And Iron Mike hopes to one day have an exhibition with WBC champ Tyson Fury
And The Baddest Man on the Planet says he’d implement the body-heavy strategy he used for his two fights with Donovan ‘Razor’ Ruddock to take down The Gypsy King.
When asked how he fight the Brit, he told ES News: “Remember how I fought ‘Razor’ Ruddock in the first fight, that’s how we fight him.”
Despite being deep into his 50s, Tyson reckons he could dodge the 6ft 9in Brit’s blows.
He said: “I would like to hope so.”
Tyson is gearing up to return to the ring in February, although an opponent for his next outing has yet to be finalised.
And the American hopes to persuade Fury to have an exhibition with him with a good display in his next outing.

He said: “If this (Lennox Lewis) goes well, Imma push myself deeper.
“I don’t know, maybe, Tyson Fury, he told me, if I keep winning if I do good. That’s my buddy.”
YouTuber turned boxer Logan Paul is reportedly set to be Tyson’s opponent for his second exhibition.
When asked how he thinks he’d get on against The Maverick, Tyson laughed and said: “Maybe.
“I’m an old man, you know? I don’t know what I could do now.”
He added: “Anything is possible, you know.
“Because by doing this we have a great exponent of charities to give to so the charities win both ways.”

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn is adamant the elder Paul brother shouldn’t set foot in the ring with the former undisputed heavyweight champ.
The Matchroom Boxing chief told The True Geordie: “I prefer that to Floyd and Logan. I thought that was absolutely a load of bs.
“I thought, ‘What?’ You got a pound for pound great again against a bloke that, I mean, not can’t fight.
“It was horrible, horrible to watch. Tyson and [Paul] it shouldn’t happen.
“But I would at least want to find out what would happen in that fight. I hold my hands up.”

‘He’s never fought a Joe Calzaghe’ – Canelo Alvarez could be all-time ring legend but I’d have beaten him, says Calzaghe

CANELO ALVAREZ is on course to become an all-time boxing legend – but the Welsh dragon still reckons he would have slayed him.Joe Calzaghe ended his career undefeated after 46 brilliant wins and would have been the undisputed super-middleweight champion if it were not for grubby boxing politics.
Boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez is set to battle Caleb Plant on Saturday in Las Vegas
That is the iconic four-belt status the 31-year-old is going for on Saturday, as he aims to add Caleb Plant’s IBF 12st title to his WBC, WBA and WBO belts.
The magnificent Mexican now boasts a record of 56-1-2 and has also collected world titles at super-welter, middle and light-heavyweight – where Calzaghe ended his legendary reign with wins over Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr.
Another Las Vegas win this weekend will put Canelo in 49-year-old Calzaghe’s pound-for-pound top-10 of all time – but the brilliant Brit still backs himself to have trumped the ace.
He said: “if he continues the way he’s going and winning titles, he has to be in the top 10 of all-time probably, based on what he’s achieved.
“And his longevity, longevity is important as well. Winning the title is one thing, we’ve seen fighters win a title and then lose it, so for him to still be the champion is impressive.
“He’s still only 31, he’s just a true, true champion and I have a lot of respect for him.

“But of course I’d win against him in my prime! He’s never fought a Joe Calzaghe and I never fought Canelo, but it’s a fight when I look at it that I would love to have had.
“Of course, I wish I was around now when Canelo is around. Of course it would be a tough fight, but I think I would have won.
“He’s 5ft 8ins, it would have been a great fight, but I would have won!”
Southpaw Calzaghe believes his unorthodox stance – that helped fellow lefties Erisland Lara and Austin Trout give Canelo problems in their distance losses – would have helped him secure a fantasy-fight victory.
But Plant, 29, will have a stance and style all too familiar for the Guadalajara gunslinger, leaving Calzaghe unsure how the underdog can stun the world.
“I was a southpaw who threw punches in bunches, combinations and had speed but I could also adapt,” the happily retired hero said.
Boxing great Joe Calzaghe insists he would have beaten Canelo Alvarez in his primeCredit: Getty
“When you are fighting a guy like Canelo who you have to have a plan B, if you don’t then you will never be competitive.
“You need to be able to switch from the front to backfoot, from aggressive or defensive, to try to confuse him and put him off of his gameplan.
“Plant has good skills, he is slick and can move, he has fast hands but you’re in a completely different league when you fight Canelo.
“Plant needs to land combinations and have the better jab but Canelo is a master of closing down the range and cutting off the ring so Plant needs a plan B.
“I don’t know how hard Plant hits, I know he only has 12 KOs (from 21 wins) so this fight will answer a lot of questions because Canelo is red hot.”
Canelo is as hot in the box office and pay-per-view stakes as he is in the rankings, meaning anyone who signs up to face him earns life-changing money – win or lose.

And Calzaghe reckons that extra power could hand the flame-haired fighter a psychological boost before the bell even rings.
He laughed: “I think having that hold over an opponent could have an effect but I wouldn’t know as I never had that luxury, I had to really earn my big paydays!
“But going from earning hundreds of thousands of pounds to multi-millions in one hit is bound to affect you because it is life changing.
“You could instantly feel you are set for life and your hunger could suffer.
“It must be like winning the lottery – but instead of having to pay for a ticket you have to get your a*** kicked.”
BT Sport Box Office will show Canelo v Plant exclusively live in the UK on Saturday 6th November. For more info go to www.bt.com/sportboxoffice

Boxing legend Tyson Fury took two women on a wild eight-hour booze bender after they asked him for a selfie

WORLD boxing champion Tyson Fury took two fans on an eight-hour booze bender — after the women asked the heavyweight for a selfie.Stella Kabelis, 21, and Kailah Downie, 24, knocked back shots and danced with Tyson at a bar.
Stella Kabelis, 21, (left) and Kailah Downie, 24, knocked back shots and danced with Tyson at a bar
Tyson went back to their Manchester flat
A pal said: “The girls couldn’t believe their luck.”
The 33-year-old fighter then went back to their Manchester flat while wife Paris was at home.
A source said: “Stella and Kailah were really starstruck and enjoyed a taste of the high life with him. He was a perfect gentleman and they have been telling their friends what an amazing time they had. They think Tyson is great.
“Stella and Kailah are normal hard-working girls who went out for a midweek drink and ended up doing shots and dancing with one of the world’s most famous sporting stars. They felt very lucky to be out with him and he was very complimentary to them and they loved his fun-loving personality.
“He’s a beast of a boxer, but out of the ring he’s a gentle, fun-loving guy.”
The dad of six, who has been partying hard since his epic world title win over Deontay Wilder last month, was out in Manchester on Wednesday afternoon while wife Paris was at home with their newborn baby.
Stella and Kailah spotted him and coach Andy Lee in a swanky restaurant. They filmed him before posting on Snapchat: “Not Tyson Fury being sat right behind us.”
Outside they approached the two-times world champ for a selfie and Tyson happily obliged.

A picture posted on Stella’s Facebook page shows Tyson – wearing a navy blue blazer, jeans and a white shirt – smiling with his arms around both girls.
It racked up over 150 likes after she captioned it: “Us and the Gypsy King.” Kailah later shared a selfie with the boxer on Instagram, posting: “Trust me to have no make-up on the day I meet Tyson Fury.”
The group exchanged numbers before the girls headed to the city’s Hatch pop-up complex where they downed £8.50 Pornstar cocktails from the Miami Ice bar.
But they were floored when they got a WhatsApp message from Tyson’s pal Andy asking them to join them for something to eat.
Stella replied: “I’m just having a drink in a bar. I’m not looking my best right now to be joining for dinner as I’m in my comfies. I’m heading home but I can get ready.”
Do you and your girlfriend want to come and meet me and Tyson?Andy LeeTyson’s coach
Andy replied: “You look good to me.”
He then asked: “Do you and your girlfriend want to come and meet me and Tyson?”
The delighted girls were only too happy to have a round or two with the boxer, who has a personal fortune estimated at £40million.
A photo posted on Stella’s Snapchat account later shows her cosying up to Tyson at a cocktail bar.
He can be seen knocking back shots, while pretending to throw some of his famous jabs.
Kailah then posted footage of the boxer busting some moves on the dancefloor alongside two laughing emojis, saying: “As if I’m on a night out with Tyson Fury.”
As the night wore on, there was no sign of any imminent stoppages, and another picture on Stella’s Snapchat account showed Tyson standing in the street, captioned: “Back with the boy x.”
The group then travelled to Stella and Kailah’s £1,000-a-month flat in Salford to continue partying.
The boxer FaceTimed his reality TV star brother Tommy, with a pic showing Stella and Tyson holding up his phone, captioned: “On FaceTime to Tommy Fury.”
    ‘ON FACETIME TO TOMMY FURY’
Tyson eventually called it a night at around 11.30pm — more than eight hours after he met the girls.
Stella and Kailah are understood to work for Covid testing firm Randox. Stella has a criminal justice degree from the University of Plymouth and posts saucy snaps on her social media.
Last night a pal said: “The girls couldn’t believe their luck. They love a night out but never expected to party with Tyson Fury.
“They were off work on Wednesday so they went shopping before heading for drinks. But in the afternoon they saw Tyson with his pal and started chatting with him.
“Stella swapped numbers with Andy and he messaged soon after inviting them out for dinner.
“They had a few cocktails together and were asking Tyson about his boxing career and he really enjoyed being in the company of some down-to-earth girls.
    SAUCY SNAPS
“He might be heavyweight champion, but he’s a man of the people and likes to live as normal a life as possible. They thought Tyson was very charming and he was very complimentary to them.
“They had some drinks and did some shots. Tyson is really enjoying partying at the moment following his last fight. The four of them carried on the party at the apartment for another couple of hours until Tyson left at around 11.20pm.
“The girls assume he left so that he could go home to his wife Paris and his children.”
The day before, Tyson had a game of bingo in his home town of Morecambe with TV stars Andrew Flintoff and Jamie Redknapp.
Tyson’s gruelling third fight against Wilder last month saw him get up from the canvas twice to win in the 11th round — cementing his place in heavyweight boxing folklore.
He, Paris and their family then spent two days partying in Las Vegas, enjoying champagne and vodka-fulled binges.
    ‘GOOD FUN’
Paris and Tyson met when they were teenagers and married in 2008.
She gave birth to their sixth child Athena in August, and the pair previously told how they want 11 children.
Stella remained tight-lipped when contacted by The Sun but acknowledged the night was “good fun”.
She added: “I’m not willing to make any further comment.”
Tyson’s spokeswoman was contacted for comment.

But after seeing Paul take part in a less than impressive exhibition with Floyd Mayweather in June, Hearn is adamant he shouldn’t share the ring with Iron Mike.

But the Baddest Man on the Planet has jokingly claimed he may not get the better of the elder Paul brother if they do trade blows.
Fan favourite Tyson revealed to SunSport last month that he plans to lace up his gloves again in February.
He said: “I am going to have a return fight in February and we are pretty sceptical about the opponent.
“But it will be a really stimulating opponent.”
Paul, 26, has remained tight-lipped on the prospect of facing Tyson, although he did reveal he fancied his chances against the legend after going the distance with Mayweather.

During an episode of his IMPAULSIVE podcast, he said: “Someone mentioned Mike Tyson, like how funny is it?
“One great at a time. Or is it like you can only fight one?
“My lawyer mentioned it and he was like, ‘No, Tyson will rip your head off, you don’t stand a chance’.

Canelo Alvarez start time against Caleb Plant will NOT be delayed if UFC 268 main card runs over after Kovalev shambles

CANELO ALVAREZ’s eagerly-anticipated showdown with Caleb Plant will NOT be pushed back this weekend – despite its clash with a monster UFC card. The pound-for-pound king’s undisputed super-middleweight title fight with the American will take place at the same time as a blockbuster UFC 268 card at Madison Square Garden.

But Showtime Sports chief Stephen Espinoza insist that won’t be happening this weekendCredit: MARK ROBINSON
But Showtime have no plans to push back the pair’s ring walks to accommodate for the bonanza of mixed martial arts at the Garden.
Showtime Sports president Stephen Espinoza told ESPN: “We’re completely unconcerned with the timing of any other competing event.
“Canelo Alvarez is the No.1 star in boxing by far at the box office.
“We wouldn’t be doing his event justice if we were putting his audience in the arena, and on television, on a delay and sort of compromising the viewer experience and fan experience to accommodate some other event happening across the country.”
Espinoza anticipates some ‘crossover’ but is confident the UFC’s penultimate pay-per-view card of the year won’t detract from Canelo’s potentially historic bout.
He said: “I’m not saying that competing combat sports on that same night will never draw from our audience.

“But in terms of the overlapping fan appeal, I don’t think there are any Canelo fans who are worried about Colby Covington and vice versa for that matter.
    “Undoubtedly, there is some crossover.
“But if you look at the kinds of events, the demographics, we’re relatively unconcerned about losing [our] audience.”
But renowned pundit and coach Teddy Atlas reckons several boxing fans will end up tuning into Kamaru Usman’s clash with bitter rival Colby Covington.
He said: “Those fans will say, ‘I’m going to go over where I’m guaranteed a competitive fight, I’m going to go with the sure thing, and guess what else I’m going to get? The undercard.’
“Boxing fans are not dumb. I have news for the promoters: The gig is up.
“They’ve been suffering through some of the crap on the undercards and guess what? There is no crap on the undercard of the UFC.
“Every one of those fights can be life or death, every one of those fights can be a war.”
Canelo will bid to become undisputed 168lb champion this wekeendCredit: REX
The clash of pay-per-view events is the second time in three years a Canelo fight has fallen on the same night as a UFC pay-per-view event.
In November 2019, the Mexican’s WBO light-heavyweight title fight with Sergei Kovalev clashed with Jorge Masvidal’s UFC 244 clash with Nate Diaz.
And that night, Golden Boy made the stunning decision to delay the fight until after the conclusion of the BMF fight.
That delay led to a fully kitted out Canelo catching some shut-eye less than an hour before his 11th-round KO of the Russian.

Paul’s lack of experience will see him go into the bout as a big underdog, but Frampton reckons The Problem Child will defy the odds and blow up TNT’s undefeated record.
The former WBA and IBF super-bantamweight told talkSPORT: “To be honest, I don’t really know much about them.
“I’ve seen Jake Paul, little highlights of him. I’ve seen Tommy Fury, I was actually working for BT for one of his fights as a pundit.
“I think that if you put a gun to my head, I think I fancy Jake Paul in that fight, if I’m being honest.
“Although he’s very, very new to boxing, he’s alright. He can box a bit.
“Yet to fight a proper boxer, but I think he’s been very careful with the opponents he does pick and I think Tommy Fury, a novice professional – let’s call a spade a spade, that’s what he is, a very novice professional with a lot to learn – I think he’s [Paul] getting him at the right time.

“I would probably edge Paul in that fight. I don’t like to say it because I don’t know how good that looks on boxing if he beats an actual boxer. I would edge him in the fight though.”
Should Fury lose to the former Disney star, he could be forced to change his name to ‘Tommy Fumbles’.
But dad John is confident his reality TV star son will keep his and the family’s pride intact by putting a beating on the younger Paul brother.

He told BT Sport: “Tommy knows he’s up against a stacked deck, but he should still beat Jake Paul at a canter.
“And if he can’t, there’s no way in the boxing world for him.
“It’s make or break, for both men, but it’ll hit Tommy harder because Tommy’s supposed to be a professional boxer.
“Tommy will work hard, he’ll do what he’s gotta do.
“Has Tommy got the skill to beat him? Yes. Has he got the power to knock him out? Yes.

“All it is with Tommy – he’s young, can he handle the big occasion on the night?
“But I’m sure he’s thought about it many times before and he’s got the king of the ring in his corner.
“Tyson’s gonna be in his corner that night. I think Tyson’s flying out there in a few weeks to help him out.

EDDIE HEARN has leapt to the defence of Anthony Joshua following criticism of the former heavyweight champ’s recent X-rated interview.Several boxing fans took aim at AJ after his latest interview – in which he declared he was ‘done with f***ing losing’ after his unanimous decision defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.

But promoter Eddie Hearn has leapt to the defence of JoshuaCredit: INSTAGRAM
Critics accused Joshua of showing his true persona in the interview with iFL TV, a notion which has annoyed his long-time promoter Hearn.
The Matchroom Boxing chief told DAZN: “I just think that a lot of people when AJ gives like that, they’re like, ‘Oh, the real AJ has come out.’
“The real AJ has always BEEN there. But I think because of his position in British boxing, he’s always under pressure.
“He’s an ambassador, he’s a role model – he has to behave in a certain way.
“He shouldn’t swear too much, there’s kids watching.
“And I think now, he’s just sort of thrown it out of the window and gone, ‘You know what, let’s just say it how it is.

“‘I need to go to war with Oleksandr Usyk and I’m gonna rip his head off.’
“And we need that, we need that mentality.
“It’s not something that he’s trying to get back. It’s there. But we need to bring it out firing.”
Joshua, 32, had the unified heavyweight titles ripped from his clutches by a slick and savvy Usyk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in September.
And the Watford warrior is champing at the bit to exact revenge on the undefeated Ukrainian.
Hearn added: “Right now, he’s angry, mad. And that’s perfect because that’s fueling the fire in his belly to go and [win].
“And he wants to win more than anything. The best thing that I’m seeing from him now is this.”
Joshua will renew his rivalry with Usyk early next year, although a date for their rematch has not yet been finalised.
Hearn is eyeing a spring showdown between the Olympic gold medallists, telling talkSPORT: “There’s nothing wrong with the Ukraine, I have no idea what it’s like in February, but I’d like it back in the UK.
“We will sit down with Usyk’s team and we will look at the options.

“We’ve had a couple of international offers come in for that rematch as well.
“I said to AJ the other day ‘are you sure you don’t lose these fights deliberately just to have these massive rematches?’
“It’s a huge fight again, but I’d love to do it back in the UK, probably in March or April.

Andy Ruiz Jr planning for ring return in January and wants Tyson Fury, Wilder, Usyk, Whyte or Joshua trilogy in 2022

ANDY Ruiz Jr has the world’s top heavyweights in his sights as the Mexican fighter targets a January return to the ring. The 32-year-old named Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder, Oleksandr Usyk, Dillian Whyte AND an Anthony Joshua trilogy as potential future fights.

Originally Ruiz was targeting Polish fighter Adam Kownacki – but that now looks unlikely after two defeats on the bounce for the heavyweight.
Ruiz though still insists there’s plenty of options for his next bout set for January.
Speaking on the Last Stand Podcast, Ruiz said: “We’re still looking but the door is open and there’s so many opportunities right now.”
And after Fury’s stunning victory over Wilder in Las Vegas, Ruiz has revealed he backs himself to come out on top against The Bronze Bomber.
On the possibility of fighting him, Ruiz said: “Yes I do, and I think that would be an amazing fight me against Deontay Wilder.
“We’re both part of the same team, and it’s just business.”

“I wouldn’t mind getting in the ring with him, I’m sure I could beat him.”
Ruiz also went on to namedrop Fury, Usyk, Joshua and Whyte as potential opponents.
But after he laboured to victory over Chris Arreola back in May, Ruiz is unlikely to get a shot at the elite heavyweights anytime soon.
His fight against Arreola was Ruiz’s first time back in the ring since being beaten by Anthony Joshua in July 2019.
The 40-year-old veteran forced Ruiz to take a knee in the second ground before the former unified champ secured victory via unanimous decision.
And boxing fans on Twitter seem to think he’s not on the same level as the likes of Fury and AJ, with one saying: “I like Andy, good guy, but he doesn’t stand a chance. Hate to say it”
Meanwhile another claimed: “Just the 6 fights that he won’t be getting then.”
Instead ex-IBF titleholder Charles Martin has also been touted as a potential next opponent – as well as Cuban fighter Luis Ortiz.
