FORMER Paris Saint-Germain winger Jerome Rothen believes Kylian Mbappe’s ‘oversized ego’ is proving to be problematic for France. The 43-year-old, who won 13 caps for Les Bleus, has stated that Didier Deschamps is struggling to control the Les Parisiens striker’s attitude.

Mbappe was involved in a public spat with Olivier Giroud prior to Euro 2020 where the Chelsea ace aimed a dig towards the 22-year-old.
The ex-Arsenal centre-forward accused Mbappe of failing to pass to him during the 3-0 friendly win against Bulgaria.
His statement left Mbappe feeling ‘frustrated’ and ‘angry’, while he insisted that Giroud’s comments ‘affected’ him ahead of the tournament.
Mbappe started all three of France’s Euro 2020 group games, but failed to chip in with a goal or assist with his performances questioned.
And ex-Rangers loanee Rothen – part of France’s Euro 2004 squad – has hit out at Mbappe as he claimed no-one can be satisfied with his displays so far.
He told RMC Sport: “That he is the leader on the pitch, no problem… that it [his ego] extends to off the field too, that bothers me.
“I think Didier Deschamps can no longer manage it and it is problematic. It is even surprising that he lets Kylian Mbappe do so many things.
“It can be seen in his performances on the pitch. Today, we cannot say that Kylian Mbappe has had a successful Euros.

“Is he in the right like he was at PSG throughout the end of the season? I would say no.
“We expect much better from Kylian Mbappe. Everyone thinks that Mbappe is one of the best players in Europe.
“But if you immediately put him in the category of the very best, you cannot be satisfied.”
Mbappe is heading into the final year of his contract at Parc des Princes and has been linked with a shock move away this summer.
It has been reported that Real Madrid could make a swoop for the player after Euro 2020.

CHELSEA look set to miss out on Achraf Hakimi as he has agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports. Now PSG must agree a fee with Inter Milan, having previously had an offer worth £56million rejected by the Serie A champions.
Achraf Hakimi has reportedly agreed personal terms with PSG
The French side are expected to bid €70m [£60m], including add ons, to confirm the deal, per Fabrizio Romano.
Hakimi could become PSG’s third arrival of the summer, following in the footsteps of Georginio Wijnaldum and Danilo Pereira, whose loan was made permanent.
The full-back agreeing a deal with PSG is a big blow for Chelsea.
The Blues had been plotting a cash-plus-player exchange for Hakimi, 22, with Inter holding out for £60m.
Marcos Alonso, Emerson Palmieri, Andreas Christensen and Davide Zappacosta are the four players who were reportedly being considered in a potential swap deal.
And earlier this month Chelsea had an offer worth £56m knocked back by Inter.
Chelsea even reportedly reached an agreement with the Morocco international before PSG took command of the transfer race.

And Brazilian top-flight clubs are queuing up for the ex-Chelsea star.
Now French magazine Le10 Sport say PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is making moves behind the scenes to re-sign the 57-cap defender.
Qatari businessman Al-Khelaifi is a big fan of Luiz’s flamboyant style.
But it’s claimed PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino, plus sporting director Leonardo, are still unsure over Luiz.
He was a popular figure with the French giants from 2014-16 either side of two spells with Chelsea.
Luiz won two Ligue 1 titles, French Cups and Trophees des Champions, as well as one League Cup, with PSG.
But Goal suggest Corinthians, Atletico Mineiro, Flamengo, Sao Paulo, Gremio and Palmeiras ae all keen on restoring Luiz to his homeland.

Man Utd joined by PSG in Kieran Trippier transfer chase but move hinges on whether Chelsea land Achraf Hakimi

According to France Football via Mundo Deportivo, PSG want to sign Inter Milan right back Achraf Hakimi.
But Chelsea are also believed to be interested in the Morocco international, with Inter allegedly setting a price tag of €80million – around £68.7m.
Rumours suggest the European champions have reached a verbal agreement to sign the 22-year-old, paying £43m plus Marcos Alonso.
The cost and competition for Hakimi may persuade PSG to pursue Trippier instead.
And the Ligue 1 side can afford to pay the asking price for the 30-year-old, rumoured to be €50m – around £43m.
Previous reports claimed Atletico wanted around £30m for Trippier.

It is believed United won’t pay more than £20m for the former Manchester City youngster, who reportedly wants to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.
Arsenal have also been linked with the Trippier in recent weeks, despite the player spending four years at bitter rivals Tottenham under current PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino.
And the Gunners were believed to be keen on making a £43m bid for Hakimi earlier in the year, although it now appears they’ve been priced out of a move.
Right back is an area of concern for PSG as the man that occupied that position last term – Alessandro Florenzi – has returned to parent club Roma.
Early reports suggest the French club may try to sign the Italian defender on a permanent deal, should they fail in their pursuit of Hakami and Trippier.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Guendouzi has agreed a deal with Marseille.
The Ligue 1 team are now believed to be discussing a fee with Arsenal for the Frenchman.
Guendouzi hasn’t played under Mikel Arteta since his team’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton 12 months ago.
The midfielder grabbed Neal Maupay’s throat during the match and isn’t believed to have made a great impression with the manager after being called into a meeting to discuss his antics.
He was then reportedly involved in a bust-up with David Luiz at a Dubai retreat after the experienced defender told the youngster to ‘grow up’.
Guendouzi was subsequently removed from the first-team squad, missing Arsenal’s FA Cup final victory against Chelsea last August.

Guendouzi had been a regular under Arteta’s predecessor Unai Emery, featuring 33 times in the Prem during his debut season in 2019-20.
The Spanish coach had signed him from second-tier French side Lorient in July 2018, helping the Gunners reach the 2019 Europa League final.
And Guendouzi might not be the only midfielder leaving the Emirates this summer with Granit Xhaka believed to be on Roma’s radar.

But one player who won’t be heading for the exit is Emile Smith Rowe, with reports suggesting he is on the verge of signing a new five-year deal.
Arsenal are said to be interested in a number of midfielders, including Leicester star James Maddison and Italy international Manuel Locatelli.
They are also understood to have made a £40million bid for Brighton defender Ben White, who’s part of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2020.
