He is now looking to reach an agreement with Fury to face him in the early part of 2022, although a purse split is yet to be agreed.
And the Gypsy King’s promoter Bob Arum has revealed Fury could opt to vacate the WBC title and defend his Ring magazine strap instead if a deal cannot be reached.
He told talkSPORT: “If we can’t come to a deal with Dillian Whyte, we’ll do a fight for the Ring Magazine belt and the ‘lineal’ title and we’ll pick another opponent.
“We’ve gotta get Tyson back in the ring by the end of March…
“Frank [Warren] and I are determined to come to him with an opponent that’s acceptable and we’d love to do that fight in Cardiff.
“Andy Ruiz Jr is a possibility. Joseph Parker I see had a good victory over Derek Chisora – that could be a possibility.

“And we’re looking at a couple of other names that might be appropriate.”
If Fury vacates the belt then Wilder would be in line to fight mandatory challenger Whyte for the belt as he is ranked No1 by the WBC.
Wilder lost the title after being stopped in the seventh round by Fury in February 2020.
He then faced him again back in October, this time getting knocked out in the 11th round despite dropping Fury twice.
Meanwhile, Fury would likely face someone of the calibre of Parker or Ruiz Jr while he waits for a clash with Usyk or Joshua.
Usyk currently holds the IBF, WBA and WBO titles, securing the belts after defeating Joshua by unanimous decision at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in September.

AJ has the contractual right to a rematch with Usyk – an option that looks all the more likely after Whyte was ordered to fight for the WBC belt.
This is because Fury and Usyk were hoping to make an undisputed clash by paying AJ to step aside.
However, with Whyte now also entering the equation, it is highly unlikely Fury and Usyk would opt to pay both Whyte AND Joshua step aside money. More

Mike Tyson would KO sparring partners so quickly so he could get home in time to watch Tom and Jerry, says ex-bodyguard

LEGENDARY fighter Mike Tyson would destroy training partners in minutes not for pleasure – but to get home quicker to watch TV. Tyson often managed to turn planned five hour sparring sessions into less than 60 minute destruction because he was desperate to watch cartoons.

That is the insight from Tyson’s confidante, ex bodyguard and chauffeur Rudy Gonzalez, who had a ringside seat at fights and home battles during the New Yorker’s rise to infamy.
Gonzalez said: “When we trained in Vegas his sparring sessions were from 12 to 5pm.
“He would be the nicest guy beforehand asking the sparring partners: ‘How you doing today, how’s the family?’
“Then he would just knock out five guys all out so within an hour so there was nobody left.
“I saw him punch the heavy bag so hard it broke a few times from the chains and the other boxers would just leave saying: ‘we are not f****** with you today. I do not care how much money you pay me.’
“Anyone who felt they were up for taking him on, he would hit them and they’d snap. Soon after they would pack their bags.

“So one day I asked: ‘Boss I am confused, isn’t this about working on techniques?
“He replied: ‘If I keep it going we will miss Tom and Jerry cartoons.’”
Tyson has retained his love for cartoons, making his own Mike Tyson Mysteries series for Adult Swim.
Gonzalez was by Tyson’s side as he rose from the most terrifying teenage boxer in history to become the youngest heavyweight champion of all time aged 20.
Under the guidance of legendary trainer Cus D’Amato, who became Tyson’s legal guardian after serving time in juvenile prison, he transformed from teen criminal into a street fighting hoodlum and ultimately a polished power punching boxing phenom.
While living with D’Amato at his Catskills home, his training was far more regimented.
    BUILDING A BOXING FRANKENSTEIN
D’Amato passed months before Tyson became heavyweight champion in 1986.
Gonzalez said: “When I first worked with him he had to be home by 9pm, because we were running 10 miles in the morning.
“His manager Jim Jacob and trainer Kevin Rooney along with Cus would make sure I enforced that training schedule.
“Mike was so disciplined. He would sit upstairs in the house studying boxing films for hours, seeing how different fighters moved and hit.
“Cus was injecting him with centuries of training. The peek a boo technique it felt so clean and natural for him. Cus built a boxing Frankenstein.
“Cus would repeat over and over to Mike from the beginning, ‘Do you know you’re going to be heavyweight champion of the world someday?’
“If you say it enough times, you believe it. And if you believe it, then you’ll have no doubt.”
Gonzalez, whose book about his Tyson experiences – The Inner Ring – is being developed into an animated movie, added that other staff were terrified of Tyson during his training time.
Gonzalez has made headlines in the past with his book about his time with Tyson, pointing the finger at promoter Don King for many of the star’s troubles.
He claims King ‘psychologically broke him’, adding: “Mike’s story would have had a different ending if Cus had lived longer.
“His sister Denise always made me promise to keep Mike away from Don, calling him a clown.”
He claimed that he witnessed ‘deceit, betrayal, and fraud perpetrated’ upon Tyson

Why has Tyson Fury fallen out with BBC over SPOTY nomination, and why isn’t boxer at ceremony?

TYSON FURY is nominated to win the BBC Sports Personality Of The Year tonight. But Fury will not be in attendance, and has threatened the Beeb with legal action for including him on the shortlist despite his protestations.
Tyson Fury – and wife Paris – attended in 2015 weeks after Fury’s controversial comments emerged
Why has Tyson Fury fallen out with the BBC over SPOTY nomination?
Fury’s feud with the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards stretches back to his nomination in 2015, the year he defeated Wladimir Klitschko to become Britain’s first heavyweight world champion for six years.
A petition to have Fury removed from the 2015 shortlist generated over 140,000 signatures after the boxing champ had made homophobic and sexist comments in an interview.
He finished that year in fourth place, and attended the awards where he made a speech. Fury also attended the 2018 version.
Fury was nominated again last year after beating Deontay Wilder, but made a similar threat like this year to be left off the shortlist. He finished in sixth place as F1 star Lewis Hamilton triumphed.
BBC ignored his threat, and like this year, kept him on the shortlist.
Fury told the Daily Mail: “The BBC would never let me win even if I knocked out King Kong.
“I will be relaxed in the Florida sunshine while the BBC get on with their SPOTY in winter. Even if they did want to give me another Special Award, which they did once, I won’t be making another speech for them.
“Anyhow, I believe my four nominations are a record. But much more important to me is that America have just given me their much bigger ESPY (US boxing award).”
Fury also attended in 2018 but in recent years has asked for his name to be left off shortlist
What is the BBC SPOTY 2021 shortlist?
Emma Raducanu tops the shortlist after her heroics to win the US Open.
Euro 2020 star Raheem Sterling and Olympic diver Tom Daley in his gold medal-winning year also feature.

SPOTY 2021 winner: Who should win out of six nominees Fury, Raducanu, Sterling, Daley, Peaty and Storey?

TENNIS sensation Emma Raducanu is the bookies’ favourite to win this year’s BBC Sports Personality of the Year. But not everyone agrees.

Boxing icon Tyson Fury doesn’t even want to be nominated.
And there has been outrage that Sir Lewis Hamilton was left off the shortlist altogether.
Here SunSport reporters give their opinion on who should win and why out of the BBC’s shortlist of Tom Daley, Sarah Storey, Raheem Sterling, Adam Peaty, Emma Raducanu and Tyson Fury.
    Martin Lipton
    EMMA RADUCANU
There is only one winner, as far as I am concerned. When I watched Emma Raducanu at Wimbledon, I thought I could see a top 20 player in the making.
I could never have imagined she would be a Grand Slam winner within a couple of months. Her victory at Flushing Meadows was magnificent.
Now she will shoulder the burden of carrying British tennis for a decade.

And even if she cannot, nobody will ever be able to take away her achievement in New York.

    EMMA RADUCANU
LISTEN, we all know Emma Raducanu is nailed on for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award — and so she absolutely should be.
But after a shortlist (with an emphasis on the ‘short’) which failed to include Britain’s greatest ever sportsman Sir Lewis Hamilton, after arguably his most impressive year, are the Beeb actively trying to sink their own flagship?
We can talk until the cows come home about how the SPOTY show is not what it used to be, given the BBC’s dwindling sports portfolio.
And we can bang on about whether the word ‘personality’ should even be included, when personality has rarely been a factor.
We can argue that it’s a programme watched by your Nanna, rather than genuine sports fans. Or that it always was a messy apples-and-oranges comparison business.
And, yes, nobody seems able to get anything right any more.
Yet the idea of crowning the nation’s sportsperson of the year remains a worthy one.

    TYSON FURY
WHAT better way to put the final nail in the coffin of the BBC’s poxy SPOTY award than awarding it to a bloke who threatened to sue the Beeb for even nominating him.
WBC heavyweight king Tyson Fury is at war with Auntie after Gary Lineker stitched him up on stage at the 2015 version and does not want to use his huge global appeal to help publicise the corporation in any way.
So hopefully the boxing superstar runs away with the voting, snubs his red carpet invite and leaves some poor sap to stumble up on the stage and accept the award without it even being on his behalf!

    EMMA RADUCANU
What Emma Raducanu accomplished in September — winning the US Open on her debut aged 18 and as a qualifier — was truly astonishing.
Arguably it was the most incredible British sports story of the 21st Century.
I’d be gobsmacked if she doesn’t win the BBC SPOTY Award on Sunday. She is the most deserving winner in my opinion.
I’m surprised cycling’s golden couple, Jason and Laura Kenny, were left off the shortlist but I’d expect fellow Team GB gold medallists Tom Daley and Adam Peaty to receive plenty of backing in the public vote.

    EMMA RADUCANU
AS much as I’d love to see Tyson Fury win purely for the chaos that would follow, it has to be Emma Raducanu.
The other candidates have been responsible for some of the most outstanding sporting moments of the year…she produced one of a lifetime.

For a British female to win a Grand Slam tournament is massive – for a qualifier to do so without even dropping a set is something that may never be done again.

Tom Daley deserves respect for finally getting the gold after so many years, while Adam Peaty is supreme in his sport.
But due to the magnitude and manner of the win, Raducanu has to get the nod.
    NEIL CUSTIS
    EMMA RADUCANU
Raducanu was not just the sports story of the year but one of the greatest ever.
When the pressure got to her in the fourth round of Wimbledon last June we thought we were seeing another plucky Brit trier whose 15 minutes of fame was done.
Just a few months later she went from qualifying to lifting the US Open trophy without losing a set.
She also gave us one of the great women’s grand slam finals in beating fellow teen Leylah Fernandez 6-4, 6-3.
To think just 12 months earlier she had still been hitting the ball against the wall of her house.
She had a wonderful back story too coming from a working class background.
An only child of a Romanian father and Chinese mother both of whom made sure she achieved academically as well as in sport.
She spoke in fluent mandarin and then Romanian in addressing her supporters around the world post-US Open.
And then she showed off a perfect golf swing we began to wonder if there was anything she couldn’t do.
The best thing of all is that in every interview she has done the 19-year-old, who still mixes with the mates she grew up with, comes across as so down to earth.
Not easy in the tennis world.

    EMMA RADUCANU
Forget about Sports Personality of the Year, try Sports Personality of the Decade.
What Emma did has never and will never happen again in many of our lifetimes, and for that she should be recognised.
Ending a 44-year wait for a British women’s Grand Slam singles champion, as a qualifier, is what dreams are made of not just in tennis, but sport as a whole.
Add to that she was just 18 at the time, with a personality and media presence way beyond those years, this has to be Raducanu’s title at SPOTY.
    Nothing else comes close.

Derek Chisora tipped to beat Deontay Wilder with talks over fight starting… but only if it goes past four rounds

EDDIE HEARN believes Derek Chisora can BEAT Deontay Wilder – but only if the fight goes beyond four rounds.Chisora, 37, lost to Joseph Parker on points on Saturday but Hearn still believes in the Brit.

And Del Boy is not ready to retire yet, despite losing his last three bouts.
But Hearn argued each of his 12 career defeats have come against top-class opposition – including the likes of Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk and Dillian Whyte.
After Chisora’s fight with Parker Hearn told media: “All Chisora’s losses have come at elite level, and Wilder is elite level.
“Listen, Chisora can beat Wilder. If he hits him with a big shot…
“I tell you what, if that fight goes past four rounds, Chisora wins that fight.
“But he’s got to get past four rounds and that’s gonna be really dangerous against someone who punches as hard as Wilder.”

It is quite a claim from Hearn considering Wilder has only ever lost to one man – Fury.
In fact, the Gypsy King is the only opponent the Bronze Bomber has failed to knock-out.
And with Chisora not ready to hang up his gloves he could be keen to face Wilder which would likely be a fight in the US. More

Tyson Fury invites Deontay Wilder over to his stunning Florida home after hearing rival is considering retirement

Fury, 33, is renting a sprawling spot in the USA and has extended an invite to his old foe Wilder.
Florida borders Wilder’s home state of Alabama and the Gypsy King hopes the 36-year-old makes the short journey over.
He told the Mail: “It’s a huge place with an enormous swimming pool.
“Room for all and I’ve told Deontay we’re right handy for Disney World.”
The pair contested an epic trilogy bout – culminating in Fury’s second victory in October.
The fights were bitterly contested with many vicious words exchanged but the fighters have put their beef behind them since.

Tyson would need to have a big house in order to host the Fury and Wilder clans together.
He and wife Paris have six kids while Wilder and fiancee Telli Swift have EIGHT.
Any chat between the two would likely revolve around their three epic fights which Fury reckons may shorten the men’s lives.
The Brit added: “This will take years off our lives. We will feel the effects of this in our later days.”
Wilder recently suggested he may retire soon.
Speaking to Kevin Hart on the Cold As Balls on the Laugh Out Loud Network, Wilder said: “It’s mixed feelings because ultimately I have accomplished all my goals in this sport.
    ‘SHOULD I JUST RETIRE?’
“I told my daughter when she was one that I’d be a champion and I’d be able to support her beyond her belief.
“I’ve done that. There’s a lot of things that I’ve accomplished that I feel I have to prove to anyone because I’ve already proven (myself).
“Should I push forward? Should I give it a go one more time?
“Or should I just retire and focus on the other things that I already have, other things that I want to get into?”
Wilder knocked Fury down in the first and third fights but he got up to fight on.
But Fury was not concerned by his opponent’s famous punch power.
He added: “I fear only God.
“Never worried about fighting any man. And I always expect every heavyweight to carry a massive punch.

“So no. But I was aware that here was a champion with the special capacity to switch off any human with just one hit.
    “Some boxers have fantastic chins.
“But my powers of recovery are unique. Deontay’s not the first to put me down. But like the others he’s found out that I always get up. Always.”

Derek Chisora keeps up post-fight tradition by sharing Five Guys burger with Joseph Parker after epic rematch

DEREK CHISORA kept his post-fight tradition of sharing a Five Guys burger with his opponent going. After recent defeats to Oleksandr Usyk and Joseph Parker, the British fan favourite has treated the travelling teams to a dressing room takeaway.

And following 12 brutal rounds in his rematch with Parker, which ended in a points loss for the Londoner, the pair toasted to a cheeseburger each.
Chisora, 37, was left fuming in May after losing a disputed split-decision against former WBO champion Parker, 29.
But the heavyweight veteran could have no such arguments in the subsequent rematch, which he somehow survived to see the final bell.
Chisora was floored three times but found a way to fight back every time and even threat a sensational comeback win every so often.
But Parker was a comfortable winner and settled the rivalry in convincing fashion.
He said after: “Derek always comes for war, he was one tough guy and never stopped coming forward until the end.

“I felt a lot stronger. It was important to start strong and not be negative from the beginning. You can see there are improvements to be made.
“Derek Chisora is a credit to the sport of boxing. The crowd went mental when he walked out. They just want to support him.”
Despite coming into the fight with 11 losses, Chisora’s unpredictable personality and ruthless aggression makes him a headline act.
But following a 12th and one-sided loss, Parker admitted he would like to see it be Chisora’s last.
He said: “Personally I’d like to see him walk away. He has given boxing everything, but that’s his decision.”

Joseph Parker seals points win in Derek Chisora grudge match as brave Brit somehow lasts distance after three knockdowns

JOSEPH PARKER settled his Derek Chisora rivalry with a dominant points win but only after the brilliant British veteran displayed superhuman feats of courage. The 37-year-old nicknamed War climbed off the canvas once and received two more standing counts after ducking into a hat-trick of sickening uppercuts.

But the proud warrior slashed and slugged his way to the final bell before Parker was awarded a far more convincing decision than their original May meeting, the judges scoring the rematch: 115-110, 115-111 and 114-112.
A looping right hand floored Parker early in the opening round of their first clash, walloping Parker on the back of his head.
So the 29-year-old knew he had to be tuned in from the very opening second to stop a similarly slow and painful start.
Chisora made a great start in that narrow points loss and was expected to empty the tank early again, with a view of taking the result away from the judges’ scorecards following a string of bitter disappointments throughout his rollercoaster career.
But it was the Kiwi who made the more aggressive start, taking the centre of the ring and throwing a range of shots that Chisora caught and deflected.
But a right hook from Parker smashed into Chisora’s unguarded jaw and seemed to stun him, with a minute of the opener still to run.

Chisora roared into the second with his first serious assault and he followed that up with a looped right hand that grazed Parker’s chin.
Parker then landed a couple of rasping uppercuts but Chisora’s famously granite whiskers absorbed them almost gratefully.
But the follow-up barrage damaged Chisora badly with big right straights and left hooks crunching into the banger who seemed to be flagging earlier than usual.
Chisora was stunned in the third by a pinpoint left-hook-right-hand piledriver and defied gravity to remain upright, the iron-skulled slugger showed super-human resilience to survive.
Parker looked to be playing into Chisora’s hands in the fourth, when he was trading up close, but then he detonated a sensational uppercut that savaged Chisora’s senses.
Only the ropes held Chisora up but referee Howard Foster dived in to start a count that reached eight.
In a moment of cool-headed genius, Chisora retreated to a corner and lured Parker in where he did not have the room to secure a finish, instead it was the Finchley warrior who ended the stanza hurling leather.
But just as Chisora was enjoying a string of scoring jabs he sunk into another thudding uppercut and was folded into the canvas for another eight count.
Chisora incredibly rose and rallied again and unfathomably ended the round battering Parker in a show of courage that had Manchester mystified.
Both behemoths were blowing hard by the eighth but with 30 seconds left Chisora dipped into a third massive uppercut and collapsed backwards into the ropes for a second standing count.
It looked desperate for Chisora in the ninth, with referee Howard Foster teetering on the edge of the exchanges and ready to dive in. But Chisora went back to the well and threw haymakers to stay in the contest.
But Chisora was almost floored by his own punch moments later when he missed so wildly, and with such desperation that he stumbled into the ropes again.
And former WBO world champion Parker and evergreen warhorse Del Boy made it to the final bell where they got a deserved ovation.
After the fight, Parker said: “He was one tough guy!
“He never stopped coming but we had practised the jab and uppercut so now we have a great Christmas.
