Anthony Joshua wants to sit down with Tyson Fury’s dad for Guinness and talk boxing after Deontay Wilder fight claims

ANTHONY JOSHUA praised John Fury for his criticism of son Tyson’s fight with Deontay Wilder – now the Watford star wants to have a pint and talk with the former fighter. The Brits were due to do battle to unify the heavyweight division in August, only for the Gypsy King’s camp to be drawn into the trilogy contest.

Following the saga, Tyson’s dad, John, slammed the ‘leeches’ in the 32-year-old’s camp for changing course.
And his claims have earned respect from Joshua, who has revealed his desire to discuss boxing over a Guinness with the 57-year-old former boxer.
AJ posted on his Snapchat, via talkSPORT: “I’ve got a lot of time for this interview, good listen.
“Some massive statements have been made if you listen carefully.
“I would want to sit down with JF, have a Guinness and talk fighting.”
Joshua is now set to face Oleksandr Usyk while Fury takes on Wilder for a third time, on July 14 in Las Vegas.
It means fans will have to wait for the heavyweight champions’ showdown, which John Fury had also wanted to see.
Tyson’s dad told BT Sport that he fears the opportunity has been lost with ‘complacency’ and ‘fair play’ an issue when facing Wilder again.

He stated: “Anything rushed is no good, and that’s been rushed.
“He was fighting AJ. I wanted him to fight AJ. I’ve no interest in Deontay Wilder, so why has he got to fight Wilder?
“I told him on a phone conversation, ‘Chuck the belt in the bin. Let them have it. Come back and fight AJ on the 14th of August, like was planned’.”
Fury Sr added: “I’m just concerned whether Tyson can raise his game for Wilder.
“Whether he gets complacent, makes a mistake, I don’t know. It’s got every chance of going wrong out there.
“Because I don’t like how it’s been handled.
“It’s been badly handled and that’s just my opinion, no-one else’s.”

Tyson Fury’s promoter Frank Warren warns Anthony Joshua to not ‘slip up’ in next fight and wants December British scrap

FRANK WARREN fired a warning to Anthony Joshua that he better not ‘slip up’ against Oleksandr Usyk and ruin a showdown with Tyson Fury.AJ has been ordered to fight his WBO mandatory challenger next while Fury has a third fight with Deontay Wilder lined up.

The British heavyweight kings looked set to meet in August in Saudi Arabia but their long-anticipated showdown fell through.
But, writing in his Daily Star column, promoter Warren said Fury still wants to fight AJ this year after he’s done with Wilder.
Warren wrote: “Tyson Fury is facing Deontay Wilder next – but let’s make it very clear now that we want Anthony Joshua in December.
“My message to Joshua is if you defend the WBO title against Oleksandr Usyk then make sure you don’t slip up.
“We will be waiting in December once Fury wipes the floor with Wilder again this summer.”
Warren also reckons that Joe Joyce could step in and face Usyk if AJ vacates the WBO belt.
But he thinks that would be a shame as it would mean an AJ vs Fury bout would not be for all four major heavyweight titles.
The promoter wrote: “There won’t be any running from Joyce as he has been patiently biding his time for that fight.
“Joyce won’t fear facing Usyk if Joshua decides he doesn’t want to face his mandatory challenger.”
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SPECIAL 40/1 FOR PHIL FODEN TO HAVE A SHOT ON TARGET

Fury’s brother Tommy also warned Joshua not to scupper the long-awaited Battle of Britain by losing to the Ukrainian.
He told talkSPORT: “You can’t let that go by. Both men aren’t ancient.
“It’s not like they’re 35 or 36, both are in the prime of their lives whether it’s going to be this year or next it doesn’t really matter.
“Both men just have to secure it from their sides. I know Tyson is going to secure it, so it’s really on AJ not to mess up like he did before.
“He’s got to take care of his business.”
Fury dethroned Wilder last February in Las Vegas to complete a remarkable return to the sport.
And Tommy is adamant his older brother will turn in a repeat performance in their Sin City trilogy fight.
He said: “Tyson’s mindset and his team’s mindset is he doesn’t care. He’s the best fighter on the planet.

“It doesn’t matter if he’s fighting Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder.
“That AJ fight is going to come. He’s going to knock Wilder out this time and he’s going to wish he’d never picked up the phone to fight.
“It is what it is, he’s in the mindset now, he’s absolutely untouchable, there’s no one beating Tyson but himself, that’s just the bottom line.
“He’s not bothered about who he fights. You’re going to see the best Tyson Fury.
“It shocked all of us as it was all done and cemented.

“Everyone working with Tyson and the other side of it was all confirmed and then suddenly there was a slip up and he’s fighting Wilder.
“That just shows the craziness of boxing. When something’s nailed on it’s not really nailed on.
“You never know what’s going to happen.
“I’m sure it’s going to be a great fight again and hopefully we can see the Joshua fight before the end of the year and if not maybe next year.
“I think it will still happen as it’s too big of a fight not to happen. This is one of the biggest fights ever.”

Tyson Fury’s dad John worried his son could LOSE Wilder trilogy and hits out at ‘leeches’ surrounding WBC champ

JOHN FURY has slammed the circumstances that led to son Tyson’s fight with Anthony Joshua being abandoned in favour of a third match-up against Deontay Wilder. And he is worried the Gypsy King could LOSE his trilogy bout against his American rival.

Fury Jr will defend his WBC belt against the American in Las Vegas on July 24 having previously hoped to face AJ to unify the division.
The timeline of the agreement, which was forced upon Fury after an arbitration ruling in the US, has led to dad John describing the scenario as ‘diabolical’ and a ‘mistake’.
In an interview with BT Sport, the 57-year-old blamed the American influence in his son’s camp, with some members deemed ‘leeches’.
He stated: “Tyson, obviously, is in a different league now – 20,000 yes men around him.
“This is what happens when you get to the top. There’s lot of leeches out there, a lot of hangers on.
“You can see what’s happening out there in America with him. Appalling work, to be honest with you.
    “But that’s just my opinion, I’m straightforward. That’s Tyson’s business, he’s over 21. It’s up to him.”

Fury Sr added his fear that the heavyweight unification battle may never happen with both Tyson and AJ vulnerable to defeat in their upcoming fights.
Joshua is set to face Oleksandr Usyk in defence of his world titles later this year.
Fury continued: “Anything rushed is no good, and that’s been rushed.
“He was fighting AJ. I wanted him to fight AJ. I’ve no interest in Deontay Wilder, so why has he got to fight Wilder?
“I told him on a phone conversation, ‘Chuck the belt in the bin. Let them have it. Come back and fight AJ on the 14th of August, like was planned.'”
He added: “I’m just concerned whether Tyson can raise his game for Wilder.
It’s madness, and my son’s caught up in the middle of it. And I’m not a happy man, about any of it.John Fury
“Whether he gets complacent, makes a mistake, I don’t know. It’s got every chance of going wrong out there.
“Because I don’t like how it’s been handled. It’s been badly handled and that’s just my opinion, no-one else’s.
“Tyson knows what he’s doing. Tyson, get back on a plane, let’s have a look at the situation properly. Let’s assess it. But there’s no bright lights and glitz here, Wythenshawe.”
John Fury is chiefly concerned about ‘fair play’ impacting Tyson’s trilogy showdown with Wilder.

The 32-year-old’s stunning win over the Bronze Bomber ’embarrassed’ the American boxing powers who he believes have ‘trapped’ the pair into another fight.
The former fighter noted: “I just feel like they’ve done it all wrong. They’ve done it on the 11th hour when everybody knew about the arbitration.
“And I was told the arbitration was under control – it’s not a problem. All of a sudden at the 11th hour, it is a problem.
“Madness, but the only problem is, it’s madness, and my son’s caught up in the middle of it. And I’m not a happy man, about any of it.”

Drugs cheat Jarrell Miller helping plot Daniel Dubois’ downfall after sparring with Bogdan Dinu ahead of fight

JARRELL MILLER has been helping plot Daniel Dubois’ downfall by sparring with Bogdan Dinu. Dubois returns to the ring on June 5 against Dinu, fighting for the vacant WBA ‘interim’ title.

And to prepare for the Brit, he drafted in the help of drugs cheat Miller, whose last fight was actually against the Romanian.
Dinu, 34, said: “Jarrell has a great style and I needed him for this fight. The preparation has been one of the best I have had.
“It has been a great training camp with good sparring, good coaches and I’m healthy.
“It has been good having Jarrell Miller in camp. He puts good pressure on, is heavy handed and is a strong guy. That is what I need for big fights like this.
“He is a nice guy, a funny guy and we train together. After every spar he gives me advice on what he believes will work in the fight
“I think it is a big difference between Dubois and Jarrell. Jarrell has power, skills, experience.”
Miller, 32, beat Dinu in November 2018 but has been out the ring since due to a series of failed drug tests.
It started in April 2019 before he was set to challenge Anthony Joshua, 31, for the unified titles.

But Miller was later ruled out after returning THREE failed tests for banned substances GW1516, HGH and EPO.
The disgraced heavyweight attempted to claim they stemmed from a tainted supplement and injection into his elbow to treat an injury.
Miller later signed with US promotion Top Rank but his June 2020 comeback fight was also scrapped after another failed test.
Again, it was revealed he tested positive for GW501516 – commonly used to burn fat.
Miller for a second time protested his innocence and even put the finding down to a SEX PILL and vowed to clear his name.
The only thing currently hanging above his name is a two-year boxing ban from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Fury, 32, has clearly been over the moon to be back in the company of his soul mate – posting several snaps and videos of her to his Instagram.
And in a recent story update, the WBC heavyweight champion showered his doting wife with even more admiration.
On Wednesday morning, Fury uploaded a video of himself and Paris having a smooch.
A chipper and cheerful Fury said: “Good morning, Paris.”

Fury then professed his love for his wife by saying: “Je suis Paris.”
The Furys are currently enjoying some downtime in Miami before Tyson begins his training camp for Deontay Wilder.
Fury is set to have a trilogy fight with the American on July 24 in Las Vegas.
The former unified heavyweight champion of the world was originally preparing for an undisputed title fight with fellow Brit Anthony Joshua.
But the long-awaited Battle of Britain was scuppered last week when a judge ruled that Wilder is still contractually entitled to a trilogy fight.

A venue for the third installment of Fury vs Wilder has not yet been finalised, although the 65,000-capacity Allegiant Stadium in Vegas is in the running to host the bout.
Fury begrudgingly agreed to the fight, which he’s vowed to end in emphatic fashion.
After signing his bout agreement last Sunday, he said: “Wilder, this contract is signed.
“You’re getting smashed. When I say smashed, I mean smash, smash, smash, bang.

Anthony Joshua ramps up Oleksandr Usyk training as he spars southpaw Wadi Camacho in preparation for heavyweight fight

ANTHONY JOSHUA has ramped up his preparations to face Oleksandr Usyk by sparring southpaw Wadi Camacho. The unified heavyweight king has had to drastically switch up training camp after his fight with Tyson Fury fell to pieces.

AJ has now turned his attention to WBO mandatory challenger Usyk by recruiting lefty sparring partners.
One of those is cruiserweight Camacho, 35, who shared recent pictures with Joshua online.
The former Commonwealth champion has not fought since September 2019, when he was beaten by Deion Jumah.
Camacho’s southpaw style was enlisted following the news Fury, 32, would be fighting Wilder, 35, next, not Joshua, 31.
The Gypsy King and AJ were closing in on a deal for an undisputed title decider on August 14 in Saudi Arabia.
But at the final hurdle, Wilder’s right to a trilogy bout with Fury was awarded after a lengthy arbitration.
The Brit drew with his heavyweight rival in 2018 but won the rematch two years later, which included a contracted third bout.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, Fury’s side argued the stipulation expired as they instead entered talks with Joshua.

But Wilder’s legal case later went his way and with no plans to take a step aside fee, all of a sudden AJ was left out in the cold.
The WBO, who had initially given Joshua clearance to proceed with his unification, then ordered him to face Usyk, 34.
Promoter Eddie Hearn told DAZN: “Subject to a few details from the WBO like the purse bid, that is the first fight.
“It looks like the end of August. Since the [Kubrat] Pulev fight, AJ’s whole life has been about the Fury fight.
“His training, his sparring, everything has been geared to that.  So now we have to reset, he’s fighting Usyk, a southpaw.
“He had no problem fighting Usyk so he said if you feel like the deal is right, let’s proceed.”
