TYSON FURY’S trainer SugarHill Steward has been awarded the WBC Trainer’s belt.Steward, 47, has worked with the Gypsy King since 2019 and helped him win each of his last three fights.

In doing so Fury became WBC world champion and the organisation has now bestowed a similar honour to Steward.
The WBC awards a belt to every trainer who has helped a fighter to world champion status.
Steward was seen with his green belt in the ring at Wembley after the fight, with it draped across his shoulder.
The belt is inspired by the towel trainers wear during fights and even has a cutout so it fits snuggly around the neck.

Steward was full of pride after Fury knocked out Dillian Whyte in the sixth round and he too was shirtless after the bout.
Fury came to Steward due to Kronk gym’s reputation of creating knock-out artists – the Brit has since won three out of three fights via knockout or technical knockout.
The latest was arguably the best of all as Fury landed the perfect uppercut to send Whyte flying – even knocking out the tooth of the Bodysnatcher.
But Steward may now be on the search for a new prizefighter after Fury reinforced his intention to quit the sport after his win.

After defending his world heavyweight crown Fury paid tribute to Steward, saying: “I also want to say, this man here, Sugarhill Steward, he made a great fighter.
“Years ago, used to jib and jab, touch and slide, but you’ve seen me here tonight.

During the raucous celebrations, the Gypsy King had a brief FaceTime with Whyte’s promoter Eddie Hearn.
And Hearn has since revealed Fury also tried to get a hold of former unified heavyweight champ Joshua.
During an appearance on the DAZN Boxing Show, he said: “He FaceTimed me non-stop but I couldn’t really hear him because he was drinking and I was in a restaurant
“I just said well done, I think he was trying to call AJ and he was asking me for his number.

“Tyson will call me randomly on the phone and he will be like, ‘Have a little laugh and I will have a little laugh’.
“Then I will say I’m going to knock you out, then he will say ‘shut up I’ll knock you out.”

Fury’s future in the sport is currently up in the air as he teased retirement just moments after his sixth-round stoppage of Whyte.

Queensberry Promotions chief Warren believes Fury’s upset victory over Wladimir Klitschko in Germany in 2015 is a testament to the WBC heavyweight champ being the better fighter.

“He was the best heavyweight of his generation and when you look at how Tyson fought him, he never got a look-in, Klitschko.”
The veteran promoter is adamant Klitschko would’ve got the better of AJ in their 2017 dust-up if he was a few years younger, saying: “If he’d had the legs that he had maybe when he fighting Tyson, he might’ve finished the fight when he put him down.
“But he got up, credit to Anthony Joshua, he got up from the canvas and took the fight back to him.
“But I think he could’ve stopped him. An old Klitschko would’ve stopped him.
“But anyway, you can’t take it away from Joshua. He won the fight.”

The undefeated Fury, in Warren’s opinion, also faced a significantly better Whyte than the one Joshua flattened in 2015.
