Fury roared: “Why don’t us three do a Royal Rumble then? Come on!”
Joyce appeared keen on that idea while Usyk remained silent during their intense confrontation.
A Royal Rumble Match, though, requires at least 30 competitors and can only be won if a wrestler is the last person standing after the other 29 opponents have been thrown over the ring’s top rope.
In fact, WWE will host their legendary Royal Rumble event on January 28, 2023 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Derek Chisora thanks referee for ending brutal Tyson Fury fight as fans slam Del Boy’s team for not throwing in towel

DEREK CHISORA thanked the referee for ending his fight with Tyson Fury – as boxing fans raged at Del Boy’s team for not throwing in the towel. Ref Victor Loughlin brought the contest to an end in the 10th round as the Gypsy King continued to dominate.
It was a bruising contest for Chisora who was overpowered by FuryCredit: Reuters
It was always going to be a difficult evening for underdog Chisora who struggled to deal with Fury’s power and brute force.
But his team showed no sign of throwing in the towel like they did in the second fight between the pair in 2014.
Eventually Loughlin chose himself to end the fight himself in the 10th round and give victory to Fury after Chisora’s corner refused to give up.
After the fight Chisora thanked the ref for ending the fight when he did.

He said: “The ref said, ‘If you don’t do anything else I’m gonna stop it.’ And the ref was right. You have to go home to your kids. As fighters, you don’t wanna stop. That’s why the ref’s there.”
Fans were not happy with trainer Don Charles and the rest of Del Boy’s team for not throwing in the towel themselves.
One said on Twitter: “Don Charles is an idiot, leaving the referee to do that. He shouldn’t have even been in the ring with Fury but after 5/6 rounds his corner has to save him there.”
Another said: “Don Charles has been awful tonight. He should have pulled Chisora out of the fight a few rounds earlier, instead of leaving it to the referee.”

And another fan wrote: “Don Charles failed his fighter there. Sorry have to say. Credit to Victor Loughlin there, a man with compassion. The best ref in the business.”
Despite the controversy, there were no hard feelings after the bout with Chisora and Fury sharing food and meeting each other’s children.
Fury also revealed that he may need work done on his right elbow before a potential 2023 undisputed heavyweight clash with Oleksandr Usyk.
The Ukrainian left fans amused by taking a phone call as he clashed with Fury outside of the ring. More

How lucky Dubois was saved from little-known rule that would have seen him LOSE to Kevin Lerena

DANIEL DUBOIS was saved from a little-known rule that would have seen him LOSE to Kevin Lerena. The 25-year-old Brit was floored THREE times in the first round at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The North London crowd thought it was about to witness a major heavyweight upset on the undercard of Tyson Fury’s trilogy with Derek Chisora as the WBA regular champion dragged himself back to his corner after a nightmare opening three minutes.
Somehow he managed to recoup in the second round as Lerena’s momentum slowed.
And in the third Dubois then completed the turnaround as he dropped South African twice before referee Howard Foster waved it off.
But fans were up in arms about the outcome because of the WBA’s clear rule on someone being knocked down three times in a round.
    READ MORE IN BOXING
Their rulebook clearly states: “It is critical to note that in bouts governed by the WBA rules three (3) knockdowns in the same round automatically end the bout by TKO.”
However, Dubois escaped because the British Boxing Board of Control – who sanctioned the fight – does not acknowledge the three-knockdown rule for bouts in Britain, so the fight was allowed to continue.
SunSport has contacted the BBBoC for comment.

Fans were also left furious for another reason, though, after the first round came to an end 12 seconds early.

Dubois was on his knees and looked to have injured his ankle before referee Foster signalled the end of the round earlier than he should have.
It was a bizarre sequence of events which led to Dubois retaining his WBA crown.
He now has a professional record of 19 wins and one defeat – with his only loss coming to Joe Joyce in November 2020.
Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk was in attendance for Dubois’ win over Lerena.
And Dubois may be a future opponent for Usyk if the undisputed clash with Fury does not get made – especially with the Gypsy King potentially requiring elbow surgery after beating Chisora.
As the regular champion, Dubois is in line for a shot at Usyk’s WBA super title. More

It means Fury has continued his unbeaten professional record as he continues on his path towards an undisputed heavyweight clash with Oleksandr Usyk, who was watching on last night.
Despite the hard-fought encounter, there were clearly no hard feelings after the fight.
Fury joined ‘War’ after the battle and the two exchanged warm words and jokes.
Fury was joined by his eldest son, 11-year-old Prince John James, who shook Chisora’s hand after watching his dad fight in person for the first time.

Del Boy’s daughters, Angelina and Harare, both then met Fury.
Fury teased Angelina as he said “I’ve seen you on his Instagram” before sharing a hug with the younger Harare, quipping that the “pretty” girl “takes after her mum.”
The heartwarming exchange was then interrupted as burgers from fast food chain Five Guys arrived.
The two boxers continued their chat and at one stage clinked burgers as they gobbled down the meal.

Rooney, 37, was ringside to watch Fury stop Derek Chisora in the tenth round at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last night.
His heavy hits proved too much for the Londoner to handle and the referee waved it off to stop the damage.
Keen boxer Rooney, who was knocked out in his kitchen by Phil Bardlsey, was impressed by what he saw and made the glowing recommendation.
He scored a record 253 goals during 13 successful seasons at Manchester United – the team Fury loves.

But the roles were reversed as Rooney threw his support behind the 6ft 9in Gypsy King.
The DC United manager told talkSPORT: “He’s the best we’ve seen for a long time.

“His skills are incredible. His mentality is incredible.

“Because he hasn’t been afraid to go abroad.
“He’s won titles abroad. Defended them abroad.
“He epitomizes everything that boxing is.”
Fury, 34, took his pro boxing record to 33-0-1 on Saturday night as he comfortably saw off Chisora to retain his WBC world heavyweight title.
As expected, it was a completely one-sided contest as the Morecambe giant toyed with his Zimbabwe-born rival before it was eventually and relatedly stopped.
Now the focus is on the unification bout with the WBA, WBO and IBF champ Usyk, who beat Anthony Joshua twice.

And Fury wasted no time in calling out Usyk in the ring – before Rooney’s vote of confidence that he will never lose.

“Usyk you’re next you little b****. You are next. Me and you next. You’re next. Rabbit! P****!
