Ahead of the bout, Mayweather revealed he plans to give Spence Jr some pointers on how to beat the Filipino.
But Pacquiao insists the Money man won’t be able to help his latest foe, saying: “I don’t think Floyd can help Errol Spence. Errol Spence knows what he’s doing.”
The 42-year-old then ripped Mayweather for his eight-round exhibition bout with YouTube star Logan Paul, which went the distance.
Pacman said of his former opponent: “He’s fighting with a YouTuber just to earn money.
“And I’m fighting the best to add to my legacy, so that’s different. To fight an easy opponent for the money or to fight one of the best to add to your legacy. It’s different.
“I can easily fight an easy opponent or non-boxers. I can easily pick an easy win, but I pick the best because I want to add more to my legacy of accomplishment.

“It’s a challenge, especially because he’s taller than me. We have a strategy that we can use against a southpaw.
“I know he always coming inside and he want to fight toe-to-toe so that’s good.”
Spence Jr, 31, is relishing his showdown with Pacquiao and plans to close the book on his legendary career with a brutal knockout.
The American told CBS Sports: “Manny Pacquiao is an icon and a living legend.
“A lot of guys don’t get fights like this [against someone like him].
“If you look at the history of boxing, there is only a couple of guys who can be [called] living legends.

“This could also be his last fight, which makes it even bigger. If this is his last fight, it’s probably going to be replayed for the next 100 years so this is going to be huge.
“I want to retire him but I do respect him for taking this fight and being a real fighter.
“He could’ve picked Joe Blow or somebody, or an MMA fighter just to get a huge paycheck. Instead, he took the biggest challenge in the division.”

The former Disney star, who has gained immense traction, recently revealed he wants to test himself inside the octagon one day.
White, however, has no intention of ever working with The Problem Child, telling The Nelk Boys: “I just don’t see it happening.
“I don’t hate the kid. Is he f***ing annoying? Yeah, he’s annoying.
“He’s out there trying to make that money, and his shelf life is very f***ing short.”
White, 51, is adamant he wouldn’t water down the product he produces by putting the younger Paul brother inside the octagon.
When pressed further on potentially working with the social media star, he said: “Listen, I never say never, but I highly doubt it. It’s just not what I do.
I put the best against the bestDana White on potentially working with Jake Paul
“There’s a market for that. He could fight a different type of celebrity every week.
“And there’s going to be a segment of the population that wants to pay for that and see it, but that’s not what I do.
“I put the best against the best.”
White’s comments on potentially working with Paul echo those he made in May when he told ESPN: “First of all, I would never do business with those guys, just no.
“No, this is not what we do. I’m not gonna f*****g loan them a guy for f*****g what? There’s no way.

Lauren Price edges into final and stays on course for gold as Britain’s boxers deliver Tokyo 2020 medal rush

LAUREN Price booked her appointment with Olympic middleweight destiny – but was given the fight of her life by Dutch rival Nouchka Fontijn.Welsh wonder Price and Fontijn have been fighting for supremacy for five years, with the former part-time cabbie from Newport holding a narrow edge.

And after three gruelling rounds at the Kokugican Arena, the 27-year-old – who lost a point in round two – got through by the skin of her teeth on a 3-2 majority after two judges gave it to her on the tie-break when their cards were level.
Britain’s boxers have delivered six medals at Tokyo 2020 with Price and Galal Yafai both still in with a chance of gold.
Price had just outpointed Fontijn to lift the world and European belts in 2019.
Yet despite the southpaw Brit seeming to have used her speed to edge the first, ducking inside Fontijn’s orthodox lead to land her own shots, it was the Dutch fighter who shaded it with three of the five judges.
That put the pressure on, increased even more when Price was deducted a point for holding.
Even though she took the round with three of the judges, it meant she was behind on four of the cards after two, having to dominate the last to get through.
She did not do that in another three minutes which could have been decided either way but was shaded by the Welsh fighter according to four of them.
I’m just over the moon that I got the winLauren Price
That left Fontijn ahead on two cards, Price on one and level with the Argentine and Moroccan judges.
Both gave their tie break vote to Price, who howled in sheer delight as the verdict came in to confirm her passage to Sunday’s final.
A thrilled Price thanked her fans as she left the ring, adding: “It means the world.”
She told the BBC: “It’s pretty mad, to be honest.
“Obviously, I knew I was up against it today, we’re the best two in the world.
“We’ve faced each other a number of times and we know each other inside out. So it was whoever was better on the day.
“I started a little bit slow, but I suppose that’s where your experience comes into it and listening to my corner I went out in the second and third round to win the fight.
“I’m just over the moon that I got the win. But I take my hat off to her.

“Obviously, she’s been around a while as well, Olympic silver medallist and she’s world-class as well.
“So I’m just really pleased that I got the decision today.”

Team GB boxer Galal Yafai into Olympics FINAL and guarantees silver medal after hard-fought war with Kazakh opponent

GALAL YAFAI will fight for Olympics gold after a hard-fought and entertaining semi-final display at the Tokyo Olympics. The 28-year-old from Birmingham reached the final on Saturday after beating Kazak Saken Bibossinov by a split decision at the Kokugikan Arena.

He will fight the Philippines’ Carlo Paalam for gold, aiming to win the first title for Team GB at these Games.
The southpaw will now try to go one better than his elder brothers Khalid Yafai and Gamal Yafai, who have both boxed professionally.
Khalid, 32, represented Great Britain at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing but was unable to make it past the Last-16 stage.
Yafai is a much better fighter than the one everyone saw at the 2016 Rio Olympics when he was eliminated in the Last 16 by Cuban boxer Joahnys Argilagos.
The Brummie went to Brazil having quit his job at a Land Rover car factory in Solihull that same year and had only trained for those Games for six months.
It was a lively first round with both flyweights on the front foot and throwing plenty of punches.
Yafai led on the scorecards of all five judges, thanks in part to one brilliant left punch which hit the Kazak flush in the face.
I always thought, ‘I’d love to be in an Olympic final.’ And I’m in one nowGalal Yafai
Bibossinov had a much stronger second round and reduced the deficit heading into the third and final round.
The Kazak started celebrating towards the end of the right but had the smile wiped off his face when the result came in.
And he left the ring in tears after Yafai was named the winner.
An elated Yafai said of his reaching of the final, It’s ridiculous, I can’t believe it.
“It’s like a dream. I always thought, ‘I’d love to be in an Olympic final.’ And I’m in one now.
“I’ve just got one more hurdle to get over, and that’s to beat the Philippines and go and win gold.”
Yafai knew from a young age he’d be in an Olympic final, adding: “Always. We’d talk about it at home.

“And now I’m fighting in front of everyone.

Olympic gold medallist Joshua was ordered by the WBO to fight Usyk, 34, after his undisputed title decider with Tyson Fury, 32, collapsed.
And despite supporters left disappointed that the match-up never materialised, fans have acted fast to get their hands on seeing AJ face the former cruiserweight king next month.
Matchroom have announced that tickets have been sold out within a day as 60,000 fans prepare to flock to England’s capital.
It is the seventh venue that Joshua has sold out after the UK’s Wembley Stadium, Principality Stadium, 02 Arena and Manchester Arena.
He even sold out Madison Square Garden for his trip to America, although lost his title against Andy Ruiz Jr in June 2019.
The Watford native then fought in front of a sold out capacity at Saudi Arabia’s Diriyah Arena when he outpointed Ruiz to become a two-time world champion.
Joshua hasn’t been in action since knocking out Bulgarian veteran Kubrat Pulev in December.
But he is looking in incredible shape for his dust-up against fellow Olympic champ Usyk.

AJ goes into the bout with a size advantage, with Usyk preparing for just his third fight in the heavyweight division.
Commenting on the duo, promoter Eddie Hearn told talkSPORT: “I think that Usyk will never be a fully fledged heavyweight – a real heavyweight in terms of size.
“But what he will always have is a huge amount of skill.
“It takes time for people to bed into heavyweight, so put it this way, it would’ve been a lot easier fight for AJ a year-and-a-half ago.
“Now Usyk has fought a real heavyweight contender in [Derek] Chisora, that will actually help him to start to understand what needs to be done.
“But AJ’s a different kind of beast. A good big guy will always beat a good small guy, so we’ll see.”

Anthony Joshua tipped to KO Tyson Fury in the last nine minutes’ of undisputed heavyweight fight ahead of Usyk bout

ANTHONY JOSHUA has been backed to get a late stoppage against Tyson Fury in their long-awaited undisputed heavyweight title fight. The Brits were due to throw down in Saudi Arabia a week on Saturday before an American judge ordered The Gypsy King to have a trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder.

Joshua’s chances of beating the WBC king have been written off by many, but former WBA featherweight champ Barry McGuigan reckons the Olympian will be victorious in the long-awaited Battle of Britain.
The Irishman told Pro Boxing Fans: “I think Joshua wins.
“Fury is tricky and awkward, but I think Joshua is more versatile.
“He can do both aggressive and boxing as he showed against Andy Ruiz, but he also showed a vulnerability. It’s only my opinion.
“I think that Tyson has a chance with anybody, because he’s so naturally gifted and he’s quick.
“But I just think Joshua’s extra power in the last nine minutes of the fight will take their toll.”
Before Joshua and Fury can think about sharing the ring, they must first get through their respective bouts with Oleksandr Usyk and Wilder.
Joshua, 32, will face the undefeated Usyk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on September 25.
I think Joshua is more versatileBarry McGuigan on Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury
Fury, meanwhile, will renew his rivalry with Wilder in Las Vegas on October 9.
McGuigan, 60, is confident Joshua will do his part preserve the blockbuster undisputed bout, although he expects Usyk to put up some stern resistance.
He said: “I think the problem with Usyk is he’s not ever going to naturally be able to gain weight and put on a stone and a half which is what he needs to do even to get up to a reasonable weight for a heavyweight.
“He will give Joshua problems early on with his trickery and his boxing skills.
“But eventually Joshua will get to him and either grind him down and stop him or beat him on a lopsided unanimous decision.”
Joshua is relsihing his showdown with his fellow Olympic gold medallist, saying: “The date is set and we are fully locked in.

Despite not having boxed in over 15 years, Belfort, 44, goes into his clash with the Golden Boy as the bookies’ favourite.
And White would love nothing more than to see the Brazilian put De La Hoya to sleep.
During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, White said: “I’m praying Vitor knocks this crackhead out – and viciously. Viciously knocks him out.”
White and De La Hoya have been engaged in a war of words for several years, with the latter recently blasting the UFC chief for not allowing MMA great Georges St-Pierre to fight him.
But the pair enjoyed a cordial relationship many moons ago.
White said of the former six-weight world champion: “As much as I can’t stand that dirtbag, De La Hoya is legit.
“Back in the day when me and De La Hoya were cool, I actually was up in his camp.
“I’ll show that MMA and ex-UFC fighters can take down even the best boxer in the world.Vitor Belfort on his showdown with Oscar De La Hoya
“Just his jab could knock people out.
“De La Hoya in his prime was the real deal. This is a real fight between two real guys.
“I think that Vitor obviously has the power to KO him, but De La Hoya’s no joke, either.”
Despite White’s past friendship with De La Hoya, who has been open about his history of cocaine and alcohol abuse in recent years, the UFC chief wants to see the 48-year-old laid out on the canvas.
He said: “Hopefully all the coke-sniffing and tequila drinking and whatever other s**t that guy has been up to has caught up with him and Vitor lays one right on the big mouth of his and knocks him unconscious.”
UFC 12 tournament winner Belfort is relishing the opportunity to test his skills against the 1992 Olympian, saying: “Oscar De La Hoya is a true superstar in the boxing world and one of the greatest and most popular fighters of our time.

But the horrific cuts he suffered in his quarter-final clash with Mourad Aliev last week came back to haunt him as the referee waved off the contest in the third round.
A dejected Clarke protested the ref’s decision to call off the contest.
But the official made the right call as the laceration above the 2018 Commonwealth Games champion’s right eye was gaping.
Clarke was outboxed by the bruising southpaw in the opening round, which he lost on all of the judges’ scorecards.
But the Burton brawler came roaring back in the second, landing a big straight right that wobbled the Uzbek.
The referee gave Jalolov a standing eight count, much to the frustration of the 27-year-old.
Clarke’s wobbling of Jalolov, however, didn’t impress the judges – with four of them scoring the second in the Ubzebk’s favour.
Clarke’s pre-fight cuts were opened up moments before the end of the stanza and sparked concern from his corner.
The cutmen did their best to stem the bleeding, particularly from the gash above his right eyebrow.
The ref, surprisingly, opted not to wave off the contest after checking the cuts late in the second.

BBC commentator Steve Bunce was stunned by the ref’s decision not to stop the fight earlier, saying: ‘That cut is disgraceful.
“That cut would stop any fight in any decade in the world, it’s a 30 stitch cut – it looks like he’s been bitten by a shark!”
After the fight, a heartbroken Clarke said: “It’s not the fairytale that I wanted.
“But I’m proud of myself. I gave a great effort.
“The last six months of my life, I made more sacrifices than in the last 18 years when it comes to boxing.
“To get in there with one of the best, it’s a pleasure for me, an honour for me.
