Ex-Liverpool star Daniel Agger is now a tattoo artist and invested in sewers when his career came to an end

DANIEL AGGER’S retirement is much like his playing career – mixing dirty work and artistry.Following his premature retirement in 2016, at the age of 31, the former Liverpool hard-man decided to put money into his passion and necessity: tattoos and poop.
Former Liverpool defender Daniel Agger is now a qualified tattoo artist
The Danish defender trained to be a tattoo artist and is now part of one of the biggest parlours across the world, called Tattoodo.
But for Agger that was not it, as he had more money to invest in s***.
Now 36, Agger launched a company in 2013 called KloAgger, putting £450,000 into a company that manages sewage systems in Denmark.
So how did they come up with the name? KloAgger translates to ‘Agger toilet’.

Agger is regularly involved with the firm but his younger brother Marco and their friend Rune Rasmussen oversee it day-to-day.
Inked-up Agger is more interested in the tats.
He started and finished his career at Danish club Brondby, and it was as a 15-year-old youth player that he got his first work done.
“I was about 15 and on a school trip to Paris,” Agger said in an interview on Tattoodo’s website.

“It wasn’t something I’d thought about before. Me and a friend went into the shop and said that’s what we’re going to have and we got it. I still have it today.”
But it’s been added to dramatically, with almost every inch of his body containing a tattoo.
There’s the viking graveyard across his back, the love hearts on his calves, Latin proverbs all over his body and the names of his family members etched in.
“I see it as one piece,” Agger, a qualified tattooist, said. “When I speak to people I talk about my tattoo as one piece but obviously every tattoo has a story, some better than others.”

One of the more recent is the ‘YNWA’ stamped onto his knuckles – the well-known Liverpool acronym for Anfield’s anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone.
“Timing was quite good,” Agger said. “[There were] a lot of rumours sending me to another club for a lot of money but I knew I was staying.
“Somehow I wanted to show that to the footballing world and this was a way I wanted to show it.”
Agger did eventually leave Liverpool in 2014 and spent two years at Brondby before ending his career earlier than expected.
Back problems throughout his career saw Agger relying on painkillers to see him through, but he believes they were his downfall.

“I have taken too many anti-inflammatories in my career,” he told Jyllands-Posten.
“I know that full well, and it sucks, but I did stop it [in the end]. I am not gaining anything personally from saying this but I can only hope that other athletes do.
“It could be that others take a pill or two less.”

Chelsea hero John Terry’s incredible Ferrari collection worth £4m, from rare £2m Enzo to a 1960s 275 GTB priced at £1.5m

JOHN TERRY has fulfilled his childhood dream by owning a garage full of Ferraris worth around £4million.The Chelsea legend loves the Italian brand so much he has several of the classy motors sitting in the garage of his Surrey home.
John Terry boasts a stellar Ferrari car collection
From the incredibly rare Ferrari Enzo (only 400 were ever produced) that’s worth a stonking £2m to the sleek, sophisticated 275 GTB that dates back to the 1960s that can be worth as much as £1,5m, Terry, 38, is a Ferrari aficionado.
And if that’s not enough, his everyday runner is a £170,000 458 Spider.
    FERRARI ENZO – £2m
In 2013, after lifting the Europa League, he splashed out on the iconic Enzo – originally produced in 2002.
It was developed using Formula One technology, has a carbon-fibre body, and can reach a top speed of 221 mph.
The Ferrari Enzo is a limited edition 2003 super car named after its Italian founder.Originally Ferrari only made 399 models but they turned out a 400th for the Pope.I used to go to a showroom in Surrey, they had Enzos, and the Enzo had been my dream car growing up but could never afford it.”John Terry
Terry’s Enzo was a display car at the 2003 Amsterdam Motor Show and it had 4,163 miles on the clock when the ex-England international bought it.

Terry admitted in an interview with Petrolicious that he had always had his eyes on one, and wished he’d been able to buy one sooner.
He said: “I was probably about 20, 21. I used to go to a showroom in Surrey, they had Enzos, and the Enzo had been my dream car growing up but could never afford it.
“It’s one of those things on the bucket list. Unfortunately, they were a lot cheaper back then as well. Wish I’d have bought one back then.
“I just loved the look and the limited availability of stuff like the Enzo. Not many on the road, one gets crashed per year as well, so they’re going down.
“It was an investment as well for the sake of the kids and stuff like that, but just loved to look at the Enzo and the classic cars. I love it.”
Terry has Ferraris including an Enzo and 275 GTB
The Ferrari Enzo is said to be worth a staggering £2m
    FERRARI 275 GTB – £1.5m
If you had money, and you lived in the swinging ’60s, the 275 GTB was one of the best cars on the market.
And in popular culture the model became iconic when it was bought by ‘King of Cool’ Steve McQueen when he filmed classic movie, Bullitt.
JT showed of his purchase in 2015 on Instagram, that could’ve cost him anything up to £1.5m.
The Aston Villa assistant coach bought the car from dealer Tom Hartley Jr, who has helped him build his Ferrari collection over the years.
“In England. I deal with Tom and he advises me on this stuff,” Terry revealed.
“I’ve had my eye on a couple of his cars for a few years and just decided to take the plunge (on the 275 GTB). I’ve always appreciated it.”
And despite being made a long time ago, the 275 GTB is no slouch either.
It boasts a 0-60 mph time of just over six seconds, which is still faster than most cars today.

In pop culture the Ferrari 275 GTB was owned by Steve McQueen, who bought one while making BullittCredit: Not known, clear with picture desk
    FERRARI 458 SPIDER – £170,000
It’s not a bad every day runner is it?
When Terry wants to go to the shops, he often takes his 458 Spider with him, and why not?
Capable of hitting 0-60 in a staggering 3.3 seconds, it’ll get you where you want to go fast.
And, of course, it doesn’t cheap with a price tag of around £170,000.
Other footballers who love the 458 Spider include Mario Balotelli and Arsenal star Mesut Ozil, who all own one.
Terry invested in the Spider back in 2012, and often travelled to Chelsea’s Cobham training ground in it.

    FERRARI TESTAROSSA – £150,000
Although he hasn’t shared any images of them on social media, Terry’s Ferrari collection also includes a Testarossa (worth £150k in good nick), as made famous by Tom Selleck in Magnum PI, and a Lusso, that today costs around £200k.
But Terry doesn’t just confine himself to supercars, and admittedly does like something a little more comfortable from time to time.
That’s why he’s also been seen over the years driving motors including a Rolls-Royce Wraith (£250k), a Bentley Continental GT (£160k), as well as a special edition gold Range Rover Overfinch (£90k).

“Range Rover, that’s my day to day with the kids, school run and stuff like that,” Terry revealed
“I’ve got the Range Rover for the family, and I’ve obviously got my cars that I love, which is the Enzo.”
When it comes to getting behind the wheel, it’s clear that Terry loves to live life in the fast lane.

Footballers who are musicians, from Liverpool goalie Alisson on guitar to Leeds star Patrick Bamford playing the violin

FOOTBALLERS have a lot of downtime. And some have amazing hobbies – like Cristiano Ronaldo who loves to play bingo and Toni Kroos who is obsessed with darts.
Meet SunSport’s footballing super band, Gareth Ainsworth on vocals, Alisson and Slaven Bilic on guitar, Alexis Sanchez on keyboard, Petr Cech on drums and Patrick Bamford playing the violin
But others have picked up a musical instrument and learned how to play – for good or bad is anyone’s guess.
Here’s some of football’s biggest names who can hold a tune…. allegedly. And we’ve picked them for our very own football super band.
    ALISSON
Liverpool’s Brazilian goalie is a self-confessed Britpop fan and loves bands like Oasis.
It inspired him to pick up a guitar and learn a few chords.
Alisson even sang ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ at his initiation for the Reds, the summer he arrived at the club.
We’ve got him on lead guitar.

    PETR CECH
The Czech legend is infamous now for his skills on the drums.
Cech has posted several videos on YouTube playing along to rock hits, including the Foo Fighters song ‘Best of You’.
He bought a drum kit in 2011, after playing Guitar Hero at team-mate Carlo Cudicini’s home on the PlayStation, so he gets our vote on the skins.

    PATRICK BAMFORD
Cultured Leeds striker Bamford enjoyed a posh upbringing.
He went to private school, and when he was a youngster learned how to play the violin, as well as the piano.
Bamford even made fun of his talent replying to a parody account that said he played the cello.
“I favour the violin actually, old chap. I personally find the cello far too monotonous,” he brilliantly protested.
For that, giving us a Dexys Midnight Runners theme, Bamford makes the band.
Leeds star Patrick Bamford is musically talented, can play guitar, piano and the violin

    ALEXIS SANCHEZ
The Chilean forward has been a skilled pianist for years.
So, it was no surprise to see him once upon a time propped up next to a piano for his Manchester United transfer announcement video when he signed from Arsenal.
Better still, he was apparently REALLY playing the Glory Glory Man Utd tune too. Sanchez is on keyboards.

    SLAVEN BILIC
Croatia’s footballing answer to Van Halen, former West Brom boss Bilic loves hard rock.
He once joined the band Rawbau – a Balkan Foo Fighters – to jam on a single in 2008.
Flashing tattoos in a black t-shirt and jeans – Bilic looked liked he belonged so he can play rhythm for us.

    GARETH AINSWORTH
The Wycombe manager looks like a rock star with his flowing locks.
Ainsworth even has his own band, The Cold Blooded Hearts who often perform local gigs doing covers.
Back in November, the former QPR star teamed up with Wills & The Willing and released a Christmas single with any money made donated to dementia charities. Cech joined them on drums.

    HONOURABLE MENTIONS
    NOBBY SOLANO
The Newcastle wideman was a modest lad, and not one for blowing his own trumpet. But, he literally did when he got home.
One time, he reportedly even picked up the phone to then-boss Bobby Robson and played him a tune.
“I don’t think Bobby Robson was so keen on me playing my trumpet,” he once told FourFourTwo magazine.
“He didn’t know about it when he first took over as manager, but he soon found out when I rang him up one night and played down the phone to him. I’m not sure he was too amused.”

    HODDLE AND WADDLE
If we needed backing vocalists for Ainsworth, Glenn Hoddle and Chris Waddle would be our Pepsi & Shirlie.
In 1987, they famously released their debut single, ‘Diamond Lights’ which reached No12 in the UK pop charts.

Waddle, who played in a European Cup final, later recalled appearing on Top of the Pops as “the most nerve-racking thing [he’d] ever done”.
They promptly followed ‘Diamond Lights’ up with a second single, ‘It’s Goodbye’.
And it was from them, coming in at 92, and seemingly ending their short-lived pop career.

Real Madrid’s failed youngsters include Man Utd star Mata, Barcelona legend Eto’o and Liverpool midfield ace Fabinho

RIGHT now, the focus for Real Madrid is on youth.Los Blancos transfer policy in recent seasons has been to build for the future – assembling a crop of the finest young talents that one day might give them sustained glory for years to come.
Samuel Eto’o was one of many young players that slipped through the net at Real MadridCredit: Getty Images – Getty
But, there’s a flip side to that strategy.
These nine youngsters failed to make the grade at the Santiago Bernabeu, after offering so much promise early on.
And in this lot there’s a Barcelona legend, Tottenham flop, a Premier League winner at Liverpool and a current first team star at Manchester United – who kicks us off.JUAN MATA
It was at Valencia where Mata made his name, before moving to the Premier League with Chelsea and then on to the Red Devils.
Originally a Real Oviedo youth product, Los Blancos pounced on the attacking midfielder when he was 15.
He played his way through the youth ranks to the second string, where he scored ten goals in a team that was relegated from the Spanish second division.
Mata had a release clause in the final year of his contract that allowed him to talk to other clubs – and in 2007 he moved to Valencia.

    SAMUEL ETO’O
Here’s one that Real Madrid would’ve kicked themselves that it didn’t work out, especially given his record for their LaLiga rivals Barca.
Cameroon legend Eto’o, now part-time singer, was on their books as a 16-year-old after moving from Kadji Sports Academy in his homeland.
He found his path to the first team blocked by the likes of Raul, Fernando Morientes and Ronaldo ahead of him in the pecking order.
Restricted to just seven appearances, where he failed to hit the back of the net, he moved to Mallorca permanently in 2000.

    FABINHO
Liverpool’s Brazilian midfielder was once on the books at Real Madrid.
At 18, he was bought from Fluminense and given time to blossom in a B team that featured the likes of Alvaro Morata, Casemiro and Lucas Vazquez.
Then-manager Jose Mourinho gave Fabinho his debut for Real in 2013 – in a 6-2 rout of Malaga.
But when the Portuguese boss left he was loaned out to Monaco, before signing for the French club permanently.

    MARCOS ALONSO
Chelsea left-back Alonso was born in Madrid and joined La Fabrica as a kid.
He rose through the youth ranks, before he was handed his debut by Manuel Pellegrini in 2010.
But with chances hard to come by, Alonso moved to England – signing for Bolton Wanderers that same year.
He was sold to Fiorentina, also enjoying a loan spell at Sunderland, and then joined the Blues.

    ROBERTO SOLDADO
Born in Valencia, who he would later go on to star for, Soldado joined Real Madrid at 15.
The striker was prolific for Real Madrid’s B team – scoring 63 goals in 120 games, but he couldn’t replicate that form in the first team.
He played just 19 times in the four years he was there – finding the net four times until he was sold by Fabio Capello.
Soldado would famously turn up at Spurs for £26million – and flop miserably.

    ALVARO NEGREDO
The former Manchester City striker started his career at Rayo Vallecano and moved to Real Madrid Castilla in 2005.
He managed to impress then boss Capello and was called up to a few games in the Copa Del Rey, but was an unused substitute.
Negredo was sold to Almeria with an option for Real Madrid to buy him back, and after 32 goals in two seasons they did just that – but guess what?
He never got a game then either and joined Sevilla the same year.

    SANTIAGO CANIZARES
Canizares went on to become a Valencia legend, representing Spain 46 times between 1993-2006.
But before he found fame elsewhere, he was guarding the sticks with Real Madrid C from 1988.
The 5ft 11in stopper was loaned out three times, most memorably to Celta Vigo – where he gained La Liga experience.
However, he was unable to dislodge German World Cup-winner Bodo Illgner as No1 and was eventually sold to Valencia in 1998 – after spending 13 years with the club.

    JOSELU
Newcastle and Stoke fans will be familiar with the Spanish centre forward, who struggled to find any sort of rhythm in front of goal in English football.
But in Spain he was a goalscoring machine at youth level, initially with Celta, before Real Madrid swooped when he was 18.
For Real’s B team he scored 40 goals in 72 games – beating Alvaro Morata to top scorer in the 2010-11 season.
With Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema blocking his path for the first team, he moved to Hoffenheim in 2012.

    JACK HARPER
Compared to Robin Van Persie and labelled a wonderkid by his coaches, Harper was born in Malaga to Scottish parents and touted as the next big thing.
He signed for Real Madrid on an initial 12-month contract at the age of 13 – living at the club’s training ground.
Three years later he was handed a five-year contract, which was extended by another two years in 2014.
However, after the club said they wanted to loan him out when he was 18 – he decided to leave, joining Brighton.
There, he suffered a knee injury that kept him out of the game for six months.
He’s currently on the books of Getafe.

But off it, the Brazilian is just as an attractive proposition for the opposite sex.
Through the years, the former Barcelona forward has dated these stunners.
From the mother of his son to his most recent ex, SunSport delves into Neymar’s love life.
    CAROLINA DANTAS
Now a social media personality, Carolina was Neymar’s first love.
The pair dated when Neymar was a rising star at Santos from 2010-11, but their romance last just a year.
However, Carolina welcomed his only child, Davi, after they split.
Despite splitting, the two are firm friends and raise their son together.

    BARBARA EVANS
After splitting with Carolina, Neymar embarked on a short relationship with Playboy cover model Evans.
It lasted just a month or two, before they parted ways.
After meeting Neymar, Evans became famous in her native Brazil – appearing on a number of reality TV shows.

    PATRICIA JORDANE
If ever Neymar was ever going for a type from here on in, then certainly Patricia could have been one.
In 2013, he reportedly dated another Playboy model – this time it was this beautiful brunette.
She even posed on the front cover of the magazine with the headline ‘The brunette that enchanted Neymar’ – saying her and the footballer were an item.
However, Neymar denied the claim, took Playboy to court over use of his name and defamation, and the publication was quickly suspended.

    BRUNA MARQUEZINE
In the Brazilian press, Neymar and Bruna were the golden couple.
But, in truth, it was an impossible relationship. They were on/off for the best part of five years between 2012 and 2017.
They met at the Rio Carnival and immediately hit it off, but couldn’t sustain a romance.
Some blamed the distance between Neymar and the actress, there were unfounded allegations of affairs, and even a different political stance. But Bruna denied this, revealing they had just run their course.

She claimed he paid for her to fly to Barcelona, where she spent three days with the star.
Photos of the pair were leaked in the Spanish press, but Neymar said the pair were just friends.
Neymar filed a lawsuit against Laryssa denying the claim.

    GABRIELLA LENZI
Just ahead of the 2014 World Cup, Neymar had got himself a new love interest.
This time, he was willing to shout about it. He shared selfies with the supermodel on social media and appeared smitten.
They were last seen together in Ibiza after Brazil were thrashed by Germany.
Lenzi has never confirmed they were an item.

    SORAJA VUCELIC
Neymar was seen again in Ibiza enjoying the local scene later that year.
And this time, he was with another beauty – former Serbian Playboy’s Playmate of the Year, Soraja.
As well as modelling, she finished psychology at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Philosophy.
He reportedly sent his private jet to pick her up and bring her to Spain to meet again months later.

    JHENNY ANDRADE
In 2015, UFC Octagon beauty Jhenny and Neymar kicked up a storm at a party on New Year’s Eve as we saw them for the first time as a couple.
They were labelled the ‘Ken and Barbie’ of the football world for the brief minute they were together.
Andrade would later be seen at two his games, including one against Real Betis where he slipped and missed a penalty!

    CAROLINE CAPUTO
Come 2017 and Neymar was reportedly seeing someone else.
This time it was supermodel Caputo, who a Brazilian magazine claim was spied spending time with the football ace while he was on holiday in his homeland.
Again, a romance wasn’t confirmed – which leaves this one a mystery.
Soon after, Neymar signed for PSG.

    NATALIA BARULICH
His most recent ex, Natalia is another stunning model who met the forward at his lavish birthday party in 2020.
She later posted a photograph of them together as she wished him a happy birthday.
The model wrote: “Everyone knows how extraordinarily talented you are, but if they could only see how real & beautiful you are inside your heart.

“You have all my respect and honour bebe.”
She reportedly dated Colombian singer Maluma before Neymar, which his team-mates reportedly ribbed him about.
But it didn’t work out, and Neymar is now reportedly enjoying the single life.

Man Utd flop Di Maria out for revenge on English football after nightmare spell when PSG face Man City

MANCHESTER was not a happy time in either the life or the career of Angel Di Maria. He was, of course, in the red of United. But now he stands between the sky blue of City and their dreams of reaching a debut Champions League final.

Di Maria, meanwhile, has pedigree in the tournament. He was a key part of the Real Madrid side that won the trophy in 2014.
And last year he came close to saving Paris Saint Germain in their first ever final, putting centre back Marquinhos clean through on goal when PSG were a goal down to Bayern Munich.
Manuel Neuer blocked that one and Bayern held on to win. Earlier this month Di Maria gained revenge on Bayern in this year’s quarter finals. Now comes his moment to gain revenge on English football.
His relationship with England in general, and with then-United coach Louis Van Gaal specifically, was not a happy one. The 33 year old Argentine is entitled to the view that he was not treated with due respect.
Pundit and former star Graeme Souness, for example, criticised the end product of his solo bursts – an argument easily dismissed by the fact that Di Maria was the king of the assists in last year’s Champions League.
Souness went further, dismissing Di Maria as `a kidder.` The former Liverpool maestro, is, of course, fully entitled to his view.
But this one seems strangely perverse. It is surely absurd to believe that a kidder could have survived at the top level for so long, accumulating league titles in Portugal, Spain and France.
It would mean that Di Maria has been able to deceive a lot of quality people, including those who have been playing against him.

As well as his many achievements at club level, Di Maria has also had a considerable influence for Argentina – and especially on the career of Lionel Messi.
The biggest title that Messi can boast for his country is the 2008 Olympic gold medal, when Di Maria raced away to score the only goal of the final against Nigeria.
A few years later came those three finals lost in quick succession – the 1-0 defeat to Germany in the 2014 World Cup, and then losses to Chile after a penalty shoot out in the finals of the Copa America in both 2015 and 16.
Every time, the absence of Di Maria was crucial. In 2014 he scored the late goal that won the second round match against Switzerland, helped set up the only goal of the quarter final against Belgium, scored early by Gonzalo Higuain.
Soon afterwards he pulled up with a muscle injury and limped out of the competition. Argentina did not score another goal in the World Cup.
He limped out of the 2015 Copa in Argentina’s second game, and lasted less than an hour of the 2016 final before the injury curse struck once more.
The simple conclusion is that Messi has been most effective for Argentina when Di Maria has been on the field, opening up the pitch with his pace, closing down spaces with his spirit of sacrifice.

This perhaps sheds light on one of the striking characteristics of Angel Di Maria – an absence of ego.
He seems happy to do whatever the team needs, to operate as part of the supporting cast, be it to Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo or Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
He may be one of the most under-rated players of recent times – and Manchester City will under-estimate him at their peril.
