Promoter Eddie Hearn announced last week that Joshua’s WBO mandatory will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on September 25.
And AJ couldn’t be any more content with the fight, using a Drake lyric to express his current state of mind.
He wrote on Instagram: ‘Feeling good. Living better.”
Joshua’s next outing was supposed to be a blockbuster undisputed title fight with fellow Brit Tyson Fury.
But the biggest bout in the history of British boxing ended up being scuppered when an American judge ordered Fury to have a trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder.
Joshua, 31, was furious at the collapse of the fight, so much so he launched an uncharacteristic blistering attack on The Gypsy King.

He tweeted: “@Tyson_Fury the world now sees you for the fraud you are. You’ve let boxing down!
“You lied to the fans and led them on. Used my name for clout not a fight.
“Bring me any championship fighter who can handle their business correctly.”
But the Olympian’s focus is now fully on slick southpaw Usyk.
He told Sky Sports: “I wanted to go like August but change of opponent, completely different style, the team said push it back a little bit, prepare properly.
“This is a fight I need to win because I was at the final destination on that road to undisputed but now we have a pit stop we have to make with Usyk.

“At the end of September is when I’ll be taking on the former undisputed cruiserweight champion of the world.”
The undefeated Usyk will provide Joshua with one of the toughest tests of his career.
But the Watford warrior is positive he’ll pass it with flying colours.
A fired-up Joshua said of Usyk’s skills: “I fear none of them.
“He don’t bring nothing I ain’t seen before. Two hands, two legs, a brain and a bit of heart.
“He’s a good fighter, I’m challenging myself in training. So yeah, let’s get it on.”

Deontay Wilder acting ‘out of character’ with headphones on in Tyson Fury build up, says legend Andre Ward

DEONTAY WILDER is acting ‘out of character’ ahead of his trilogy fight against Tyson Fury, says former world champion boxer Andre Ward.In a recent press conference for the July 24 rematch, Wilder kept his headphones on for the duration – even for the head-to-head.

He has been sharing late-night training sessions with his new coach Malik Scott regularly on his social media accounts.
Ward believes Wilder is acting differently to how the boxing world knows him to be.
But the former unified super-middleweight and light-heavyweight champ is still giving the American a chance.
Speaking to Fight Hype, the 37-year-old said: “I didn’t like the headphones from Wilder, but that’s the strategy he’s taking and we’re going to find out if it works or not.
“Fury has basically been doing what he’s been doing, talking his talk and he tends to back it up.
“Wilder is out of character in a sense that he’s not his normal self, but we got to see if this new tactic of tuning the world out and tuning Fury out will work.
“We’re going to find out in a month from now. I don’t think he has a better chance. I think he has the chance that he’s always had.
“He’s dangerous, but I think he’s always going to be dangerous.

“But in this fight I think he’s going to be dangerous in a different kind of way because of the circumstances. He’s got a lot to prove.”
Fury and Deontay Wilder have shared 19 rounds in the ring – and finally complete their heavyweight trilogy this summer.

The Gypsy King had been in talks to fight Anthony Joshua, but has instead been forced to defend his WBC title against Wilder in Las Vegas.
Fury demolished Wilder inside seven rounds to inflict the first defeat of the American’s career back in February 2020. Neither man has fought since then, and both have been busy in longer training camps.

Anthony Joshua’s London 2012 Olympic final win questioned by bitter rival who insists ‘the public were on his side’

ANTHONY JOSHUA’S London 2012 Olympic gold medal win has been questioned – by the man he beat in the final.Roberto Cammarelle believes the crowd ‘influenced the judges’ and he ‘cant understand’ how he didn’t win.

The Italian was 13-10 up going into the final third round, with the judges scoring the fight 18-18 at the end.
AJ won on countback to be crowned Olympic champ on his home turf.
But Cammarelle is still bitter about taking the silver medal and believes he should have won the fight.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the 2008 Olympic champ said: “As far as I can remember, I think I managed to fight exceptionally well during the two rounds.
“The last round, he did not fight to overcome me. He was just sort of managing the fight. Having an equal number of points, an equal score, I can’t understand [how] I didn’t win.
“I thought I was managing the advantage I had managed to win over the first round. But nonetheless, I thought I had managed to fight a third round that was enough to win the fight.
“I think the public very much influenced the judges.
“I was under the impression at some point that regardless of any move by Joshua, the crowd was cheering even if it was a miss, and I think it certainly influenced the final result.”

Woodley, 39, goes into his clash with the social media star on the back of four consecutive losses – but is adamant he’ll put a beating on the cocksure Problem Child.
When asked to make his prediction for the fight, Woodley told former UFC middleweight champ Michael Bisping: “I think [round] three.
“First round sounds cocky, sounds dope, but I just know that if I’m fighting Tyron Woodley, everyone is going to tell him to cover up, weather the storm, clinch him, grab him, keep him away from you, stay at distance, watch out for the right hand.
“I’ve got to set a couple traps, so I may need a round or two to set some traps, see what he responds to, and I think third round I should be able to clean up the deal.”
Woodley has had to endure a barrage of trash talk from the younger Paul brother, who he faced off with earlier this month.
And The Chosen One is relishing the opportunity to silence the former Disney star, who he reckons is being hyped up by his team.

“He’s going to get knocked out.
“Hopefully, it’s not too bad because what’s happening is, his people are gassing him up that he can win – he accepted this fight, and I was very surprised he accepted this fight.
“They’re gassing him up, and they’re giving him that, ‘You’ve got the power, he’s old, he ain’t won a fight in a million years, you the younger, more hungry, he’s taking you lightly, you can beat him.’
“They’re lying to this kid, and they’re gonna get him f***ed up.”

He wrote on Instagram: “Tyron ran his mouth a little too much in the locker room when I knocked out his best friend Ben and earned himself a top spot on the Problem Child death list.
“Tyron’s a seasoned striker who has fought the best MMA fighters in the world but will be dropped by a Disney teen star in 2 rounds.
“Maybe this time Dana White will actually be a man of his word and put his money on his former champion instead of trying to undermine my success like a jealous ex.

Tyson Fury to ‘run over’ Deontay Wilder like an ’18-wheeler’ as Bronze Bomber will struggle to ‘adjust’ to pressure

TYSON FURY will make good on his promise to run through Deontay Wilder like an ’18-wheeler’, according to Paulie Malignaggi. The WBC heavyweight champion will renew his rivalry with The Bronze Bomber on July 24 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Fan favourite Fury has vowed to turn in a repeat performance of his rematch with Wilder last February, in which he utilised relentless forward pressure to score a seventh-round TKO victory.
And Malignaggi reckons The Gypsy King will successfully utilise the same tactic in his third clash with the American.
The former two-weight world champion told iFL TV: “He’s big enough, he’s taller, he’s heavier, and he’s physically stronger.
“People say, ‘He’s not a big puncher; how is he hurting Wilder?’
“So when you’re being backed up and bullied, something psychologically clicks in you.
“It’s like, wow, it’s like a boy being beaten up by a man. It psychotically brings you down.

“Wilder may not have wanted to stop fighting in the last fight, and that shows the heart of a champion.
“But he was also like a boy being beaten up by a man. He couldn’t stop that momentum of Fury.
“Like Fury says, he’s going to be able to run over Wilder again.
“I don’t see Wilder being able to adjust to that. I don’t see Wilder being able to prevent that from happening again.
“To me, Fury already proved that he could outbox him in the first fight.
“Then, in the second fight, he just ran him over. I think that’s the approach to take.

Paulie Malignaggi reckons Tyson Fury’s pressure will be too much for Deontay Wilder to handleCredit: Getty
“I think Fury was brilliant to realise that in round 12 of the first fight to where he realised, ‘If I back this guy up, he can’t fight me.’
“I think it’s going to be the same way again.
“I don’t want to underestimate Wilder, but we have seen him in twice with Fury and I don’t think he matches up well.”
Wilder, 35, has brought in former foe Malik Scott to oversee his latest training camp and help add new tools to his arsenal.
But Malignaggi believes the Olympic bronze medallist will be hard-pressed to fight Fury on the backfoot.
He said: “I just don’t think he stylistically matches up with Fury. I don’t think Wilder fights going backwards really well.
“For anybody that gives me the Szpilka knockout or [Luis] Ortiz knockout in the second fight, a step-back counter shot isn’t fighting going backwards.

“I’m talking about a guy that is consistently backing you up, and your momentum now is taking you backwards and psychologically; you need to be in reverse mode fighting.
“That’s what Fury does to you, and I don’t think Wilder knows how to fight like that.
“There have been some really great fighters that didn’t know how to fight going backwards.
“Sometimes it’s a matter of styles, and it’s a problem.
“I think Wilder needs to believe his own hype in this situation between he lost his last fight.
“So I think he needs to believe that there were reasons for it.”

Fan favourite Fury ended Wilder’s reign as WBC king last February via seventh-round TKO, and resurgent super-middleweight Rosado expects The Gypsy King to get the job done even more emphatically third time around.
When asked for his prediction for the trilogy fight, Rosado told DAZN: “I like Wilder, but I think Fury got his number.
“You know, I think he’s in his head. You know, and I think it’d be another devastating knockout, man. You know, I think he could stop Wilder again.
“I think Wilder’s going into the fight with the wrong energy, I’m saying he was quiet at the press conference.
“I think he just needs to focus on if he really wants to get this win.
“Stop coming up with all these speculations. If you think this happened, and this happened, and this happened, and it’s like, you know, it’s kind of it’s kind of crazy”

Fury, 32, is brimming with confidence ahead of his third meeting with The Bronze Bomber, who he’s vowed to run through like an ’18-wheeler’.
The Wythenshawe warrior said: “I gave my game plan away the first time because he wasn’t good enough to do anything about it.
“And I’ll do the same thing this time because he’s not good enough to do anything about it.
“Deontay Wilder is a one-trick pony. He’s got one-punch power, we all know that – great.
“But what I’m going to do to Deontay Wilder this time is I’m going to run him over as if I’m an 18-wheeler and he’s a human being.
“I guarantee he does not go past where he did before [the seventh round].

“Because before, I only had five or six weeks practicing what I’m going to do to him.
“This time, I’ve had 18 months of practicing what I’m going to do to him.
“So I anticipate it’s going to be like an 18-wheeler running over somebody, and that’s what you’re gonna see.
“I’m building my weight up, trying to get up to 300lbs for this fight. Because I’m looking for a big knockout straight away.”

Wilder, 35, is hellbent on avenging his first professional loss, saying: “I am going to do more than punish him.
“I am going to do the most brutal thing you can come up with in your mind.
“I hate him now, I think nothing of him, there is bad blood and it will always be there.

Brit who found out long lost dad was legendary boxing commentator Bob Sheridan worth £200million desperate to meet him

A BRIT who discovered his dad is US boxing legend Bob “The Colonel” says he’s not bothered about his £200million estate – he just wants to meet him.Simon Edwards, 41, received the remarkable news during a visit to extended family in Ireland, who told him his father was none other than “the Colonel”.

The Hitchen Town FC steward speaks to his dad every day and had been planning to meet at his Las Vegas home before Covid hit.
“I want to meet him, I don’t care about the money or showbiz lifestyle,” a desperate Simon told The Mirror.
“I don’t really want to think about the cash because once I inherit it that means I’ve lost my dad.
“People are talking about the money like my dad is already dead, it’s a bit sickening.”
Simon was the result of a fling between Bob and Irish hotel manager Rosemary Ruane, who died when her son was five.
She never told Bob about the pregnancy and the sporting legend left Galway before ever meeting his only son.
The father of two – who now refers to himself as Colonel Jnr – told how he contacted Bob via an agency the day the childless widower laid his wife to rest.
And Bob, famous for commentating on Muhammed Ali’s 1974 Rumble in the Jungle fight with George Foreman, in Zaire, knew instantly he was his son.
Since discovering his famous dad, stunned Simon has had messages of support from superstars Angelia Jolie and J-Lo.
A US government agency worker told Bob that Simon looked like him

He told SunSport: “I always dreamed of being reunited with my long lost father.
“As a boxing fan I knew exactly who he was, so it was fair to say it came as a pretty big shock. It’s just been so wonderful getting to know him.
“To other people it must seem amazing that this famous person is my dad, but for me it’s amazing to just know who my dad is and be in touch with him
“I’d probably still be as blown-away if he was a plumber from down the road.
Curious Simon tracked down his extended family to Galway and visited them in 2019.
He was told the unmarried hotel manager was one of nine daughters from the same Catholic family and had travelled to London to give birth after falling pregnant.
Simon was born in Newham, London, in 1980 and put up for adoption through the Catholic Children’s Society.
He was placed with retired British Aerospace scientist Mike Edwards and former healthcare worker Sue, who he still considers to be ‘his real parents’.
His adopted parents are “over the moon” and support Simon meeting up with his biological dad.
Bob, on the other hand, told about Simon half an hour after burying his wife.
He told SunSport: “I had just buried my wife.
“I was besides myself when the chaplain from my military regiment said to be ‘I know you feel cheated by the Lord, but remember he only gave his own son 33 years on this Earth.
“I got home and had a Guinness and I really felt like I had nothing left in my life.
“Then I got a call from an agency saying, ‘You have a 41-year-old son – and I said ‘are you sure?’
“They said all you have to do is see him once and you’ll know he’s your son. He looks just like you, he’s a great athlete like you.
“I was thinking, an hour ago I had nothing to live for – now I have a son.”
Bob contacted a friend at a government agency and asked them to confirm is Simon was really his son.
When the agency confirmed Simon was his child, Bob emailed him and asked to speak over the phone.
The 77-year-old has no children and is happy someone can finally inherent his £200million estate.
He is planning to visit London later this year to meet Simon, where they’ll then travel to Ireland and meet with heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and UFC superstar Conor McGregor.
They also plan to visit Rosemary’s grave.
Simon is already planning what to do with his newfound wealth, including opening a strip club in Hitchin.
He said: “I’m going to set two daughters up nicely and I’ll also sort out some friends and family.
“Hitchin is my hometown so I’ll be pumping money into the football team – where I’m a steward – and the cricket club.”
“I thought I’d love to have a sports bar with the football on and a horse racing bar.
“I also thought I’d open a gentleman’s club so people can go watch the football and horse racing during the day and then go for a lap dance”.
The two are now building a relationship.
“I said ‘can you get me hot chicks in Vegas’ and he said ‘I’ll get you the hottest birds you want’,” Simon said.
“I’m a party animal. People are saying ‘are you ready for Las Vegas?’ but the question is, is Las Vegas ready for Colonel Junior?”

Bob added: “He’s a ladies’ man like I used to be when I was single.
“If he goes through the casinos they will flock to him. Especially when they hear his British accent.
“He can live with me in my mansion when he comes here. I’ve got a cook and a maid living on my property.” More
