Man Utd joined by PSG in Kieran Trippier transfer chase but move hinges on whether Chelsea land Achraf Hakimi

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN are interested in signing Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier, according to reports. The England star has been linked with Premier League clubs Manchester United and Arsenal in recent weeks.

According to France Football via Mundo Deportivo, PSG want to sign Inter Milan right back Achraf Hakimi.
But Chelsea are also believed to be interested in the Morocco international, with Inter allegedly setting a price tag of €80million – around £68.7m.
Rumours suggest the European champions have reached a verbal agreement to sign the 22-year-old, paying £43m plus Marcos Alonso.
The cost and competition for Hakimi may persuade PSG to pursue Trippier instead.
And the Ligue 1 side can afford to pay the asking price for the 30-year-old, rumoured to be €50m – around £43m.
Previous reports claimed Atletico wanted around £30m for Trippier.

It is believed United won’t pay more than £20m for the former Manchester City youngster, who reportedly wants to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.
Arsenal have also been linked with the Trippier in recent weeks, despite the player spending four years at bitter rivals Tottenham under current PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino.
And the Gunners were believed to be keen on making a £43m bid for Hakimi earlier in the year, although it now appears they’ve been priced out of a move.
Right back is an area of concern for PSG as the man that occupied that position last term – Alessandro Florenzi – has returned to parent club Roma.
Early reports suggest the French club may try to sign the Italian defender on a permanent deal, should they fail in their pursuit of Hakami and Trippier.

Voted the league’s best left-back, the Mozambique international made 29 appearances for Christophe Galtier’s side.
He is valued at £9milliion, and has caught the eye of several Premier League clubs.
But Mandava came under fire in his African home country on Thursday when carjackers attempted to steal his new Toyota 4×4.
They fired several bullets through the vehicle’s windows, narrowly missing the 27-year-old defender.
Mandava managed to escape and drive to a police station where he spent the night safely.
An official spokesman said: “He is very frightened. He was pretty traumatised by the situation.”
Mandava had proudly posted pictures of the Toyota on social media just days before.
He had been on his way to the wedding of a friend, Gildo Vilanculos – who plays for Portuguese club Amora FC.

The attack took place in Mozambique’s central Zambezia province, near his birthplace Beira.
Mandava has won 16 caps for the south-east African country, scoring two goals.
He came through Benfica’s reserve side, and played for fellow Portuguese sides Covilha and Belenenses, before making a £2.7m move to Lille in 2019.

And his representatives reportedly want to finalise a deal to take him to Old Trafford ‘in the coming days’.
Varane, 28, has one year left on his Los Blancos contract.
But the France international is unhappy Real chose to negotiate extensions with Luka Modric, Lucas Vasquez and Sergio Ramos ahead of him, according to FootMercato.
PSG are said to have made contact with his agents as a result.
The Ligue 1 giants also got in touch with Real chiefs and were reportedly encouraged after hearing talks had stalled.
But the centre-back wants to move to England instead in a huge boost to Man Utd, according to the Mirror.
Varane has been a star at Real Madrid for a decade and boasts a trophy cabinet containing four Champions League titles, three LaLiga crowns and a World Cup.
And Los Blancos are said to be looking for £50million for him this summer despite him having just 12 months left on his deal.

Arsenal bad-boy Matteo Guendouzi ‘agrees personal terms’ with Marseille ahead of permanent transfer

ARSENAL midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has agreed personal terms with French side Marseille, according to reports. The 22-year-old has not played for the Gunners since June 2020 and spent last term on loan at Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Guendouzi has agreed a deal with Marseille.
The Ligue 1 team are now believed to be discussing a fee with Arsenal for the Frenchman.
Guendouzi hasn’t played under Mikel Arteta since his team’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton 12 months ago.
The midfielder grabbed Neal Maupay’s throat during the match and isn’t believed to have made a great impression with the manager after being called into a meeting to discuss his antics.
He was then reportedly involved in a bust-up with David Luiz at a Dubai retreat after the experienced defender told the youngster to ‘grow up’.
Guendouzi was subsequently removed from the first-team squad, missing Arsenal’s FA Cup final victory against Chelsea last August.

The troubled star was sent out on loan to Berlin last term but didn’t seala deal with his temporary employers, making 24 Bundesliga appearances.
Guendouzi had been a regular under Arteta’s predecessor Unai Emery, featuring 33 times in the Prem during his debut season in 2019-20.
The Spanish coach had signed him from second-tier French side Lorient in July 2018, helping the Gunners reach the 2019 Europa League final.
And Guendouzi might not be the only midfielder leaving the Emirates this summer with Granit Xhaka believed to be on Roma’s radar.

But one player who won’t be heading for the exit is Emile Smith Rowe, with reports suggesting he is on the verge of signing a new five-year deal.
Arsenal are said to be interested in a number of midfielders, including Leicester star James Maddison and Italy international Manuel Locatelli.
They are also understood to have made a £40million bid for Brighton defender Ben White, who’s part of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2020.

Kylian Mbappe says he has never seen a player like Jeremy Doku

Mbappe compared Doku to players like Kyle Walker and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, revealing he has never seen a player like the 19-year-old.
In an interview with France Football, Mbappe said: “Recently, I was speaking with my father about a player who impressed me because of his speed qualities, that is (Jérémy) Doku, at Rennes.
“In 5 years as a professional, I have never seen someone from a standing start demonstrate so much power.
“In terms of an incredibly quick player, I would also put Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
“Neymar too, certainly before his injuries. He could change direction with crazy ease.
“There are also players less explosive from a standing start like Kyle Walker at Manchester City. He is like a tank once he hits his speed once he gets into it.”

Doku’s speed and form for Rennes has gained attraction from several suitors, including Liverpool.
The Reds were initially linked to the youngster in 2020, while he was at Anderlecht, but the Belgium international sealed a £20m to Rennes in the last summer transfer window.
He made 30 appearances in a Rennes side which finished sixth in Ligue 1 last year, and helped his side keep a draw against Mbappe’s PSG in May, which ended up costing them the title.
