Tyson Fury in another retirement U-turn as Brit legend ‘walks away’ from boxing despite announcing return TWO DAYS ago

TYSON FURY has once again retired from boxing – just days after announcing plans to return to the ring. The Gypsy King ended his short-lived retirement – which he announced after knocking out Dillian Whyte last April – earlier this week to pursue a shock trilogy fight with Derek Chisora.

But the WBC heavyweight champion has opted against returning to the ring.
The 34-year-old tweeted: “Massive thanks to everyone who had an input in my career over the years.
“And after long, hard conversations, I’ve finally decided to walk away and on my 34th birthday.
    “I say Bon Voyage.”

After paying tribute to those who have helped him throughout his career, favourite Fury then paid tribute to dotting wife Paris.
He added: “Shoutout to Paris Fury, who helped me more tha anyone.
“And most of all, thank you, God. See you all on the otherside, you big dossers. 2008-2022.”
Fury’s second retirement U-turn came a mere TWO DAYS after he claimed pal and training Issac Lowe would coach him for a third fight with Chisora.

He said: “I’ve decided to come back to boxing because I can be the first heavyweight champion in history to have two trilogies.
“One with Deontay Wilder and a second one with Derek Chisora. I always said I’d fight Derek Chisora at the end of my career.
“And here we are, breaking all records again, setting precedents.”
Fury’s plans to stay retire could very well have stuck the final nail in the coffin of a blockbuster Battle of Britain with Anthony Joshua.

The Wythenshawe warrior said last month: “It’s all about money, Mr Businessman – he’s not a fighting man.
“I swear to God I hope he wins the fight against [Oleksandr] Usyk so that I can come out of retirement and fight him for free.
“However, the terms are this – I want it at Wembley stadium, I want it free to enter and I want it on free-to-air in television in this country.
“I’ll fight him in England, not abroad in a foreign country for more money, here for free for the people.”

If Fury is indeed retired, he’ll walk away from the sport on the back of a brutal sixth-round KO victory over Whyte at Wembley.
Victory over his former sparring partner was the Brit’s second defence of the prestigious WBC heavyweight title and stretched his record to a near-perfect 32-0-1.

But in recent training material, ahead of their second fight on August 20 in Saudi Arabia, Usyk appears to have bulked up.
The pound-for-pound star has situated himself in Dubai ahead of the title fight just 800 miles away.
And there, he bumped into British former world champion Khan, who has now opened up on what they spoke about.
Khan told Seconds Out: “He looks a lot bigger, I mean he was telling me that he’s put on an extra 15 kilos since he last fought AJ.

“So, we’re going to see how much strength he’s going to be having.
“He looks like a full-on natural heavyweight. He is big and looks very strong.”
That would mean Usyk, 35, has gone up to almost 18 STONE, if the 15kg (2st 3lb) weight gain is correct.
In comparison, Joshua, 32, scaled only 17st 2lb before losing his WBA, IBF and WBO belts last year.

Khan, 35, added: “He nowhere near looked like a cruiserweight he looked like a nice full blown-up heavyweight.
“He was strong at the weight, when he was hitting the pads and stuff and you can see the definition on his body.
“He’s very thick and you can see it’s solid muscle that he’s got.”

Wilder was considering hanging up his gloves after defeat to Fury again last year but has announced he will be returning to the ring.
He made the admission when unveiling a statue of himself in his hometown of Tuscaloosa back in May.
And stunning fiancee Telli was on hand at the unveiling to support her man.
She uploaded a snap of the pair next to the near 7ft monument, which is cast in bronze in honor of Wilder’s ‘Bronze Bomber’ nickname.
Writing on Instagram, Telli said: “To say I’m proud doesn’t justify the amount of hard work, dedication, sacrifice, blood, sweat, and tears you’ve put into this sport, your career, and what you’ve built and continue to build for the kids and myself.
“This is legendary, for not just our family, their families, and the many generations to come, but for the culture, for the community, and for the people.
“You’ve given the state of Alabama and the city of Tuscaloosa a monumental statue to forever witness and ‘as long as you give God the glory, he will give you the victory!’
“You got you a statue baby & you still here!! I’m so happy you continue to get all your blessings and flowers!! You deserve it!! We love you!! BOXING IS YOURS to TAKE!!”

Telli is the star of TV show WAGS Atlanta and has one daughter with the former heavyweight king.
She caught the world’s attention last October as Wilder was beaten once again by the Gypsy King.
Telli was captured in tears ringside – but struck a far happier figure as she and her hubby celebrated his return to boxing.
Wilder revealed: “I can’t stop right here. I must continue my journey. I have to, I have to.
“I’m looking to resume my career for sure. I’ve got a lot of other things I’ve got to get out of the way.
“I’m taking away from my children if I come back, because now I’m able to enjoy my life fully like I want to.
“I sacrificed so much to be in this position in my life, to be able to life my life like I want for the rest of my life.”

Deontay Wilder has been ‘missed’ in heavyweight division as ex-champion David Haye hails American’s boxing return

DAVID HAYE has hailed Deontay Wilder’s impending return to boxing after the heavyweight division “missed” the American. Wilder’s future in the ring was left up in the air following defeat in his epic trilogy bout against Tyson Fury in October.
Deontay Wilder is set to make his boxing return
But as revealed by SunSport, the former WBC champion is closing in on securing his comeback fight.
Haye, who is an ex-sparring partner of Wilder’s, believes it is just what the blue ribband division needs.
He told Fight Hub TV: “We need big characters, big punchers, big personalities – that’s what heavyweight boxing needs.
“It’s missed him since he’s been gone. There are so many of these young fighters coming through.

“Joyce, Dubois, Hrgovic – so many names that are around the world level. Let’s mix it up. Let’s get it busy.”
Wilder, 36, is set to face Robert Helenius, 38, on October 15 in New York.
The Bronze Bomber has suffered consecutive stoppage defeats to Fury, 33, which followed after their 2018 draw.
Wilder floored Fury twice on that occasion before scoring two knockdowns in their recent trilogy.

And Haye, 41, is convinced his former training partner is the only man capable of beating Fury.
He said: “I just rewatched the three fights with the number one heavyweight on the planet, Tyson Fury.
“He probably is the closest guy to beating him. He nearly knocked him out on a couple of occasions, he had him heavily hurt.”

Tyson Fury flies to Iceland with dad John to call out Game of Thrones star Thor Bjornsson – before going AXE THROWING

TYSON FURY flew to Iceland with his dad John to confront Hafthor Bjornsson – but ended up AXE THROWING instead. Fury filmed himself arriving at Keflavik Airport with John and business partner Spencer Brown.

And their mission was to “find” Game of Thrones star Bjornsson following talk of an exhibition bout.
But the former world’s strongest man was instead in Rome filming a movie, so Fury had to find other ways to entertain himself.
That included buying Vikings hats, heading to the pub and going axe throwing.
After Bjornsson caught wind of Fury’s trip to his homeland, he demanded a fight contract be sent his way.

He said: “I’m currently in Rome filming a movie, loving life and guess what?
“Tyson Fury’s in Iceland, he tried to find me, couldn’t find me because obviously I’m not there.
“But Tyson, if your team is serious, if you’re serious about fighting me, have your team send me a contract, lets get serious and I’ll find you.

Bjornsson, 33, recently beat strongman rival Eddie Hall, 34, in their gigantic grudge match in March but he has not returned since.
Fury, 33, meanwhile retired from boxing a month later knocking out Dillian Whyte, 34, at Wembley.
But it appears his hiatus was short-lived after claiming he was coming back to face Derek Chisora, 38, in an unlikely trilogy bout.
The fight was first eyed for December but shortly after, Fury appeared to suggest his rematch with Chisora was already off.

He said: “Do you know the funny this is – people love to do deals and then ask for more or change the goalposts.
“But the usual thing for me is then I tell them to go get f****d. So there we are.”
It would free up Fury to fight Bjornsson in a extraordinary exhibition.
With the Gypsy King still keeping hold of his WBC title, an undisputed decider remains on the cards.

But he first has to wait for Oleksandr Usyk, 35, to rematch Anthony Joshua, 32, next Saturday, following the Ukrainian’s win last September.
Fury would then be in line to challenge the winner in what would be a first-ever heavyweight unification in the modern four-belt era.

Event organisers predict that Joshua vs Usyk 2 will commence at around 12:54am local time.
With Saudi Arabia two hours ahead of the UK, that means that, by the time the ring walks are concluded, action should be beginning at around 11pm for British fight fans.

His bout with Usyk will be just one of a number of events for fight fans to feast their eyes upon that night.
