John told FreeBets.com: “What it was, I said let’s move on from it because I believed it was a 50-50 thing with a fair split.
“But Tommy said to me, ‘Dad I want to fight this man, it is not about the money I have had enough of him. As long as they pay me somewhere near what is acceptable, let’s get this deal done’.

It means both will have to accept pay cuts while Usyk, 36, faces conceding the lion’s share and home advanatage.
Although ever the superstar, Fury, 34, is not exactly in shortage of potential backup options and here SunSport runs down the best of the bunch.

Promoter Frank Warren remains hopeful the Usyk fight will be agreed but confirmed Ngannou is an alternative.
He told SecondsOut: “That’s an option that Tyson’s mentioned to me if this fight falls through. But, I don’t think it will fall through.”

But if talks with Usyk hit a dead end, Joyce could be eyed as the backup alternative for Fury’s stadium return.
Joyce first returns on April 15 against Zhilei Zhang, 39, but would be ready to challenge for the title in the summer.

Paul instead went onto beat UFC legend Anderson Silva, 47, in October, his biggest win to date.
The YouTuber-turned boxer was rewarded a made up WBC “amateur” belt for his white collar win over KSI’s brother Deji in 2018.
And he has maintained a good relationship ever since with WBC boss Sulaiman.
He said: “Jake Paul has been close to The WBC for several years, starting with the first event promoted in the UK when his brother, Logan, fought KSI; On that night Jake won The WBC amateur belt in the undercard fights.
“Jake has dedication and respect to the sport and The WBC will not tolerate discrimination against anyone, he deserves the opportunities that any other boxer has.

🥊 How to watch Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury: Date, UK start time, live stream, TV channel

“His whole persona, the way he deals with things, the way he tries to negotiate is all a circus act, to be honest.
“I’m glad we got everything over the line. I’ve got a great team behind me – I believe more of a professional team – and I believe that’s why we got it over the line.
“I think Jake’s already intimidated/ Every bit of news I see on him, he’s very white, he’s very pale in the face, he looks like he’s been struggling for sleep.
“He doesn’t look confident to me. I’ve been in this game a long time, my whole family have, and we know the signs when we see them. I’ll leave Jake to have the sleepless nights.
“This fight will not go to points. There’s no way Jake Paul will hear the final bell. It could be done in one round.
“Whenever I connect cleanly, whether it’s to body or head, he will go, and he won’t recover. I’m very confident of that.
“One shot is all it will take, and all it ever takes, especially with the likes of this guy, who’s never been hit right in his career.
“Jake Paul’s never been hit, so what happens when he sees a blue flash? When his legs go heavy?
“You can only get used to those pressure situations through being in them. At the end of the day, he’s a guy who has no idea what’s coming to him.” More

Anthony Joshua will face Tyson Fury this summer with blockbuster fight back ON if Oleksandr Usyk bout collapses

ANTHONY JOSHUA is ready for a Tyson Fury super-fight in the summer if talks to unify the division collapse. Fury and Usyk are closing in on a deal for the heavyweight division’s first ever four-belt undisputed title decider.

The historic unification now looks set to land at Wembley instead of Saudi Arabia.
But a UK bout will mean the pound-for-pound stars taking a pay cut due to the inflated sums on offer in the Middle East.
Promoter Eddie Hearn remains sceptical on whether terms can be agreed between Fury, 34, and Usyk, 36.
And he claimed Joshua, 33, will be ready to capitalise if he beats Jermaine Franklin, 29, in his April 1 return.

Hearn told iFL TV: “I don’t know what’s gonna happen with this Usyk thing. He may fight Fury next.
“We’d be open to that fight. If Usyk doesn’t fight Fury, AJ will fight Fury next, in the summer if he gets through Franklin.
“How about that? Stick that in your pipe and smoke it. He will.”
Joshua has lost twice to Usyk on the spin, surrendering the WBA, IBF and WBO belts.

But he returns in a bid to boost his confidence against Franklin, the American beaten by Dillian Whyte, 34, in November.
Meanwhile, April 29 in London is the target date for Fury to unify the belts against Usyk.
But Hearn warned not to rule out AJ finally fighting his great rival, believing it is bigger than the undisputed bout.
Hearn added: “I have no idea whether Fury-Usyk is going to happen or not. I can give you my opinion.
“But I’m telling you, if that fight doesn’t happen, we will take the Fury fight.
“He will take that fight, he will take the [Deontay] Wilder fight, he’ll take them all.
“But don’t be surprised to see that fight in the summer if the other one doesn’t happen because that’s much bigger than the Usyk fight. Much bigger.
“So, just something I’ve been thinking about lately. Might be a little tinkle to George Warren. But we’ll see.”
