Man Utd’s Jesse Lingard ‘wanted by Real Madrid, PSG and Inter Milan’ after reviving career on loan transfer at West Ham

JESSE LINGARD’S remarkable resurgence could earn the midfielder a move to Real Madrid, according to reports. The LaLiga giants are named as one of several clubs keeping an eye on the England international’s stunning form for West Ham.
Jesse Lingard is catching the eye of Europe’s biggest clubs at West HamCredit: AFP
Since joining the Hammers on loan in January, he has tallied eight goals and four assists – losing just one of his nine games.
That has elevated him to the radars of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan, as reported by ESPN.
Champions League football is said to be Lingard’s desire for next season.
United surprised many when extending his contract until June 2022 in December.
But it means the club will hold sway over a potentially lucrative sale this summer, or award the academy product a fresh run in the side.
A permanent move to West Ham is also an option, but the 28-year-old reportedly has no interest in being used as a makeweight in a deal for skipper Declan Rice.
The Hammers are hoping to offer Champions League football next season having returned to the top-four and beaten third-placed Leicester in the past week.
Talks over a transfer are yet to take place with SunSport revealing Arsenal are also among those keen on the England international.

Lingard has earned huge praise for his form while Manchester United contemplate their next move.
Gary Neville believes it is a win-win scenario for the club and former Red, Andy Cole, reckons cashing in is the right move.
Ex-defender Neville told his Sky Sports podcast: “We know he’s a good player.
“United have a big decision to make. Do they cash in and get good money for him, and then replenish the squad in an area they want to, and bring in extra quality?
“Or do they think he’s part of a good 23-man squad? He can’t lose with the decision, [Ole Gunnar] Solskjaer.
“Lingard’s value has gone up, Jesse is enjoying himself, so he either comes back to United and plays a big part in a title challenge, or he gets a good move, United get the money for him, and they can use that money to spend elsewhere.
What I give Jesse credit for is he’s turned up without much football at United.Roy Keane
“I don’t think United or Lingard can lose, it’s a win-win for both parties.”
While Cole told talkSPORT: “I think if I was Manchester United, I would move him on.
“And if I was Jesse I would want to go and play games. Definitely.”
Roy Keane credited Lingard with staying in top condition despite a lack of playing time at Old Trafford.

The Irishman said on the weekend: “He’s been outstanding.
“What I give Jesse credit for is he’s turned up without much football at United.
“He obviously kept himself in good shape which is the sign of a good pro. He maybe took his eye off the ball off the field, but he always had that talent and it’s great to see it.”

Man Utd led by Leicester in Boubakary Soumare transfer race as Tottenham also keep tabs on 22-year-old Lille midfielder

LEICESTER are reportedly ‘confident’ of beating Manchester United and Tottenham to the signature of Boubakary Soumare. The Frenchman, 22, has been a key part of Lille’s title bid with the Ligue 1 leaders three points clear of Paris Saint-Germain.

Having made a name for himself at Stade Pierre-Mauroy after leaving PSG as a youngster, he has aroused the interest of several teams.
Newcastle failed with a £35million bid for Soumare in the January of last year.
And Premier League outfit Leicester are the latest to make their interest known with just over a year left on his contract.
According to the Star, the Foxes are hunting down a deal worth around £30m.
Bolstering the side for Champions League football will be a priority for Brendan Rodgers’ side, if they qualify for the competition.
Sunday’s 3-2 defeat to West Ham left the team on the brink of losing their top-four spot, with similarities to last season’s collapse.

Soumare, who has over 100 appearances for Lille and 12 for France Under-21s, is also said to be catching the eye of United and Spurs.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be preparing for a busy summer window with a new centre-back and striker hotly tipped to be arriving.
While Jose Mourinho have been linked with a surprise move for Marouane Fellaini amid their hunt for a midfielder.
Soumare rejected a move out of Lille in January and boss Christophe Galtier praised how the player has dealt with speculation over his future.

The 54-year-old said in February: “At every transfer window, we talk about him.
“I know that he was in demand this winter, but he was very clear with the president, he wants to continue with us.
“The competition, the transfer window, the situation has not always been easy for him, but I think he has greater clarity in his mind.”

PSG ‘keen on Jadon Sancho transfer if Kylian Mbappe fails to renew contract’ in huge blow to Man Utd

The France international has flirted with a move away from the Parc des Princes and has shown little sign of committing his long-term future to the Parisians.
And with Mbappe not making his intentions for the future clear, The Athletic claims PSG have identified England international Sancho as a replacement for the World Cup winner.
PSG’s reported interest in signing Sancho will be a blow to Premier League big boys Manchester United.
The Red Devils are long-term admirers of the 21-year-old, who they tried to sign last summer, and are said to still be interested in acquiring his services.
United will be hoping Mbappe pens a new deal with PSG in order to avoid a battle with the Qatari-owned club.

And PSG chief Mauricio Pochettino is optimistic the 22-year-old will pen a new deal with the club.
When asked about the recent speculation surrounding Mbappe’s future, the Argentine said: “It’s something we are used to.
“When we talk about top clubs and top players like Kylian Mbappe who is at international level, there will always be rumours.
“The most important thing is that Kylian is quiet.

“He is quiet and focused on the team and helping them achieve their goals.
“Kylian is very mature, despite his age.
“Both club and player are trying to come to an agreement that will see Kylian stay with us for a long time.
“It’s the desire of the club and we are working on everything.

“You cannot control what happens outside. Does it have any effect on the players’ performance or the atmosphere of the team? Zero, no consequences.”
News of PSG’s supposed interest in signing Sancho comes after the winger’s return to training ahead of Dortmund’s Champions League clash with Manchester City.
The former City academy star completed sprints and ball drills during an individual session at Dortmund’s Brackel training centre on Sunday.
Dortmund will welcome Pep Guardiola’s side to the Westfalenstadion on Wednesday night for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.

Cristiano Ronaldo linked with shock PSG transfer in summer if Mbappe quits for Real Madrid amid Juventus struggles

CRISTIANO RONALDO could join Paris Saint-Germain in a shock transfer if Kylian Mbappe leaves for Real Madrid, according to reports. The Juventus superstar, 36, may leave the Italian giants this summer as the club’s struggles on and off the field mount.
Cristiano Ronaldo may be a PSG target this summer should Kylian Mbappe leaveCredit: Getty
Andrea Pirlo’s side look set to surrender their nine-year grasp on the Serie A title with Inter Milan top of the league while they suffered another early exit from the Champions League.
And the club have been hit hard financially by the coronavirus pandemic with major money-saving cutbacks required as soon as possible.
That has led to speculation the £540,000-a-week Ronaldo could be sold for as little as £25million – three years after moving to Turin for £99m.
According to Tuttosport, that could see PSG swoop for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who has won trophies in England, Spain and Italy, should Mbappe go.
Ronaldo would help replace the goals lost – he has 32 in 36 this season while Mbappe has 32 in 38.
However, Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici is determined to keep his star man and told Sky Italia in March: “It makes me laugh, I never would’ve thought Ronaldo could be put up for discussion.
“We’re talking about a player who is the current top scorer in Serie A and has won five Ballon d’Or awards.
“He has already won a lot of titles with us and it’s a privilege to have him in our squad.

“We will hold on to him and enjoy him as much as possible. We’re very happy to have him with us.”
Real Madrid are long-term admirers of the Mbappe but know it would take a mammoth bid – even with the rapid forward out of contract in 2022.
The French World Cup winner, 22, hit out at the negative press from the French media, sparking reports he wants out of the Parc des Princes.
The goal machine said: “When you play for a club in your country, when you give everything from your national team. At a certain moment, it tires you out, yes.
“It is different for the players who play abroad, who only come back to France for the national team.
The most important thing is to feel good where you are and enjoy yourself every dayKylian Mbappe

“Me, I am here all the time, so I am spoken about a lot more. But I was aware of this context when signing for PSG.
“We will see for the future. Of course, critics play a part too. Aside from that, it is not just that. The most important thing is to feel good where you are and enjoy yourself every day.”
Liverpool also remain interested in Mbappe but Los Blancos are favourites as they look for Karim Benzema’s successor and face stiff competition for Erling Haaland.
Selling Mbappe may pave the way to fund Lionel Messi instead if their pursuit of Ronaldo fails.
The Barcelona hero, 33, is out of contract this summer and appears no closer to resolving his Nou Camp future.
A reunion with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City appears most likely but PSG are the side able to match the Etihad club for cash.

Real Madrid to offer Vinicius Jr in swap transfer for Kylian Mbappe as PSG star’s future ‘hangs in the balance’

REAL MADRID could offer Vinicius Jr in part-exchange for Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe, according to reports.Mbappe’s future ‘hangs in the balance’ in the French capital it’s said.

And should PSG show even a slight inclination to sell, Madrid are favourites to land his signature.
According to The Telegraph, there is a ’50-50 chance’ of Mbappe staying at PSG.
But with his contract set to expire in 15 months, and with both parties having made little progress in a year of negotiations, Mbappe could leave this summer.
Despite being about to enter his deal’s final year, Mbappe would still cost more than £87million.
But because of the effect of Covid-19 on the market, PSG may be willing to accept a fee structured over a number of years.
They remain desperate to keep their star man, however, and could even allow him to enter next season without having agreed an extension in the hope he will finally sign.
Another way that Real Madrid could stump up a high enough bid, however, would be to offer a player in part-exchange.
And according to El Chiringuito, PSG sporting director Leonardo could be interested in his compatriot Vinicius Jr.

The Brazilian was in sensational form against Liverpool in the Champions League earlier this week.
But he would be expendable, should Mbappe be available.
Ideally, PSG want to tie Mbappe, 22, down to a five-year extension.
Alternatively, however, the two parties could agree upon a one or two year extension – with a slight pay rise – in order to at least improve PSG’s bargaining position.
As well as Real Madrid, Liverpool are also admirers of his.
Should Mbappe not be available, Real Madrid will go all in for Erling Haaland, having met with father Alf-Inge and agent Mino Raiola last week.
Following PSG’s 3-2 victory over Bayern earlier this week, Leonardo said: “I think we’ll have some news that will make us all happy soon.”
But it is believed he was referring to a new contract for Neymar, whose current deal also expires in June 2022, rather than Mbappe.

Mbappe reveals how Pochettino masterminded PSG win over Bayern and insists ‘I love playing against best in the world’

In a repeat of his heroics away to Barcelona in the last round, 22-year-old Mbappe scored twice including the later winner.
And the Frenchman credited coach Pochettino with the plan that stifled Bayern’s Joshua Kimmich and created space in behind for him to attack.
The striker told RMC Sports, via GFFN: “Above all, this is a superb team performance, I was able to profit from everyone else’s work.
“Aside from that, we are only at half-time in this huge clash. We suffered, but we suffered as a team, we should not be ashamed of our performance.
“We were solid, and we knew how to inflict damage in our strong moments. We will attack the second leg with the same determination.
“As I said in Barcelona, I like these type of matches. I was not always smiling, but I am not here to hide, I like to play these type of matches and to be decisive.
“The coach wanted me to close the passing lines on Kimmich with Neymar and that I run deep to overcome the Bayern block and make them run because they don’t like that. It worked well today. ”
Although Mbappe’s early strike surprisingly beat Manuel Neuer, there were few goalkeepers who would have saved his smart near-post finish to put PSG 3-2 ahead.

The star forward noted that he doesn’t feel any pressure facing such great players.
He added: “I love to play against the best players in the world and Manuel Neuer is one of the best keepers in history.
“I don’t feel any pressure, we played in [last year’s] final against him and didn’t score.
“But this was another game, I scored two goals but I will face him again and I hope to score again.”
Mbappe became the second-highest scoring Frenchman in the Champions League knockouts with the brace, jumping Thierry Henry as he reached 13 goals.
Bayern had not lost in 19 matches in the competition going into the game and must now overturn the deficit at Parc des Princes on Tuesday.

Looking ahead to the return leg, Mbappe noted: “First we need to play well against Strasbourg this weekend.
“And then we will need to attack with confidence, even though we are facing a great team.
“This is the Champions League, there are only great teams.”

Man City ahead of PSG in Lionel Messi transfer hunt but Argentine could stay at Barcelona if they overhaul squad

MANCHESTER CITY are ahead of Paris Saint-Germain in the transfer race to land Lionel Messi, according to reports. But the Argentine great could end up staying put at Barcelona after all.
Manchester City lead Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign Lionel Messi this summerCredit: Rex
According to Mundo Deportivo, the competitiveness of the Premier League is thought to be an appealing factor for Messi as he considers his next step.
Manchester City are on course to win their third title in four years but the strength of the league makes playing in it an exciting prospect.
PSG, meanwhile, may be struggling to win the Ligue 1 title this year but have won seven of the last eight campaigns.
The chance to play under Pep Guardiola again would also attract Messi to the Etihad.
He credits the former Barca and Bayern Munich boss as the best coach he has worked under – alongside Luis Enrique.
PSG, meanwhile, have a strong Argentine contingent with Angel Di Maria, Leandro Paredes and gaffer Mauricio Pochettino to go alongside superstars Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
Di Maria is desperate to play with his international team-mate at club level.
The ex-Manchester United winger told beIN Sports: “From my whole career, from everything I’ve seen, I think Leo is from another planet. To have him as a team-mate would be wonderful.

“But he is a Barcelona player, he has a contract. After that, we’ll see.
“I talk a lot with him and I always tell him that the important thing is his happiness and that of his family. It’s hard to say anything else.”
Messi sensationally tried to quit Barcelona last summer before a dramatic U-turn agreeing to see out the final year of his contract.
But in a season that has seen Joan Laporta return as president and with the possibility of a league-cup double still on the cards, there is a chance Messi will remain at the Nou Camp beyond this summer.
The report adds an overhaul in the Barcelona squad could convince him to sign a new deal.

Barca are in financial disarray so he would need to take a pay cut in any contract extension.
But Messi wants to win the Champions League again with his boyhood club – he last did so in 2015.
Bringing in new recruits to add to the young talents of Frenkie de Jong, Sergino Dest, Pedri and Ansu Fati could bolster the team enough to challenge in Europe again while Messi is still at the peak of his powers.
The worry for the Argentine is if the club are reliant on waiting for the next generation to progress, it may be too late for the club captain.
Barcelona are chasing Erling Haaland as their No1 transfer priority – along with some of the other top clubs in Europe.
David Alaba, Eric Garcia, Georginio Wijnaldum and Memphis Depay all continue to be linked with Ronald Koeman’s side as well.
