Cristiano Ronaldo ‘looking at Man Utd and PSG transfers’ with Juventus ‘unable to pay wages’ if they miss out on Europe

JUVENTUS face having to sell Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United or Paris Saint-Germain if they miss out on the Champions League. That is according to reports in Italy which doubt the Bianconeri’s ability to support the superstar’s huge wages from the Europa League.
Cristiano Ronaldo could be put up for sale if Juventus’ cash crisis worsensCredit: AP
The weekend’s draw with Fiorentina left fourth-placed Juve hanging onto Serie A’s final Champions League spot and three points clear of Napoli.
Gennaro Gattuso’s side boast a game in hand, against Torino on Monday evening, and a more favourable run-in.
Juventus were already struggling financially amid the coronavirus pandemic, reportedly hastening their push for a European Super League.
But missing out on a top-four finish would hit the club’s coffers hard at the worst possible time.
According to Tuttosport, Ronaldo costs the Old Lady a gross £1million-a-week in wages.
Without the tens of millions raked in via the Champions League, they would reportedly be forced to sell the 36-year-old despite having a year left on his contract.

Furthermore, it is said that the player himself would be keen to leave rather than spend one of his few remaining seasons outside the elite.
United and PSG are named in the report as two potential options.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is thought to be keen on a new forward, as well as a centre-back, this summer with Erling Haaland linked.
While Les Parisiens are fighting to hold onto Kylian Mbappe while also seeking a big addition such as Harry Kane.
Real Madrid have also been touted for a Ronaldo bid but club president Florentino Perez has strongly denied the possibility.
Following the Portuguese forward’s display against Fiorentina, coach Andrea Pirlo leapt to his defence.
Ronaldo’s net wage trumps his Juventus team-mates

He said: “I don’t think Ronaldo did badly.
“He had a few chances and overall was not bad.
“It was the team that should’ve attacked the space more, and we did see some of that in the second half, as Fiorentina had a high line.”

Ligue 1 in thrilling title race as Lille go top after win over fourth-placed Lyon with just TWO POINTS between top three

LILLE lead the way in a thrilling Ligue 1 title race after a stunning comeback win over Lyon on Sunday.A ninth championship in ten years for the imperious Paris Saint-Germain hangs in the balance after a dramatic weekend of action.

    3. Monaco – W22 D5 L7 GD33 Pts 71
    4. Lyon – W19 D10 L5 GD32 Pts 67

Mauricio Pochettino’s side backed up their dramatic win over Saint-Etienne a week ago with a Kylian Mbappe-inspired 3-1 beating of Metz.
The Frenchman powered home the winner at Stade Saint-Symphorien but suffered an injury scare that puts his participation in the Champions League clash against Manchester City in doubt.
PSG temporarily took Ligue 1 top spot until Lille’s trip to Lyon for a huge top-four showdown.
And Lyon’s title hopes were all-but ended by a comeback victory for Christophe Galtier’s men.
Islam Slimani and a Jose Fonte own goal put the hosts in front before Jonathan David struck in between goals from Turkish forward Burak Yilmaz to seal a huge three points.
Veteran stars such as Fonte and Yilmaz have combined with the youthful likes of David, Jonathan Ikone and Sven Botman to create a surprise run at a first title in ten years for Les Dogues.

The win put Lille a point clear of PSG with four games to go, and two ahead of form team Monaco.
In crisis only two years ago, the Principality outfit have been revived by Niko Kovac to claim seven consecutive wins in all competitions.
Wissam Ben Yedder scored late to beat Angers on Sunday and Lyon are next up at Stade Louis II.
Also enjoying a fantastic season are Lens, promoted from Ligue 2 last season and racing to fifth place in the top-flight.

The newboys certainly have the potential to be the kingmakers in the title race with each of Lille, Monaco and PSG left to play.
If Pochettino fails to deliver the title having taken over midway through the season, defeats at home to both Lille and Monaco will be pinpointed as his major missed opportunities.
However, Les Parisiens may forgive missing out if they can secure a maiden Champions League crown with City next up in the semi-finals.

PSG Wags including Victoria’s Secret model Izabel Goulart strip down to bikinis to enjoy sun despite Covid rules

PSG Wags appear to have been barely briefed at all about France’s coronavirus restrictions.Victoria’s Secret model Izabel Goulart posted videos and a group photo of players’ partners in bikinis, captioning it: “The sun has come, Paris.”
Brazilian Izabel Goulart posted this snap, which at the very least seems to mock the spirit of France’s tight coronavirus restrictions
Argentine TV presenter Wanda Nara, wife of PSG striker Mauro Icardi, also seems to be enjoying life with this shot
Izabel Goulart’s January swimsuit had more strings attached than many footballers’ contracts
France has been in lockdown since April 3, including a ban on households mixing and on most travelling more than 10km.
But Izabel, 36, who is engaged to Eintracht Frankfurt’s Germany and ex-PSG keeper Kevin Trapp, 30, has pretty much exposed herself to criticism.
The Brazilian’s Instagram story included a shot of five Wags lying in the sun closer together than a team huddle.
They included goalie Keylor Navas’ wife Andrea Salas, a model who was once Miss Hawaiian Tropic.
Also in the picture were back-up-keeper Sergio Rico’s wife Alba Silva and Carmen Mora, the girlfriend of PSG’s Spain midfielder Pablo Sarabia.
Earlier this year Izabel was snapped in a complex-looking string swimsuit as she holidayed on the Caribbean island of St Barts.
Her orange number appeared to be tied in more intricate knots than a defender facing PSG striker Kylian Mbappe.
Izabel Goulart, fiancee of ex-PSG keeper Kevin Trapp, went for an even boulder pose when she showed off a rocks ‘n roll lifestyle in St Barts

Brazilian model Izabel puts the art in Goulart with this stylish snap on Instagram, where she has 4.6m followers
But the French rules for their latest Covid-19 lockdown seem a lot simpler.
So it might be a mystery to many why Izabel posted such a happy-go-lucky group shot.
But for some reason her 4.6million Instagram followers don’t seem to have been complaining.

Metz 1 PSG 3: Kylian Mbappe limps off in major injury scare just four days before Champions League clash with Man City

KYLIAN MBAPPE has handed Paris Saint-Germain a major injury scare ahead of their Champions League semi-final clash with Manchester City. The French forward limped off with a suspected thigh injury in the 87th minute of the 3-1 victory over Metz.

The forward could now be a major doubt to take on Manchester CityCredit: AFP
Two goals from Mbappe and a late strike by Mauro Icardi ensured the French champions headed to the top of Ligue 1.
But their afternoon was soured with the potential injury to their key man.
PSG are set to take on Manchester City on Wednesday in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.
Boss Mauricio Pochettino was quizzed on the 22-year-old’s injury after the contest and remained hopeful he will be fit to face Pep Guardiola’s side.
He told Canal+: “We think he’s OK and that he’ll be ready for Wednesday.
“We reviewed the action, we see the blow. We are not worried about him.
“We controlled the game well. The team played well even if it is a shame to have conceded this goal at the start of the second half.
“The team played well and deserves this victory. It’s very important to fight to win the championship. Now it’s time for the European Cup. We are ready to face Manchester City.”

Mbappe’s absence would be a major blow to Pochettino having bagged eight in nine games in Europe this season.
He is also in terrific form with seven goals in his last five matches.
Mbappe opened the scoring after just four minutes when he rifled home Ander Herrera’s ball over the top.
Fabien Centonze equalised from the spot just after half-time, before Mbappe restored the lead on 59 minutes.
He pounced on a loose pass from the defender and his strike had too much power for the Metz keeper.
And Icardi ensured the game was put to bed at the death as PSG moved two points ahead of Lille.

On-loan Arsenal star William Saliba could face France ban for ‘posting video of team-mate performing sex act on himself’

Centre-back Saliba, the Gunners’ 2019 signing from Saint-Etienne, is currently on loan to Nice.
He is said to have posted the video in February.
It is understood to have been filmed on his phone in early 2018 while he was on France Under-18 duty.
The later-deleted clip shows Saliba and two team-mates in a hotel room wearing France kit – plus a naked third player touching himself.
Paris-born Saliba, 20, and the third team-mate were due to answer before the French Football Federation on Thursday.
Both players could now land national team bans and fines.
Le Parisien daily reported the FFF could punish the duo for immoral behaviour that damages its image.
Saliba could face further punishment for breaking rules on the non-use of mobile phones while on national duty.

He is under contract with the Gunners until 2024, but has yet to play a senior competitive game.
Indeed, the defender has just a handful of Under-23 and friendly appearances to his name.
And it remains to be seen if Saliba is in Mikel Arteta’s plans next season.

Premier League clubs will NOT be able to afford Haaland and Mbappe transfer fees without Euro Super League, claims Perez

PREMIER LEAGUE clubs have no chance of signing Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland without money from the doomed European Super League. That is the view of deluded Real Madrid president Florentino Perez who is still desperately clinging to the remains of the money-grabbing scheme despite all six English clubs bailing on it already.

Both Manchester United and Chelsea have been linked with Borussia Dortmund ace Haaland.
His agent, the controversial Mino Raiola, even embarked on a world tour to meet prospective clubs interested in the free-scoring sensation.
And Mbappe has been linked with a Paris Saint-Germain exit too.
The France international’s current contract with the Ligue 1 champions expires next summer and talks over a new deal have yet to bear fruit.

    MORE ON SUPER LEAGUE OUTRAGE

Manchester City have been mentioned as a potential destination with the club looking to replace legend Sergio Aguero at the end of the season.
But Perez – whose interviews have taken on a distinctively ‘in denial’ feel since the Super League all-but collapsed – reckons no Prem side will have the cash to afford the stars.
He told El Larguero: “In general, there will not be big transfers this summer.
“When money does not flow from the rich clubs to the poor clubs, everyone suffers. It’s impossible to make signings like Mbappé and Haaland, in general, not just for Real Madrid, without the Super League.”

The desperate Spaniard also claimed fan protests against the Super League at many grounds – including Chelsea’s – were staged.
Despite his attempt to scaremonger the Prem clubs into re-joining with the Haaland/ Mbappe rhetoric, Real are in serious financial trouble of their own.
They are said to be close to £1billion in debt and would also likely struggle to cough up the cash for the pair.
And Perez also said Los Blancos would NOT be re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo.
He refused to confirm they would be extending club legend Sergio Ramos’ contract too – because he would not accept a pay cut.

Barcelona return for Depay but offer Lyon star HALF original pay packet despite transfer interest from three Euro giants

BARCELONA have reportedly cut their salary offer for Memphis Depay by HALF amid the club’s economic turmoil. The upcoming contract negotiations with Lionel Messi will coincide with attempts to reinforce Ronald Koeman’s squad on the cheap.
Memphis Depay is set to become a free agent in the summerCredit: AFP
The Dutch coach has wanted to sign compatriot Depay, 27, for almost a year but will have to wait until he leaves Lyon as a free agent in the summer.
According to Spanish outlet Onze TV3, talks are underway with both Koeman and the player intent on reuniting at the Camp Nou.
However, as reported by Mundo Deportivo, the winger is not being offered the same terms as in previous talks.
Barcelona are said to have sat down with Depay’s camp in October in the hope of a January window switch to replace Ousmane Dembele.
French winger Dembele stayed put and therefore, given the club’s tight financial picture, their pay packet offer to Depay has reportedly been halved.
The former Manchester United flop’s desire to sign for the Catalans will be tested amid talk of rival interest.
Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Inter Milan are all described as keen on a move and would offer a bigger wage.
Depay has rebuilt his career in Lyon having left Old Trafford in 2017.

The club are battling to qualify for the Champions League and are a point off third-placed Monaco, who they face tonight in the Coupe de France.

But, like Depay, Manchester City defender Garcia is said to have been offered a lower salary than discussed earlier in the season.

European Super League dealt huge blow as PSG join Bayern Munich in refusing to enter breakaway competition

BAYERN MUNICH and Paris Saint-Germain have turned down the opportunity to join the European Super League. The duo were the two most notable absentees, when 12 of Europe’s biggest clubs enraged supporters, players, managers and pundits alike by announcing the formation of a new European Super League.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed that Bayern will NOT take part in the ESLCredit: AP

And while both have been invited, neither appear likely to join up any time soon.
Bayern, who are partially fan-owned, have instead backed Uefa’s proposed reforms to the Champions League.
Club CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “FC Bayern did not participate in the planning of a Super League.
“We are convinced that the current structure in football guarantees a reliable foundation.
“FC Bayern welcomes the reforms of the Champions League because we believe that they are the right step for the development of European football.
“The modified preliminary round will contribute to more excitement and emotion in the competition.
“I do not believe the Super League will solve the financial problems of European clubs that were caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

“Rather, all clubs in Europe should work in solidarity to ensure that the cost structure, especially players’ salaries and agents’ fees, are brought in line with revenues in order to make all of European football more rational.”
PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who was today re-elected to the Uefa Executive Committee as representative of the European Club Association, echoed Bayern’s stance.
He said: “Paris Saint-Germain has the firm conviction that football is a sport for all. I have been constant on this point from the very beginning.
“It must be remembered that as a football club, we are a family and a community, whose heart is our supporters, we must remember that.
“There is a clear need to change Uefa’s existing competition model, and the proposal presented yesterday by Uefa, which concludes 24 months of in-depth consultation of the entire European football landscape, is a step in this direction.
“We believe that any proposal without the support of Uefa – an organization which has strived to advance the interests of European football for almost 70 years – does not solve the problems the football community is currently facing, but is otherwise motivated by personal interests.
“Paris Saint-Germain will continue to work with Uefa, the European Club Association and all stakeholders in European football on the basis of the principles of good faith, dignity and respect for each”.
Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig have also confirmed their disdain for the new European Super League, all-but confirming that there will be no German participation.
PSG are quite happy with their current situation, with Champions League qualification each season virtually locked in due to the financial disparity between themselves and the rest of Ligue 1.
And while determined to dine at Europe’s top table, club president Al-Khelaifi has a very strong relationship with Fifa and Uefa – and with Ceferin in particular.
The club’s owners, the Qatar Sports Investments group, also hold rights to broadcast Champions League football on BeINSports.
And Qatar itself is to host the World Cup next year, making conflict with either Uefa or Fifa counter productive.

These developments mean that, as it stands, the ESL would be without Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski – four of the world’s most popular and brand-friendly footballers on the planet – undermining their product as a whole.
The ESL’s formation has been met by anger and derision from all quarters, with Prime Minister Boris Johnson having written in The Sun that he will do whatever he can to stop it.
Prince William has also spoken of the ‘damage’ it will do to the game, while Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville launched a rallying cry to fans on Monday Night Football, attempting to mobilise disgruntled supporters into action.
The likes of James Milner and Ander Herrera have spoken up against the hideous plans – while Jurgen Klopp was also less than impressed – having admitted his unease with the idea of an ESL two years ago.
