Wright and Clifton initially met in 2009 when the fallen ex-Gunners academy star featured on the Arsenal legend’s ‘Football Behind Bars’ show as he served a prison sentence in a young offender’s institution.
But under Wright’s guidance – Clifton’s gone from a football reject into a FA Cup hero with the non-league side who have cruised into the FA Cup fifth round where Everton await – after disposing of AFC Wimbledon and Bournemouth in the previous rounds.
And while Keane and Wright were commentating on Liverpool’s 3-1 FA Cup win over Cardiff – the pair were shown Wright’s interaction with Clifton after his career turn-around.
After watching the moving footage -Keane – who was visibly touched by emotion admitted: “Brilliant, very powerful. Great story, well done, Wrighty.
“You gave him a bit of hope. Brilliant stuff. Absolutely brilliant.”
Former Man United hardman Keane has built a reputation for himself over the years for his no-nonense approach on and off the pitch.

As a pundit Keane’s launched a number of scathing attacks on players for a range of reasons including poor performances and showing bad attitudes.
Not even stars at the Irishman’s former club United have escaped his ruthless wrath in recent times.
Earlier this month, Keane brutally ripped into the Red Devils and claimed the squad lacked ‘leadership and character’ after they crashed out the FA Cup to Middlesbrough.
But Sunderland’s crop of stars will be hoping Keane can mentor them the same way Wright has Clifton.

And he is now being tipped as the frontrunner to succeed Lee Johnson following his sacking. More

Humble West Ham hero Declan Rice showers with Kidderminster team moments after dumping them out of FA Cup

RUSSELL PENN revealed Declan Rice showed his class by sharing a SHOWER with the Kidderminster Harriers team moments after they came close to dumping him out of the FA Cup.David Moyes revealed last week it would take much more than £100million to tempt West Ham to part with their 23-year-old England star.
Rice helped end Kidderminster’s FA Cup dreams with his late equaliser for the Hammers who went on to win the game
But Rice showed his class by showering with the sixth-tier National League North side after the game – their boss Penn revealedCredit: AP
However, the humble Hammer proved he was no pampered prima-donna by joining his Harriers opponents to share their home dressing-room showers.
Even though the sixth-tier National League North side came within seconds of pulling off the greatest FA Cup shock of all time before Rice struck to get the Hammers out of soapy-bubble!
Harriers boss Penn revealed: “West Ham have been great. I’ve got a couple of shirts and their kitman has been excellent.
“Declan Rice has showered with our lads.
“I don’t know if I’m allowed to say that. But it’s things like this that will live in their memories.
“Their showers are really small so they’ve mixed with ours.

“Declan Rice is a great, great pro and he’s one of the best in the world at the moment, and you could see that. He was excellent.
“He changed the game, for me, with his energy and his bounce and his power. They played 10 yards higher up the pitch with him on and it was tough.
“They’re a good group. We wish them all the best in the Premier League, Europe and the FA Cup.
“David Moyes is a top man. We spoke before the game and at the end he just said, ‘you didn’t deserve that’ and then the media took over.
“He’s a top man and he’s paid us a lot of respect and I can only thank him for that.
“He made five changes he probably didn’t want to make and we made him do that. I take great pride in that.
“The way they wanted to manage the game would have been to win it in 60-70 minutes and not use Declan Rice because they’ve got a big game on Tuesday.”

    Boreham manager reacts
Boreham manager Luke Garrard feels like he’s “on top of the world” after his team’s shock FA Cup victory over Bournemouth.
Garrard told ITV: “I am in tatters. I am on top of the world, the emotions at the minute are incredible.
“We rode our luck. I tell my boy every Sunday to be a good team player. That is what we did. I am going to get emotional, they are unbelievable these boys.
“To a man, staff, people in the boardroom that is for them. It was the last 10 for me, the headers.
“It is just amazing. I thought they were going to hit us for eight, this hasn’t registered with me at all.
“I love Frank [Lampard], Ashley Cole (Everton coach) is the best left-back Arsenal ever had. To be able to pit my wits against them, it hasn’t sunk in yet.
“I was buzzing when we scored the goal and I would have been content to lose 3-1 but to do that was just incredible”
Cooper reacts after FA Cup triumph
Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper praised his players after eliminating FA Cup holders Leicester.
Cooper said: “It was a good day, for sure. A great result obviously, but a performance to match.
“I thought first half we were excellent from an attacking point of view, obviously scoring three and creating one or two other chances. Dare I say it, we could have scored more in that first half.
“A little bit disappointing to give them one back, but I like the fact it didn’t upset our rhythm or momentum. You can easily lose a bit of focus when things like that happen, but we didn’t, so that’s a good sign of mentality and concentration.
“Second half was always going to be a little bit of a different game in terms of us being a bit deeper, but stuck to the plan, minimised any real threat from them and looked a threat ourselves.
“Just a really pleasing day – one for the supporters. We get attendances like this all the time and they really get behind us, so days like today really help the connection”

    Kelleher lucky to escape red
Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher was relieved after avoiding a red card against Cardiff City this afternoon.
The Irishman, 23, deputised for regular No1 Alisson for the FA Cup clash against the Bluebirds.
His afternoon’s work could have come to a premature end, however, when he brought Mark Harris down just 36 seconds into the second-half.
Harris had been sent in behind by a searching long ball, when Kelleher rushed out.
He found himself in no man’s land, flooring the Cardiff winger around 35 yards from goal.
Referee Andy Madley opted to show Kelleher a yellow card, despite the Bluebirds’ protestations.

Cardiff should have had a penalty, according to co-commentator Ally McCoist.
Big, big second half to come from both sides.
    Cardiff holding their own
Championship outfit Cardiff are holding their own against Liverpool at Anfield.
Cardiff’s midfield and forward players especially aren’t shy to leave a tackle in on Liverpool’s big hitters.
Both Jordan Henderson and Virgil van Dijk have been left on the ground in a heap.
Cardiff have just had a very credible penalty appeal waved away… Ally McCoist thinks it’s a penalty.
VAR, on the other hand, says no.
    Liverpool 0-0 Cardiff
Liverpool and Cardiff are squaring off at Anfield for the chance to welcome Premier League strugglers Norwich City in the next round.

    City ‘suffered’ against Fulham
Although Man City saw off Championship high flyers Fulham 4-1 in the FA Cup, Pep Guardiola claims his side ‘suffered.’
After the game, Guardiola said: “I suffer a lot.
“We played against a fantastic team. I enjoyed a lot watching them [Fulham] and suffered a lot watching them because they know exactly what to do on the ball. The quality of our players made the difference in the end.
“We have seen how many Premier League teams this weekend suffered to qualify.
“[Manchester] United are out. This cup is tricky. We conceded and it was 0-1. But after that we equalised quickly. The second half was much, much better.”
And Guardiola saw Kid’minster’s near upset against West Ham.
The Spaniard continued: “What a competition. There are a lot of surprises. I saw the game West Ham played against sixth division. I said they [Kidderminster] play good.
“We are in the next round and we will see the draw. We’re happy to be there.”

Speaking after West Ham’s nail-biting 2-1 win in extra-time, West Murcia Police Supt Gareth Morgan said a small number of home fans had caused trouble.
“Thanks to the club’s stewards we were able to detain the four men before anyone was injured by their careless actions,” he said.
The officer thanked the majority of fans who behaved respectfully towards each other.
He added: “We worked closely with the club in the build-up to the game, and increased our presence around the town to ensure fans and the public were kept safe during this exciting and historic match.
“I would like to thank everyone involved for their co-operation.”
The Hammers were two minutes away from becoming the first team to be knocked out of the FA Cup by a sixth-tier opposition in 151 years.

Alex Penny gave the National League North side the lead against the Premier League team after just 19 minutes.
And they held onto it all the way until – despite the cheating attempts of Yarmolenko – until the 91st-minute.
Declan Rice brought the team back from the brink with a stunning stoppage time equaliser while Jarrod Bowen tapped home a goal in the 121st minute – sealing West Ham’s spot in the FA Cup’s fifth round.
Meanwhile, West Ham star Andriy Yarmolenko was slammed after his ‘pathetic’ dive against Kidderminster.
Yarmolenko was guilty of one of the worst dives of the campaign as West Ham struggled to find an equaliser before half time.
As the whistle for the break approached, the Ukrainian star was played through on goal but threw himself to the floor without being touched rather than try to go for goal.
BBC co-commentator Dion Dublin was the first to slam the Hammers attacker’s attempts to con the ref.
He said: “That’s embarrassing, that is totally embarrassing from Yarmolenko.
“No contact whatsoever. What are you doing?
“I’d be embarrassed if I watched my doing doing that… embarrassed.”
Plenty of others joined in on Twitter, labelling it ‘pathetic’ and Yarmolenko a ‘cheat’ for his antics.
One tweeted: “FFS Yarmolenko that’s the worst dive I’ve ever seen.”
Another wrote: “Andriy Yarmolenko with an early contender for the 2022 Fallon D’Floor.”

‘Get that head of yours up’ – Marcus Rashford sends message to Anthony Elanga after sick racial abuse of Man Utd starlet

MARCUS RASHFORD led the support for rookie Anthony Elanga after he became the latest victim of disgusting racial abuse.Striker Elanga was targeted by social media morons for missing a penalty as Manchester United lost an FA Cup shootout to Middlesbrough.

The Swedish teenager was distraught at blazing a vital spot-kick over the bar and seeing United crashed out 8-7 following Friday’s 1-1 draw.
Cristiano Ronaldo put his arm around the 19-year-old as they trudged down the Old Trafford tunnel, with more United players — including Juan Mata and Bruno Fernandes — adding their consolation.
Yet a number of abusive messages were left on Elanga’s Instagram page with Aberdeen striker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas highlighting them and adding the comment “predictable.”
England star Rashford immediately sprang to his young team-mate’s defence after the game, tweeting: “Anthony Elanga. Get that head of yours up immediately.”
Rashford, 24, was also a victim of horrendous abuse — along with United team-mate Jadon Sancho and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka — when all three missed penalties in last summer’s Euro final shootout loss to Italy.
United coach Ralf Rangnick said Elanga was “shattered” in the dressing room.
