“We will start talking to Team Usyk over the next couple of weeks and pin down the venue.”

The undefeated Usyk is hoping to make his first defence of the unified belts in his homeland of Ukraine.
Hearn isn’t against the idea of taking the fight abroad, although he’d prefer it to take place in the UK.
He added: “I would like it back in the UK. There are other options.
“We have had approaches to stage that fight around the world.
“But last time out was a massive spectacle and, obviously, this time is a much bigger fight.”

A lucrative offer to stage the fight in the Middle East is also on the table.
Usyk’s promoter Alexander Krassyuk told Sky Sports: “We have three options: the United Kingdom, Ukraine and the Middle East.
“We plan to meet with Eddie Hearn within the next couple of weeks to initiate the rematch activities.”
Both parties are hoping to thrash out a deal by the end of the year.
Krassuyk said: “Hopefully by the end of 2021, we will be in the position to take the final decision.”

Boxing champion turned MMA fighter Claressa Shields also repeated the claim, which Paul has insisted is ‘bulls***t’.
The Problem Child said: “Look, it’s a bunch of losers trying to make s*** up to get in the headlines.
“And to get reporters like yourself to ask about that exact question and put their name into the mix so they can get a little bit of clout.
“Having a ‘no knockout clause’ in a contract – I’ve never heard of that.

Former Disney star Paul is gearing up for a December 18 showdown with ex-Love Islander Tommy Fury.
But the 24-year-old still has ambitions of locking horns with former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor.
He said of a potential showdown with The Notorious: “It’s very real, I think that fight happens in the next 36/48 months for sure.

    “It makes financial sense.
“I don’t have a message for Conor. At this point, he needs me more than I need him.

After claiming the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight world titles on Joshua’s home soil Usyk could be keen to take the Brit back to his native Ukraine.

As for Whyte, he will likely appreciate the fact Usyk’s camp are focused on fighting Joshua.
That opens to door for his first world title fight against Fury – one which he thinks will be massive in Britain.

EA Sports ‘give green light to new Fight Night after UFC game’ with last release coming a DECADE ago

EA SPORTS are set to bring back legendary boxing computer game Fight Night. But sports fans will have to wait – developers are focussing on the next UFC release scheduled for late next year, according to Video Games Chronicle.
The last Fight Night offering came back in 2011
Boxing fans will be delighted that there are plans in place to bring back Fight Night
The last incarnation of the legendary platform game was back in 2011, with the Fight Night Champion title.
This was available on PS3, Xbox 360 and iOS devices.
Previously, EA Canada’s Fight Night was an annual fixture after its debut in 2004 earned rave reviews and sold over a million copies.
And despite Champion also being well received, the series has since gone on hold with the developer focusing its efforts on creating games for the officially licensed UFC franchise.
Bringing the classic back will delight one big name in the boxing world – promoter Eddie Hearn.
The Matchroom boss has previously tweeted to EA Sports to re-release that popular boxing game.

ARE YOU IN? IT’S GO TIME ON OUR COMPETITION TO WIN £5,000 (T&Cs apply. 18+)
And he confirmed that the software giant had responded that they are “looking into” his request.
Fans went wild at the prospect of a full boxing game returning to consoles, after 2018’s Creed: Rise to Glory failed to land a knockout punch.
One Twitter fan wrote: “Would turn Hearn into a hero.”
Another added: “Please let this be true.”

Fury has been hard at work with heavyweight champ brother Tyson in preparation for his showdown with the former Disney star.
But Paul has also been putting in the hard graft, using an altitude training mask for one of his recent runs on the treadmill.
On Tuesday, he shared footage of Tyson putting Tommy through his paces to his Instagram story with the accompanying caption: “They are working.
The following story update showed a topless Paul running on the treadmill with an altitude mask.
The Problem Child’s accompanying caption read: “But so are we.”
Despite being a 4-0 novice, social media sensation Paul will be the biggest name Fury has fought in his young career.

And the weight of expectation is something Paul believes Fury will crack under.
The American said: “He’s only been put in there with opponents that were meant to lose.
“This is his first real test where his opponent isn’t some guy who is just going to flop over.
“He has no idea what he’s getting himself into.
‘”This is his first time under the big lights, on the big stage, and he’s going to crack under pressure.”
Although he believes Fury will crumble, Paul admits TNT will be the most accomplished boxer he’s faced so far.

He said: “The beautiful thing about this fight is the unknown. Is he actually a Fury, or will we find out that he’s just a half Fury?
“Does he have the heart like his brother, or is he just living in the shadow of his brother.
“The beautiful thing about this fight is stepping into the unknown, because this is also my first time fighting a real boxer, whatever that means?
“He’s undefeated, he’s young, same age, same weight, same height, so it’s really a perfect match-up.
“We’re just going to see who worked harder, who wants it more and who has that dog inside of them.”

Chisora fell to a points defeat when the two fought in May – with the Brit fuming at the judges’ decision.
They scored it 115-113 Chisora, 116-111 and 115-113 to Parker.
In a hilarious video recorded by iFL TV, Chisora decided to ring up the boxing chief Robert Smith to ask for a referee to be drafted in from the US.
He said: “Hey Robert, listen before we start, I got you on loudpseaker, this is being recorded.
“This is Derek Chisora here. Listen, I raised a question when I was on the podium that I need a good referee.
“Is there any chance I can get an American referee for my fight?”

Smith replied “I doubt it, I haven’t had any request from the promoter.”
But Chisora pushed his case, and said he will get the wheel turning to make it happen.
He continued: “I will make the promoter request it, is that ok?
“Listen I’m not blaming anybody, I just asked the request. I will ask the promoter to request it.
“I’m going to pressure Eddie now and we are going to deal with it.”
Chisora’s pleas came after he fumed once again at his defeat in the first Parker fight in the latest press conference.
I am upset after the first fight, I don’t believe the fight stats so it shows you how crooked this sport is sometimesDerek ChisoraBritish Heavyweight Boxer
He said: “Two fights behind closed doors, Manchester again I am half excited and half not to be honest with you, but I might be disappointed with what comes with the fight.
“I am going to tell my management team that we will get an American referee and good judges for the fight as so many times I have been robbed.
“I am going to say this honestly to you the public and Eddie, I want a good American referee so I need one that isn’t from the British Boxing Board of Control.
“I am upset after the first fight, I don’t believe the fight stats so it shows you how crooked this sport is sometimes, all I want to see is you in the ring.
“The only way you win is if Eddie pays the judges and referee for you.”
Chisora believes he should have got the judges’ verdict in his first fight against Dillian Whyte in 2016.
That time he lost on a split decision – but Whyte secured a stunning KO win in their 2018 rematch.

What is the difference between horsehair and foam-padded boxing gloves?

BOXING often throws up plenty of disagreement and conflict, especially between some of the sport’s biggest stars on fight week. One particularly contentious part of fight week is glove selection, where both fighters and their respective camps will inspect and choose the gloves they will where on fight night.

Often, this is a smooth process, but as seen with Tyson Fury’s third fight with Deontay Wilder, it’s not always plain-sailing.
Wilder had already thrown accusations about the legality of Fury’s gloves for their second fight in 2020, and the Bronze Bomber wasn’t happy when Fury selected the same style of glove for the trilogy.
Fury famously wears horsehair material gloves, while Wilder has worn foam padding in his throughout his career, and both are legal.
But who do fighters get so antsy over glove selection? SunSport have rounded up all you need to know about one of the key formalities of fight week, and the differences between the two types of glove.
What is the difference between horsehair and foam-padded boxing gloves?
It sounds self-explanatory – one gloves has horsehair in it, the other has foam.
But the use of horsehair in gloves, a tradition nearly as old as the sport, has been hotly-contested in recent years.
Horsehair padding provides the glove with less protection to both your hands, and your opponent’s face, therefore it favours those in the ring who consider themselves to be a knockout artist, or someone with really heavy hands.
Horsehair gloves are durable, though they absorb sweat easier, thus wearing the padding down quicker than that of their foam relatives.
Dubbed a ‘puncher’s glove’ horsehair gloves are often used by fighters with a come-forward Mexican style of fighting, or those seeking stoppages in their fights, much like Fury did against Wilder.
Fury wore Paffen branded gloves for both the rematch and the trilogy against Wilder, after he employed Kronk coach SugarHill Steward to train him to KO the American.
Paffen gloves use horsehair padding, unlike the majority of modern boxing gloves which use foam padding.

Following their second fight, in which Wilder was stopped in seven rounds, the Alabama native complained Fury’s gloves had an insufficient amount of padding in them, and that Fury’s punches left a dent in his face.
Wilder usually wears Everlast Powerlock gloves, which uses a PVC foam and latex material for padding.
Foam padded gloves have become more popular over the past two decades, as they keep your hands protected and they absorb shock better than horsehair gloves do.
Once Wilder found out that Fury would be using the same gloves for their trilogy, however, he opted to use Everlast MX instead, a horsehair-foam mix, in order to even the playing field.
Another fighter who was opposed to horsehair gloves was Floyd Mayweather, who often had it written into his fight contracts that his opponents weren’t allowed to use gloves with that type of padding.
Conor McGregor was famously banned from using horsehair for their fight back in 2017.
Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez both wore Grant gloves for their 2013 fightCredit: Getty Images – Getty
And Marcos Maidana had to change his gloves from horsehair to foam in 2014 on fight week after Mayweather came away from glove inspection less than impressed with the Argentine’s choice of glove.
Maidana ended up wearing Grant branded gloves, which Mayweather wore for most of his storied career.
Grant gloves are known as the best gloves on the market for those who want their hands to be ultra-protected, and they were perfect for Mayweather, who often suffered with hand injuries.

‘He’s angry’ – Anthony Joshua has already changed style, tactics and training for Oleksandr Usyk rematch, reveals Hearn

ANTHONY JOSHUA has adopted a ‘challenger mentality’ following his devastating defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.Slick southpaw Usyk ripped the unified heavyweight titles from AJ’s grasp in September with a masterclass at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Defeat to the Ukrainian has forced Joshua to look for a new training base and reassess his strategy, which promoter Eddie Hearn believes will do him the world of good.
He told Betfred: “There are fine margins between success and failure and those little percentages of rest relate to that.
“He’s had 14 years in Sheffield now. It’s an incredible facility, but he is God there.
“The amateurs look up to him and his picture is everywhere.
“I say we have to go rough and rugged but he’s got to have that challenger mentality in this fight and he’s got it.
“Everything I hear from him tells me that he wants to win badly and bash Usyk up, which I didn’t hear any of going into the first fight.
    “He’s angry, which is good.

“No decision has been made yet but I do think a change of scenery would be good for him in terms of where his training camp’s based.”
Joshua, 32, has faced strong calls to axe head coach Rob McCracken following his second dethroning.
But Hearn believes the Olympian will be hard-pressed to cut ties with his long-time trainer.
He said: “Robert McCracken is more than just a trainer to AJ. He’s a friend. He’s a mentor. He’s an advisor.
“I think a change of scenery for AJ is sometimes good. I think it was refreshing for him when he went over to America recently.
“Going from getting mobbed wherever he is in the UK to that not happening.
“I’m not saying people don’t know him in America, but it’s different to not being able to walk around here.

“You’re getting photographed everywhere and the thing with AJ is that he’s got time for everybody. That can be extra draining.
“Sometimes he’s taken half an hour’s worth of photographs before he’s even got into training.”
But former unified heavyweight champ Joshua has hinted he could very well ditch McCracken for his rematch with Usyk, which is expected to take place early next year.
He told iFL TV: “As a man, I have to do what’s right for me.
“I speak to Rob about it, and Rob, as a man, agrees that if it’s good for me, he’ll say ‘champ, you do what you’ve got to do’.
“Rob’s not a controlling type of person, he’s very laid back and he’s happy to see the progression of what’s needed.”
