JAKE PAUL looks to be on the way to completing a stunning THREE STONE body transformation for his fight with Mike Tyson. The YouTuber-turned-boxer and heavyweight icon are to collide in a controversial clash on July 20 in Texas.Jake Paul has fought at 200lb his last two boutsCredit: GettyHe is now preparing to fight at heavyweight for the first timeJake Paul faces going up three stone from his lowest weightCredit: GettyThe YouTuber-turned-boxer has piled on the pounds, as these old pictures showCredit: Getty Images – GettyNot only will it mark Netflix’s first move into live boxing but it will also be Paul’s first fight at heavyweight. The lightest the American, 27, has weighed as a fighter is 183.6lb (13st 1lb) but his last two bouts have been at the 200lb cruiserweight limit of 14st 4lb.Tyson was a career heavyweight at 15st 7lb, meaning Paul has had to pile on the pounds to match that. And boxing legend Shane Mosley – one of Paul’s trainers in the past – hinted he is already there.READ MORE IN BOXINGMosley said YouTube channel: “I just saw Jake yesterday, he’s 230 pounds. He’s big, really big. He said he feels as fast as he does at 185lbs.”If Mosley is correct, then Paul has gone up to 16st 4lb, two stone heavier than his last fight. And it would be THREE STONE heavier than the 13st 1lb he scaled before losing to Tommy Fury, 24, last year. But rounds will be reduced to two minutes from the usual three and over eight rounds instead of 12, with 14oz gloves to be worn instead of 10oz.Mike Tyson’s controversial comeback Mike Tyson is BACK!
Yes, boxing’s youngest heavyweight champ of all time – just 20 when he achieved the feat – is preparing to lace them up again.
He faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul on July 20 in Texas.
The controversial clash – set for the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Dallas – has been scrutinised over the 30-year age gap.
Tyson will be 58 by the time the fight for the ages comes around and nearly 20 years removed from his last professional contest.
He was last seen in the ring in November 2020 for an exhibition with fellow legend Roy Jones Jr, which ended a draw after eight rounds.
Paul is meanwhile 9-1 in the ring, losing only to Tommy Fury in 2023, and has won three times since.
His fight with Tyson will also be a landmark first on Netflix, with over 250MILLION subscribers able to watch the bout. More

I won The Apprentice and £250,000… now I’m using Lord Sugar’s help to become boxing’s female Eddie Hearn

THE APPRENTICE winner Marnie Swindells is looking to become the female answer to Eddie Hearn with the help of Lord Alan Sugar. Swindells won the iconic BBC entrepreneurial programme last year and scooped the £250,000 cash prize. Eddie Hearn with Apprentice winner Marnie SwindellsCredit: Drip WaterSwindells won the iconic BBC entrepreneurial programme in 2023Swindells with Apprentice boss and business partner Lord SugarAnd she put Lord Sugar’s investment to good use by launching her own gym, Bronx Boxing Club in Camberwell, South London. Swindells first got the keys to her gym in 2019 but legal reasons prevented her from officially opening up till four years later. During that period, she raised £400,000 of her own money but needed an extra push – and that is when she looked Lord Sugar’s way. Swindells, 28, told SunSport: “As this was all happening I thought, ‘What have I got to lose?’READ MORE IN BOXING”So I put myself forward to go on the show, try and raise more money, expand the gym and thought, ‘Why not go for it?”That’s when I applied for the show with the hope of making – what I’d already created – bigger and better.”Swindells began boxing herself as an amateur at 17 and had eight bouts, twice winning the national Haringey Box Cup. But a lack of opportunities for women at the time KO’d her hopes of turning pro – and by then she had already found a passion for boxing outside the ring. Most read in BoxingShe said: “I love boxing and everything it stands for but boxing is an all or nothing sport.”As they say, ‘You can’t play boxing.’ And I don’t think as a fighter I loved it enough. This, now I’m here in this position I think this is what I was born to do.The Apprentice star Marnie opens new boxing gym with Lord Sugar”To facilitate, to make these spaces, I’ve found the bit that I was supposed to do in boxing.”Swindells graduated in history and politics at Goldsmiths University before qualifying as a barrister. But even after long days in court, she would always find herself back at the boxing gym until she got the idea to launch her own. And after going all the way in the 2023 series of The Apprentice, she invested the money into her Bronx Boxing Club. She has renovated the downstairs and upstairs, which was previously a vacated and “mice infested” nursery. But away from just owning the gym, Swindells has her eye on managing and promoting fighters. She revealed: “Even though women’s boxing has been on a massive trajectory itself the actual business side of boxing still remains quite untouched from a women’s touch.Swindells was a championship winning amateur boxingShe now has her eye on promoting boxingCredit: PASwindells opened the Bronx Boxing Club in 2023″There isn’t like a female promoter that you can name, a top female manager, a female Eddie Hearn or a female Ben Shalom.”So I would love to step into those shoes one day. I would love to take up the mantle.”Swindells has not yet revealed her plan to become boxing’s First Lady to Lord Sugar – but she thinks he will be on board. She said: “Well, I’ve talked about it a lot so he’s probably caught wind that it’s the direction I’d like to go into one day.”But I think it goes hand in hand with the growth of Bronx as a brand and the gym. “The more gyms we have, the more fighters we have, the more opportunities.”And ultimately that is the priority; the top priority is to get more sites, to get more people into boxing. “Promoting is something as I said, I think will come when the time is right.READ MORE SUN STORIES”When that time does come, I will have a conversation with him and by that point I think he’ll go, ‘Do you know what? Inside Floyd Mayweather’s gym where boxing legend trained in sweltering heat & forced sparring partners to arrive at 3am

FLOYD MAYWEATHER crafted the most iconic unbeaten boxing record of all time by training in sweltering heat in the middle of the night. He did so by training at all hours of the night, often as late as 3 am, and with the thermostat cranked up to a boiling 83 degrees (28 C).The Sun took a trip to the iconic gym and experienced firsthand just how hot the boxing club was.And according to Mayweather’s uncle Jeff, his nephew’s influence is so great that up-and-comers force themselves to train in the heat like their hero once did.”Well, that’s because that’s what Floyd used to do and everyone that comes to the gym wants to pattern themselves after Floyd. So they let the gym just heat up and I hate it!” Jeff told us.Mayweather, who officially retired in 2017 after beating UFC superstar Conor McGregor, prided himself on doing things his own way. And to gain a psychological edge he would train in the middle of the night while his opponents slept. So if you were on his training team it meant being on call at all times. Most read in Boxing”He trains some crazy times,” former world champion Badou Jack, 40, said.”I’m not sparring with him but we’d get a call in the middle of the night and he’ll say ‘Get to the gym, we’re working out.'”Ultimate boxing rich list including Anthony Joshua, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Deontay WilderNot even a night out on the Vegas town would get in the way of his sparring sessions. “Everything he does is different, he does his own thing,” 23-8 Denis Douglin, 35, remembers.”Floyd would go out to the club, finish at three o’clock in the morning and then go and train.”That was regular. It sounds crazy to the world but the man does what he wants, but he stays focused. He’s just on a whole different level.”Mayweather is so impromptu he would often challenge his sparring partners to box until one of them gave up. “Floyd said to me, ‘We’re going to turn the bell off and spar till somebody quits. I’m gonna make you quit,’ Douglin recalls.”I said to him, ‘Floyd, if you turn that bell off we’re going to spar for the rest of the day, because I’m not quitting.’A painting of Mayweather’s family and team members hangs on the wallCredit: The SunThe boxing legend has never been shy of showing off his beltsCredit: The SunPhones were banned when Mayweather was trainingCredit: The SunThe heat was cranked up to 83 degrees (28 C)Credit: The Sun”We sparred about 20-30 minutes straight, but we had to stop because Devin Haney was sparring after us.”If it wasn’t for that we weren’t going to stop – we’d probably still be sparring now.””We’re boxing, going back and forth, we did three or four rounds straight, but Floyd’s the type of guy to try and break you,” Daquan Mays, who is 5-1, added.”He’s looking me in the eyes the whole time, and I’m like this s*** is fun as hell.”We’re in like the third round and he’s like, ‘I ain’t tired, I’ll keep going, I don’t give a f***.”I was like, well I don’t give a f*** either. So he said, ‘Get the clock off, get the clock off, we going until you’re tired, until you’re done boxing’.”Me myself, I didn’t care, I wanted to see where I was at. We did 16 minutes, he gave me props afterwards and that was that.”Mayweather has a custom money-heavy bagCredit: The SunAnd he has a bag with all 50 of his wins recorded on itCredit: The SunMayweather’s gym is full of his favorite memorabilia with fight posters – all in chronological order – draping from the ceiling. There is also a poster of the five-division champ with the quote, “A true champion can adapt to anything.”On the entrance door of the gym are also strict instructions prohibiting phones in the gym whenever Mayweather was training. Failure to do so would see you kicked out of the gym and banned from coming back. But Mayweather is not often seen around the gym these days.He continues to box in exhibitions since hanging the gloves up, facing stars of the social media, MMA, and boxing world. His last was against the grandson of notorious mob boss John Gotti, which ended in a disqualification win last June after a brawl broke out in the ring. Mayweather continues to tease more money-spinning spectacle bouts, meaning there are rare cameos in the gym here and there. READ MORE SUN STORIES”He comes through every once in a while,” uncle Jeff revealed.”He doesn’t really train unless he’s got an exhibition or something going on like that. He’s in the gym sometimes to help other young fighters.” More
