Stunning ring girl ‘fell asleep’ in Tyson Fury’s last fight against Derek Chisora as pair prepare for trilogy

TYSON FURY’S last fight with Derek Chisora caused a ring girl to fall asleep ringside. The Gypsy King takes on Del Boy for a third time tonight, although the trilogy bout has failed to capture the imagination of some fans.

Punters flocking to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this evening will be hoping for a more exciting night of action than what was on offer when the pair fought eight years ago.
Fury, 34, had handed Chisora the first defeat of his career when they met in 2011.
Following further losses to Robert Helenius, Vitali Klitschko and David Haye – Del Boy was able to rebuild by stringing together five victories on the bounce.
This earned him a second shot at Fury in November 2014 – but it would end in the same outcome.

The duo didn’t take to the ring until after midnight at an emptying ExCel Arena in London.
And such was the dullness of the action on offer, that a pair of ring girls struggled to even stay awake.
A picture snapped by boxing reporter Gareth A Davies showed the glamorous Stephanie Holland sleeping with her head on an unimpressed-looking Sophie Rose’s shoulder.
Fury picked Chisora apart on the night, before the fight was eventually stopped in the tenth round, likely to the relief of the ring girls.

The Gypsy King is aiming to dispatch Del Boy in exciting style tonight… before partying with England fans.
On a visit to Sun HQ, he said: “I’m looking forward to putting on a show. I’m feeling fantastic. I always win and so will England.”
Fury added that he’ll “get messy again” in Qatar when, rather than if, Gareth Southgate’s team beat Senegal in tomorrow’s last-16 clash – and that the booze ban won’t get in his way.
He said: “I’ll put it up my top. Who’s going to stop me?
“I’m not an alcoholic, I’m just a devil for the drink.”
He is planning a “wild lads’ holiday” at the football without wife Paris, 32, or their six children.

The Gypsy King has beaten Del Boy twice before and has still yet to be beaten in his professional career.
Ahead of the tasty all-British bout, he sat down with SunSport’s Isabelle Barker to answer the questions every fan wants to know the answers to.
    Tyson Fury Q&A
    Favourite post-fight cheat meal?
Fish fingers, chips and beans. Very simple, I’ve even ordered it in five-star restaurants.

If you could time travel where would you go?
This is a very complex topic. I used to always be obsessed with time. I always thought whoever controlled the element of time could control the world.
When asked what superpower I wanted as a kid I always said I’d want the ability to control time. However I’ve learnt to be very comfortable living in today’s world.
I wouldn’t want to go back or forward. I’m very happy living as who I am today. So I’d stay put.

My dad says I’m just like Frankenstein’s monster… I come alive in the big fights, says Tyson Fury before Chisora clash

TYSON FURY will not look back and reflect at his bulldozing ride through the heavyweight division until he is a “fat, bald-headed b******”.Almost exactly seven years ago he drove over to Germany to dethrone decade-long champ Wladimir Klitschko of his WBA, IBF and WBO titles, in his adopted backyard.

In 2018, after a doping-ban hiatus where he battled mental health problems, obesity and drug addiction, he flew to America with minimal preparation and was cruelly handed a Deontay Wilder draw, instead of the WBC crown he deserved.
Since then he has obliterated the Bronze Bomber twice to grab the green and gold belt and KO’d Dillian Whyte in front of a record 94,000 fans at Wembley stadium.
Right now it is all in a day’s work for the 34-year-old Gypsy King but, long after tonight’s Derek Chisora defence, he may reminisce on the era he wreaked havoc on, inside and outside the ring.
Fury said: “I don’t reflect, zero reflection. When you’re in the driving seat, you don’t look at who’s behind you, you just keep going forward, flat out at a frantic pace.

“Reflection time will come when it’s all done and then in 20 years’ time, I’ll go ‘wow, I was a champion, now look at me, I’m a fat bald-headed b******’.
“I have taken this career seriously from the age of 29. Before that it was a joke. It was just a play thing, it was something I was just good at, something I didn’t train for.
“I’d just turn up at 25 stone, go and lose five stone and go and beat Klitschko.
“When I boxed Wladimir seven years ago I came into camp just under 25 stone and got down to 18 stone in eight weeks. I’m not lying.

“Me and my brother Shane were out drinking vodka and going round a field in a four-wheel drive eight weeks before that fight.
“Then I lost weight and gave him a boxing lesson. It’s something I’ve always been able to do.
“Now as a man, a very experienced man at 34, I have to be smarter. I’m not the same Tyson Fury.”
Fury remains a contradiction, this year alone he has released his third autobiography, sung on another record and starred in a Netflix reality TV show about his family.
But he bemoans the fact his incredible boxing success and showmanship have cost him his privacy.
Two hands are needed to count his retirement announcements now — the most recent after his April Whyte win — and he has vowed to have three serious fights in 2023 as well as 12 glorified spars around the world against “bums of the month”.
Even his dad and former fighter John has noticed his boy seems addicted to the buzz of fame and notoriety.
Tyson said: “Being a warrior is very difficult. It is unlike any other life. To be a businessman or anything else is very different to being a frontline battleman.

“My dad made a good comment when he said I have become like Frankenstein’s monster because I can only really come alive with the electricity of a major event.
“When I am not doing that I am like a zombie, a dead man walking and it is very difficult to shift.
“I was filming a Netflix documentary, writing my third book and releasing a single, I had a lot going on but when I retired it hit me that it was over and for a week I was very low, suicidal. I knew I had to come back.
“As long as I have the focus of being a fighter and a champion I will be OK.”
A third win over Chisora, 38, this weekend, in front of ringside WBA, IBF and WBO champ Oleksandr Usyk, who has flown in from Ukraine, will set-up a spring undisputed showdown between the pair.
Usyk, 35, was the London 2012 Olympic heavyweight champion and the undisputed cruiserweight king before stepping up to stun Anthony Joshua twice.
But Fury dismisses all of his achievements and insists he is boxing’s supreme ruler with more belts and box-office events than Usyk has underwear.
The Gypsy King added: “Every heavyweight wants what I have and he’s the same. He’s had 20 fights, I have had a lot more.
“I have more knockout wins than him, I have won more belts than he has pants in his cupboard.

Fury is the overwhelming favourite to leave North London victorious and has vowed to fly to Qatar to drink with the England fans at the World Cup immediately after his win.
And when SunSport exclusively sat down with the undefeated Gypsy King, he confirmed keeper Jordan Pickford is the one member of the Three Lions squad he would want to have a pint with.
When the question was posed to the British boxer, he replied: “Jordan Pickford. He seems like a laugh to go on a drink with.”
Fury has claimed he’ll “get messy again” in Qatar when rather than if Gareth Southgate’s team beat Senegal in Sunday’s last-16 clash.

Fury plans a “wild lads’ holiday” at the football without wife Paris, 32, or their six children.
The Morecambe-born fighter, who bought £1,000-a-time rounds for England fans at Euro 2016 in France, vowed: “I’m 100 per cent going to get messy with the fans. I’m known for that.

The Gypsy King hasn’t fought since his sixth-round TKO destruction of Dillian Whyte back in April at a sold out Wembley Stadium.
And as Fury makes his comeback on the big screen, he has revealed he doesn’t just love to smash opposition fighters.
In an interview with BT Sport Boxing, Fury said: “It’s going to be a good fight.
“When Muhammad Ali was out of boxing, Joe Frazier was giving him money and them two at one stage were the best of pals, giving each other money and everything.

“So, you can imagine what I’ll do with Derek Chisora when he annoys me and we’re fighting for real.”

The fight is set to take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
The Morecombe-based Brit legend will defend his WBC heavyweight crown against Chisora.
Del Boy has clashed with Fury twice before, though, losing the first on points before being stopped in their 2014 sequel.
He added: “For this, we wanna give you the best first round in the heavyweight game forever.
“This will be, for my point, the opening bell to this fight is gonna be electric.
“So you’re not gonna be sitting down, you’ll be standing up.
“I believe if he gets his balls back from his wife’s handbag, that’ll be fine, so we can get the fight on from the first round.
“We need the first round to be electric so the place can be buzzing, so people can talk about it.
“So I’m prepared to do it, I don’t know if he is, but I know Tyson is a man of his word, we shook on it, so we’re gonna go for it. I’m buzzing.”
