And they have become a huge hit worldwide since the takeover despite missing out on promotion after the TV documentary “Welcome to Wrexham” went global.
Reynolds flew in from America especially for today’s FA Cup fourth round clash with Sheffield United, which finished in a thrilling 3-3 draw.
The game was being televised live on BBC, and host Lineker and pundits Shearer and Hughes got the opportunity to speak with the 46-year-old silverscreen ace before their attempted giantkilling of their Championship opponents.
Reynolds, speaking on BBC, said: “I’m standing amongst legends here!

“Realistically the fact that we’re in this church, if I were Sheffield United, I’d be taking this game very seriously.”
Reynolds, who was spotted handing a signed Wrexham shirt to the BBC Match of the Day boys before the interview, added: “We sold 24,000 jerseys this year.
“So many went to North America and Canada. It’s been amazing. The reception overseas has been the most surprising thing. The part that I find most gratifying is the support from outside the club, Wrexham has become a tourist destination.
“I’m pacing around like a caged lion. This is an extraordinary day. It’s a classic David versus Goliath story. This is football, anything can happen.”
Hughes, a former Wales international, echoed the views of Reynolds and said: “The impact the guys have had since they came in has been phenomenal.
“I’m a Wrexham boy, I’m from down the road, and everyone has been talking about it, everyone’s delighted.” More

Andy Robertson apologises to Liverpool fans as he admits Reds are getting even WORSE after FA Cup exit to Brighton

ANDY ROBERTSON conceded Liverpool have been “nowhere near good enough” as the FA Cup holders crashed out to leave their season in tatters.Kaoru Mitoma’s injury-time stunner plunged the Reds’ bid for silverware to a new low as Jurgen Klopp’s flops suffered defeat to Brighton for the second time in 15 days.

With Liverpool dumped out of both cups and ninth in the Premier League – ten points off the top four places – the only shot of a trophy remains the Champions League, where they face holders Real Madrid in the last 16.
Fuming Robertson, who apologised to the club’s fans, said: “This season has been nowhere near good enough. We wanted a new start at the turn of the year. If anything, we’ve been worse.
“You can’t put your finger on one thing that’s gone wrong, it’s more than that. You can tell we’re not confident in front of goal; we’re still a bit open defensively.
“We need to get our confidence back. I feel sorry for the fans. They were unbelievable today and we’ve let them down again.

“I thought it was a proper cup tie – end to end, both teams had chances.
“We were slightly better than two weeks ago, but we’re out of the cup and it’s bitterly disappointing. We need to start winning games. It’s easy to say and harder to fix.”
Liverpool took the lead on the half hour through Harvey Elliott but were pegged back by Lewis Dunk’s fluke, before the excellent Mitoma won it in injury time with a superb piece of control and composure.
Robertson’s fiery words were put to Klopp and the German replied: “It’s not 100 per cent true, but it’s not 100 per cent wrong. Of course you want a new start when you come back after the World Cup break, you want to go for it.

“And so far it didn’t happen properly. But we have to keep working. There were good performances and good moments in the game today.
“We had the game in mind from a couple of weeks ago which was pretty much the bottom of my time. So this was better, much better.
“But we still conceded two goals from set-pieces. We have to improve, body language, a couple of boys have to do much better.
“But last game here we couldn’t have won. Today nobody would have been surprised if we had won the game.”
Mitoma was signed for just £2.5million from Japanese side Kawasaki Frontale in 2021, before going on loan to Albion’s Belgian sister side Union Saint-Gilloise last term.
He has been a revelation this season, netting six goals in 19 games for the Seagulls, and his injury-time strike was simply breathtaking.
On the magical match-winner, Dunk said: “I’m glad he’s on our side. I wouldn’t fancy having to chase him. He’s a top player and he’s come out of nowhere.”
Roberto De Zerbi was happy with the result but felt his side could have played even better.

The Italian added: “The result we are very happy. We won a very difficult game against a different team than the last game.
“If you want to speak about quality of play, I didn’t like the game. We made a lot of simple mistakes and we have to work. We have to improve to achieve the higher level.” More

Wrexham 3 Sheff Utd 3: Ryan Reynolds heartbroken in FA Cup epic as Blades avoid non-league giant killing in 95th minute

AND THEY say that they don’t make them like this anymore.Yet Phil Parkinson’s National League heroes still starred in their own Hollywood–made Oscar winner.

One that looked like being a real weepie but turned into blockbuster that had everyone on the edge of their seats right to the last kick.
Paul Mullin thought he had become the hero figure at the end, this season’s FA Cup top scorer grabbing his ninth goal in seven ties with the coolest of finishes.
Yet while he proved why he is Wrexham’s leading man – that’s 55 goals in 70 games for the club – ten–man Sheffield United showed they are true grit.
Deep into time added on John Egan popped up from nowhere to force a sequel at Bramall Lane – and on the basis of this drama tickets for it will fly out the doors.

Paul Heckingbotham, having seen Daniel Jebbison red-carded for a kick on Red Dragons club captain Ben Tozer in the 70th minute, will be as relieved as opposite number Parkinson was disappointed amidst the closing scenes that promise so much more in the sequel.
Wrexham tunes of glory echoed around the Racecourse Ground, just before the first whistle a stirring rendition of the Declan Swans – a song about Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
What was mainly lost in the electric atmosphere within the famous old ground was that the Blades are on quite a journey of their own.
Parkinson’s players are rightly proud of the charge that is propelling them back to the Football League under the guidance of A-lister owners.

Their 3–0 midweek win over Gateshead extended their club record unbeaten run to 22 games.
And as always these days, they were playing in front of a 10,000 sellout.
You couldn’t buy a home shirt for love or money.
    Not just before the game.
It’s been that way for most of the season and now there was the chance of Dragons slaying giants.
As McElhenney declared on social media: “Take on a side three leagues and 70 points above us? God, I love this game.”
He can’t have been loving it that much as Oli McBurnie’s early header sailed past goalkeeper Mark Howard.
McElhenney’s partner Reynolds, who had been bouncing around the stadium for hours said not long before the teams appeared, said: “There is something special about this town.
“The fact Wrexham have become a tourist destination for so many folks and they are showing up here.”
The club has indeed becoming a global attraction for the pair who oversaw the documentary series ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ about their takeover of two years ago.
Except this welcome was really a brutal reminder that the Blades did, indeed, start the clash 70 places above their ambitious hosts.
They are 12 points above third–placed Middlesbrough, they haven’t lost since the restart following the World Cup, and have won seven out of eight games.
And as they proved, they are sharp.
McBurnie saw the opportunity as the Wrexham defence, maybe still a little overwhelmed by the noise and the atmosphere – the whole big deal of it all – stood still.
He didn’t, spinning away from his marker, with nothing Howard could do to stop him.
Things only went from bad to worse for Parkinson’s side.
While United celebrated Jordan Tunnicliffe was lying within a collapsed advertising hoarding, having slumped onto it with a hamstring injury.
He had to be replaced by Max Cleworth and by the 10th minute centre back Aaron Hayden was giving away to James Jones after damaging a calf muscle.
There had been so much Sky Blue thinking around the club after the wild ride that was a 4–3 third round win over Coventry City.
But this was the most miserable of starts and had Jaden Boggel and Jebbison made more of opportunities Wrexham’s incredible journey would have hit the buffers.
    And they might have crumbled.
After that nightmare start in the club’s first appearance in the fourth round since 2000 plenty would have understood had they done so.
But what is happening at the Racecourse is more than a celluloid fantasy and Parkinson’s men started making themselves heroes.
They were helped in their comeback quest by goalkeeper Adam Davies, one of five United changes, who dropped the ball and caused 49th minute panic amongst his defenders.
As they were still trying to calm down sixty second later as Wrexham breathed fire and sub Jones stabbed home from close range.
The sheer intensity of what came next bent the Blades completely out of shape and Tom O’Connor was perfectly placed to latch onto a desperate clearance and smash home.
And when Mullin hit the net four minutes from time – the second–placed Championship side still reeling from Jebberson’s dismissal – it seemed like the perfect finale.

Casemiro fires warning to Arsenal and Man City after Man Utd star’s FA Cup double against Reading

CASEMIRO has warned Manchester City and Arsenal that he is coming to get them. The brilliant Brazilian knows it will take some time, but he is certain that Manchester United are on the right path and can now see their rivals on the horizon.
Casemiro has warned Arsenal and Man City that United are ready to close the gapCredit: Getty
The five-time Champions League winner has not come to Old Trafford just for one final pay day.
The former Real Madrid midfield ace is here to make his own mark in the club’s rich history and that means beating their main rivals to the biggest prizes.
Casemiro said: “We’re on a good path. This is the way to win titles, but we need to keep growing.
“We know we’re progressing within a plan, step by step we’re building a well-structured team and this is important. To win titles in the future, you have to build a solid foundation.
    READ MORE ON MAN UTD
“When you arrive at a new club, you always dream of making history, especially when you see the greatness of this club. We know the history.
“But of course, I was aware of needing some time to adapt and of the rivals having a long-term plan before ours… Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool all have managers that have been there for a while and, therefore, have an advantage.”
Still, it is United who are the only team in the country still in all four competitions, even if the title is now a distant dream again after recent slip-ups at Crystal Palace and Arsenal.
Casemiro’s two goals against Reading on Saturday night put the Red Devils in the last 16 of the FA Cup with a Wembley date in the Carabao Cup final all but booked following their 3-0 semi-final first leg victory away to Nottingham Forest.

Then there is the mouthwatering knockout tie against Barcelona in the Europa League to come.
Casemiro is central to it all, dictating games and, as we saw on Saturday, finishing them off too.
He said: “Last time I scored twice in the same match was against Sevilla at Bernabeu and we won 2-1.
“My main job is to give more balance to the defence, help my team-mates and give more quality to the build-up… but to score is also important and satisfying.”
Casemiro is clearly loving life at Old Trafford.
After achieving so much at Real Madrid there were obviously fears the 30-year-old may not be able to find the motivation to help raise a fallen giant.
It was a challenge for me to keep growing and developing in my career (at United)Casemiro
Quite the opposite. When he said he was relishing a new challenge he meant it, and how he has grasped it.
He said: “I’m very comfortable at Man Utd, extremely happy to be here and enjoying every moment like a 15-year-old kid. But the most important thing is to see the team growing.
“We have to see what the reality is and we are still a club under construction. Of course we are already respected, the opponents know we’re strong, that we have good dynamics, the manager is doing a good job, the players as well.
“Manchester United is a big club, if we look at the titles, it’s the biggest in England. In our lives we have to have goals and challenges.
“It was a challenge for me to keep growing and developing in my career.”
A fine through ball from Antony on 54 minutes allowed Casemiro to open the scoring with a clipped finish over the advancing goalkeeper Joe Lumley before curling home a low 30 yarder for the second.
    SAMBA CONNECTION
He said: “Every goal that we score is a result of a collective effort. Every goal we concede is a collective consequence, there’s no individual error in this squad, we’re together.
“On my first goal, Antony’s pass was incredible. I know that people focus on who scored, but I wanted to give him a bit of love as the pass was magic. He’s an important player for us.”
Fred came on to flick home number three with his instep on 66 minutes before Amadou Mbegeu got a consolation for the Championship side six minutes later.
Andy Carroll’s return to a big stage had ended in the 65th minute for two bookings after a series of reckless challenges – one of which saw Christian Eriksen leave the ground on crutches.
So for Reading boss and United title winner Paul Ince this was not quite the return to Old Trafford he had hoped for.
Nor was the United team sheer as Erik Ten Hag showed no mercy in his quest for silverware.
    Read More on The Sun
Ince said: “You’re thinking all week who is going to play and then all of a sudden you look at the teamsheet and think Jesus, he’s going full throttle in this one.”
And Ten Hag aims to keep his foot on the pedal. More

When speaking to ITV, the Liverpool defender said: “Bitterly disappointing. I thought it was a good cup tie, end to end and both had chances.
“We were more competitive than two weeks ago but that didn’t take much. We created chances and were more compact but at the end of the day we are out of the cup.
“At a club like Liverpool, fans expect a lot and to lose with the last kick of the ball it’s disappointing. We need to start winning games. It’s easy to say but harder to fix.

And Jurgen Klopp must be wondering how he stops the rot after a ninth defeat of the season left his team deep in the doldrums.
The visitors had been fortunate to get away with a blatant foul on the edge of the area by Ibrahima Konate which appeared to deny a clear goalscoring opportunity to Alexis Mac Allister.
But Roberto De Zebri’s unflappable Seagulls refused to settle for an Anfield replay and were full value for their place in the fifth round draw.
