Dillian Whyte rips ‘coward’ Tyson Fury for reaction to Billy Joe Saunders’ dad getting shoved by security at Canelo bout

DILLIAN WHYTE has blasted Tyson Fury as ‘all mouth’ and a ‘coward’ for not stepping in when Billy Joe Saunders’ dad was shoved by security. As Saunders’ fight against Canelo was waved off with the Brit suffering a broken eye socket, worried dad Tom decided he needed to check on his son, and leapt over the barrier.

Wearing a blue cap, Tom was then shoved forcibly backwards by a security guard, before others joined in to help Saunders Sr.
One person who decided to stay out of the brawl was Tyson Fury.
Wearing a Versace shirt the 6ft 9in 19st-plus WBC heavyweight champion of the world stayed behind the barrier and appeared to be begging for calm.
But Whyte was NOT impressed, and slammed the Gypsy King for not stepping in and protecting Saunders Sr.
Whyte shared the video clip of the brawl happening, and wrote: “@Tyson_Fury is a coward how can you stand by and watch @bjsaunders_ father get treated like this and you didn’t jump the barrier and at least try to stop them man handling him.
“You are a coward all mouth #fightingman #ALLMOUTH.”
It’s not the first time Whyte has labelled Fury a ‘coward’, having angled for a fight against his fellow Brit for some time.
After his revenge mission against Alexander Povetkin, Whyte is back into the mandatory position with the WBC – the belt Fury ripped off Deontay Wilder.

But with Fury all set to face WBA, WBO and IBF champ Anthony Joshua on either August 7 or 14, Whyte looks once again to be out in the cold.
He waited over 1,000 days as the WBC’s mandatory to get a shot at Wilder, before seeing Fury beat the American and then having his own disaster as he was KO’d by Povetkin.
But Whyte got his revenge against Povetkin in March as he once again waits for his world title shot.

Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury date: When will fight take place, what’s the venue and how much will each boxer earn?

ANTHONY JOSHUA vs Tyson Fury is the fight EVERY boxing fan wants to see – and Eddie Hearn has given a huge indication of the date it will take place. Both are coming off big victories, and 2021 should be the year they finally meet face-to-face in the squared circle.

Joshua vs Fury – when will it happen?
Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury is set to take place on August 7 or August 14, according to Eddie Hearn.
Hearn said: “August the 7th, August the 14th. I think it’s a very bad secret that the fight is happening in Saudi Arabia.
“It’s the same people we did the deal with for Andy Ruiz, that event was spectacular. As partners they were fantastic as well.”
Hearn added that August 14 made more sense as the Tokyo Olympics was finishing on August 8.
He commented: “We’re very comfortable. Anthony’s comfortable, he knows those people.
“They delivered on every one of their promises last time, we’re ready to go.
“There’s no reason why it shouldn’t happen this week.
“This is kind of like the moment where you could actually turn around at this point and say, ‘This is dragging on too long, or I can’t be dealing with this anymore.’
“But we have to nail this, and I’m not going to stop until I nail it, and everyone has just got to move forward collectively.
“We’re ready to go from our side. We’re not far away from their side and it is inevitable, but at the same time, we’ve got to close the door on it.”

Joshua vs Fury – where will it take place?
As stated by Hearn, the fight is likely to take place in Saudi Arabia.
Anthony Joshua successfully regained his titles against Andy Ruiz Jr there while Tyson Fury wowed the crowd by making a WWE appearance in the Gulf State.
There, he was victorious over Braun Strowman.

Joshua vs Fury – how much will they earn?
A lot. That’s the simple answer. Both Joshua and Fury have already made upwards of £40million each for their respective fights with Ruiz Jr and Wilder.
So when they fight each other, expect the figures to be at last double that.
Hearn also spoke last week about how he expects the pair to make ‘Mayweather money’, referencing the grand purses Floyd used to pull in for his fights.

“It’s certainly I think, you know, the biggest fight, the most lucrative fight, in boxing right now – unquestionably,” Hearn said.
“That’s Mayweather money. You know? And we haven’t seen Mayweather money since Mayweather.
“I think it’s impossible to give a number. There’s no set purses for this fight because, obviously, it’s a revenue share. But it’s certainly gonna break records everywhere.”
It’s been speculated, however, that the pair could earn £80m each.
Joshua vs Fury – what hurdles are left to clear?
Back in the latter months of 2020, there were quite a few, but we look to be in a much stronger position right now.
First, Joshua had to beat Pulev, which he did emphatically with a 9th-round knockout.
Fury had been targeting a third fight with Wilder, but once that didn’t come to fruition, an interim bout with Agit Kabayel has been planned – but that also fell through.
It seems Fury decided his best bet would be to wait it out until he can fight AJ.
Joshua beat Ruiz Jr over 12 rounds in Saudi to win back his world titlesCredit: PA:Press Association
One problem he has, however, is Wilder, who believes the clause he exercised to compete in a third fight hasn’t been honoured.
Team Fury says the clause expired back in October, while Wilder’s side have gone the legal route to get that trilogy rematch.
Neither Hearn nor Fury’s American promoter Bob Arum expect there to be any way Wilder can win that case, and they expect Joshua vs Fury to happen.
Usyk is the WBO heavyweight title mandatory challengerCredit: Getty – Contributor
There’s also the WBO mandatory situation, and while not one that will prohibit the fight from happening, one that could affect which belts are on the line.
Oleksandr Usyk is the WBO’s mandatory challenger, but it’s thought the Ukrainian will end up fighting Joe Joyce for an interim version of the title instead.
Expect Usyk to be handsomely paid for that fight.
Joshua vs Fury – what channel will it be on in the UK?
This could be a tricky one.
Joshua has an exclusive deal with Sky Sports in the UK, and while Fury’s deal with BT Sport isn’t exclusive, he’s closely aligned with them.
Fury, however, has fought on Sky Sports Box Office before, most notably for his world heavyweight title win over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015.
Eddie Hearn says the fight will be signed in the next four weeksCredit: PA:Press Association
Don’t be surprised if the two sides come to an agreement where both Sky and BT decide to work together on a dual-broadcast.
In the U.S., the situation is also tricky.
Fury has an exclusive deal with ESPN, while Joshua’s last four fights have been shown on streaming service DAZN in the U.S.
ESPN offer a pay-per-view service for their big fight nights while DAZN work on a subscription-based model, making a deal for the fight to be shown on both channels difficult.
Arum recently said: “It will be a normal pay-per-view here (in the United States). ESPN will be the distributor.”
“Obviously, the big market is the UK, where everyone is talking it will do three million homes. Sky and BT both will have it on pay-per-view.”
DAZN will likely stream the fight for rest of the world territories.
Joshua vs Fury – what have they all said?
Joshua: “How close is the Fury fight? I promise you it’s happening.
“But until you hear it from me, don’t buy into anything. I’m serious about the fight so when I announce it you’ll know it’s real.”
Another positive meeting with @258mgt. They’ve informed me things are shaping up nicely. They will be sharing the update with Eddie and you’ll be hearing from me soon 👊🏾— Anthony Joshua (@anthonyjoshua) February 23, 2021

Fury: “I just got off the phone with [my trainer] Sugarhill Steward in America.
“We are going to smash AJ – one round, two rounds, three rounds. Done! Can’t wait.”
Frank Warren is confident the fight will take place in May or JuneCredit: PA:Press Association
Hearn: “Both guys are training at the moment, you know, with the understanding that this will be the next fight for them.
“So, whilst we can’t say the fight is signed, we can say that we’re closing in and it looks like both fighters are happy with the terms.”
Arum: “There’s no [Wilder] mediation. I mean, there has been over Christmas, and New Year, there was mediation
“I don’t know, maybe the mediator will be able to solve the situation, but we got a real problem because Tyson Fury has said to me and the mediator, ‘Not today, not tomorrow, and not ever’ will he ever fight Wilder after what Wilder said to him.”
Bob Arum says there’s no way Joshua-Fury isn’t happeningCredit: Getty Images – Getty
Warren: “But the fight, we are hoping to get it on and, if we are being realistic, it will be some time in May or June.
“I hope that in the next few weeks it is over the line. We are supposed to be getting some sort of draft agreement this week and it will be a two-fight deal.” More

And Hearn revealed to Sky Sports on Tuesday that the seismic dust-up will go ahead on either August 7 or 14.
He also stated that both men were happy to trust the Saudis because they already ‘delivered on every one of their promises’ for Joshua’s fight against Andy Ruiz in 2019.
No official announcement has yet been made but Hearn revealed last week that the deal was done.
He said: “That fight [Joshua vs Fury] is done and you’ll get an announcement very soon.”
The August clash will be the first in a two-fight deal, with the second bout expected to take place at the end of 2021.
It has also been reported that the fight could generate as much as £500million, with Joshua and Fury agreeing a 50/50 split.
Fury is unbeaten in 31 professional fights, with his only blemish coming in a controversial draw against Deontay Wilder in 2018, a clash many felt he won.
Meanwhile, Joshua has a record of 24-1, with his only defeat coming in shocking fashion at the hands of Ruiz in 2019.

Both men agreed a site deal last month, with the contest believed to be held in Saudi Arabia in August.
And Joshua tweeted his frustrations over the hold-up, as he told the WBC champion he wants to see ‘less talk, more action’.
“Spartan,” the 31-year-old wrote aimed at the Gypsy King.
“I’m tired. My fans are tired. Your fans are tired. We’re all tired of the talk. Less talk. More action!”
To which Fury, 32, hit back by commenting: “Come get some then you big ugly dosser???? YOUR (sic) NO TALK NO ACTION.”
Fury’s fans immediately came to his defence, as one messaged: “Mate he doesn’t wanna fight no minerals you will end his career.”
Another remarked: “Anthony Joshua has ran scared of both Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder.
“He knows either one would destroy him. If this wasn’t the case the fight would’ve been done by now.”

Watch as Deontay Wilder gets back into shape and trains iconic punching power ahead of ring return after Tyson Fury loss

DEONTAY WILDER has shown off some new moves as he continues to train for his big boxing comeback. The American has not fought since he was battered by Tyson Fury in February last year.
Deposed WBC champ Deontay Wilder is back in training with Malik Scott
Wilder also showed off some ducking and diving – skills he rarely shows off in the ring
The defeat saw him lose his WBC heavyweight belt as well as his undefeated record.
But Wilder is back in training, and continues to be put through his paces by fellow heavyweight Malik Scott.
Scott uploaded a video on Instagram of him having a ‘late night session’ with ‘the future 2X heavyweight champion of the world’.
And Wilder seemed to be focusing on hitting and moving – something that he didn’t do when he was floored twice on route to losing to Fury.
Scott was Wilder’s 31st pro career victim when he was flattened in the first round of their 2014 contest.
Since then, the pair have struck up a good relationship and the 40-year-old was enlisted to help train Wilder after they began sparring.
The former world champ, 35, fired coach Mark Breland following the Fury defeat.
But it seems unlikely that Wilder will get the revenge rematch against Tyson Fury.

BILLY JOE SAUNDERS’ head coach Mark Tibbs has defended his stoppage of the Canelo Alvarez fight – insisting his ‘love’ for the Brit prevented him from sending him back into the fire.Tibbs threw in the towel after the eighth-round of the Hatfield hitman’s super-middleweight title unification fight with the pound-for-pound king last weekend.

Former WBO champ Saunders suffered a quadripod fracture to his right orbital bone courtesy of a vicious counter uppercut from Canelo and was left unable to see out of his lead eye.
Tibbs told iFL TV: “It’s never easy. It’s never easy in a moment like that.
“But his leading eye was damaged and I’ve got too much love for the man to send him out there or ask him to go out there.”
Saunders, 31, boxed well against the Mexican mauler before his fractured orbital put him in survival mode.
Tibbs said: “For me, he was starting to build momentum.
“He got that eye socket – it looks broke to me – and then obviously, you know, the game falls apart.”

He added: “For me, I would’ve rather kept it long. Long and slick and awkward. Long, slick and awkward, that’s what I wanted.
“But I guess Billy’s got a fighting heart. Listen, when someone is walking you down like that, you’ve got to stand at times.
“It come off, actually. He put a good left uppercut and right hook or a right uppercut and left hook, one of the two.
“But he done well. But he done well up until the point he got injured.”
Tibbs was furious with claims Saunders quit on his stool, telling Behind the Gloves: “His eye socket was caved in and he couldn’t see. I didn’t get the response from him so, you know.

“He never said, ‘No, that’s it,’ he left it to me.
“He took it well, but he was in pain. The eye socket was gone and he was in pain.”
Southpaw Saunders has undergone surgery on his orbital and is expected to be on the sidelines for the foreseeable future.
His promoter, Eddie Hearn, told iFL TV: “You could see as soon as he hit him that he’d done his eye socket.

“He’s gone to hospital and I believe he’ll have that operated on immediately. So he’s going to be out for a long, long time.
    “But he’s a world-class fighter who lost to the pound-for-pound number one. He’s a two-weight world champion.
“If he wants to carry on there’s some big fights out there for him.
“He may feel he has got to a stage where he’s been there, he’s done it, he’s seen it all. We’ll back him 100 per cent.”
