As Wolves players entered the Hawthorns ahead of kick-off, Matheus Cunha and Jose Sa were left in hysterics.
The Brazilian forward pointed out to the goalkeeper that there was a huge picture of Dawson on the tunnel wall.
Sa was left startled as he stopped to take a photo of it on his phone.
Fans found it hilarious, one said: “That’s going straight to the WhatsApp group.”

Another added: “Just know Dawson is getting terrorised later by Sa.”
    A third laughed: “Great s***housery.”
Wolves centre-back Dawson was on the other side of the rivalry from 2010 to 2019.
He played 225 times for the Baggies prior to his spells at Watford and West Ham.

    Fan violence
Wolves had not played West Brom in front of supporters since 2012 and a hostile atmosphere was expected at the Hawthorns.
Tempers flared throughout the game but it boiled over after Matheus Cunha made it 2-0 after 78 minutes, allegedly due to Wolves fans in the home end.
Fights kicked off in the corner of the West Stand and Birmingham Road, while objects were thrown in other areas of the ground.
Fans spilled onto the pitch and the police rushed over to the main incident.
Players remained on the pitch for some time with a handful of Baggies players helping their families sat nearby move away from the violence.
The referee eventually sent both teams into the dressing rooms before they reappeared to finish the game 38 minutes after the violence begun.
Police said six arrests were made and a man is in hospital with head injuries.
West Brom have vowed to work with cops and the FA to find the yobs and they said, “any individual involved in the disorder will be subject to a club ban”.
Wolves added: “Safety and security are of the utmost importance, and the behaviour of those involved is dangerous and inexcusable.
“We will be investigating these serious incidents and appropriate action will be taken.”
West Brom boss Carlos Coberan said: “Unfortunately the game was interrupted by this incident and now we are unable to talk about the atmosphere our fans created, we can’t talk about this aspect.
“Everything before the incident was unbelievable, between both clubs it was very special. Incidents like that we need to avoid.”
Wolves gaffer Gary O’Neil said: “Obviously it’s really disappointing. Anybody that wants to come to watch a football match should feel safe.
“Young children or elderly people could be in that area and we shouldn’t have to discuss incidents like this.
“They shouldn’t happen and I hope everyone’s safe and there are no serious injuries and there are no lasting effects.”

In an old gold shirt yesterday, Dawson put in a solid performance as Wolves kept a clean sheet in a feisty derby.
Gary O’Neil’s side will now play at home against Brighton in the fifth round.

    Blackburn vs Wrexham preview
In a fourth round with one or two upsets, this fixture looks a prime candidate for another.
Wrexham are over 30 places below Championship Blackburn heading to Ewood Park.
But the Hollywood-backed Dragons are aiming to be in amongst this sort of fixture in the not-too-distant future and will want to apply themselves well to prove it here.
They sit five points off Stockport having played a game less than their title rivals, averaging two goals per game (54 in 27) in the process.
They did lose to Newport – who put up a terrific fight against Manchester United – last time out having gone down to 10 men inside 18 minutes.
But Blackburn have only won once in their last nine games – that coming against Cambridge in the last round of this competition.
Set pieces could be key tonight. Blackburn have the worst record in the Championship at defending them, with Wrexham scoring the most goals from set pieces in their division.
    Blackburn vs Wrexham odds

Odds are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change.
    Blackburn vs Wrexham betting tips
    Mullin the Main Man
Elliott Lee has been excellent for Wrexham this season and currently leads the way as the club’s top scorer.
But knowing Wrexham and Paul Mullin, he’ll want to be the main man on occasions like this.
It was a toss up between the pair and one of the big men at the back for first scorer given how poor Blackburn are at defending set pieces.
But the price boost from Ladbrokes on Mullin to open the scoring is too good to turn down.

Paul Mullin to score 1st with Ladbrokes at 15/2 – CLAIM HERE

    Dragons to fly
The TV cameras, a Monday night, the large traveling support.
It’s all set up as almost an expectation of an upset unfolding here.
Maybe we’re being drawn into it too but it has all the makings of being a really good cup tie.
And you can’t beat that winning feeling going into these games, one which Blackburn’s players might not be overly relishing.

    Caution
James McClean will be a big player for Wrexham tonight, of that there is no doubt.
He’ll also be the pantomime villain and has beaten Blackburn six times in the 11 games he’s played against them.
He’s also been booked five times against them in his career. Couple that with the fact he’s been booked in three of his last four games and 15/8 looks incredible value.

I scored a stunner in Maidstone’s stunning FA Cup giant-killing… 24 hours later I’m back to my day job as minibus driver

LAMAR REYNOLDS has become English football’s most famous minibus driver.Less than 24 hours after playing a huge part in one of the truly magnificent FA Cup shocks, Reynolds was back at work — ferrying around young adults with autism for a day of activities in East London.

The fact Reynolds, 28, often also has to work on some midweek matchdays was a timely reminder of the enormous gulf between Maidstone of National League South and Ipswich.
Town are second in the Championship and with hopes of promotion to the Premier League under bright young manager Kieran McKenna.
With 22 of the 24 National League clubs now professional, you have to dip down to tier six to find the traditional non-league players who have to work to top up their part-time wages.
TV companies have been rightly criticised this season for ignoring some of the smaller clubs in the FA Cup.
    READ MORE ON MAIDSTONE
But the BBC were rewarded for sending their cameras to Portman Road as Maidstone became the first club from their level to reach the fifth round since Blyth Spartans in 1978.
And they will visit another Championship side next after being drawn to face Sheffield Wednesday or Coventry — who face a replay after drawing 1-1 on Friday.
Reynolds — a summer arrival at Maidstone from Braintree — had not even scored a goal this season before putting his team ahead just before half-time with a superb chip.
Knowing he was due a heroes’ reception when reporting to work yesterday, he said: “I work for a company that provides social support work. It is called Links Support Solutions in Gants Hill.

“I work there once or twice a week. I am a driver. If we have a game on a Tuesday I will probably do it in the mornings.
“They are young adults with autism so I take them to events like live wrestling, maybe a basketball game.
“They are just young local lads and a lot of them will have watched this game.
“At Maidstone, a lot of the players do football coaching as jobs while a few have their own little business.”
But boss George Elokobi was not going to have any of his players using that as an excuse.
Reynolds added: “Our gaffer put it in our heads that we had to believe. Anything can happen and you can see that in the FA Cup. Playing a tough team like Ipswich, Premier League-bound, our belief was still strong.
“I work there once or twice a week. I am a driver. If we have a game on a Tuesday I will probably do it in the mornings.”Lamar Reynolds
“Before the game, the boss spoke about believing and trusting in each other, knowing we are all capable of winning the game. We did the analysis and the belief was there.”
Stones keeper Lucas Covolan made some key saves to keep his team in it before Reynolds raced on to a pass from Liam Sole and delivered a sublime finish over home keeper Christian Walton.
Jeremy Sarmiento did level for Ipswich on 56 minutes but Stones showed major cajones ten minutes later as Reynolds set up Sam Corne’s winner.
Jamaica-born Reynolds has spent much of his career at Essex non-league clubs like Thurrock, Brentwood, Concord Rangers and Braintree before crossing the border into Kent with Maidstone.
And he said: “I would wait another ten seasons for a goal like that. It felt so special.
“It is funny as I share a room with Liam Sole on away trips and, when we spoke about the game on Friday, we said we would do an assist for one of us to score — and it happened.
“Now, we are in the round of 16. Who would have thought? It sounds ridiculous.”
Maidstone defender George Fowler, who started his career at Ipswich, said: “I was there from 12 to 19 but never got to walk out in a first-team game. I was very proud to do that here. My friends and family all still live around here.”
As for Ipswich, after a hugely impressive season, they are suffering a bit of a wobble.
They have now just won two of their last nine games.
Midfielder Sam Morsy said: “There was not much to like about our performance.
“We had 38 shots and if you don’t score more than one goal, the game will be in the balance.

Man Utd ratings: Luke Shaw stands out in first game for a month but Hojlund has a tough day against League Two Newport

MANCHESTER UNITED survived a scare to reach the FA Cup fifth round – thanks to Luke Shaw and Alejandro Garnacho. But Rasmus Hojlund was not at the races despite adding a late goal with a chance he could not miss.

Shaw and Garnacho provided the threat for United and they cut through Newport with ease, particularly in the opening stages.
Bruno Fernandes fired the Red Devils in front before Kobbie Mainoo made the game even more comfortable – with United threatening a thrashing after just 13 minutes.
Few would have predicted what was to come next as League Two Newport mounted a valiant comeback.
Bryn Morris’ long-range strike was deflected in before former dairy farmer Will Evans struck at the near post just after half-time to equalise.

Erik ten Hag’s side have folded from such a position on more than one occasion this season but they regrouped and showed composure to get back on top.
Shaw was again the architect as he waltzed into the box before unleashing a curling effort with his weaker foot onto the post – fortunately for United Antony was on hand to gobble up the rebound.
The 12-time FA Cup winners added a fourth late on after Garnacho cleverly fed Mainoo through on goal, his effort was stopped but Hojlund followed up and slotted into an empty net.
Newport put up a valiant effort despite the differences in league position
Hojlund scored with his one shot – an open goal
Here is how SunSport’s Kealan Hughes rated United’s FA Cup display at Rodney Parade.
    Most read in FA Cup
    Altay Bayındır – 5
The debutant could do nothing about County’s first goal as the ball was diverted beyond his reach by Martinez’s deflected header.
He could have been more aggressive in coming out to stop the second as he had no chance of stopping Evan’s strike once he made connection on the cross.
Showed what he is capable of as he leapt brilliantly to tip a late long-range effort over the bar.
    Diogo Dalot – 5
Picked out Mainoo with a good cross for the midfielder to double United’s lead.
But he left acres of space on the left flank in the build-up to Newport’s equaliser and got nowhere near stopping the cross that led to the goal.
    Raphael Varane – 4
Lost track of his runner Will Evans who beat him to the cross to steer in Newport’s equaliser.
Looked cumbersome at times and United’s backline looked weak and vulnerable.
    Lisandro Martinez – 5
Was slightly unfortunate to divert Bryn Morris’ long-range effort into the back of his own net.
He was not much better than his centre-back pairing but has spent a lot of time out injured recently.
    Luke Shaw – 8
United’s left flank was devastating in the first half and he played a key role as his pass fed Antony who supplied Fernandes.
Linked well with Garnacho and it was his lovely right-footed curler which fell to Antony to score after the ball came back off the post.
    Casemiro – 5
Showed some signs of rustiness after returning from a lengthy injury lay-off but his quality was also clear to see with some clever passes in midfield.
However he was slow in transition and afforded Newport’s attackers far too much time and space in the Red Devils half.
    Kobbie Mainoo – 6
Took his first professional goal with class as he turned home Dalot’s cross into the bottom corner with pinpoint accuracy.
Kept things ticking over in midfield but like Casemiro he allowed his opponents too much space at times.
    Bruno Fernandes – 6
Took his goal brilliantly as he drilled the ball low and hard beyond goalkeeper Nick Townsend – a chance many others would have skied over the bar.
Was effective on the break and linked well with Garnacho.
    Antony – 6
Much livelier than he has been recently and made the most of his freedom to roam in the attacking final third.
Was in the right place at the right time to rebound Shaw’s effort into the back of the net.
    Alejandro Garnacho – 7
The youngster was electric in the first half and combined well with Fernandes and Antony in particular.
He came close to scoring when he smashed the crossbar from inside the box but was a little selfish at times and did not always pick the right pass.
    Rasmus Hojlund – 4
Was barely involved but he did tee up Fernandes for a chance the captain should have buried not long after Newport equalised.
He had no shots at all until hitting United’s fourth late on, firing into an empty net.
Largely ineffective and will need to improve against Wolves on Thursday.

    Subs
Scott McTominay (for Casemiro, 82 mins) – 6
Provided energy late on to maintain pressure on Newport, resulting in the fourth goal.
Willy Kambala (for Shaw, 82 mins) – 6
Had little to do but will be pleased to get more minutes under his belt. More

Klopp announced on Friday he was quitting Liverpool at the end of the season after nine years and got a rousing reception today before his side ran out 5-2 winners over Norwich City in the FA Cup.
Klopp said: “The atmosphere and people showing everything to me was wonderful, I loved it, great.
“I am not saying don’t do it anymore, people can do what they want but we need the atmosphere on the pitch.
“For that we need the crowd not to think about the manager.

“We have to forget about it for a while and go for each opponent like crazy and the next chance to do that comes on Wednesday against Chelsea.”
Klopp, 56, did admit that he had to “pull himself together” after an outpouring of emotion from the stands that firstly saw him sit taking in the scene of the Kop belting out ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ before the game, with that followed by a rendition of ‘I’m so glad that Jurgen is a Red’.
He said: “It’s emotional but I have to pull myself together. I received all the messages. I’m not made of wood.”
While the manager wants it to be about the players it is clear the players want success this season to be for the manager.

They are still in four competitions. They lead the Premier League, are in the final of the Carabao Cup and now have a home tie against either Watford or Southampton in the last eight of the FA Cup as well as the Europa League knockout stages to look forward to.
Liverpool’s fit again Andy Robertson said the players were in shock when Klopp announced his decision to quit at the end of the season and now they want to make sure he has a fitting send off.
And it was a tremendous way to start his farewell tour with a convincing thumping of Norwich.
Klopp said: “Norwich scored some wonderful goals and our goals were wonderful too. We played good from the beginning and obviously were in charge.
“I think four of our five goals were set up by players from the academy so that is cool, so there were a lot of positives about the game.”
Of those, Klopp made a special mention of Curtis Jones.
The 22-year-old has come through the ranks to establish himself as a first team player and opened the scoring with a well placed header.
Klopp said: “He is super important in different departments. He is a very good player and a role model for our academy players.
“All the players who come through the academy are good players. But if Curtis Jones can defend, everyone can learn defending and I mean with the high press and his intensity which sets the rhythm for us.” More

It was easy to forget what the ultimate goal of this afternoon was about.
Really it was Anfield beginning the long farewell to one of their own.
A man who put them back on their perch with the Premier League title and Champions League.
So ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ was belted out with extra gusto on this occasion.

As it was Jurgen Klopp sat on the Liverpool bench with his head down trying to hold back the tears, many in the crowd struggled to do the same.
To witness this adulation you wonder why anyone would want to walk away from it.
From this club, from the work and foundations he has put down to achieve the success he has and now leave for his successor.
But when that bombshell announcement came on Friday that he was leaving at the end of this season he looked, quite simply, knackered.

This great football club can give so much, but goodness me the enormity and emotion of it all can take it away too.
It was golfer Nick Faldo who once famously referred to ‘Life Energy’ and how we all have only so much.
He believed the effort in overhauling a five shot deficit to beat Greg Norman for his third Masters in 1986 and sixth and final Major finished him.
The intensity of the challenge that has faced Klopp with Pep Guardiola down the road has done for him too.
It was perhaps fitting that he was facing his old Mainz team-mate and best man at his wedding David Wagner on this occasion.
Ahead of kick-off they were chatting in the tunnel, Klopp resting against the wall.
As he walked down the tunnel after his players he looked like a weight had been taken off his shoulders and he was wondering how to move without it.
He was desperate to emphasise in TV interviews before kick-off that his announcement has been made and now it is back to work.
Nah, that can’t be how it is viewed going forward.
The bizarre timing of the announcement means that every game, every result will be judged on the back of it.
Any emotion on the touchline will be seen as just posturing to prove that the old fire still burns as strong ever.
In truth his has gone out, you could tell that with his video to the fans on Friday.
It is up to the players he has given so much, now to drag him over the final finishing line.
A line that could have still more silverware waiting beyond it.
Let us remember the nine years have not exactly been prolific and a few more trophies would be welcome.
Three Champions League finals is admirable but he brought the trophy back to Merseyside just once.
Compare that to three out of three for Bob Paisley…why was he never knighted?
There is the one title, although there may come an asterisk alongside those 2018-19 and 2021-22 runners-up places if Manchester City lose in the footballing courts.
Chuck in an FA Cup, a League Cup, a World Club Cup and Super Cup and it’s a fair haul.
But it would be fitting to leave more in the Anfield trophy room.
There is a Carabao Cup Final to look forward to against Chelsea.
Liverpool peppered Norwich’s goal with 29 shots
The Reds dominated from start to finish
    Jones shone in midfield
They are now in the fifth round of the FA Cup, and there is the Europa League.
But really, only the title for the current leaders would be a fitting send off.
The importance of the FA Cup has long since diminished as the atmosphere in a rather subdued Anfield told us.
The lines-ups saw five changes to Liverpool and six for Norwich.
Wagner’s Canaries were poor opponents, constantly giving the ball away.
Liverpool took the lead on 16 minutes when Curtis Jones guided home a header from a fine ball in on his first start by 19-year-old James McConnell.
Norwich got a shock equaliser on 22 minutes when Gabriel Sara swung in a corner that glanced off Ben Gibson’s back and flew in.
Liverpool were back ahead on 28 minutes with Norwich sloppy.
Sam McCallum lost the ball on halfway on the left and Liverpool were off. Conor Bradley’s final ball found Darwin Nunez who drilled the ball home.
It was game over on 53 minutes when Gibson could only head on a long ball and Diogo Jota volleyed home.
Klopp made three changes during the second half and two of them combined to make it four with captain Virgil Van Dijk powering home a header from Dominik Szoboszlai’s corner.
Norwich pulled one back when a sub of their own struck the goal of the game with Dorja Sainz’s letting fly with a 25-yard screamer.
In Injury time Ryan Gravenberch headed home from close range to complete the afternoon’s scoring.
So Liverpool advance to face either Watford or Southampton back here at Anfield.
