Tyson Fury reveals he ‘nearly broke ankle’ after knocking down Deontay Wilder & admits ‘he wasn’t all there’ in epic win

TYSON FURY stopped Deontay Wilder with a brutal eleventh round knockout in Las Vegas on Saturday night. The Gypsy King also had Wilder down in the third and the tenth, and has claimed he nearly BROKE his ankle in doing so.

After dropping the Bronze Bomber to the canvas for the first time in the third round Fury tripped and almost fell over his huge 6ft 9in frame.
He seemed to roll his ankle nastily and was lucky not to end up on the deck next to the stricken Wilder.
And the 33-year-old has revealed the fight could have over barely before it started – but not because of a knockout blow.
Fury confessed, via iFL TV: “When I hit him with an uppercut, bang in the first [third] round, dropped him, I nearly broke my ankle.
“I went over on my ankle, my ankle’s hurt.”
Fury also went on to claim that he was far from his best in front of the 20,000 fans roaring him on at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The Gypsy King admitted: “Today wasn’t my greatest night. Two years out the ring, wasn’t all there completely.
“But I still did enough to be victorious and showed heart and b****s like a lion again.”
The Manchester-born fighter had to twice pick himself up from the canvas in the fourth round and dust himself off to finally put an end to Wilder’s epic resistance in the eleventh.
Wilder showed heroic courage to withstand some mind-boggling blows from Fury but the Briton finally scored the deciding blow in the penultimate round of the bout.
And despite being put down twice in the fourth, Fury insisted he was not hurt at any point.
After winning Fury was asked what was going through his head when he was floored by Wilder.
The Gypsy King replied: “Not a great deal. You going swimming and you’re going to get wet.
“He caught me, he caught me twice in the fourth round. But I was never thinking ‘oh this is over’.
“I was thinking ‘okay good shot but I will get you back in a minute’ and I did.
“I was very conscious, saw the ref go three…four, and I was always there.”

Tyson Fury says he feels SORRY for his opponents and roars ‘I’m the best fighter of my generation’ after Wilder win

TYSON FURY’s brutal knockout of Deontay Wilder left the Gypsy King feeling sorry for his opponents. The 33-year-old remains unbeaten in 32 professional bouts and he labelled himself as the ‘best fighter’ of his day afterwards.

The Gypsy King defended his WBC and Lineal heavyweight titles in Las Vegas after twice getting up from the canvas in the fourth round to floor Wilder in the eleventh.
He will now be ordered to face the winner of Dillian Whyte vs Otto Wallin – meaning a fight for the ages against Anthony Joshua doesn’t seem close.
And Fury has claimed he ‘feels sorry’ for anybody who has to fight him following Saturday night’s textbook knockout.
In a video posted to Twitter by Top Rank Boxing and Premier Boxing Champions, Fury labels himself as a ‘generational’ fighter as he sits with barely a scratch on him.
The Gypsy King declared: “I can only be the best fighter of my day, and I’ve done that.
“I’m the best fighter of my era.

“I’m the generation fighter, I actually feel sorry for all these guys who have had to fight me.
“Because I’m in the dressing room at home I’m not nervous – you know it’s a boxing fight to me.
“I feel sorry for them because they’re fighting the fighter of the generation, that’s for sure.”
His two wins against Wilder as well as his incredible victory over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 have confirmed Fury’s place in boxing’s history books.
And from the press conference Gypsy King Fury was quick to start partying.
He was seen dancing shirtless alongside brother Tommy Fury in a Las Vegas nightclub.
He wowed the crowd with a rendition of American Pie – a Fury favourite he performed in the ring following his last win against Wilder.
The Gypsy King then belted out Sweet Caroline and ACDC’s TNT to go with the rendition of Walking In Memphis he sang in the ring following his victory.
Fury had already proved he meant business pre-fight by giving Wilder the ‘crazy eyes’ seconds before the first bell sounded.
The chilling stare sent shivers down the spines of people watching at home, but backs up Fury’s post fight claims about his status in the sport.

Fans mock Deontay Wilder on social media over brutal loss to Tyson Fury and American’s excuses before AND after fight

TYSON Fury’s savage knockout of Deontay Wilder has sent fans on social media into a frenzy. The Gypsy King stopped Wilder in the eleventh round at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

He had also sent the Bronze Bomber to the canvas in rounds four and tenCredit: Getty

The final blow sent Wilder sprawling to the canvas, with fans quick to use the image of him on the floor at his expense.
Creative fans have been crafting hilarious memes mocking the Bronze Bomber following Fury’s mammoth knockout punch.
One Twitter user edited a teddy bear inside Wilder’s arms as he lay sprawled out on the deck, poking fun at Fury sending his opponent to sleep.
Another ridiculed Wilder’s face after taking Fury’s punches, taunting the Bronze Bomber that the facial recognition on his phone is unlikely to work after the vicious knockout.
Meanwhile others created rib-tickling memes relating to the Netflix sensation Squid Game.
One showed Wilder being held up by the character Ali – in what is a hilarious recreation of one of the scenes from the show.

The Bronze Bomber was taken to hospital as a precaution after the fight but didn’t have to stay overnight.
And reacting to a second defeat to Fury the 35-year-old has claimed he doesn’t know ‘what happened’.
He said: “I did my best, but it wasn’t good enough tonight. I’m not sure what happened.
“I know that in training he did certain things, and I also knew that he didn’t come in at 277 pounds to be a ballet dancer.
“He came to lean on me, try to rough me up and he succeeded.”
Some Wilder fans though have insisted the Bronze Bomber was ‘robbed’ after the referee seemed to allow Fury longer than ten seconds to recover after being knocked down in the fourth.
One said: “I understand Wilder got outboxed but are we all gonna ignore Fury’s 12 count. Ref says five, stops counting for three seconds, then says six.”
Another agreed: “If the ref didn’t give Fury 10-year count it would be a different story.”

    GYPSY KING
What a journey Tyson Fury has been on.

    WHYTE NEXT
Tyson Fury is set to hand Dillian Whyte his long-awaited crack at the WBC heavyweight title after his humdinger with Deontay Wilder, writes CHISANGA MALATA.
Fury, 33, picked himself up off the canvas twice before sealing a thrilling knockout win over old-rival Wilder in their trilogy bout on Saturday night.
And the champ is now mandated to take on the victor of Whyte’s clash with Otto Wallin.
The fight, however, is contingent on Fury being unable to strike a deal to face Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed title within 30 days.
But with Anthony Joshua officially exercising his rematch clause with the Ukrainian, the winner of Whyte vs Wallin is now guaranteed the next shot at the undisputed WBC strap.
    FIRE AND FURY
Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder shared an intense staredown in the middle of the ring before their epic trilogy showdown, writes KOSTAS LIANOS.
Fury proved he meant business before facing his bitter rival as he gave Wilder some “crazy eyes” that pierced through the soul of many fans watching from home.
The Bronze Bomber didn’t seem intimidated but boxing enthusiasts didn’t help but feel sorry for the American superstar as they knew the Gypsy King wasn’t going to hold back.
One fan tweeted: “Dunno about Wilder but that stare from Fury made me s**t bricks.”
Another wrote: “[Fury] might have the best crazy eyes during staredowns.”
A third posted: “Fury stare is scary.”

    NO LOVE FROM PARIS
Paris Fury has followed in husband Tyson’s footsteps by landing some blows of her own on Deontay Wilder.
The wife of the Gypsy King couldn’t contain her hatred of the Bronze Bomber after the incredible Las Vegas trilogy showdown.
Having seen her husband win by KO in the 11th round despite himself twice hitting the canvas, Paris, who was ringside for the contest, couldn’t hide her relief.
And speaking to iFL TV, she had a few words for her man’s bitter rival: “Clearly he [Wilder] is a tough man, but he’s not tough enough.
“Three times [in a row] now. Maybe he’ll shut up now, go home and go to bed. I’ll be polite but we don’t want to hear that man’s name again.”
Laughing to camera, Paris, 31, added: “Let him go and do something else, do something else that he’s good at. He’s not good at boxing clearly.”
Fury twice hit the deck during the fourth round of the Sin City contest, and Paris, who looked stunning in a blue dress, revealed how difficult it was to witness.
She said: “It’s no good, it’s not nice to watch. It’s horrible. It’s a horrible, horrible situation.”

    ‘NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENED’
Deontay Wilder has broken his silence after another devastating defeat to Tyson Fury.
The American heavyweight lost again to his Brit rival after an eleventh-round KO stoppage.
It came after an epic encounter with FIVE knockdowns, including the Gypsy King being floored twice in the fourth.
And after being taken to hospital for precaution, Wilder has had his say on one of the best heavyweight bouts ever.
He also revealed some of Fury’s tactics in the fight, and how the three-stone weight advantage helped.
The 35-year-old said: “I did my best, but it wasn’t good enough tonight. I’m not sure what happened.
“I knew that he didn’t come in at 277lbs to be a ballet dancer. He came to lean on me, try to rough me up and he succeeded.”

    VOODOO CHILD
Tyson Fury broke the ‘Versace robe curse’ after defeating Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas.
Boxing fans had feared the Gypsy King would lose his undefeated record after daring to wear a custom-made Versace robe.
After all, Conor McGregor lost to Floyd Mayweather after donning a similar outfit.
And Billy Joe Saunders, a close friend of Fury, also suffered the same fate when he wore a Versace robe ahead of his bout with Canelo Alvarez earlier this year.
Those results meant the clothing item carried a bit of a curse – but not for Fury.
The Brit was troubled by Wilder in their third fight, with fans claiming a slow count stopped him from losing in the fourth round.
But Fury recovered to dominate Wilder before landing an 11th round knockout to retain his WBC world title and lift the Versace curse.

    WILD WEST
Here in Tyson Fury’s third knockdown, showcasing boxing 101 with an expert roll and counter.
Both men had been down at that point, but Fury really stamped his authority on the fight.
He then knocked Wilder out in the next round.

    BALLS OF STEEL
Eddie Hearn was impressed by what he saw as Tyson Fury knocked out Deontay Wilder in one of the greatest nights in heavyweight boxing.
Both men hit the canvas early at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena before Fury sensationally retained his WBC title with a stunning knock-out blow in the 11th round.
And Anthony Joshua’s promoter Hearn could not help but issue a simple salute to the pair after their blockbuster trilogy bout.
He tweeted: “Great fight! Big balls from both!”

    ‘FURY’S JUST BETTER’
Deontay Wilder’s former promoter doubts the Bronze Bomber can ‘come back from two vicious beatings like that’ after he was knocked out by Tyson Fury for the second time.
The Gypsy King scored three knockdowns against the 35-year-old in 11 thrilling rounds on Sunday morning – with the final one closing the show and their rivalry.
And Lou DiBella – who was Wilder’s promoter between 2015 and 2019 – reckons the Alabama native will struggle to return to the ring given the brutal nature of his most recent losses.
The 61-year-old tweeted: “I’m not sure that you can come back from two vicious beatings like that in a row. I don’t think so.”

    SCORES SETTLED
The scorecards for Tyson Fury’s epic trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder have been revealed – with some bizarre results.
Each one rightly had the Brit winning on the cards by the eleventh-round after three knockdowns in the bout.
Dave Moretti had it 95-91, Tim Cheatham closer at 94-92 and Steve Weisfeld at 95-92.
Each scored the third round a 10-8 for Fury after knocking down his opponent early in the fight.
But it turned on its head in the fourth, with the Gypsy King floored TWICE as the American went in for a shock win.
All three put that down as a 10-7 to Wilder, in a huge swing of fortunes to a shocked and wild Vegas crowd.
Fury recovered as he always has throughout his career due to his incredible heart and durability.
He went on to lose just ONE round over the five on each of the judge’s cards, as he ripped back dominance.
But it is round ten that has left fans baffled, after Weisfeld called it a 10-9 round to Fury instead of 10-8 despite a knockdown.

    PUNCH STATS
The CompuBox punch stats revealed Tyson Fury landed 150 punches out of 385 thrown, with an incredible accuracy of 39 per cent.
Deontay Wilder, who had the Brit down two times in round four, threw 355 but only connected with 355, giving him a 20 per cent accuracy.
Fury’s trainer Sugarhill Steward pleaded with the Gypsy King to ‘jab the motherf***er’ in order to offset Wilder’s attacks.
And the WBC champion finished the fight with 36 jabs landing from 117 thrown, with an accuracy of 31 per cent.
Wilder meanwhile, landed with only NINE jabs from the 102 thrown, meaning he connected with just nine per cent.
Fury’s power punching is where the fight was decided, landing with 114 of his 268 attempts, ending with 43 per cent accuracy.
Wilder did land with 63 of the 253 he threw, with an accuracy rate of 25 per cent.

    FURY HAILS VEGAS FANS
Tyson Fury hailed the packed out Las Vegas crowd, who watched his epic trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder.
Amid the travel ban to the US, no Brits were allowed Stateside, usually a fixture in Fury’s recent fights.
But the Gypsy King – who now trains out of Vegas – was still full of praise for those in attendance.
He said: “It was a great atmosphere the fans were amazing and got their money’s worth.
“The Brits couldn’t follow out and we could have sold this out 10 times if they could.”

    WILD TURN OF EVENTS
This is the moment the fight momentarily turned of its head.
Wilder was down in round three and looked in bad trouble – but a short right hand had Tyson Fury hitting the canvas.
It paved the way for a rollercoaster fight.

    KNOCKING EM’ DOWN
Here is a clip of the first knockdown of the fight, in round three from Tyson Fury.
It was a short right uppercut from Fury which sent Deontay Wilder to the canvas for the first time.
But credit to Wilder, who got up, did some damage of his own and pushed right till the 11th-round KO.

    USYK PLAYER
Tyson Fury admitted he has not even given an undisputed title fight with Oleksandr Usyk a thought.
Usyk stunned Anthony Joshua to claim the unified heavyweight titles from the Brit, and they are now due to rematch.
But Fury will have a rest and recovery period before he even thinks about fighting the winner.
He said: “We will see, I have just earned a break, I have been home two weeks in six months so I am going to bask in this victory – I am the big dog in this division.
“One of the heaviest in history at 277lbs. We will just see what tomorrow brings.”

    WILDER UPDATE
Deontay Wilder’s co-manager Shelly Finkel has confirmed the heavyweight will not stay in hospital overnight.
Wilder was taken as a precautionary in Las Vegas after his round 11 knockout loss to Tyson Fury.
Reporter Dan Rafael tweeted: “Was texting with Wilder manager Shelly Finkel. Said Deontay is OK and won’t be staying overnight at the hospital.”

    ‘HE SHOOK ME’
Gypsy King Tyson Fury revealed he never feared defeat despite being floored TWICE in the fourth round.
After winning, Fury was asked what went through his head at that moment and he replied: “Not a great deal. You going swimming and you’re going to get wet.
“He caught me, he caught me twice in the fourth round. But I was never thinking ‘oh this is over’. I was thinking ‘okay good shot but I will get you back in a minute’ and I did.
“I was very conscious, saw the ref go three…four, and I was always there.
“He shook me, he put me down and that’s boxing and it’s life as well but it’s not how many times you get put down or how many times you lose.
“It’s about how you come back and keep moving forward, like Rocky said you’ve got to keep moving forward in a positive manner and keep fighting.”

    ‘ALL SHE WROTE’
Tyson Fury has cast doubt over Deontay Wilder’s future after their gruelling trilogy and warned: ‘I’ll be surprised if he ever boxes again’.
Fury told Behind The Gloves: “I’m sure he’ll have a lot of excuses to make.
“He always does, he’s a sore loser and he has Everlast MX on and I had Paffen Sports on, the gloves were the same.
“His trainers were in the changing rooms yet again, they checked everything, there’s no queries.
“He got beat fair and square and that’s all she wrote for Deontay Wilder. And I’ll be surprised if he ever boxes again.”

    FIGHTING TALK
Tyson Fury paid tribute to his trainer SugarHill Steward after sensationally knocking out Deontay Wilder to retain his world heavyweight title.
The Gypsy King landed the decisive punch with just a few minutes of the epic encounter remaining.
The 11th-round knock-out came after both men had hit the canvas earlier in their trilogy bout at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.
Speaking in the ring with his hands back on his WBC belt, Fury revealed the magic words Steward said that inspired him to victory.
Fury said: “I need to thank my trainer. At the end there he told me, ‘get your jab working, only the big dogs pull it out late on’.
“It was edge of the seat stuff and could’ve gone either way. SugarHill pushed me to knock him out late.”

    MATCH OF THE DAY
Former England star Gary Lineker has added his voice to praise for Tyson Fury following his victory over Deontay Wilder.
The Match of the Day presenter tweeted: “That’s what you call a great heavyweight fight. Brilliant scrap.
“Congratulations @Tyson_Fury on another superb performance. What a champion.”

    ‘SHADOW REALM’
Deontay Wilder’s former trainer Mark Breland is a hot topic after the American’s loss.
One fan said on Twitter: “Oh and lastly, that violent ending is exactly what Mark Breland saved Wilder from in the last fight.
“That was his job, Wilder fired him for it. Tonight he wasn’t there to save him getting knocked into the shadow realm.”
    MADE HIS MARK
Deontay Wilder has been criticised by some for his decision to sack former trainer Mark Breland after his last fight.
Wilder axed the coach after he threw in the towel in round seven after a pummeling from Tyson Fury in the second of their three bouts.
And some have suggested that Breland would have been just the man to go back to the drawing board and get the Bronze Bomber over the line in this fight.

    PAUL THE OTHER ONE
Jake Paul has had his say on Tyson Fury’s win over Deontay Wilder…

    MUR OF THAT
Andy Murray has asked boxing fans what they would rather see.
He said on Twitter: “Would you rather.
“Fury vs usyk for undisputed and Wilder vs Joshua with winner fighting winner of fury vs usyk or Joshua vs usyk rematch and winner to fight fury?”

‘I’m not sure you can come back from two vicious beatings like that’ – Wilder’s ex-promoter gives verdict after Fury KO

And the Bronze Bomber’s former promoter Lou DiBella thinks he will struggle to come back from his second ‘vicious beating’Credit: Getty
The pair initially drew in 2018 but two years later Fury won the rematch in emphatic fashion in seven rounds.
Wilder refused to accept the first defeat and blamed the result on several ludicrous reasons, including his water being SPIKED and Fury fighting with WEIGHTS in his gloves.
But any lingering doubts were laid to rest in Las Vegas on Sunday with Fury once again coming out on top.
    “I don’t think so.”

But not wanting to kick his former charge while he is down, the New Yorker added: “If he can’t, I never want to hear a negative word about Deontay’s legacy.
“He simply fell short again against a man that is just better.”
Unbeaten British heavyweight champ Fury tried to console the Bronze Bomber afterwards, but was snubbed, so once more hit out at ‘sore loser’ Wilder.
And he also predicted his great rival may never lace up the gloves again, due to the mental and physical affects of their trilogy classic.
Fury said after the fight: “That’s all she wrote for Deontay Wilder.
“And I’ll be surprised if he ever boxes again.”
‘HE’LL HAVE A LOT OF EXCUSES’
After the barrage of excuses after their second bout, Fury also revealed he expects the same again from his long-time foe.
He told Behind the Gloves: “I’m sure he’ll have a lot of excuses to make.
“He always does, he’s a sore loser and he has Everlast MX on and I had Paffen Sports on, the gloves were the same.
“His trainers were in the changing rooms yet again, they checked everything, there’s no queries.
“He got beat fair and square.”
Fury first dropped Wilder in the third and looked on the road to a straightforward repeat win.

But in the next round, he was dramatically floored himself twice and barely survived to hear the bell.
Afterwards, Fury regained control and in round ten again had Wilder decked.
But the brave Bronze Bomber fought back until a right hand in the 11th saw the ref wave it off.

When is Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua happening, where will fight take place, how much money will they earn for clash?

ANTHONY JOSHUA vs Tyson Fury is the fight EVERY British boxing fan wants to see.But with the two fighters having seemingly contrasting fortunes in recent weeks, the fight looks further away than ever, despite being so close earlier this summer.

Joshua vs Fury – when will it happen?
Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury is set to take place over two fights, with the pair verbally agreeing a deal earlier this year.
The first fight was supposed to happen in August before Deontay Wilder’s team won a legal battle against Fury, securing the Bronze Bomber’s right to a contracted trilogy rematch.
Both Joshua and Fury have since hinted they’re prepared to re-enter negotiations for a fight in 2022, but they must first get past their next opponents.
Joshua vs Fury – where will it take place?
As stated by Hearn, the first fight is likely to take place in Saudi Arabia, with a second eyed to take place in the UK.
Anthony Joshua successfully regained his titles against Andy Ruiz Jr in Saudi while Tyson Fury wowed the crowd by making a WWE appearance in the Gulf State.
There, he was victorious over Braun Strowman.
Joshua vs Fury – how much will they earn?
A lot. That’s the simple answer. Both Joshua and Fury have already made upwards of £40million each for their respective fights with Ruiz Jr and Wilder.
So when they fight each other, expect the figures to be at last double that.
Hearn also spoke earlier this year about how he expects the pair to make ‘Mayweather money’, referencing the grand purses Floyd used to pull in for his fights.

“It’s certainly I think, you know, the biggest fight, the most lucrative fight, in boxing right now – unquestionably,” Hearn said.
“That’s Mayweather money. You know? And we haven’t seen Mayweather money since Mayweather.
“I think it’s impossible to give a number. There’s no set purses for this fight because, obviously, it’s a revenue share. But it’s certainly gonna break records everywhere.”
It’s been speculated, however, that the pair could earn £80m each.
Joshua vs Fury – what hurdles are left to clear?
Unfortunately for fight fans, a few.
First, Joshua has to defeat Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch, which could take place in early 2022.
After beating Deontay Wilder in their trilogy fight, Fury will face either Dillian Whyte or Otto Wallin.
Should Joshua and Fury come out of their bouts victorious, talks will likely resume between the pair for a fight to take place in early 2022.
Joshua vs Fury – what channel will it be on in the UK?
This could be a tricky one.
Joshua has an exclusive deal with Sky Sports in the UK, one which expires after this fight with Usyk, and while Fury’s deal with BT Sport isn’t exclusive, he’s closely aligned with them.
Fury, however, has fought on Sky Sports Box Office before, most notably for his world heavyweight title win over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015.
Don’t be surprised if the two sides come to an agreement where both Sky and BT decide to work together on a dual-broadcast.
Streaming DAZN, however, have also entered the UK market, and they’re likely to want a slice of the pie, too.
One thing holding any potential bids from DAZN, however, is that they don’t offer fights on pay-per-view, like Sky and BT do.
In the U.S., the situation is also tricky.
Fury has an exclusive deal with ESPN, while Joshua’s last four fights have been shown on streaming service DAZN in the U.S.
ESPN offer a pay-per-view service for their big fight nights while DAZN work on a subscription-based model, making a deal for the fight to be shown on both channels difficult.
Arum recently said: “It will be a normal pay-per-view here (in the United States). ESPN will be the distributor.”
“Obviously, the big market is the UK, where everyone is talking it will do three million homes. Sky and BT both will have it on pay-per-view.”
DAZN will likely stream the fight for rest of the world territories.
Joshua vs Fury – what have they all said?
Joshua: “We were meant to have fought by now and here we are talking about it,” Joshua said.
“But it will happen. I know what people are saying about boxing politics, but I’ll promise before the end of my career I will have done everything in my power to fight Tyson Fury.”
Fury: “Anthony Joshua’s fought not one heavyweight in his prime.

“They’re all former good men, back in the early 2000s, late 2000s, but not in 2020-odd. They were good men 10 years ago.”
Hearn: “I think AJ, in his head, probably thinks the fight will never happen. I would like to be more hopeful and I think it will happen.
“If AJ knocks out Usyk and Fury knocks out Wilder then in four months we are talking about an even bigger fight. One could lose or look bad but I do get the feeling if they both win then the fight is huge. I am hoping it works out for the best.” More
