourite.
Speaking to iFL TV, he said: “That boy Tyson Fury, you’re going to have to bring everything you’ve got to beat him.
“And I’m going to be honest with you, I just cannot see Joshua beating him.
“But I sure would buy some tickets to see what would happen, I’m that curious about it.
“But that Tyson Fury man, woooh, Fury – I mean, how did he get the name?”
Fury, 32, was named after iconic heavyweight Mike Tyson and would go on to emulate him by becoming world heavyweight champion.
AJ and The Gypsy King have agreed a deal for a four-belt showdown this summer, but a location and date still need to be agreed.

Hearn told ESPN earlier this week: “We’d like to get a site deal confirmed in the next month.
“The hard part is always getting everybody to put pen to paper. But this was a major effort from all parties to get this over the line.
“You had rival promoters, rival networks and rival fighters. I actually feel we’ve done the hard part.”
A number of locations are being considered for the fight, but the UK remains unlikely if the coronavirus pandemic restricts organisers from welcoming a full capacity crowd.

Eddie Hearn says Derek Chisora and Joseph Parker could fight on ‘f***ing monstrous’ May 1 card

EDDIE HEARN has hinted that Derek Chisora v Joseph Parker is set to headline a ‘monstrous show’ on May 1 in what he describes as ‘the best card I’ve ever put on’.Chisora and Parker were originally due to face off in 2019 before the New Zealand heavyweight was forced to withdraw when he suffered a rare spider bite.
Chisora recently released a poster for the fight while talks were ongoing
But now, after the pair agreed to the fight on FaceTime earlier this month, it appears an announcement about the dust-up is expected on Friday.
When asked about his show on May 1, Hearn told iFL TV: “May 1st is a card we’ll announce on Friday.
“F***ing absolute monstrous show. Wait till you see the line-up. It’s a belter.”
Then asked whether ‘two certain heavyweights’ are featuring on the card, he added: “Possibly.”
Hearn then continued: “I think it’s the best card I’ve ever put on. I do say that nearly every week but I’m looking at it here.
“Every fight on the card could be a Saturday night fight night headliner.
“And actually, we’re going to look to announce five fights on Friday. At least two of them are too big – probably three of them – are too big to headline Saturday night fight nights.
“So it’s a really good card. Really good card.”

Chisora and Parker are set to clash in May
Chisora is coming off the back of a unanimous decision defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in October, his tenth professional loss.
Meanwhile, Parker is hoping for a quick turnaround after his recent victory over fellow Kiwi Junior Fa at the end of February.
The former WBO world champion’s only two defeats have come against Brits Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte.
Hearn also confirmed that undisputed lightweight champion Katie Taylor’s next fight will be announced on Friday.
The Irish superstar, who last defended her titles in November, is expected to feature as the chief support on the May 1 card against Britain’s Natasha Jonas.
Jonas has not fought since she drew with WBC super-featherweight champion Terri Harper in a thrilling contest back in August.

Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury: David Haye’s ‘controversial prediction’ as he warns Gypsy King to ditch Wilder tactics

DAVID HAYE has revealed his ‘controversial’ prediction for the fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. And the former heavyweight world champion – who twice pulled out of fighting Fury – warned the Gypsy King to ditch the tactics he used against Deontay Wilder when he faces AJ.

The two leading heavyweight superstars have signed a two-fight deal to secure a historic undisputed title decider after months of negotiations.
But Haye has sensed some complacency from Fury and wonders whether Joshua will be able to cash in.
He told Sky Sports: “Tyson Fury, who many do believe is No1 because Fury beat Wilder, and he’s the lineal champion, but I think it’s the perfect time for Anthony Joshua.
“Tyson Fury is on such a high. The victory over Wilder made him look a million dollars, his confidence will be sky high and I genuinely think Fury and his team don’t rate AJ as highly as they should do.
“That, in itself, causes potential issues.”
For the first time in heavyweight history, all four belts are set to be on the line.
Joshua, 31, is the WBA, IBF and WBO champion, who last fought in December, knocking out mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev, 39, in round nine.
And Fury, 32, dethroned Deontay Wilder, 35, of the WBC crown in February 2020.
CHELTENHAM SPECIAL OFFER: GET CHACUN POUR SOI AT 50/1 IN THE CHAMPION CHASE

Initially, they drew in 2018, but the Gypsy King switched tactics in the rematch and became the aggressor.
It worked a treat against the often-flat footed and one dimensional heavy-hitter Wilder, who was battered all around the ring.
But Haye, 40, feels taking the same approach against Joshua will be a recipe for disaster for Fury, with AJ far more capable of cooking up a fightback.
He explained: “If Tyson Fury attacks Anthony Joshua in the same manner, in which he did in Vegas against Deontay Wilder, I don’t believe it works in his favour.
“I believe he’ll be too open, too wide and someone as fast, athletic, and as skilful as Anthony Joshua will be able to punch right through the middle and take him out, and take him out early.
    “I know it’s a controversial prediction.”

Dillian Whyte cashes in on Alexander Povetkin bout as Gibraltar government commission £2 coin

DILLIAN WHYTE is already bang on the money for his Gi-brawl-tar rematch with Alexander Povetkin. To commemorate the bout, the Gibraltar government has commissioned a £2 coin featuring the pair that was minted on Tuesday.

The two heavyweights are the only boxers to feature on any sterling currency — and Jamaica-born Whyte is the first black person to receive the honour.
Whyte was unable to leave his Portugal camp to attend the striking of the first coin.
But his former head teacher and a handful of pupils from his old school, Lilian Baylis in South London, did attend at Tower Mint.
Whyte, 32, lost the August clash against the Russian after a brutal fifth-round KO.
But he demanded a rerun from promoter Eddie Hearn the second that he regained his consciousness.
The bout has since been postponed three times as 41-year-old Povetkin, a former world and Olympic champion, recovered from Covid-19.

The pay-per-view clash was moved from Wembley to Gibraltar when travel restrictions between Portugal and the UK would have forced Whyte to quarantine for ten days in a designated hotel before the must-win clash.
To boost Whyte’s camp, he has added Harold ‘The Shadow’ Knight to his training team.
The American coach helped Lennox Lewis exact rematch revenge on Oliver McCall in 1997, and then Hasim Rahman in 2001 — as well as being in his corner during a string of world- title defences.

Lawrence Okolie sets sights on the film industry after cruiserweight world title bout with Krzysztof Glowacki

LAWRENCE OKOLIE has a hell of a lot on his plate in 2021.’The Sauce’, as he’s eloquently known, released a book three weeks ago, a music single two weeks back, and will take part in a world title fight this weekend.
Lawrence Okolie has been preparing for his world title bout since the middle of last yearCredit: The Sun
But after his cruiserweight spectacle with Krzysztof Glowacki is over, Okolie wants to conquer the cinema scene.
“Let’s do a movie as well! Why not? Throw that one in there as well,” he gleefully exclaims in an exclusive chat with SunSport.
“I’m just in a space mentally and physically that I want to do whatever I can, because whenever boxing is done I’m going to be 35-40 years old, I won’t be able to punch as hard and fast and I won’t be able to make a rap video either.
“And then the book… that was very emotional, there was a lot to reminisce about. The story I’ve got to this day, being an Olympian, being a champion, is a story that’s going to help a lot of people.”

Okolie has already achieved more than he ever dreamed he could as a teenager. An obese one, with a lack of direction in his life, at that.
Now stands an adonis-looking figure in the ring with British, Commonwealth and European boxing titles to his name.
World honours are next. But with Okolie, from the outside looking in at least, it doesn’t always look like the 28-year-old lives the gym-rat lifestyle.
Under trainer Shane McGuigan’s tutelage, however, he promises he does just that. And even with all the glitz, glamour and opulence that comes with his non-boxing activities, Okolie’s reluctant for any of that to muscle in on his ring exploits.
“When you take that life too seriously they become quite conflicting, you’re up late, you’re at venues where there’s lots of alcohol, I don’t drink or smoke. I don’t want to be taken as a gimmick, I want to be respected,” he adds.
But the topic circles back to acting, which, post-Glowacki, he has tunnel vision for.

Okolie says: “Number one, after boxing, is acting… the one thing I can’t get the hang of is darts. I really struggle, I’ve tried my best and it’s just not working.
“So if possible I want to get into a movie this year. As a world champion I hope that will open some more doors.
“Like serious movies or maybe a TV series, as long as it doesn’t distract from boxing. I feel like if I’ve got two weeks off somewhere  let’s fill that up with other interests. Let’s go to the studio, let’s go to the film set, let’s just enjoy it.”
And what does his trainer think?
“Shane likes it, he tries not to say it too much, but he does,” Okolie says.
Lawrence Okolie joined up with trainer Shane McGuigan in early 2019Credit: Reuters
Something striking in Okolie’s approach to life is the lack of fear in everything he does.
He walked out to one of his own tracks before his fight with Nikodem Jezewski on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s title defence with Kubrat Pulev last December.
But that’s all it was, his own to listen to. That’s until ‘TKO’ was released as Okolie’s debut single on March 4. Another finger in another pie.

He explains: “I’ve had that song for a year. It was made during the first lockdown. I’ve got friends that are always like ‘mate, just do it, you’re not scared are you?’ And I’m like ‘no of course I’m not scared!'”
“I want belts, CDs, MP4s, music, films so when I’ve got a family, one day they can say ‘listen listen, you’re dad used to be really handsome!'”
But for now, Glowacki stands in the way of the first item on that list. An experienced southpaw with just two losses on his 33-fight CV, the Polish fighter has been bested only by Mairis Briedis and cruiserweight great Oleksandr Usyk.
Oleksandr Usyk is one of two men to beat Krzysztof GlowackiCredit: Getty – Contributor
Okolie’s power at 14st 4lbs is something to behold, though. And he’s expecting an early night.
“I might get Glowacki done in one round, who knows. I might go one better than Usyk or Breidis,” he says, straight-faced.
“The reality is, it’s a world title fight, you’re going to have to fight someone good for it. He’s a tricky, awkward, powerful southpaw. I need to be on my A-game 100 percent. And I will be… I’ll get it done.”
Lawrence Okolie has won the British, Commonwealth and European titlesCredit: News Group Newspapers Ltd
So what started all of this? Because there were certainly no dreams or aspirations as a 16-year-old. But Okolie has an answer.
“I wanted to get girls, man. I just wanted to get girls. That was it for me, I didn’t really have any major aspirations. I wanted girls but girls didn’t want me.
“But then I changed stuff and now…yeah.” More

Tyson Fury’s team ‘not happy’ over Anthony Joshua fight announcement as Warren claims Hearn broke agreement

TYSON FURY’S promoter Frank Warren has taken a swipe at Eddie Hearn after he let slip that the Gypsy King and Anthony Joshua have agreed a two-fight deal.
The 41-year-old – who promotes WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Joshua – revealed on Monday that the first undisputed title clash is set to take place this summer.

But his announcement that AJ will pit his wits against WBC king Fury has angered Warren, who insisted that both parties agreed to do a joint statement at the same time.
Speaking on talkSPORT’s Breakfast show, Warren said: “Everybody signed an agreement that there would be no announcements unless they were joint announcements and that came out the blue yesterday.
“We are all not happy but it is out there now – there is nothing we can do about that.
“But there is a long way to go yet in as much we have to sort out venues. We have a couple venues we are looking at and that is where we are.

“I believe it will happen when they get in the ring. We’ve still got a way to go.
“But everybody is on the same page to make this work. We are all collectively working to get a venue sorted now.”
It has been claimed that Fury and Joshua must agree within 30 days on where their domestic dust-up will take place, otherwise it may not materialise.
And there are up to EIGHT potential locations battling it out to stage it, including London, Las Vegas, Singapore and Saudi Arabia.

CHELTENHAM SPECIAL OFFER – GET THE FIRST RACE FAVOURITE AT HUGE 50/1 PRICE

Commenting on the scale of the fight, Warren added: “It is the biggest fight ever in British boxing, bar none.
“Two guys who hold all versions of the world title between them, both Brits, and it don’t get no better than that.
“It is massive. Nothing compares to it. I have been involved in some big fights over the years but they pale in comparison to how enormous this fight is.
“And in world boxing, it is the same. When you speak to anybody, all they talk about is when the fight is going to be on.
“Hopefully it is going to happen now and everyone’s wish is going to come true.”
