Kylian Mbappe ‘heard ankle crack’ in horror tackle that reduced PSG star to tears and makes him Champions League doubt

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN forward Kylian Mbappe has revealed he heard his ankle crack after being on the end of a horror challenge from Loic Perrin.

The incident sparked a 22-man brawl on the pitch at the Stade de France, with Les Parisiens emerging victorious after winning 1-0 thanks to Neymar’s early strike.
But the sight of Mbappe on crutches will have terrified PSG fans ahead of their Coupe de la Ligue final on July 31 as well as their Champions League quarter-final meeting against Atalanta next month.
And Mbappe was heard speaking to French president Emmanuel Macron about his injury, as he told him: “It cracked a bit.”
After Macron asked if he had broken his ankle, Mbappe replied: “It’s broken, you think? No I don’t think so.”

The World Cup winner is understood to have had scans on Friday night, with PSG fearing he may have suffered ligament damage that will see him out for the rest of the season.

Mbappe took to social media on Saturday morning, as he told his followers: “Awakening as a winner, no better feeling possible. Thank you all for your messages, it touches me a lot. Kisses to all and have a good weekend.”
Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford responded to his post, as he commented: “Feel better bro!”
PSG boss Thomas Tuchel was left fuming by the tackle on Mbappe after the match, as he slammed the rough tactics imposed by Claude Puel’s side.

He said: “We won, in a final, that’s the most important thing. It was very difficult. We won but we have a lot of things to improve.

Mbappe, 21, was left in agony after being challenged heavily by Loic Perrin

“Aside from that, there were situations with Thilo (Kehrer), Neymar and Kylian Mbappe and that costs us dearly. We have to wait. I don’t have news on Kylian Mbappe.
“This season, we have played three times against St-Etienne, there have been three red cards. And each time, they happen in the first 30 minutes, not at the end of the match when they are tired.
“Today, it started with Ney and finished with Kylian. Aside from that, we got handed three cards for their foul (Perrin red card)! I really cannot understand that.”

Saint-Etienne captain Loic Perrin was sent off following the sliding tackle as PSG went on to win the trophy again thanks to a solo Neymar goal.
After 31 minutes of the final, with the score 1-0 to Paris Saint-Germain, Mbappe launched towards goal on one of his trademark runs.
However veteran centre-back Perrin lunged in and trapped the 21-year-old’s ankle under his knee.

Social distancing was thrown out of the window as seemingly every player on the pitch pushed and shoved over the incident.
Referee Amaury Delerue calmed the sparring squads and even booked Marco Verratti on Les Parisiens’ bench.
VAR recommended the official review Perrin’s original tackle and replays showed the incredibly painful looking injury suffered by Mbappe.
Delerue quickly showed a red card to the Saint-Etienne skipper, who in turn looked devastated as he trudged off, leaving his side in the lurch.

Meanwhile, Mbappe appeared to be in tears while limping off the pitch, with substitute Mauro Icardi replacing the PSG star.

Claude Puel’s ASSE side certainly came out with a combative approach and midfielder Yvann Macon was booked after just 60 seconds for a cynical foul on Neymar.
The game, France’s first major match since their coronavirus pandemic lockdown, allowed 5,000 fans into the national stadium to watch the game under social distancing protocols.
PSG next face Lyon in the Coupe de la Ligue final, looking to secure a domestic treble, but face an anxious wait for Mbappe to be fit to face Atalanta in the Champions League quarter-final.
That game takes place in Lisbon on August 12.

Kylian Mbappe confirms he will stay at PSG next season as he nears end of deal in huge transfer blow to Real Madrid

KYLIAN MBAPPE has confirmed he will stay at Paris Saint Germain next season in a huge blow to Real Madrid’s transfer plans.
The French striker has been heavily linked with Real but his comments may have forced Los Blancos to rethink their next move.

    1

Kylian Mbappe says he is staying at Real Madrid next season
Speaking after PSG’s 4-0 thrashing of Celtic in a friendly on Tuesday, the 21-year-old acted quickly to put rumours of a move this summer to bed.
The talented forward, who the Ligue 1 champions signed from Monaco in 2017 said: “I just have to say that I’m here, I’m in the project for a fourth year.
“For everyone, the directors, the supporters. I’m going to keep going, no matter what.
“I want to help the team win trophies and be the best in the world.”

Mbappe’s PSG contract expires in 2022, meaning if he did depart next summer Real would likely pay far less than they would have to at the end of this season.

Real secured the LaLiga title last Thursday with a 2-1 win over Villareal but they are still expected to do business this summer.
Gareth Bale has been heavily linked with a move away although his agent insists he is going nowhere.
Luka Jovic was also linked with a Bernabeu exit after a disappointing season but Los Blancos may have to reconsider if Mbappe is not coming in up front.

For some time Real’s main targets appeared to be Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante.
However, Pogba is close to agreeing a new five-year-deal at Manchester United after returning from lockdown in scintillating form and forming a devastating partnership with Bruno Fernandes.

Which leaves just Kante, who Chelsea are reportedly ready to sell in order to raise funds to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz.
Reports emerged recently suggesting Real were already planning a 2021 swoop for Mbappe and Rennes star Eduardo Camavinga.
Zinedine Zindane reportedly told his French compatriots not to renew their contracts with their current clubs.

He leaves with the team in ninth place, 28 points behind Paris Saint- Germain, who were crowned champions when the French season was cut short by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Monaco vice-president and general manager Oleg Petrov told the club website: “Our paths are separating earlier than expected but I would like to thank Robert Moreno for accepting the challenge.
“With his staff, Robert did his utmost to improve the team, with enthusiasm and dedication. I wish him the best for the future.”

Kovac was sacked by Bayern in November and has not taken another role in football since.
Speaking about his exit at the time, the 48-year-old said: “I think this is the right decision for the club at the moment.

“The results, and also the way we last played, made me come to that decision.
“My brother Robert and I thank Bayern for the last one and a half years. During this time, our team has won the championship, the DFB Cup and the Supercup.

“It was a good time. I wish the club and the team all the best. ” More

Marseille ‘dreaming’ of Cristiano Ronaldo transfer and hiring Zidane as boss, admits prospective new owner

Prospective investor Mohamed Ayachi Ajroudi is hoping to reinstate the Stade Velodrome outfit as one of the country’s top clubs.
Although Marseille finished second in Ligue 1 this season, they were 12 points adrift of champions Paris Saint-Germain.
In order to close the gap, Ajroudi is hoping to draw some of the biggest names to the club.
One of those is local lad Zidane, who was famously born in the city and has since become a three-time Champions League-winning manager with Real Madrid following a glittering playing career.

Do I dream of signing him for Marseille? Everything is possible in life. He is generous and gives a lot. It makes me vibrate
Marseille’s prospective new owner on Cristiano Ronaldo

But while Ajroudi would love to see Zizou return home, he admits that Andre Villas-Boas has his full confidence.
He told Le Figaro: “A new coach? The one in place is very good.
“But what would be better than bringing back a local lad? Zinedine Zidane? The future will tell us.”
Meanwhile, the new owners are also lining up another Bernabeu legend after dreaming of Ronaldo to showcase his talents in France.

He added: “I love football. I love the noble side of sport. I love German discipline, especially that of Bayern Munich. I enjoy the grinta of Barca.

“And a player that I will never forget is Cristiano Ronaldo. I like respect and discipline. He embodies that.
“Do I dream of signing him for Marseille? Everything is possible in life. He is generous and gives a lot. It makes me vibrate.
“It would be a dream to have him in Marseille… But that is the task of [potential future club president] Mourad Boudjellal.”
