Anthony Joshua tipped to take out slick southpaw Oleksandr Usyk ‘inside six rounds’ in ‘brutal’ Tottenham triumph

Slick southpaw Usyk has been tipped to give AJ one of the toughest tests of his career, but ex-heavyweight champ David Haye reckons Josh will tame The Cat before the halfway point of the bout.
The former WBA titleholder told SecondsOut: “AJ knocks Usyk out very conclusively.
“Left, right, jab, right cross that puts Usyk down or out, and then it’s done. 100% inside six rounds.
“If it does go past six rounds, it’s because AJ wants it to go past six rounds. Yes, and because of what I saw of AJ in the Pulev fight.”
Joshua, 31, hasn’t set foot inside the ring since his ninth-round destruction of Bulgarian bruiser Kubrat Pulev last December.
Haye was thoroughly impressed with AJ’s patience that night at the SSE Wembley Arena and reckons he’ll use it to devastating effect against Usyk.

He added: “That Pulev fight told me where AJ is right now in terms of patience-wise, and he’s in his prime now.
“The same way Andrew Golota seemed like he was a danger to Lennox Lewis prior to their fight because he had a couple of tough fights with Riddick Bowe.
“No, Lennox went, ‘there are levels to this game.’ Bing, bing, bing, bing, go to sleep.
“That’s exactly what AJ is going to do [against Usyk].
“He’s going to go out there, ‘You’re a tricky southpaw and Olympic champion, good for you.
Inside six roundsDavid Haye’s prediction for Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk
“Undisputed cruiserweight champion.’ Bang, bang, bang, bang, go to sleep, and that’s going to be pretty brutal.”
Joshua is champing at the bit to share the ring with his fellow Olympic gold medallist but doesn’t plan to engage him in an all-out war.
He told Sky Sports: “Movement means you are never stationery to get hit. Movement is important.
“Concentration – when you want to [punch], you lock in, then make a move. You have to make sure your brain works.
“That can be mentally fatiguing so I am sharpening the mind so that I can concentrate for the 12 rounds.

“Also I practice having the ability to [punch] four times, not just once. Concentrate, take your time, pin him down.
“It’s a fight for the brain. Knowing what you’ve got in front of you and knowing how to deal with it.
“You can either be aggressive, corner [him], throw everything at it. Or take your time, be clever, then knock [him] out.”

Motivated Tyron Woodley under pressure to beat Jake Paul but won’t freeze against YouTuber, says UFC great Bisping

TYRON WOODLEY is under immense ‘pressure’ to win his professional boxing debut against Jake Paul, former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping believes. The future UFC Hall-of-Famer will lock horns with the YouTuber turned boxer early on Monday morning in Cleveland, Ohio.

And former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping believes Woodley is under immense ‘pressure’ going into the fight.
Woodley, 39, enters his maiden boxing match with the weight of the MMA world on his shoulders following four consecutive losses and his good friend Ben Askren’s KO defeat to The Problem Child.
But Bisping likes what he’s seen of the Missouri mauler’s preparations for the bout, telling SunSport: “He does look motivated. But I think that’s because he’s feeling the pressure.
“Of course, he had a great career as champion and in the UFC he was a phenomenal fighter.
“I would assume he’ll be in the Hall-of-Fame one day, but he’s lost his last four.
“I did see some interviews a while ago. He fell into the trap that a lot of fighters do, a lot of athletes do, with overspending money and things like that.
“I’m not sure of his financial situation, I’m sure he’s OK. But this is all he knows.

“And he’s probably training like a madman because he’s feeling the pressure.
“And there’s a little bit of assumption on my end because I don’t know his financial situation.
“But I don’t think it’s a wild theory to have. He’s even spoken about this himself.
“So he needs this. He needs to be successful. So, therefore, he’s pushing himself accordingly.
“But with all of that, that brings a lot of pressure.”
In his final forays into the octagon, Woodley looked a shell of the man who struck fear into the hearts of the UFC’s 170-pounders during his championship reign.
He does look motivated. But I think that’s because he’s feeling the pressure.Michael Bisping on Tyron Woodley’s clash with Jake Paul
But with the eyes of the entire combat sports world firmly fixed on him, Bisping expects to see the Chosen One return to his old gunslinging ways.
The Count said: “Now as we all know, pressure, it can form diamonds.
“F**king the most cliche thing ever. But you know what I’m saying.
“He could go out there and rise to the challenge and put on the performance of a lifetime.
“He might leave Jake Paul flat out, face down on the canvas.
“Or it might make him freeze, you know? I don’t think it will, I think we’re gonna see him [perform].

How Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley compare ahead of their boxing match
“Because in the Vicente Luque fight, he went out there and I think he felt the pressure and he started off hard.
“But that was part of his demise. He came out too fast, too hot.”
Lucrative payday aside, Woodley is in somewhat of a lose-lose situation as he should beat combat novice Paul.
And although Woodley is the underdog against the 3-0 Paul, Bisping reckons the expectation of victory will weigh heavy on the MMA vet.
He said: “It is a tough spot for Tyron Woodley. Because think about it, again: Tyron Woodley the former champion.
“He used to proclaim to be one of the greatest of all time. Certainly one of the best welterweight champions that we did have, to be fair.
Jake Paul is cutting no corners with his diet
“He should, on paper, beat this guy. So that again brings pressure. There’s so much pressure for Tyron.
“”And on the flipside for Jake Paul, it’s just like, ‘Well, I’m supposed to lose.”
BT Sport Box Office will show Jake Paul v Tyron Woodley exclusively live on Sunday 29th August. Watch all the action from an exciting card that also features Daniel Dubois and Tommy Fury from 00:30. To find out more, visit www.bt.com/sportboxoffice

Throughout the build-up to his professional boxing debut, Woodley has had to endure fans claims he’s only accepted the fight for a payday.
But The Chosen One insists he won’t be taking a dive, telling Fight Hype: “I’m taking it serious. That’s what I think.
“I think the amount of people that know me and know better than to call me and ask me – am I throwing this fight for money, or is it a real fight, or is it exhibition?
“Like, I don’t understand why people think in 2021, somebody’s willing to let somebody pay them for a fight when I’ve been nothing but a competitor for 30 years.
“And it’s kind of offensive. So, to me, I’m like, ‘Alright. Let me show everybody what it’s all about.’”

But the Missouri mauler is adamant he’ll derail the Paul hype train in spectacular fashion.
During an appearance on The MMA Hour, he said: “I’m here to f***ing takeover. You’re gonna see Jake Paul get hurt in a way you’d never imagine.
“He may not want to do this again after this.
“This was my lifestyle before it became a sport, before it became a career.
“This was a bucket list thing he wanted to try, his following allowed him to do so. But this is in my DNA, it’s all I’ve been doing since I was a kid.”
Paul, 24, is 3-0 as a professional boxer following stoppage wins over AnEson Gib, Nate Robinson and former UFC welterweight Ben Askren.
Tyron Woodley on suggestions he’s being paid to take a dive against Jake Paul
And The Problem Child has vowed to add Woodley’s name to his victim list in double-quick time.
He told Sky Sports: “Honestly after this camp, I said three [rounds] and now I’m thinking, max two.
“But to be honest, something in my heart tells me that it’s going to be another one-round fight.
“As crazy as that sounds. I think it’s going to be a very short night for Tyron.”
He added: “I’m just built different. I have something inside of me that I think is just a natural-born fighter, with natural power.
“You can teach a lot of things, but you can’t teach speed and you can’t teach power.
How Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley compare ahead of their boxing match
“I think that’s why my fights have ended so early.
“When those 10oz Grant gloves come on, I just grip them back, and the knuckles are at the front of the gloves.
“There’s no way these people’s heads can deal with this damage.”

Deontay Wilder’s coach says heavyweight would KO ‘the old’ Bronze Bomber in two rounds after training ‘100 times harder’

DEONTAY WILDER is now ‘ten times’ more focused on beating Tyson Fury than in the heavyweight pair’s previous fights.A draw in 2018 was followed by a stunning victory for the Gypsy King last year, after which Wilder was mocked for coming up with excuses.
Malik Scott (right) has talked up Deontay Wilder’s chances in October’s title boutCredit: Instagram @malikkingscott
But Malik Scott, the Bronze Bomber’s trainer, has predicted a very different result when the two champs meet in Las Vegas on October 9.
Scott told Sky Sports: “Fury fights with his hands down, at times with his chin up, at times he comes forwards, at times he is close with his hands down.
“He has been knocked down by guys who hit less hard than Deontay. He is very vulnerable.
“I’ve never seen Fury fight and said: ‘Wow he is unbeatable’.
“On his best day he looks good but still looks beatable.
“This Deontay would knock out the old Deontay in two rounds. He is 10 times more focused, training 100 times harder.

“It is a violent camp. His mentality is very violent. This will be the best version of Deontay Wilder that you have ever seen.”
Scott is not the first boxing figure to predict that Fury, 33, may find things more difficult in the trilogy clash.
David Haye has stated his concerns over the Brit’s chin and Chris Arreola is tipping the 35-year-old for the win.
But Johnny Nelson believes Wilder has more work to do to ensure he does not meet the same seven-round, TKO fate as their last meeting.
In Scott’s eyes, a number of pundits and fighters do not properly value Wilder’s intelligence in the ring.
He added: “They underestimate his IQ.
How Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder stack up ahead of the trilogy fight
“He is not some big, dumb guy who just throws a right hand. There is method to his madness.
“Deontay’s IQ is very high. I watch him create, watch him put himself in position, set guys up into surgical traps.

Anthony Joshua reveals his tactics for Oleksandr Usyk fight and how he plans to ‘pin down’ rival as training ramps up

HEAVYWEIGHT Anthony Joshua has revealed his tactics for his world title clash with Oleksandr Usyk on September 25.The reigning WBA, IBF and WBO champ also thinks the undefeated Ukrainian will be his trickiest opponent to date.
Anthony Joshua is training hard ahead of his fight with Oleksandr Usyk
Usyk has never lost a professional fight and boasts an 18-0 record
Speaking to Sky Sports, AJ said Usyk will ‘100 per cent’ be the biggest challenge of his career before explaining his approach to the fight.
Joshua, 31, said: “Movement means you are never stationery to get hit.

Although Joshua has been tipped to retain his world titles, Usyk, 34, has never lost a professional fight and boasts an 18-0 record.
‘The Cat’ – as he’s known – became the first cruiserweight in history to hold all four major world belts before making the step up to heavyweight.
Usyk already has two huge British scalps on his CV, knocking out Tony Bellew in November 2018 and edging Derek Chisora in his last fight.
But AJ isn’t fazed by his opponent’s impressive record and has been working hard to get in the right shape for the fight.
The British star added: “I do look at my weight but I’m not trying to make weight because I’m a heavyweight.
You don’t want to leave it all in the gym. But as long as you train with purpose, you are going to learn.Anthony Joshua
“I tailor my training. I am getting a lot of experience, I’ve been fighting good fighters for a long time, I’ve studied them and learned about their training camps.
“I’ve learned how to condition my body for specific fights. I’m looking trim for this fight.
“I’m fighting a guy who is a 12-round fighter. So it would be silly of me to go in there bulky with my muscles screaming for oxygen.
“I’ve been training like a 15-round fighter in this camp. I will be well-conditioned to fight. That is key.
“What happens when I train that way? My body adapts and takes its natural form. This is the form it has taken.”
