“What also convinced me to come was the coach. He is a great European coach, who plays attacking football.
“I was able to see him in his teams in Switzerland or Germany, I saw the way his teams played and that is something that guided my choice a lot.”
He added in an Instagram post: “Delighted to have joined @OGCNice.

Manager Lucien Favre admitted he had no idea what Barkley’s position was.
But the former England ace has given him a helping hand.
He said: “I am an attacking player, I like to help by scoring or passing, but I also like to track back to defend.
    “I can play as a 10 or a false 9, I’m a fairly versatile player.”
Barkley, who said he feels in “very good physical condition”, is in contention to make his debut against Ajaccio on Sunday. More

The pictures originally from Prime Video show them in conversation with Hakimi apologising for the pass his team-mate has highlighted to him, though the pictures appear to be from a game last season.
But Mbappe replied by saying: “It’s not enough to say sorry,” and demanded more quality from the defender.
The Frenchman has leapt from controversy to controversy this season.
The season for Paris Saint-Germain started without him, but upon his return when he took a penalty away from Neymar and missed, it has continuously seen the fractures grow larger.

In another game, Mbappe was seen sulking when the ball was played into Lionel Messi instead of his own path.
While off the pitch, Neymar liked some tweets criticising his team-mate for his increased influence in the team to be the first-choice penalty taker.
This has left Mbappe feeling “isolated” at the club, with the two personalities clashing.
This is despite the on-field performances from the pair showing no sign of discord with Neymar providing an assist for Mbappe in their 2-1 win over Juventus in the Champions League.

Kylian Mbappe and PSG boss Christophe Galtier slammed for laughing off question about making 239-mile private jet trip

KYLIAN MBAPPE was slammed by the Paris mayor after laughing off a question about using a jet to fly to a game against Nantes.Paris Saint-Germain beat the Ligue Un side 3-0 on Saturday with Mbappe netting twice.

But when a reporter suggested the squad ought to travel to such games by train rather than plane the France forward had no reply.
Instead, he burst out laughing as his manager Christophe Galtier dismissed the reporter’s proposal with a sarcastic retort.
He said: “This morning we talked about it with the company which organises our trips and we’re looking into travelling on sand yachts.”
Nantes is 239 miles from Paris and is accessible via a two-hour high-speed train.

French sports minister Amelie Oudea-Castera added: “Mr Galtier – we have become accustomed to more relevant and more responsible answers from you. Shall we talk about it?”
Mbappe also drew criticism from Economy minister Bruno Le Maire, who told BFM-TV: “I adore Mbappe and it can happen to all of us that we burst out laughing at the wrong moment.

Inside Kylian Mbappe and Neymar’s PSG feud, from penalty row to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle jibes

IT’S a feud that’s threatening to blow PSG apart.Superstars Kylian Mbappe and Neymar’s frosty relationship came to a head when they clashed during a 5-2 win over Montpellier – with Mbappe demanding Neymar hand over penalty duties to him last month.
The disconnect between PSG superstars Kylian Mbappe and Neymar is realCredit: AFP
When the French World Cup winner didn’t get what he wanted, he seemingly threw a strop on the pitch.
To top it all off, Mbappe missed a penalty before Neymar stepped up and converted another later in the game, despite Mbappe’s pleas to take the second spot kick as well.
After the game, Neymar appeared to like a pair of tweets criticising Mbappe’s apparent role in the team as the main penalty taker.
And that’s not the first time we’ve heard of unrest in the PSG camp. In the past, Neymar has been accused of comparing his strike partner in looks to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon character Donatello.

Mbappe has admitted all is not well between the pair – and said because they are strong characters they won’t always see eye-to-eye.
Mbappe said: “This is the sixth year with Neymar.

“We have always had a relationship like this, based on respect, but sometimes with warmer and colder moments.
“It is the nature of our relationship. I have a lot of respect for the player that he is.
    Most read in Football
“When you have two players with such a strong character, you have moments like that, but always with respect and in the interest of PSG.”
Talk of a rivalry began almost immediately following Mbappe’s permanent £162million move from Monaco.
In 2018, Mbappe was fuming that Neymar didn’t pass the ball to him during a 1-0 win over Toulouse.
It reportedly escalated into a dressing room bust-up – where shocked team-mates had to separate them.
    Heroes in a half shell
Behind-the-scenes, Mbappe was also said to be on the receiving end of mickey-taking from PSG’s Brazilian contingent – with Neymar the ringleader.
After a Champions League game against Celtic a year earlier, when Mbappe was on loan with the Ligue 1 giants, Neymar and Dani Alves attempted to goad him into eating some pizza on the team bus.
“Donatello, have some pizza! Eat some!” Neymar and Alves joked as they laughed at their gag.

El Pais later claimed Mbappe’s mum Fayza was uncomfortable at the way the teen striker is persistently teased and compared to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Donatello.
Ex-PSG defender Alves also posted a photo of Donatello after Mbappe scored twice in France’s 4-3 win over Argentina in the last-16 at the 2018 World Cup.
While, the same year now Chelsea centre-back Thiago Silva gave the forward a mask of the character as an early Christmas present.
Fayza felt the joke had gone too far, and in essence it does feel like a school bullies in the playground like situation.
Mbappe was believed to have been fed up at being the butt of the joke too, understandably.
    Boiling point
This season, new PSG manager Christophe Galtier made it clear.
Mbappe was to be the No1 penalty taker, while Neymar would be No2 – in the case of Mbappe not being on the pitch.
Clearly, Neymar wasn’t happy with that decision. After Mbappe missed a 21st minute against Montpellier in the first few weeks of the season – they were awarded another 20 minutes later.
Neymar immediately grabbed the ball, much to his team-mate’s surprise, and wouldn’t let Mbappe have the ball.

They had words right before Neymar stepped up and scored, but the ex-Barcelona ace wasn’t listening.
Mbappe sulked on the pitch for the rest of the match. It wasn’t pretty.
PSG chiefs took action the next week. Both were hauled in for showdown talks to iron out their differences.
Astonishingly, Neymar was then reportedly offered out to clubs for a last-minute summer transfer.
Manchester City turned down the opportunity to sign the Brazilian.
    Isolation and empty promises
And Chelsea also opted against bringing him to the Premier League.
It’s no secret Mbappe wants Neymar out of PSG.
All in all, Mbappe feels let down and “isolated”.
In the summer, with his future up in the air, he committed himself to PSG and was awarded with a mega £300million deal.

Somehow, if PSG want to succeed, they need Mbappe and Neymar to sign from the same hymn sheetCredit: Getty
With that came some assurances. Mbappe would be able to have his say on elements of how the club is run.
AS claimed Mbappe would be given the opportunity to take all of the team’s penalties and have power over club decision-making in transfers and appointments.
The report added Mbappe’s new-found power has caused a rift between him and some of his team-mates, leaving him feeling “isolated.”
Mbappe has also been left “disappointed” with the club failing to sell Neymar, a move he did not object to.

Of course, that didn’t happen. Now they have to find a way to make it work.
If they do, they should – on paper at least – be the most fearsome forward line in world football. More

The schedule is set to be even more taxing for elite clubs as the 2022 World Cup forces the competition to wrap up its group stage far earlier than normal.
With Dinamo Zagreb and a Chelsea side potentially including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang set to kick off proceedings tonight, the Champions League has released a new montage to get supporters fired up.
With its iconic anthem blaring in the background, the video sees high-profile players featured in a 40 second clip which will be used as the intro before Champions League match coverage begins this season.
But notably missing is PSG ace Lionel Messi, still one of the biggest stars on the planet aged 35.

The Argentine has lit up the Champions League on several occasions over the past decade and a half and is a surprise exclusion as UEFA flaunt their greatest stars.
Among the players who do feature, Messi’s PSG teammate Kylian Mbappe can be seen in the video sweeping an effort at goal.
Liverpool’s Mo Salah can also be seen skilfully taking down a pass on the Anfield touchline.
Other big names seen include Robert Lewandowski, Kai Havertz and Antoine Griezmann.

The video ends with Marcelo hoisting the giant Champions League trophy above his head.
The snub of Messi comes after the forward’s great start to the season at Paris Saint-Germain.
He has netted three goals already and been heavily involved in some of their high-scoring wins.
Despite his strong start, he still trails his teammates Neymar and Mbappe in the Ligue 1 goal charts, with the squabbling pair scoring seven each already.
But Messi did score a goal of the season contender with an outrageous overhead kick in a 5-0 win at Clermont.
Off the pitch and the star has reportedly purchased a dazzling mansion in Ibiza.
