Michael Schumacher won the British Grand Prix in 1998 in the car
Schumacher, 53, won all four races in this version of the F300.
The first victory came at the Canadian GP, followed by wins in France and at Silverstone. He then took the chequered flag in Monzo too.
However, that was not enough to win that year’s title as Schumacher was beaten by Mika Hakkinen.
The vehicle has the chassis number 187, a complete three litre V10 engine and 800 brake horsepower.

It was sold by Sotheby’s Auction House for £5,272,818 in Monterey, Mexico.
It becomes the fourth most expensive F1 car ever behind two other Ferraris driven by the seven-time world champion and a vintage Mercedes.
The third most expensive was Schuey’s car used in the 2002 Austrain Grand Prix where he was controversially allowed to overtake team-mate Rubens Barrichello on the last lap to win the race.
He went on to win the championship in the car.

In second place was Schumacher’s 2001 car used in the Monaco Grand Prix that hit the £6million mark.
It takes the total sales of legend’s F1 cars to £17million.
The most expensive ever sold is the 1954 Mercedes W196R driven by Juan Manuel Fangio as he won the title.
Schumacher himself has a £7million car collection that includes a rare Ferrari he drove in F1 worth £2.8million.
It was purchased for a staggering £24.5million.
Schumacher current health state is unknown following his skiing accident in 2013 but it’s reported his family is paying £115,00-a-week for special care. More

Man Utd and Chelsea target Aubameyang refuses to address transfer future after finding flat tyre on £260k Ferrari

PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG was asked about his future this morning – but was more bothered about the state of his car. The Barcelona star, who has been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United, had to deal with a flat tyre on his £260,000 Ferrari.

Aubameyang, 33, arrived at Barcelona El Prat Airport and was greeted by a number of reporters and fans.
He posed for selfies and signed autographs… but wouldn’t talk about transfer speculation.
The former Arsenal man walked back to his car, only to find one of his rear tyres looking flat.
He subsequently got behind the wheel of his Ferrari 812 to drive away from reporters.

But he didn’t get very far, appearing to have to stop because of his wonky wheel.
Chelsea are keen to bring Aubameyang back to London, reuniting him with his former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel in the process.
While SunSport this week revealed that Man United are also considering a move for the Gabonese star.
Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo claim that Aubameyang is happy to stay at cash-strapped Barca, having only joined them in January.

But fellow Spanish outlet AS reckon that Auba is one of three players, along with Memphis Depay and Sergino Dest, that Barcelona are willing to flog to fund a move for Manchester City star Bernardo Silva.
Silva appeared to say goodbye to City at the weekend, posting a thank you message to fans and walking a lap of the Etihad pitch.
But Pep Guardiola’s side so far won’t budge on their £84m valuation.

On Friday, Fury confirmed retirement, announcing he will NOT sensationally return to the ring.

Tyson Fury shows off stunning £300,000 Ferrari as boxing legend prepares to sign contract for Derek Chisora trilogy

TYSON FURY showed off his stunning £300,000 Ferrari as he prepares to sign a contract to fight Derek Chisora. Fury is a known car lover, owning a collection of luxury motors with his black Ferrari GTC4Lusso among his favourites.
Tyson Fury showed off his stunning £300,000 Ferrari
The Gypsy King posted the supercar onto his Instagram after confirming he will make a boxing comeback to face Chisora again.
He twice beat his heavyweight rival – in 2011 and then 2014 – before the pair later went on to enjoy a friendship.
But lately, the relationship has soured leading to talk of an unlikely trilogy bout between the two.
According to ESPN, the fight is targeted for December in Wales, where Anthony Joshua has twice headlined.

And it is claimed Goldstar Promotions – the company that handles Fury’s meet-and-greets across the UK – are behind the offer.
That is despite Hall of Fame pair Frank Warren and Bob Arum leading the WBC champion’s career in recent years.
It remains unknown if Fury is still contracted to Arum’s Top Rank stable or Warren’s Queensberry Promotions.
The Gypsy King and Chisora always maintained they had a verbal agreement in place for a third fight together.

But after Chisora picked Joshua, 32, and Dillian Whyte, 34, to beat Fury, their friendship was no more.
It has led to recent back and forth between the two and Chisora, 38, demanded a contract be sent his way.
He said: “Tyson, stop talking s***e, mate. Phone mummy and daddy – mummy’s Frank Warren, daddy is f***ing Bob Arum.
“Tell them you want to hang out with me, OK? And send me the paperwork bitch.”
But Fury, 33, hit back: “I don’t need to speak to anybody.
“I spoke to your management team, we’re all good. Everything is sorted, looking good. Contract be over or a day or so.
“Peace out, you’re getting knocked out.”

Toto Wolff downplays Lewis Hamilton’s chances by claiming Mercedes are still miles behind F1 rivals Ferrari and Red Bull

TOTO WOLFF downplayed Mercedes’ chances of catching Ferrari and Red Bull – despite a recent upturn in form for Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. Mercedes endured a nightmare start to the season due to troubles with porpoising on the new car.
Lewis Hamilton, left, and George Russell, right, are improving as the season progressesCredit: EPA
They are yet to secure a win from 13 races this season and have just nine left to overtake their rivals.
However, a series of good results before the summer break – including five podiums in a row for Hamilton – has led to plenty more optimism around the Brackley-based Formula One team.
Red Bull lead the constructors’ championship on 431 points, with Ferrari second on 334 while Mercedes have closed the gap to sit third with 304 as they chase a NINTH title in a row.
But team principal Wolff is keeping a lid on expectations – especially after a series of Ferrari strategy blunders crippling the “dominant force” that is Charles Leclerc when he is on the correct tyres.
    READ MORE F1 STORIES
Wolff said: “I think we need to be careful that it’s not specific to Budapest [and] that we just landed in the perfect window.
“The other teams, Ferrari especially yesterday, complained about the tyre not being where it should have been.
“So, in my personal opinion, we’re still lacking to the front runners.
“You’ve seen that Leclerc on the right tyre is still a dominant force. But at least we were in the same race.

“Like I said before, I don’t want to say now suddenly we are right bang into the game and we can win races because I don’t think that’s the case.
“I think we landed it well in Budapest on Saturday, and we are reaping the results [in the race].
“But I don’t think we are close enough to Ferrari and Red Bull to really fight them as of yet, but lots of learning and it’s important to get it wrong also.”
Mercedes secured both men on the podium in Budapest last time out as Hamilton surged from seventh to second and Russell finished third after securing a maiden pole of his career and his team’s first of the season.
However, Max Verstappen extended his lead in the drivers’ title by taking the chequered flag despite starting tenth on the grid.
The reigning champ is now 80 points clear of Leclerc and looks on course to ease to back-to-back crowns.
F1 returns on August 28 with the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa.

How it’s feared Michael Schumacher will NEVER fully recover from ski crash as doc says ‘he won’t be like he was before’

MICHAEL Schumacher has not been seen or heard from for nearly nine years – and there are fears he could never fully recover from his horror ski crash.Mystery continues to loom over the 53-year-old racing legend’s health as his family keep a tight control of what information is released to fans.

Some fear Schumacher may never be the same again after his horrendous accident in December 2013 while skiing with his son Mick in the Alps.
He fell and hit his head – suffering a brain injury which left him a medically induced coma for six months.
And since being released home, there has been few concrete updates beyond his wife Corinna admitting he is “different”.
Many of his friends have said they hope he gets better and fans constantly urge the former Ferrari and Mercedes driver to “keep fighting”.
    READ MORE ON SCHUMACHER
Brain surgeon Erich Riederer believes the seven-time world champion may never fully recover from the accident, saying he was likely left in a “vegetative state”.
Speaking September 2020, the doctor – who is not directly connected with Schuey – gave his opinion on French television station TMC.
“I think he’s in a vegetative state, which means he’s awake but not responding,” he said.
“He is breathing, his heart is beating, he can probably sit up and take baby steps with help, but no more.
    Most read in Motorsport
‘I think that’s the maximum for him. Is there any chance of seeing him like he was before his accident?
    “I really don’t think so.”
Meanwhile in September 2017, former F1 driver Philippe Streiff also warned that Schuey may never be the same again.
Streiff – who was left quadriplegic after a crash in preseason testing in 1989 – said it would be “difficult” for Schumacher.
“After a neurological accident, you always have hopes. But after more than three years, it’s probably more difficult,” he told The Daily Star.
“[I think] 100% recovering probably not, but anyways I hope he’ll return to the public eye for his fans.”
Schumacher’s management have previously hit back at Streiff and outright denied he knows anything about Michael’s condition.
    KEEP FIGHTING
But the former AGS driver insisted he was merely giving the “opinion” of someone who had also suffered a life-changing injury.
And one of Michael’s closest confidantes, ex-Ferrari boss Jean Todt, described the ace as living with the “consequences” of his accident in 2021.
Todt is understood to be one of the few people who regularly visits Schumacher.
But unlike some doubters, he has never given up hope that Michael could one day recover and see his fans.
Todt just last month spoke of how he still loves to watch Grand Prixs with Michael at his home.
The champ’s son Mick is now racing in the sport with the Haas team, with the 23-year-old never commenting on his dad’s health, but saying he would “give up everything” to chat to him about F1.
Todt and Schumacher have been pals for years, with the 76-year-old Frenchman being a key part of the Ferrari team that saw the German win five world titles from 2000 to 2004.

And he was reported to have been a regular visitor at the Ferrari and Mercedes racer’s bedside after his ski crash, with F1 champ Niki Lauda describing the pair as having a “deep and respectful friendship”.
“I don’t miss Michael, I see him. Yes, it’s true, I watch races with Michael,” Todt told German TV channel RTL.
“But sure, I guess what I miss is what we used to do together.”
The ex-FIA president previously told how he “hopes the world” will be able to see his dear friend again.
Schumacher’s close F1 pal Felipe Massa gave a brief insight into his friend’s condition in 2020.
He said: “I know how he is, I have information. The main thing about all this is that we know his situation is not easy.
“He is in a difficult phase but we need to respect him and the family.”
Cryptic comments by Schumacher’s former Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo in February 2016 sparked further speculation about the racer’s condition.
He told reporters: “I have news and unfortunately it is not good. Life is strange.”
And in one promising comment, controversial F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone hinted that Michael could once again return to the public eye.
He said: “He is not with us at the moment. But when he gets better, he’ll answer all the questions.”
Michael is one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time, dominating the sport in the early 2000s after rising to power in the 90s.
He raced from 1991 to 2006, and again from 2010 to 2012 – a second act of his career which saw him become instrumental in setting up Lewis Hamilton’s dominant Mercedes team.

The German won five world championships with Ferrari and two for Benetton.
Schumacher retired in 2012, but just a year later he was involved in the life-changing ski crash. More

But as the race wore on, Leclerc was told to pit and his team made the strange decision to put the hard tyre on his car.
Verstappen then breezed past the Monegasque driver as Leclerc struggled for grip – with the Ferrari man eventually finishing down in sixth.
Verstappen won the race, with Mercedes duo Hamilton and Russell coming home second and third respectively.
And prior to the podium presentation, the three of them had a chuckle at Ferrari’s expense as they tried to get their heads around the failed strategy.

He said: “I felt very strong and very comfortable on the mediums.
“I wanted to stay out and I don’t know why I was called in. I was confused by that.
“Everybody will remember the last part of the race where it was a disaster for me, especially the hard [tyres] – that’s why I lost the race, basically.”
Ferrari’s in-race tactics have repeatedly cost them points so far this season.
And the Scuderia are now drifting out of contention in both championships.
Verstappen leads Leclerc by a mammoth 80 points in the drivers standings heading into the four-week summer break.
And Red Bull also boast a 97-point advantage over Ferrari in the constructors championship. More

Ferrari won’t end 14-year F1 title drought because they’re TOO NICE – Leclerc and Sainz must be ruthless like Schumacher

FERRARI have a real problem. And it’s that they are too nice. The Italian team are without a Formula One championship for 14 years and, despite having two great drivers in Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz – and the quickest car on the grid – that looks like it is going to roll over for another season.
Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are talented and driving the quickest car on the grid – but they’re not ruthless enough to win Ferrari an F1 championshipCredit: Rex
Ferrari legends like Michael Schumacher and Niki Lauda possessed a ruthless streak that helped the Italian side win so many F1 world titlesCredit: Getty – Contributor
Leclerc’s mistake while leading Sunday’s French GP was inexplicable. His apology afterwards was commendable.
In fact, it is impossible not to like the charming 24-year-old, who lost his father at a young age and his close mate Jules Bianchi.
Sainz too. The whole of the paddock was thrilled to see the likeable Spaniard win his first GP at Silverstone. But that shouldn’t be the case.
Ferrari drivers need to have talent but they also require ruthlessness, as seen in the likes of Michael Schumacher and Niki Lauda.

Schumacher’s unbeaten F1 Ferrari is for sale – and it costs a FORTUNE
Ferrari drivers should be feared but with these two, I wonder whether their rivals see them as being a bit soft.
At the top too, Mattia Binotto, the team boss, is also a nice bloke and huge improvement on the previous Ferrari chief, Maurizio Arrivabene.

But as we all know, nice blokes finish last – or maybe in this case, simply not first.
Leclerc took the blame for crashing out in France. He also put his hands up to losing seven points when he spun at Imola back in April and lost a couple of places.

But the real problem is not his two errors but the fact the team as a whole have been the masters of their own failure.
Strategic cock-ups cost Leclerc a win in Monaco and at Silverstone, while mechanical failures were to blame in Spain and in Baku.
He then took a grid penalty in Canada due to that engine failure in Azerbaijan – the same race teammate Sainz was also forced to retire with a hydraulic issue.
Sainz has been the victim of mechanical issues too, while his victory at the British GP was almost bungled by Ferrari’s strategy to swap their drivers around.
After their latest failure to finish on the podium, it was bewildering to hear Binotto saying his team “had a good performance”.
Can you imagine Red Bull’s Christian Horner or Merc boss Toto Wolff saying that after one of their drivers’ crashed out and the other was forced to come from the back of the grid due to engine penalties?
Maybe I am being harsh, after all Binotto had originally set out his target NOT to win the title but to be “competitive”.
A month ago he said: “It would be completely wrong to turn that into: ‘Let’s try to win the championship because we are so competitive’.” And that’s the real problem.
He’s tried the nice approach but if Ferrari are to be more than just “competitive”, they need to buck their ideas up in every department.
And for that to happen, Binotto needs to get mean.

    AU REVOIR!
SUNDAY’S French GP is the last for the foreseeable future.
Here’s is a list of all the things I will miss about it…

    MERCEDES ENDS
POOR old Romain Grosjean must have been watching Sunday’s race wondering whatever happened to his promised drive in Lewis Hamilton’s 2020 Mercedes.
You’ll remember the Frenchman was offered the opportunity to drive it following his fiery smash in Bahrain, which ruled him out for the rest of that season.
Merc boss Wolff made the generous offer, but so far that special moment has never materialised.
But don’t feel too bad for the Frenchman – who keeps on banging on about it on YouTube – he’s just bought a £4million home in Miami.

    GIVE IT A RESTA
PAUL DI RESTA was not too impressed with fellow Scot David Coulthard’s questions to Max Verstappen after the race.
The Sky F1 pundit was heard giving an exasperated “stop talking” as DC continued grilling the race winner.
Meanwhile, Nico Rosberg’s exile from the F1 paddock continued as he was part of the channel’s coverage from his home just down the coast in Monaco.

    MAT A BOY
MATEO GARCIA is set to take the British Karting Championships by storm – not bad for a six-year-old.
The racer will fly over to the UK every three weeks to compete in the Bambino IAME series from his home in Mexico City.
While most six-year-olds are into cartoons on TV, Mexican racer Garcia says he is committed to his goal to be F1 world champion.
“I am going to be world champion. I was two years and eight months old when I rode my first motorbike”, he told me via a Zoom call last week.
“I drove my first go-kart when I was two years and nine months old.”
He’s achieved considerable success at home and has become an Ambassador of the Mexican Grand Prix.
And despite his age, he is already pushing for his parents to enrol him in the next level and move up to the cadet karting championship.
He added: “My friends say I am crazy because of my overtaking. They probably don’t believe it.”
Unsurprisingly, his hero is countryman Sergio Perez and says he wants to drive for Red Bull.

    MARC-ED IMPROVEMENT
MARC MARQUEZ has stepped up his recovery from his arm operation and is set to start physiotherapy.
The MotoGP ace underwent an operation last month in America after scrapping the rest of this season in a bid to be fit for 2023.
It is his latest in a series of set-backs but he is hoping after four operations on his arm and some extensive rehabilitation he will be back on the grid.
He said: “We have taken an important step in the recovery process.
“In this second check-up, the doctors have confirmed that the humerus is consolidating correctly, with this we can start physiotherapy on the right arm and cardio training.
“I am very excited to be able to recover mobility in my arm to continue advancing the recovery process and I want to thank the entire medical team for their treatment and attention.”
