PSG star Marquinho’s glamorous wife has confirmed his parents are OK after a break-in at their Paris home.

French newspaper L’Equipe said Marqinhos’ dad was hit several times in the face and chest by the intruders, said to have confused the property with the footballer’s.
Cabrino, who got her break appearing on a reality TV show in their native Brazil, posted a statement on her Instagram confirming the break-in which said: “The house of Marquinhos’ parents was burgled while his family was inside.
“But no-one suffered and everyone is okay and recovering from the shock.”
The statement, from a spokesman for Marquinhos, added: “The French authorities have opened an inquiry.”

Team-mate Angel Di Maria’s home was also targeted during the match.
The Argentine was substituted in the 62nd minute and escorted down the tunnel by boss Mauricio Pochettino before being informed about what happened and leaving in tears.
Initial reports pointed to members of his family being kidnapped, although it later emerged his wife and two daughters had been upstairs when the break-in occurred and only found out about it afterwards.
The thieves reportedly took jewellery from a safe worth around £430,000.

L’Equipe reported on Monday that PSG will fund 24-hour security for its stars in wake of the spate of robberies.
Many of the players have video surveillance but security guards will be hired to help afford the footballers and their families more protection.

Marquinhos, full name Marcos Aoas Correa, moved to PSG from Roma in July 2013.
He has won 47 caps for Brazil and made six further appearances on his way to a gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games at home in Rio de Janeiro.
Carol went into labour with their daughter Maria Eduarda in November 2017 while watching her husband play a Champions League match against Anderlecht at the Parc des Princes.

ANGEL DI MARIA left PSG’s stadium in tears after he was substituted by Mauricio Pochettino following news of a violent robbery at his home.
The Argentine was hooked in the 62nd minute of the game against Nantes on Sunday after reports of a serious break-in.

Initial reports pointed to members of his family being held hostage, although it later emerged Di Maria’s wife and two daughters had been upstairs when the break-in occurred and only found out about it afterwards.
Sporting director Leonardo was caught on TV taking a phone call in the second-half before shouting down to Poch, who brought on Leandro Paredes for Di Maria.
The former Spurs boss then informed his compatriot of the shocking developments as he walked him down the tunnel and RMC reports Di Maria was tearful as he immediately left the Parc des Princes.
The French outlet suggests the incident turned ‘extremely violent’.

Marca later confirmed the family were unharmed but were held captive in a terrifying ordeal.
Ex-Manchester United ace Di Maria, 33, is married to Jorgelina and the couple have two young girls.
PSG lost the game 2-1 but the result – which keeps them three points behind Ligue 1 leaders Lille – was completely overshadowed by the off-field horrors.
After the game, Pochettino said: “There is the disappointment of having lost three points, but the group was concerned about things that you are probably already aware of.

“Situations outside of football exist and can explain the second half.
“It is not an excuse, but it prompted a drop in energy levels. At half-time, we were talking about things other than football.”

Another violent burglary was also reported on Sunday with Di Maria’s team-mate Marquinhos’ parents the victims.
Unlike the ex-Benfica man, the Brazilian defender played the full game.
Di Maria has previously suffered at the hands of thieves after three armed thugs tried to smash their way into his Chesire mansion when he was at United.
He is believed to have been eating with his wife and daughter at the time of the frightening intrusion.

Di Maria and Marquinhos are the latest PSG stars to be targeted after Mauro Icardi had £350,000 worth of items stolen in January.
Keeper Sergio Rico saw roughly £22,000 worth of belongings looted in a separate raid earlier this year.
Both players were on duty with the club at away games at the time of the incidents.

But anyone using his full name on Twitter when discussing him on Sunday found that the social media platform were banning their accounts.
Depay’s surname instantly started trending as users became aware of the bug for the word ‘memphis’, specifically without the capital letter.
A peculiar challenge emerged where people attempted to trick accounts into getting them suspended by asking what the star’s first name was.

Some posted pictures of Depay’s fingers in his ears celebration for when users continued to trick them into typing the word ‘memphis’.
Others shared memes of Spiderman turning to dust in the Avengers to represent those that had been banished for full-naming the forward.
Even Lyon’s official account got in on the act by tweeting a snap of Depay with the caption: “Hey Twitter – can we talk about him yet.”
The club then followed it up by tagging the City of Memphis, Tennessee and joking: “Rough day, huh”.

Twitter eventually corrected the problem and restored users accounts for what they claimed was violating people’s private information.
A statement said: “A number of accounts that Tweeted the word “Memphis” were temporarily limited due to a bug.
“It’s been fixed and the accounts have been restored. We’re sorry this happened.”

LYON star Houssem Aouar ‘lacks motivation’ for ‘smaller matches’, according to the club’s former boss Alain Perrin.
Aouar, who has been linked with Arsenal, was hooked at half-time of Friday night’s 1-1 draw with Reims.

With Lyon in their first title race in years, manager Rudi Garcia was ruthless with his talented midfielder.
And Perrin, 64, believes that Aouar can struggle to get up for certain games.
He told L’Equipe: “Aouar, I do not say that he chooses his matches because it is not that, but it may be hard for him to get motivated for smaller matches.”
The 22-year-old’s performances remind Perrin of mercurial talents Dmitri Payet and Hatem Ben Arfa.

He continued: “He has talent, it is not a question of abilities but rather of state of mind.
“It is not easy, I experienced that with Dimitri at St-Etienne and Hatem at Lyon. They are often there in the big games.”
Perrin also lamented his old team’s lack of consistency in general, adding: “The problem for Lyon with its young players is that they have been in the training of the club, they are gifted but they still have difficulty in having regularity in their performances, in repeating their efforts.
“They are therefore less at it in some matches. The good pro must be able to be even if he does not splash his talent at every meeting.”

Remarkably, all three title challengers in Ligue 1 dropped points over the weekend.
Leaders Lille OSC were held to a 0-0 draw by AS Monaco, while Paris Saint-Germain fell to a shock 2-1 defeat to Nantes at Parc des Princes.
The weekend’s results see Lyon stay third on 60 points, behind PSG on goal difference and trailing Christophe Galtier’s league leaders by three.
As for Aouar, he has managed six goals and four assists in 26 outings this term.
