Wilder, 36, is currently banned from competing until April but plans to return to the ring shortly after serving his medical suspension.
Coach Malik Scott told World Boxing News: “We should be back in camp, in my opinion, no later than March and fight in May.
“Or we may be back in camp before March. It all depends on how he recovers, how he’s feeling, how everything’s going.”
He added: “Deontay said he’s going to go on vacation, and I’m all for that, and in a few months, we’ll be back in camp, and he’ll be fighting.”
Scott insists his former opponent’s return to the ring won’t be a tune-up fight.
He said: “With Deontay, obviously, the first fight back is not going to be at the level that he just left. We have to do things the right way.

“But at the same time, we can’t go much lower than that because he’s a high entertainment revenue fighter.
“He’s big-time boxing. We have to give him a threat because Deontay gets up for threats.
“Obviously, it won’t be a Fury level, but it won’t be somebody down in the bucket.
“We’re not going to get somebody with a record of 27-11. That’s not happening.
“It has to be a name that fans have heard of.”
Although his man didn’t have his hand raised, Scott admits he thoroughly enjoyed Wilder’s epic trilogy fight with The Gypsy King.

He said: “It was so good. It was such a good fight. Deontay would be out on his feet, and I knew we had clipped Fury.
“Then Fury would come back, and then he would knock Fury down, and Fury would get up.
“There were certain shots Fury was hitting Deontay with that he was on fumes.
“He caught Deontay with a shot one time from the blindside, and Deontay took that shot and continued to fight.
“Fury continued to come forward. I’ve never seen a gutsy balls trilogy at that level in the heavyweight division.
“That was a real battle of the giants.
“Before the fight, I called Fury a very, very good fighter.
“After the fight, I gave him his credit and called him a great fighter because he beat a great fighter.”

‘Lack of confidence in gameplan’ – Anthony Joshua asks head of security for advice ahead of Oleksandr Usyk rematch

EDDIE Hearn has revealed Anthony Joshua had a ‘lack of confidence’ before his fight against Oleksandr Usyk in September. The 32-year-old former heavyweight champion asked his head of security for advice on his gameplan for the bout before being outboxed over 12 rounds by the Ukrainian.

And AJ’s promoter Hearn has now revealed what the Watford-born fighter said to head of security and former heavyweight Clifton Mitchell before the clash.
The promoter believes Joshua had too many voices in his ear before facing Usyk.
He told True Geordie’s Pain Game podcast: “There was too much information and too many points of view.
“When he gets in the ring Clifton Mitchell his head of security is there and he is of course a former heavyweight champion.
“And he goes in to the ring and starts talking to him about the fight, ‘oh what do you think Clifton?’ and that is a sign that there is a lack of confidence in the gameplan and what you have to do.
“If you know categorically what you have to do and if you don’t do it you will be f****** told during that one minute break between rounds, you don’t go searching for the answers.
“The problem is with AJ is that he is smart, but he needs to know that he has the strategy right and is prepared with repetition.”

AJ came under fire for trying to match the crafty Ukrainian for boxing skills when they faced off at Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
So he recently jetted out to America to trial new coaches to work with him alongside current trainer McCracken.
That would seemingly further increase the tactical points of view within his camp.
But the Brit has confirmed he knows TWO ways in which he can win the rematch against Usyk.
Joshua has invoked his rematch clause with former cruiserweight Usyk and is expected to battle the newly-crowned champ again around March.
And he could even have Tyson Fury help train him after The Gypsy King offered his services for the rematch.
Joshua seemingly accepted Fury’s help and even wants to spar with the fellow Brit before his second bout against Usyk.

The pair 31 and 29 respectively, came to blows during a heated press conference last month – with Plant suffering a small cut under his eye.
And pound-for-pound king Canelo is determined to make Sweethands pay for his pre-fight antics in brutal fashion.
The Mexican said: “It’s new for me to have this much bad blood with an opponent.
“It’s very different from normal and it’s definitely the most animosity I’ve had with an opponent heading into a big fight.
“I’m sticking with my prediction of a knockout before round eight.
“The first couple of rounds will be difficult, but as the fight progresses, I am going to be able to get him out of there.

“I delivered the message I had to at our press conference. I don’t have to say anything else to Plant. I’m just going to prepare to face him in the ring on November 6.”
The viral scuffle between Canelo and Plant began when the Tennesse titan attempted to slap his opponent.
And Guadalajara gladiator Canelo believes his foe will find it tough to keep his emotions in check during fight week.
He continued: “I’ve never been involved in anything like what happened at the first press conference between me and Caleb.
“I’ve been in the ring for huge fights like this a lot of times.
“For him, it’s going to be a challenge being in there for a fight of this magnitude for the first time. He’s going to have to control his emotions.”

Canelo Alvarez says Caleb Plant fight will be ‘a little easy for me’
Plant goes into the Sin City showdown as a huge underdog, but his good friend Andre Ward reckons he’ll shock the world and dethrone Canelo.
During an appearance on Max on Boxing, the former light-heavyweight king said: “This is a great fight and a great opportunity for a fighter like Caleb Plant.
“I love this moment in his career where he’s fought solid competition and he has the look and makings of a fighter that can go to the next level.
“He has to prove it. I love these proving moments, and he’s getting that opportunity against Canelo on November 6. Trust me, it’s not going 12.
“The thing about Caleb Plant, he couldn’t land a sucker punch on Canelo in the press conference. Canelo’s defense is real.

“He’s got to hit him in the ring now and Canelo knows it’s coming. Who do you like in that fight? Canelo or Caleb Plant?
“I’m going to go with Caleb Plant. That’s my brother, so I’m going to support him all the way, but he’s got to prove it.
“He’s got the ability, he’s got the skills, but he’s got to turn up.”

Oleksandr Usyk leaps to defence of Anthony Joshua and says Brit turned in ‘brilliant’ display in Tottenham tussle

OLEKSANDR USYK has leapt to the defence of Anthony Joshua – insisting the Brit turned in a ‘brilliant’ display in their Tottenham tussle.Slick southpaw Usyk ripped the unified heavyweight titles from Joshua’s grasp with a boxing masterclass at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Joshua, 32, was ridiculed for trying to out-fox the wily Usyk, but the Ukrainian reckons AJ has been wrongly criticised.
He told DAZN: “It’s unfortunate to hear that they are being harsh on Joshua’s performance, because I was there in the ring with him and he was very good.
“I really do not know where they find grounds for criticism. It was truly a brilliant fight.
“I am now preparing for another challenging match against him next year and I will need to be at my best to keep my championships.”
Uysk and Joshua will renew their rivalry early next year, although a date for their rematch has not been finalised.
Joshua has been urged to axe head coach Rob McCraken for the potentially do-or-die bout.

But the prospect of facing a new and improved AJ doesn’t faze the former undisputed cruiserweight king.
He said: “I am not sure who will train Joshua for the rematch.
“I have seen the speculation about who he may hire for next year but it does not matter to us who trains him.
“Our goal is to be prepared for everything and I train to improve my own chances, not based on my opponent.
“He also promised to be more aggressive and dangerous in the rematch.
“If that is the case, great. I’d be glad to experience that side of Joshua. I am sure it will be another brilliant fight.”
Joshua is champing at the bit to settle the score with Usyk and avenge his second professional loss, telling iFL TV: “I’m done with losing.

“I’m done with trying to learn the sweet science. [Usyk] might get thrown on the floor in the next fight because this is war.”
He added: “I’m heading into my 12th world title fight now and the learning is done. It’s done. It’s just war.
“I’m annoyed. I’m boiling up just speaking about it.”

Chantelle Cameron was crowned unified light-welterweight champion after beating Mary McGee – and puts herself one win away from undisputed glory.
Cameron saw off McGee over ten rounds, in what was promoted to headliner at the O2 Arena after Dillian Whyte pulled out of fighting Otto Wallin with a shoulder injury.
She added the IBF and Ring Magazine titles to her collection while making sure her WBC belt went back home with her to Northampton.
Cameron will now await the winner between Kali Reis, 35, and Jessica Camara, 33, where the WBO and WBA titles will be on the line on November 19.
But the British star has no preference who prevails, but was quick to praise rugged McGee after ten frantic rounds.
Camerson said: “She was tough, she took some shots, I always thought she’d be tough and powerful, she’s a really tough girl.
“It doesn’t matter who I face next I’m taking the belts anyway.”
Cameron, 30, was the slicker operator throughout, often managing to walk McGee, 35, onto shots, as the American did not stop coming forward.
She chose to box the majority of the fight on the back foot, controlling it with her jab, but put enough distance between herself and McGee as the more accurate puncher.

Judges score the bout, 100-90, 99-91, and 99-92, all three to your winner by unanimous decision CHANTELLE CAMERON.
The scores were rather wide, for what looked like a closer affair, but no doubt Cameron deserved the nod and the IBF and Ring Magazine belts to add to her WBC.
She now awaits the winner between Kali Reis and Jessica Camara, where the WBO and WBA titles will be on the line.
The winner of that will then unify against Cameron.
