Zinchenko, 26, came off the bench for the final 24 minutes as his side crashed out of the FA Cup 1-0.
And City’s stars approached their former team-mate after the final whistle.
Zinchenko won four Premier League titles, four EFL Cups and an FA Cup during his six years at the Etihad and was given a a standing ovation from City fans when he came on.

They crowded around Zinchenko, with Kyle Walker yanking on the Ukrainian’s ear and slapping his arm.
Walker also manhandled Zinchenko by lifting him up in a bear hug and dropping him to the floor, seemingly leaving the defender in some pain.
Ilkay Gundogan then appeared to cheekily slap him in the face.
Zinchenko seemed riled after speaking to Riyad Mahrez, while Ruben Dias and Joao Cancelo were seen laughing in his face.

Things appeared to end amicably when Zinchenko gave Walker his shirt before they hugged and walked down the tunnel.
But social media users suggested Zinchenko was being “bullied” by his old team-mates.
One account wrote: “City bullied Zinchenko like their little brother.”
Another said: “It’s being bullied, but it’s affection of old mates.”
A third wrote: “He’s getting lil bro’d so hard.”
And a fourth added: “Huge lil bro energy.”
Zinchenko himself appeared to take it all in good spirits, having initially appeared to lose his cool.
In an Instagram post on Saturday he played things down and said he “will always be glad to see” his former team-mates.
Zinchenko wrote: “Not the result what we came for but we will bounce back!
“There are no old friends – there are friends with whom there are many good memories and you will always be glad to see each of them.
“There is no past home – there is a place where you were very happy, and now you are happy to return.
“Thank you Etihad for the warm welcome! See you soon at Emirates, I hope you will have fun!”
Jack Grealish was quick to comment on Zinchenko’s post.
The England and City star wrote: “My brother no matter what! U deserve everything my guy.”

    Goodnight from Deepdale
That rounds off our coverage from tonight’s fourth round tie.
Despite what could have proved a tricky evening, Tottenham showed their quality and ended up coasting through, mainly thanks to Son’s return to form.
The North Londoners are into round five for the eighth time in nine years and will discover their opponents on Monday.
As for Preston, it’s back to Championship action against Bristol City on Saturday.
    Thanks for joining and goodnight.
    Stellini praises Son and Danjuma
Tottenham assistant Stellini, who does press duties for FA Cup games, was full of praise for the goalscorers.
“Sonny is a great player – we know. He has to wait for the right moment to find the space. He was very focused on the match. He had to wait for a right time to do a good job.”
“We’re looking forward to working with Danjuma. It’s a good start for him. He’s a good guy. He needs time to understand.”Cristian Stellini BBC
    No Kane no problem
Tonight was just the fifth time this season that Tottenham have managed to win a game without Harry Kane scoring.
The other four were Southampton, Bournemouth and Marseille x2.
Kane has been suffering from illness this week and was kept on the bench with Spurs cruising in that second half.
His wait to become the club’s all-time top scorer will have to wait until next weekend, but at least he’ll have the chance to do it in front of his own fans.

Son thrilled to be back in the goals
Son was delighted to get back on the scoresheet following a really difficult season up to now.
It’s always hard in the FA Cup, especially when you play away from home. I think first half we struggled a little bit because they were defending really deep but I’m glad I could help the team and we can now look forward to the next round.
I needed the goals for my confidence and it was really important. First half I had a couple of chances and the keeper made some good saves, but second half they went in. As a striker, I think you always need goals.”Son Heung-minBBC
    FT. Preston 0-3 Totteham
Here are the stats from a dominant performance overall from Conte’s team.
They struggled to show the quality needed in the first half, but from the moment Son curled home the opener, there was only ever going to be one winner.

But there’s a slightly delay for someone coming onto the pitch.
    87. Preston 0-3 Tottenham
Game, set and match to the visitors.
    And it’s a fine goal.
Bissouma does brilliantly to skip away from a couple of challenges before he’s fouled and Gil picks up the loose ball.
He then plays it wide for Kulusevski, who gets into the box and picks out Danjuma to stroke home his first Tottenham goal.
What a start for the debutant.

    87. Preston 0-3 Tottenham

    85. Preston 0-2 Tottenham
Son is given a standing ovation by the travelling faithful and is also named as man of the match by Alan Shearer for his two goals.

    84. Preston 0-2 Tottenham
Tottenham are pushing for a third, but a couple of shots are blocked and Son isn’t going to get a chance to score his hat-trick.
That’s because Conte makes his fourth change of the evening as the South Korean is replaced by Gil.
    80. Preston 0-2 Tottenham
Preston win a corner but Forster claims it.
Tottenham are just keeping the ball and running the clock down in the latter stages.

    78. Preston 0-2 Tottenham
Double change for Preston as Brady and McCann are replaced by Fernandez and Johnson.
Final throw of the dice by Lowe.

Royal, Skipp and Danjuma replace Doherty, Bentancur and Sessegnon.
    69. Preston 0-2 Tottenham
Son at the double for Tottenham and it’s another peach.
Tanganga drills a pass into Perisic, who flicks round the corner and into the path of Son.
And the winger turns his defender beautifully before firing into the top corner.

    69. Preston 0-2 Tottenham

    65. Preston 0-1 Tottenham
After a long spell of possession, Lenglet crosses over for Perisic, who guides a header towards goal.

After a good Preston response to the goal, Tottenham have control once again and have quietened down the crowd.
    62. Preston 0-1 Tottenham

Evans does well to beat three men before the ball falls for Whiteman in a good shooting position, but his curling effort can’t match Son’s and is wide of Forster’s post.
    60. Preston 0-1 Tottenham
Preston win a corner and it gets the crowd up but Brady hits the first man and they’re not happy with that.
The home side giving it more of a go now though.

Erik ten Hag has his say on Harry Maguire being Man Utd’s ‘fifth choice’ centre-back and urges England star to fight

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Erik ten Hag has had his say on claims Harry Maguire is the club’s “fifth-choice” centre-back.Maguire has seen his game time limited this season owing to the strong partnership of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.

Maguire could feature from the start against Reading this eveningCredit: Getty
The League Cup quarter-final against Charlton was the last time Maguire played significant minutes
When either of the pair has not played, the likes of Victor Lindelof or full-back Luke Shaw have been preferred in the position ahead of Maguire in some recent games.
But the United manager rebuked the claim of him being fifth in the pecking order and urged the England defender to fight for his place in the team.
He told reporters: “He’s not our fifth choice. Harry has to fight for his position and things can change — sometimes also really quickly.
“I think he is making progress and it’s up to him now.”
    READ MORE ON MAN UTD
Shaw missed the Carabao Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest and remains 50-50 for the FA Cup clash against Reading tonight.
This means Ten Hag has no natural left-sided centre halves asides from Martinez – who he will doubtless want to give a rest where he can.
This means Maguire could step back into the left-sided role despite being deployed more typically on the right this season.
Alternatively, Lindelof could simply be swapped into the left-sided role instead, though he prefers to play on the right side too.

Further up the pitch, compatriot Jadon Sancho is “improving” after returning to first-team training following a prolonged absence.
On the 22-year-old’s return, Ten Hag said: “He is training with the team & we will see [when he can return to play minutes].
“He’s improving, he’s making steps & we will make the decision after the training.”
Should he feature at all, Sancho will more likely see a cameo from the bench than from the start of the clash at Old Trafford. More

Why are Reading wearing red and blue striped sleeves against Man Utd?

MANCHESTER UNITED are in FA Cup action tonight as they face Reading in the fourth round. The Red Devils overcame Everton 3-1 to reach this stage but now they’re taking on a Championship side.

Reading beat Watford 2-0 to set up their exciting visit to Old Trafford.
The former Prem side haven’t been on TV a lot this season, but tonight they’ll be live and direct on ITV4.
And fans may notice that the Reading shirts’ sleeves are donning a jazzier than usual red and blue striped pattern.
Traditionally, the entirety of previous Reading home shirts have been white and royal blue hoops.
Why are Reading wearing red and blue striped sleeves?
Reading’s home kit for the 2022/23 season was created by University of Reading’s Professor Ed Hawkins, a climate scientist.
The striped sleeves on Reading’s shirt are meant to represent the rise in average temperatures over the last 150 years.
The top of the sleeves show predominantly blue stripes, signifying that temperatures used to be chillier.
Towards the bottom of the sleeve, the stripes become red, showing that the planet is getting warmer.

Reading have partnered with the University of Reading in an effort to alter their impact on the environment.
The kit is made entirely of recycled bottles and the garment itself is completely recyclable.
The stripes also feature on climate activist Greta Thunberg’s book ‘The Climate Book’, as well as on numerous buses across Reading.
A win for either side tonight would put them into the fifth-round draw, set to take place on Monday.
But if the game finishes in a draw, the game will be forced to go to a replay. More
