According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona are waiting for Wijnaldum to make a decision on his future.
Previous reports suggested the 30-year-old would sign for the Spanish giants on a free transfer.
But that move appears to be in doubt as PSG have reportedly offered to double his pay.
Both clubs are believed to be offering Wijnaldum a three-year contract, with the LaLiga team said to be preparing a medical.
The midfielder is understood to prefer a move to Spain and work under Dutch legend and Barca manager Ronald Koeman.
But the Ligue 1 side are allegedly complicating matters by offering him more than €150,000-a-week.

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are also believed to be monitoring the Holland international.
According to Marca, Wijnaldum told the press earlier this week: “I cannot deny talks [with Barcelona].
“My contract ends and it is an interesting situation for many clubs.”

Wijnaldum enjoyed an excellent six-year stint in the Premier League after leaving PSV for Newcastle United in 2015.
Although the Magpies were relegated in his only season at the club, he’s gone on to win the Prem and Champions League at Anfield.
And the 74-cap international has been included in Frank de Boer’s squad for the Euros.

But Spanish outfit Real remain keen to sign Mbappe, with the player reportedly having a ‘family agreement’ to join the LaLiga side.
And Benzema – who is part of Les Bleus’ Euro 2020 squad along with Mbappe – has given his seal of approval should a deal take place.
He told AFP: “If he came to Real, that would be ideal.
“All great players want to come to Real one day so I wish it will happen quickly, if he wants to leave PSG that is, they are a good team too.”
Benzema also told Marca: “I don’t know what will happen, but Mbappe would be welcome at Real Madrid.
“He is a player who has all the qualities to be a player of Madrid in the future, I hope so.
“I don’t like to compare. He is still a young player, a phenomenon.

“PSG is pressing, they want to support him with Neymar.”
Talk of a sensational PSG switch has gathered pace since Neymar’s bombshell interview last month.
The Brazilian, who has signed a new £500,000-a-week deal at the French club, was asked which player he’d like to line up with.
And he told GQ Style: “”I would choose Cristiano Ronaldo – because I already played with great players like Messi and Mbappé.

Ronaldo’s future at Juventus was plunged into further doubt by the return of former boss Max Allegri.
According to The Express, the Italian coach’s return could spell the end for Ronaldo at the club.
This is because Allegri reportedly asked Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli to get rid of the Portuguese superstar around the time he was sacked.
The request came after Ronaldo had spent just one season playing for the then Italian champions, a campaign in which he netted 28 goals in 43 games.

Real Madrid ‘will buy Mbappe as gift for Ancelotti sparking three-way transfer with Cristiano Ronaldo and Icardi’

REAL MADRID will reportedly increase their efforts to sign Kylian Mbappe following Carlo Ancelotti’s appointment. The ex-Everton boss could land the Paris Saint-Germain star this summer, leading to a potential exchange of Cristiano Ronaldo and Mauro Icardi.

Following the merry-go-round of managers Ancelotti, Juventus’ Massimiliano Allegri, and Mauricio Pochettino are assessing their options.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian’s arrival in Madrid will lead to the club attempting to sign Mbappe as a ‘gift’ to the coach.
Real failed to win a trophy in 2020-21 and linking up the striker with France team-mate Karim Benzema is seen as a surefire route to success.
On Wednesday night, the pair combined in a 3-0 friendly win over Wales.
Mbappe, 22, is out of contract in 12 months’ time leading to lengthy talks with PSG over his future.
If a deal cannot be agreed, Madrid are said to be confident that they can swoop in and nab their number one target for a relatively cheap fee.

Pulling off the deal will lead to Les Parisiens seeking a new star forward to play alongside Neymar – and that is where Ronaldo comes in.
The 36-year-old is also entering the final year of his Juve contract and financial difficulties in Turin have led to speculation over whether the club would sanction a sale.
PSG are predicted to come in for Ronaldo if Mbappe leaves, whereby Juventus would seek to sign Icardi.

The Argentine striker has long been a target for the Bianconeri, leading to rumours of Inter Milan putting an anti-Juve clause in the deal that sent him to Paris.
The exact details of the swap remain to be seen and the Italian giants have also been linked with trading Ronaldo for Paul Pogba.
One alternative replacement for the Portuguese star is Marseille star Arkadiusz Milik, according to reports in Italy.

PSG ‘agree to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma on free transfer before immediately sending keeper out on loan’

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN have agreed to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma on a free transfer and will loan him back to Italy for the first season, according to reports. The Italian keeper failed to agree fresh terms with AC Milan so will leave the San Siro side on June 30.

And PSG have beaten Juventus to his signature, according to journalist Duncan Castles.
The Ligue 1 giants have recently extended Keylor Navas’ deal which seemed to suggest they would swerve Donnarumma, 22.
But they are said to have moved anyway in what appears to be a sound move for the future.
Donnarumma has made it clear he wants to play Champions League football which would leave only a handful of teams for him to join on loan.
Inter, AC, Atalanta and Juve are the four teams who qualified for the Champions League in Italy.
But Juve now seems an unlikely destination after Donnarumma was reportedly left in tears after Milan Ultras threatened him amid links with the Old Lady.
Jose Mourinho is also said to have called the keeper to convince him to join Roma who are only playing in the Europa Conference League with his old team Spurs.
Donnarumma came up through the Milan academy and made his Serie A debut at 16.

He has also been linked with Barcelona who are said to be willing to sacrifice ‘untouchable’ Marc Andre ter Stegen and replace him with the Italy international.
And Chelsea and Manchester United have both been linked given the complicated goalkeeping situation at both clubs.
Milan technical director Paolo Maldini recently told reporters: “He [Donnarumma] has been a protagonist of this season.
“It’s getting more and more difficult to find players who start in a team and always end up staying.
“The roads with Gigio are splitting, I can only wish him the best.”
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Milan want to replace the departing goalkeeper with Lille stopper Mike Maignan.
Milan finished second in Serie A this season, 12 points behind champions and local rivals Inter.

Guendouzi, 22, spent the season on loan at Hertha Berlin in Germany after falling out of favour at the Emirates.
His Gunners career appears to be over after being frozen out by manager Mikel Arteta following a number of incidents.
The French former U21 international has a year left on his deal at the Emirates.
And L’Equipe in France report that he has agreed to join Marseille.
But the report adds that the clubs are yet to agree a deal and talks may have not even started yet.
Guendouzi reportedly travelled to the French city in recent days and discussed a move with Marseille officials.
The Gunners would be keen to move on from him as they look to rebuild their squad after a disappointing campaign.
Arteta’s men finished eighth in the Premier League and missed out on any European football next season.

And academy graduate Colin Dagba hasn’t managed to stamp down a first-team place either.
According to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, newly-crowned Italian champions Inter need to get between £77million to £85m in transfer sales to meet the economic needs of the club.
The report states that the Nerazzurri and PSG are in the advanced stages of negotiations.
And the deal would be around £51.5m – turning a profit of £16.5m from when they acquired him permanently from Real Madrid for £34.3m back in 2020.
The 22-year-old could be the second high-profile Inter star to leave the San Siro this summer.
Title-winning boss Antonio Conte sensationally quit days after lifting the Serie A title.
Conte could return to the Premier League, with managerless Tottenham reportedly adding the Italian to their shortlist.
