Joshua is prepared to take on Fury but there are still contracts to be signed despite agreeing on the date, venue and the purse.
And matchmaker Bob Arum believes that is because AJ’s promoter Hearn does not want him to face Fury.
He told BoxingScene: “We don’t think that Hearn wants to make that fight. We really don’t think he wants to make that fight.
“We’re giving him every opportunity to make that fight. And if we can’t make it very shortly, Fury will fight somebody else.

“We have another opponent lined up.”
Joshua’s trainer Robert Garcia is also not keen on the fighter facing Fury so soon after his defeats to Oleksandr Usyk.
Garcia wanted Joshua “step down a level” and have two or three fights before clashing with the Gypsy King, while also requesting to let him train AJ in the US.
If the proposed Joshua fight breaks down Fury could turn to Usyk after claiming he would “smash” the Ukrainian in four rounds.

But a deal was never agreed with Usyk pinning the blame on Fury despite refusing to fight in December as he wanted to spend time with his family while recovering from his previous fight.
Deontay Wilder also wants to face Fury for a fourth time and claims it is inevitable that they will meet in the ring once again. More

Presley travelled from Burnley to Morecambe to meet his hero. He said: “The reason he inspires me is that he was struggling, he had mental health problems.

It remains to be seen whether Paul will make a hat-trick of attempts to get the 2019 Love Island star into the ring.
But the American warned Fury dodged a bullet and would be better off trading insults opposed to punches.
Paul said: “Look, it will be the last payday of his life, from boxing at least.
“He would quit boxing after that or at least he should. I’m going to turn him into a meme if we ever fight, literally a crazy meme.

“Like this guy is not going to be able to walk outside anymore. So, it’s actually probably smarter for him not to fight me.”
Paul, 25, was 4-0 when he first agreed to face Fury, 23, in December.

He had beat YouTuber “AnEsonGib”, ex-NBA player Nate Robinson, 38, as well as former UFC pair Ben Askren, 38, and Tyron Woodley, 40.
But Fury pulled out with a broken rib suffered in training and Paul went on to knock out ex-UFC champion Woodley in a rematch.

The pair again tried in August but a US visa issue saw the brother of heavyweight king Tyson, 33, withdraw again.
Heavyweight Hasim Rahman Jr, 31, was drafted in as a replacement but a weight disagreement saw Paul scrap the fight.
The social media sensation-turned boxer instead returns on October 29 against UFC legend Anderson Silva, 47, who holds a 4-1 boxing record.
Due to being in training camp, Paul will not be in Manchester, where his boxer Amanda Serrano, 33, faces Sarah Mahfoud, 32.
Meanwhile, Fury is yet to fight since beating Daniel Bocianski, 27, on points in April.
Paul said: “At the end of the day, he’s ducking me so I don’t know what this guy’s angle is.
“I think he wants to just gain popularity and fight scrubs, because he knows he can make like £100,000 every time he fights against these scrubs.
“So if he gains more popularity, the longer that gig can last for him.”

Jake Paul predicts winner of Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua – and fears his ‘inspiration’ will lose

It is a fight hailed by YouTube-turned boxer Paul but one he cannot see going Joshua’s way, no matter how much he admires the heavyweight.
He told talkSPORT: “I gotta go with Tyson Fury man.
“I really like Anthony Joshua. He’s a dope guy, he inspires me, but Tyson’s just not beatable man, unfortunately.
“He’s too big and has too much skill. He’s 270lbs, 280lbs sometimes, bouncing up and down in the ring like Muhammad Ali, has an amazing chin that withstood dozens of punches from Deontay Wilder – the hardest puncher in heavyweight history.

“So, he’s just not beatable I don’t think.”
Joshua, 32, is coming off consecutive points losses to Oleksandr Usyk, 35, most recently in Saudi Arabia last month.
But Usyk ruled himself out of a unification bout this year after returning home to war-torn Ukraine for the first time.
It left Fury, 34, to surprisingly turn his attention to AJ and talks over Battle of Britain escalated quickly.

Joshua accepted the terms and was sent a contract by Frank Warren.
And Paul, 25, believes the fight can help the sport gain supremacy over their combat sports rivals.
He said: “That’s a huge fight.
“I think it’s a fight that needs to happen for the sport of boxing to continue to grow and make waves and continue to take over MMA, which is failing recently, specifically the UFC.
“I think that fight needs to happen so that boxing is number one in combat sports.”
Paul, 25, returns himself on October 29 against UFC legend Anderson Silva, 47, his first opponent with a prior boxing record.

He moves on to pad work with John Fury and a speed ball workout, followed by deadlifts, shadow boxing and pull-ups.
And many would argue some of what Parker posted in his YouTube video is not ideal, or at least a risky, preparation.
Parker faces Joyce in Manchester, coming off back-to-back wins against Brit Derek Chisora.
Parker is seen lying down in the ring beside Tyson, who shouts encouragement while dad John shows no mercy, beating Parker’s torso all over with a medicine ball.
