Cristiano Ronaldo’s amazing homes through the years, from humble start in Madeira to Turin villa boasting hillside views

THROUGH the years, as Cristiano Ronaldo has accrued an estimated wealth of £789million, he’s been able to splash out on luxury homes.
Life began for the Portuguese legend in a humble Madeira apartment, where he was raised and dreamed of football stardom.

    43

And when he achieved the almost impossible, his career path took him from Sporting Lisbon to Manchester United, Real Madrid, and now Juventus.
Of course, on superstar wages, he upgraded his lifestyle and bought these astonishing homes.
Here’s where the 35-year-old five-time Ballon d’Or winner has lived and currently resides.
    MADEIRA UPBRINGING
Ronaldo was born in Funchal and grew up in a modest home.

He shared a small room with his brothers and sisters, living a life a far-cry away from the one he lives today.
Back in 2019, Ronaldo reportedly visited his old home to show son Cristiano Jr where he came from.
“I was so excited for him to see where I grew up,” he told TVI.
“He went up with me and there were still some of the same people who had lived there at the time.

“I was moved, if I am honest, because I didn’t expect to see those people, and that touched me a bit.”

Humble Ronaldo used to sweep the streets of his neighbourhood
Ronaldo continued that Cristiano Jr, who is accustomed to a more lavish lifestyle, was shocked by the size of his dad’s former bedroom.
“My son turned to me and said: ‘Papa. Did you live here?’ He could not believe it.”
    MANCHESTER
From 2003-2009, Ronaldo starred for Manchester United.
And like most of his team-mates, he lived in the very exclusive Alderley Edge area.
The £3million mansion he called home for three of those years has five large bedrooms, his and hers dressing rooms with an en-suite, a huge garden and charming terraces.
The property also features an indoor swimming pool, steam room, jacuzzi, gym and cinema room.
When Ronaldo left the Premier League giants, he kept the property for a further nine years before finally listing it.

    MADRID
Following his then-record breaking transfer to Real Madrid for £80million, a more substantial property was needed.
He chose a stunning £4.8million abode in the expensive La Finca neighbourhood, designed by renowned architect Joaquin Torres.
The pad has both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, which Ronaldo used to regularly exercise in.
The home also includes a state-of-the-art gym, equipped with treadmills, a weights section and stretching zone, so Ronaldo could keep in shape at home.
Outside, the giant plot has a football pitch next to the outside swimming pool and relaxation area with sun loungers and chairs.
Ronaldo also had the door handles monogrammed with his initials.

    TURIN
    Another move, another new home.
In 2018, Ronaldo moved to Juventus. And he needed a house that was fit for the new king of Turin.
His current digs feature two adjoining villas found on a private road guarded by security, which leads to an entrance gate.
The villas themselves have separate entrances, and are surrounded by lush gardens and vegetation.
Ronaldo is believed to have fallen in love with the home because of its similarities with his Madrid property.
There’s a state-of-the-art gym that he and former shop assistant Georgina love to use together. And there’s also a swimming pool, which Ronaldo cools down in by doing a few laps following a strenuous session lifting weights.
The property is so high up, ‘it’s as if Turin were at the feet of CR7, a tribute of the city to the long-awaited and newly-arrived champion,’ La Gazzetta dello Sport reported at the time of purchase.

    THE HOLIDAY HOME
In 2019, Ronaldo reportedly spent £1.4million on a holiday home in the Costa del Sol.
The area the lavish house sits in is called ‘The Superstars Cul-De-Sac’ because of the number of famous residents who live there.
UFC star Conor McGregor is also believed to own a property nearby.
It’s got four bedrooms, high-vaulted ceilings and incredible views of the sea.
There’s a private golf course, the driveway is lit up by LED lights, private gyms, an in-built cinema and infinity pool.
What’s good for Conor is definitely good enough for Ronaldo.

    BACK TO MADEIRA
Home is where the heart is for Ron.
His seven-storey mansion in Funchal was finally finished last summer – four years after the former Manchester United No7 bought a warehouse and converted it into this luxury abode.
It is believed Ronaldo splashed around £7million to recover the dream home, with missus Georgina Rodriguez smitten by its incredible sea view, as well as its amenities including TWO Olympic-sized swimming pools, jacuzzi and a football pitch.
It’s not known how many bedrooms and bathrooms the property boasts, however there are four floors above ground.

A signed Juventus shirt was believed to be taken, as well as a number of small possessions. More

Man Utd’s best and worst and transfer deadline day deals, including Rooney, Berbatov, Falcao and Martial

MANCHESTER United are no strangers to the dance of transfer deadline day.
The Red Devils often dip into their cash reserves on the last day of the window and unveil a star signing.

    10

Edinson Cavani was signed by Manchester United on transfer deadline day

This year, Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles, Amad Traore, Facundo Pellistri and Willy Kambwala were all signed with hours to spare.
But who joined previously on transfer deadline day and how well did they do?
    WAYNE ROONEY
Throughout the summer of 2004, Rooney, then 18, was linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Finally, on the last day of the window, the Liverpool-born forward was unveiled for £27million.

And he would go on to become a legend for the club.
He scored a record 253 goals, and won five Premier League titles, the Champions League, Europa League and an FA Cup.
Roo was not just a brilliant deadline day signing, he probably could be United’s best ever.

    DIMITAR BERBATOV
The Bulgarian striker, a ringer for Ocean’s Eleven actor Andy Garcia, joined United for £31m in 2008.
Before the season began, Sir Alex Ferguson was quoted as saying he expected to sign Berbatov from Tottenham.
Spurs complained to the Premier League, saying United broke the rules and Berbatov was dropped for the opening month of the 2008-09 season.
Eventually, United got their man and he enjoyed his best season in 2010-11 – scoring 21 goals in 42 games.
    VERDICT: HIT

    RADAMEL FALCAO
On paper, United were getting a world beater.
Colombian forward Falcao was one of the most feared strikers on the planet, after starring at Atletico Madrid and then Monaco.
And when a loan deal with a view to a £44m permanent move was agreed, the fans were dancing on cobbled streets.
However, the move was a disaster for Falcao – who scored just four goals in 29 games for Louis van Gaal’s side.
It was no surprise that United didn’t exercise their right to buy him at the end of the loan but peculiarly Chelsea decided to take him the following season and, again, he flopped.
    VERDICT: MISS

    SAIDY JANKO
    Who?
In 2013, Manchester United raided Swiss club FC Zurich for the versatile right back and winger paying an undisclosed fee.
He was one of only three signings made by David Moyes during that transfer window.
However, he made just one appearance – an ill-fated runout against MK Dons that ended in an embarrassing 4-0 defeat.
Janko was loaned out for the rest of the season to Bolton months later, before he moved to Celtic a summer after he was signed.

    MAROUANE FELLAINI
Another Moyes signing of the summer of 2013, Fellaini joined from Everton for a fee in the region of £28m.
But in his first season the giant Belgium midfielder made just 15 league starts.
Many pundits labelled Fellaini one of the worst buys of the season, and although things picked up in his second campaign at the club, Fellaini was always a bit-part player.
It was no surprise to see him shipped off to China in 2019, where he now plays for Shandong Luneng.

    REGAN POOLE
There were high hopes for the Welsh centre-back when he signed for £100,000 from Newport County.
Shortlisted for the Football League Apprentice of the Year award in 2015, Liverpool handed him a trial a few months after.
But that summer he joined United.
Poole made just one appearance for the club, coming on as a last-minute substitute for Ander Herrera in a 5–1 win over FC Midtjylland.
After loans to Northampton Town and back to Newport County, Poole, still only 22, signed for MK Dons last year on a free transfer.

    DALEY BLIND
The Dutch defender joined Manchester United in 2014 for a fee of £14m.
But two months into his career in England he sustained a knee ligament injury, which kept him out of action for the rest of the year.
Something of a utility player, Blind played at left-back, centre back and in midfield.
In 2018, United cut their losses with the Holland international – selling him back to Ajax for £14m.

    ANTHONY MARTIAL
Eyes were raised in 2015 when United settled on a deal worth £58m for Martial from Monaco.
At the time, it was the highest fee paid for a teenager and a huge outlay for someone who had the potential to be an Old Trafford great, but was unproven.
Martial, 24, has since silenced doubters – becoming the focal point of the Red Devils attack.

Last season the French international enjoyed his most prolific season at the club – scoring 23 goals in all competitions.
With time on his side, he could be a very important player for United in years to come.

Meet Man Utd star Romero’s Wag Eliana, who blasted the club after his transfer to Everton fell through

SHOULD Man Utd star Sergio Romero need a new agent, he could look no further than his Wag.
The Argentine shotstopper, 33, reportedly had his heart set on a move to Everton on transfer deadline day.

However, the Red Devils are believed to have blocked the deal – and Everton signed Robin Olsen from Roma instead.
And that left Eliana Guercio, 42, furious. She immediately took to Instagram and demanded respect for her husband.
She wrote: “Last trophy they won, they lifted it with him. He helped the team reach 4 finals/semifinals and then he was left on the bench only to lose them all.
“It is time for them to return the opportunity and let him go. RESPECT FOR ONCE!!!!!”

But who is the fiery blonde sticking for her man?

Guercio believes United should have respected her man

    SHE’S GLAM
Over the years Eliana was a men’s lifestyle magazine staple, appearing in many underwear and bikini shoots in South America.
She has also starred on TV in Argentina – most notably in “Más que diferente”, appearing fully nude on the show.
Eliana and Sergio met in 2008 and instantly fell in love.

Within seven months, pair married – and they have three children together, Jazmin, Chloe and Meghan.
    RIHANNA
According to reports, pop star and football-fan Rihanna had a crush on Romero before the 2014 World Cup.

    12

Before the 2014 World Cup Rihanna reportedly revealed she fancied Romero

    12

Eliana didn’t feel threatened and said if Argentina win the World Cup she would lend Romero to Rihanna for a week
Any normal wife would have been horrified that the gorgeous singer may have declared an interest in their husband – but not Eliana.
She even joked that she would lend Romero to the Barbadian beauty, if Argentina won the World Cup!
“If we win the World Cup, I will let her have him for a week,” she said.
    NOSY NEIGHBOURS
Keeping in line with her tempestuous nature, Eliana wasn’t afraid to blast her neighbours in Manchester, who took offence to a playground installed in the backyard of their £2.8million home.
Neighbours believed it was an eyesore and distracted passing drivers because it was too big.
Eliana said she can’t understand what all the fuss is about.
She told Caras: “Where we put up the playground is part of our house, I don’t understand why the neighbours got annoyed.
“You can’t see the place where we put it, and besides, as soon as we put it up we went away for two months.

    12

Eliana has a fiery temperament as her neighbours can testify

    12

Neighbours were left fuming that a playground similar to this one was installed in the Romeros home

    12

Guercio snapped back and said the playground wasn’t an eyesore

    12

Eliana is not a woman to be messed with

“We came to Argentina, afterwards we went to the beach and afterwards when we returned, the girls went back to school.
“After 4pm, it’s already cold, so the girls don’t go out in the garden.”
Word of warning, this is one lady you don’t want to get on her bad side.

Man Utd’s No7 shirt curse was too big for Sanchez, but can Cavani fill the boots of Best, Beckham, Ronaldo and Cantona?

EDINSON CAVANI has joined Manchester United on a deadline day free transfer.
The Red Devils, after failing to land top target Jadon Sancho, are expected to hand the veteran Uruguayan, 33, striker their once-hallowed No 7 shirt.

Cavani – who left Paris-Saint Germain on a free transfer this summer – follows in the footsteps of Old Trafford greats like George Best, David Beckham, Eric Cantona and Cristiano Ronaldo.
But that has not proven a good omen in recent years with the likes of Memphis Depay and Alexis Sanchez crumbling under the pressure of its history.
For 50 years, the club’s icons bore that shirt with pride, and did it justice.
But since Ronaldo donned it for the final time in 2009, no one has dealt with the burden of expectation.

Here, SunSport takes a look back at the superstars to wear the hallowed shirt — and the sharp decline in success – starting with the two recent flops.

After four glorious seasons with Arsenal, Chilean star Sanchez appeared to be a no-brainer when United added him to their ranks for £32m.

And Robin Van Persie had previously shown that he could adapt from a move from North London.
However, Sanchez has been a major disappointment – a shadow of the player who ripped defences apart at the Emirates Stadium.
Just five goals in 45 appearances, he is deemed surplus to requirements – shipped out to Inter Milan on loan this season.

Memphis was immediately handed the No7 jersey by Louis van Gaal after signing for £25MILLION from PSV.
But, despite the hype surrounding his arrival, it was just constant disappointment for the Dutchman, and he left to join Lyon on loan after 12 months, which soon became a permanent deal.
Depay has rediscovered his form with the French giants, scoring 53 times in 134 games from the wing.
It’s a better return than the seven in 53 he managed with United.

In an era where shirt numbers were not assigned, Best donned it in 141 of his 474 games.
In 1966, he wore it in what is generally considered his greatest-ever performance, netting twice as United battered the great Benfica 5-1 in Lisbon — and against the  same opponents in the European Cup final two years later.

‘Captain Marvel’ was unlucky to play in a United side which failed to challenge for the title during the 1980s — and is the club’s longest-serving captain, who won 90 England caps.

Beckham provided vital assists in the Champions League quarter-finals, semi-finals and final in 1999 as United completed an incredible Treble.

Replaced Beckham and, at the tender of age of 18, was handed the most prestigious shirt at the club.
But Ronaldo thrived under the pressure and went from strength-to-strength.

In the whole of world football, only Lionel Messi would have been fit to fill the huge chasm left behind by Ronaldo in 2009.
Injury-prone Owen was nearly 30, had just been released by recently-relegated Newcastle and was only signed as back-up after United had missed out on Karim Benzema.
Highs included a last-gasp derby winner, League Cup final goal and Champions League hat-trick, but never came close to doing the No.7 shirt justice.

United’s 2011-12 Player of the Year was then handed the No7 shirt after three seasons wearing the No25 — and it was again worn by a right-winger.
However, while Sir Alex Ferguson led his men to a 13th title, Valencia endured without doubt his worst seasons at the club.
At the end of the campaign, he requested the No25 shirt again and there was no No7 during David Moyes’ reign.

United and English football’s then record signing at £59.1million.
Di Maria arrived from Real Madrid after a man of the match performance in the Champions League final, and initially looked a good signing.
But his form dipped drastically, and he became a liability. Sold to Paris Saint-Germain after just one season for £44m.

    DREAM WEDDING
Although Priscila keeps her personal life private, her wedding to Telles was like something out of a fairytale.

The pair exchanged vows in Caxias do Sul, where they were both born.
And it was a lavish church wedding at the São Pelegrino Church.

Violinist João Pedro Gregol played and sang at the occasion before Priscila walked down the aisle.
And at the wedding party afterwards, Telles serenaded his wife in song.
The full-back will be hoping that United fans take to him and serenade him with a tune or two.
