Newport announced their partnership with Goldie Lookin’ Chain on Wednesday and claimed they were ‘rolling back the years’.
The EFL outfit first collaborated with the group for a kit in 2004-05, when GLC were at their peak and the Exiles were a non-league team.
GLC are a comedy rap group from Newport, who achieved national fame in 2004 with the release of ‘Guns Don’t Kill People Rappers Do’.
The song charted at No3 and the group went on achieve six Top 40 singles before fading from the limelight during the mid-noughties.
GLC’s songs joked about ‘chav’ culture and life in South Wales during that era – and the band continue to make music and perform today.
Newport’s website reads: “The Exiles and GLC want to celebrate our city’s unique heritage and culture, so we thought now would be an excellent time to celebrate the famous jersey and bring it back up to speed.

“The design is predominantly sesame and consists of a check pattern, which is made up of red and black lines across the front of the shirt.
“The club crest has also been modified to a blacked-out special edition to blend in with the rest of the shirt.”
Reception of Newport’s fresh kit has been mixed, with some fans on social media loving it and others not so keen.
One tweeted: “Ordered. Looking forward to getting my hands on the worst/best football shirt ever made.”
But another wrote: “Is this real or just a p*** take?”
And one supporter tweeted: “Going to need to get myself one of these beauties.”

Kylian Mbappe unveils new PSG Nike away kit in tribute to Greater Paris and fans love it

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN have unveiled their new Nike away kit and fans can’t get enough of it. Kylian Mbappe and Neymar posed in the new kit, which the club says is an ode to Greater Paris, in an ad campaign alongside new signings Sergio Ramos and Georginio Wijnaldum.
Mbappe has unveiled PSG’s new Nike away kit on Twitter
Neymar also featured in the ad campaign for the new strip which is an ode to Greater Paris
They shared their latest strip on Twitter and won’t have any problems selling any judging by their supporter’s reactions.
One user wrote: “This club has the best.”
    While another said: “Cleannnnnnnn.”
This was the general feeling amongst most fans who also lauded praise on the new design.
The shirt is predominantly grey, with a pink and black stripe running down the middle of its front.
A club statement said: “The daring and innovative pieces feature the club’s classic themes – logo, stripe down the middle, lily flower – and pay tribute to Greater Paris, which is symbolised with references to postmodern architecture from the early 1970s, the Ile-de-France postcodes, and the use of ‘Paname’ a slang word for Paris and its suburbs.”
Some fans had already sneaked a peek at PSG’s new-look after it was leaked online earlier this month.
It’s become the norm for the Ligue 1 runners-up, who missed out on the title to Lille, to chop and change their kits over the last few years.
In 2018, they wore a strip made by basketball legend Michael Jordan’s Nike spin-off brand in the Champions League in a bid to boost their overseas profile.
And it’s not just PSG’s shirt designs that’s had a revamp, there’s been a number of changes made to their squad this summer too.
In a shrewd bit of business, they signed ex-Real Madrid ace Ramos, ex-Liverpool star Wijnaldum and Italy’s Euro 2020 winning keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma on free transfers.
Ramos, who left Los Blancos after 16 years, penned a two-year deal with Mauricio Pochettino’s side earlier this month.
The Spain defender will be on lower wages at PSG than the approximately £310,000-a-week he earned at Madrid.
The Paris side swooped in at the last minute and stole Dutch midfielder Wijnaldum right from under Barcelona’s noses and he signed a three-year contract with them.
And ex-AC Milan keeper Donnarumma will be at the club for the next five years.
The trio are joined at the Le Parc des Princes stadium by defender Achraf Hakimi.

Ukraine’s Euro 2020 kit sparks outrage in Russia by including Crimea in map of country on front of shirt

RUSSIA have been left furious by Ukraine’s Euro 2020 kit that includes a map of their country including Crimea.Ukraine unveiled their new yellow strip on Sunday ahead of the start of the tournament.

It includes a map of their nation on the front of their shirt.
Much to Russia’s anger, the Crimean peninsula is included in the design.
Also on the kit are the slogans ‘Glory to Ukraine!’ and ‘Glory to the heroes!’
The pro-Russian separatist-controlled regions of Donetsk and Lugansk also feature in the silhouette.
Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, considering the area to be part of their territory.
Though this has been rejected internationally, with the United Nations still recognising Crimea as being part of Ukraine.
Both phrases on the kit have become widely used in Ukraine in the military as well as by supporters of the 2014 revolution that forced out pro-Moscow president Viktor Yanukovych, who now lives in Russia.
According to the BBC, Uefa have approved Ukraine’s shirt and the country’s head of the Football Association Andriy Pavelko lauded their design.
He wrote on his Facebook page: “We believe that the silhouette of Ukraine will give strength to the players, because they will fight for all Ukraine.
“And all Ukraine, from Sevastopol and Simferopol to Kyiv, from Donetsk and Lugansk to Uzhgorod will support them in every match.”

But Russian parliamentary deputy Dmitry Svishchev hit out at Ukraine’s kit, saying that the design is a “a political provocation”.
He then claimed that showing a map of Ukraine “which includes a Russian territory is illegal”.
Meanwhile Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharov took to social media where she stated that the slogans used on the shirts echoed a German Nazi rallying cry.
Relations between the two countries deteriorated sharply following the annexation of Crimea in 2014.
Things got worse after the start of a Russian-backed separatist rebellion in eastern Ukraine in 2014.

And the new jersey – made from recycled materials – boasts a new colour scheme, with blue and orange replacing the traditional gold.
The adidas logo stands out in a vivid shade of orange, while Fly Emirates is splashed across the midriff in a bright blue.
The iconic adidas stripes spread across the shoulders in the same blue, while the neckline is both blue and orange.
Real Madrid have revealed the slogan for the new shirt is ‘This Is Greatness’.
It also boasts subtle nods to the Bernabeu stadium and the Madrid community in general.
The spiral graphic on the jersey is even a nod to the Cibeles Fountain – famously were Los Blancos fans converge to celebrate triumphs.
On their website, Real Madrid explained: “The design of the strip reflects the spirit and sense of togetherness within the club, along with the fans, under the slogan ‘This Is Greatness’ and features references to the Santiago Bernabeu.
“The design of the jersey symbolises the madridista community, which is represented by a subtle spiral graphic that is inspired by the Cibeles Fountain, where supporters meet to celebrate the club’s trophy triumphs.”

Real Madrid used Eden Hazard as a model for the new strip, suggesting the injury-prone star could stay, despite rumours saying he wants to leave.
Hazard has seen his game-time sorely limited since joining from Chelsea in a deal worth up to £150million in the summer of 2019.

The Belgian, 30, has been linked with a return to the Blues to get his career back on track.
But Hazard himself has quashed the gossip, saying: “I still have a three-year contract with Real Madrid, so going back to England is out of the question.
“Everyone knows that my first two years were not good, so first I want to prove myself at Real Madrid. I will do everything to do that.
“I certainly don’t see myself leaving Madrid, given the contract situation.
“I know myself and I know when I’m in shape. If that’s the case, I can give it my all for Real next season. That’s my plan.”

That was the year that the club wore a full-flooded red kit for the very first time.
Shankly famously provided the reason behind the switch, saying: “Red is for danger and red is for power.”
According to Liverpool’s official website, the new red kit is ‘detailed with bolted pinstripes and bright crimson sleeve cuffs and neckline – representing power, energy and danger.’
And the jersey also has a nod to the 1990s as it is completed with a fossil-coloured swoosh and crest.
Finishing off the description, Liverpool wrote: “The green neck tape features a thread of stripes which are ever-present in the home collection.
“The final touch is the fresh new look from Standard Chartered Bank. Bold, vibrant and digital-friendly, the brand is fit for a new era.”
And it has certainly proven to be a hit with defender Virgil van Dijk.
The Dutchman, who should be back for 2020 Premier League champions for the big kick-off in August, said: “It’s great to see the perfect blend of our heritage and Nike’s product innovation for our new home kit.

“Being part of the swoosh family for years, they’ve been at the forefront of sustainable design and it goes a long way into making our sport a greener one.
“I can’t wait for the fans to see it in person next season.”
Both the shirts worn by players and those purchased by fans having been ‘constructed with 100 per cent recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles,’ according to the club.
Fans are able to pre-order the new kit and training on Liverpool’s website now.
And the both will go on general sale from Thursday 3 June.

Chelsea release 1960s inspired home kit for 2021-22 season but fans blast ‘horrific’ new zig-zag £105 design

CHELSEA have released their 1960s-inspired home kit for the 2021-22 season – but fans have blasted the ‘horrific’ £105 design. The Blues showed off their new home strip with a psychedelic video featuring stars such as Callum Hudson-Odoi dancing to The Zombies hit Time Of The Season.

Chelsea fans have not responded favourably to their 2021-22 home kit – which costs £105Credit: Instagram
And while the video piqued the interest of Chelsea supporters, the kit itself seemed to leave much to be desired.
Two-thirds of the ‘Lyon blue’ shirt is covered in zig-zags, while the left-most third of the V-neck top boasts a chequerboard design.
The Nike swoosh and club crest trim have both seen their traditional white colour-scheme ditched in favour of ‘Opti yellow’ – confirming what fans had feared following March’s leak.
The yellow theme continues further down the kit too, with chunky stripes of the luminescent colour etched along the sides.
The price has done little to help fans look past the garish design either.
For the top of the range ‘Vapor Match Shirt’, supporters will need to shell out a staggering £104.95.
The home replica top and women’s strip cost an eye-watering £69.95 apiece, with the kids version still a staggering £54.95.
But fans have hardly taken to the throwback strip, taking to Twitter to complain.

One fan wrote: “Had to pick the worst colour.. yellow… horrific, nice one lads!”
Another tweeted: “I’m a Chelsea fan but lemme be honest… This jersey is not nice at all.”
Referencing Wednesday’s shock defeat at home to Arsenal, a third joked: “First you lose to Arsenal then this? Back to back L’s.”
One pleaded: “Can you release a good away kit so I can at least buy a kit next season?”
